So you’ll be doing all the Dragon bosses 10+ times a day – no matter what timeframe? Even if their times clash? If a player rocks up during his one hour of playtime you’ll be right there ready to drop it as it spawns?
Take the blinkers off, get over the “our guild is god” mentality and realise that this path leads to fail.

The Teq change was a bad plan, its inaccessable to low pop servers and players. If more changes are going to be taking this path it will cripple the fun for a huge playerbase…except those guys, in that guild, the one with the zealot bearform guy….
Also – as the other dragons get revamped, what are the options? join the teq killing guild! oh, you’ll need to be in the jormag guild too, and the shatterer guild btw, oh and your main guild. Then just sort the timing so they never coincide.
Actually nerfing this would drastically drop any chance smaller pop servers have. just a heads up there anet, with this consumable small pop servers have a chance vs no chance at all.

My day now goes thus: login, check dailies, map to wayfarer, kill x types, do x events, swim and kill x creatures, map to home instance, harvest crystals, map to wayfarer, create charged quartz, