Was hoping that you could perhaps link me a good (updated) chef and weaponsmith guide both from 1-400.

Which legendary do you think is worth pursuing more? I really cannot decide. There are both pros and cons to both. I believe the bolt looks rather nicer, however, it would mean i would only be using it in PvE/ Dungeons. Whereas the incinerator looks nice, but i’m concerned about the size of it and the visibility to other players. I also believe the dagger lacks effects when compared to the sword. However, The Incinerator i can use for nearly all aspects of the game, WvW/PvE/Dungeons.

Stuck. I really want to start making gifts so if you guys could perhaps give me your opinions and experience with the legendaries it would be great!

P.S does anyone know if incinerator shows any animations on death blossom?

For dungeons/ WvW/ PvE, what do you guys run? (Of course, they may not all be the same).

At the moment, i can’t decide between my pistol whip direct damage build or my condition damage death blossom build. I’m open to new builds though ^__^.

(Problem with pistol whip is that i hate using sword in Pvp/WvW) and hence, i must change the build if i wanna WvW which is troublesome.

Wow map completion includes “discovery” as well? That would be extremely hard to track down :/ Especially if it’s underground/hidden.

So just wanted to check, does the 30% buff mean that we now fire more arrows within a certain time frame? (higher DPS). Or does it simply mean that our arrow reaches our target quicker, hence, not actually increasing our DPS.

So i’ve read somewhere in the forums that the “1” skill on the sword does more damage than the pistol whip “3”, is this true? I found it quite hard to believe as “3” costs initiative whereas “1” does not. However, after a few tests by myself they are quite similar, and i’m finding it hard determining which skill i should be spamming on PvE mobs. Obviously , PW has the 1 sec stun, but does this alone cost 5 initiative? Not to mention, PW locks you in place for a short duration.

I wanted some opinions regarding which legendary i should aim for. I currently use a S/P build for PvE, however….i use a D/D (sometimes a P/D) build for WvW.

It’s really quite difficult to make a decision as i use both of them >_<. In terms of gameplay, i probably will use sword more simply because i spend more time doing dungeons, farming and events. Whereas, i probably will spend a maximum of 2 hrs on WvW a day.

I also kept in mind that daggers can be placed in either main hand or off hand and can be built condition or direct damage. Where sword has mostly direct damage builds only.

Opinions?

From your experience would a D/D condition heavy-tanky build or a S/P pistol whip raw damage build be more appropriate for PVE. This includes map exploration as well as dungeons.

Would like to know since i want to start completing maps/ farm dungeons and need to start buying suitable runes/sigils/armor.

What are your thoughts regarding the general viability of the shortbow at it’s current stage? Reckon it will be buffed? or remain the same on the 14th patch? I’m starting to think that the animation nerf was intended and hence will not be compensated with extra dps due to the last patch.

Would like the see the general opinion of the gw2 community.

So i want some opinions regarding if i should attempt to get a legendary on my thief, and perhaps, which one i should get – i’m thinking either the shortbow (the dreamer) or the dagger (the incinerator).

I’m still very unsure if it’s worth it however, i don’t particularly love the shortbow with it’s rainbows and all…and i love the dagger but i don’t think it’s that “show-stopping” due to it’s size. For the effort i’m not sure whether it’s worth it.

I was even considering rolling a warrior to get a legendary GS but i simply don’t enjoy that class as much as the thief.

What’s wrong with wanting to be ‘better’? If there’s an opportunity for an improvement in the ability to help my server/guild; what right do you have to call us “pathetic” when all we want to do is be of the most assistance possible. I don’t know about you but i simply cannot enjoy a class if my phantasms miss the dam mob every time i summon it; it’s unreliable, frustrating and most importantly; not enjoyable.

I understand this but why would people base their “mains” on PvE, when presumably PvE will only lead to the ultimate goal: getting the armor needed to pvp in WvW?

I mean, isn’t PvE only a temporary thing for endgame armor? ._.

I guess i shouldn’t say till i actually test the war/guard for myself…=S

I’m in a rather large guild which should represent a rather accurate cross-section of the gw2 community. When i look at the roster, i see SIGNIFICANTLY more guardians/warriors than any other class with mesmers/engis being the least popular.

Can i get some reasons as to why these two classes are so popular? I don’t think they’re too OP (if at all) so what could it be o_O?

Quick Question. I did my first dungeon today and noticed the tokens state they are account bound (CoF tokens). Does this mean i could possibly farm tokens on one toon and subsequently transfer these to ‘character 2’ and spend them on ‘character 2’?

I recently leveled my thief to 78 within the last week. I can say, compared to my mesmer and ranger, that it has perhaps been a bit more troublesome, not due to a lack of damage but due to lack of toughness/vitality. It is not significantly harder though, there are some advantages; for example, many of the skillpoints you can avoid the veteran mob battles through using shadow refuge. I think 1v1 PvE is really easy but once the mobs stack to 4+ mobs it can become a bit overwhelming if you’re not used to the mechanics

Do u guys use shortbow ONLY for tagging events? Or…when should i be using it?

Yeah, that’s what i was thinking :/ Shortbow really does do pitiful damage whilst daggers require you to be in close range which really doesn’t help when i have a squishy build and the bosses do relatively high damage.

At the moment i’m running a glass cannon build 30/30/0/0/10.

I think i’ve now made enough gold to buy a full set of exotics.

I’m really confused as to which set i should buy and where i should get it from. Should i be buying this set from the T.P? I have done absolutely no crafting; should i level my crafting and make my own exotic gear? Furthermore, i’ve heard many people like to use “magic find” gear; not sure if i should be getting this or not. I also have no idea in regards to sigils and runes. I have to buy these on top of the exotics right? (Exotics don’t already come with runes/sigils?)

Or…should i be earning exotics though dungeons?

So confused; if u guys can help me pick a set and perhaps a set of dual daggers/pistols and shortbow that would suit my ‘glass-cannon’ type build (and tell me how to obtain it) it would be greatly appreciated.

I also am going to buy T3 cultural but from what i’ve seen they’re rare so that would basically just be a skin…:/

So i’m nearing level 80 and really excited about the dungeons, WvW events and so forth.

I have noticed however, my build currently incorporates the shortbow and D/D with glass-cannon traits. When i’m killing jormag, tequatl or the shatterer (or other bosses for that matter) i’m stuck using the shortbow which hardly does any damage on single targets. I attempt to use “2” but it hardly lands especially with the dragons moving their feet.

I was thinking dual pistols would be much more favourable with due the the number “3” unload.

What do you guys use? I’m thinking about buying a pair and swap to them just for bosses but it seems that would just be troublesome and perhaps costly.

The lowest level medium helm is level 10, to transmute does the new character have to reach at least level 10? Because at the moment it wont let me transmute the hood and the lvl 10 helm.

I have been keeping the starting hood from level 1 till now (level 62) in hope that i can transmute it for endgame. However, i accidentally sold it today T_T.

Is there any way to get the same hood?

For PVP, how do you guys target the enemy? Because at the moment, i’m simply killing anything my autotarget gives me. Which i know is bad cause i can’t focus a target that stealths =S

I can click but it can get a bit confusing especially in large team fights where there are multiple targets and you are trying to focus on only one of them.

So i used to main a mesmer, but now that they removed LoS and nerfed our beserker’s damage to oblivion…i was wondering where the Guardian sits in terms of: (Perhaps a subjective rank can be given compared to other classes)

1) PVE
2)sPvP
3)WvW

The class doesn’t have to be OP, but at least decent in PVP aspects of the game as that’s what i often find myself spending time on

First character was a ranger. Rerolled mesmer… Man I feel for ya. I havent even logged in yet (DL at 67%) but after hearing all this I may have to make a warrior…

Omg. This is exactly what i did. EXACTLY. I’ve now got a 74 ranger and 72 Mesmer. I am constantly getting demotivated to get level 80 due to the dam nerfs Anet keeps putting on the professions i just happen to play.

3v1 my kitten lmao! With a longbow? Even more of a joke. How do you expect to keep 3 people max distance away from you single-handed?

Not to rant but i’ve attached my first game with a warrior in which i speced a “troll” build with full power and no defense…at all.

Not only does the warrior have better vitality stats than the ranger, he has huge burst with the rifle’s “3” skill/frency/elite signet. AND!!!! his he has a “sniper-like” skill called kill-shot which i did a 9.9k crit with…wth?

Furthermore, the auto-attack of the rifle applies bleed. ALL THE TIME. no specific position required. No need to flank the opponent.

My question is, if a supposed “melee” class can beat a “ranger” at his own game and have tanky stats…how is this even fair? (Not to mention, i was essentially laughing at how stupidly overpowered they are)

I get the whole “any profession can play any role” concept, but for one class to be great at everything and for one to be simply mediocre (if that) is..ugh…

P.S i only tried warrior because of the huge masses you see in lion’s arch.

Can i know where you buy these? Haha, i’m sort of new to the game (all i have been doing is leveling)

I have a level 74 ranger, and honestly, it looks terrible! Medium gear looks so much worse than heavy/light in my opinion.

Is there anything out there i can get which is more mainstream?

I wanted to discuss the concept of playing the other gender. Is it wrong? or perhaps deceptive? I realised when playing my mesmer (as a male) that we look quite feminine with the purple/butterflies and thought how much better it would look if i was playing a female.

Anyway i just thought it would be interesting to see other people’s opinions.
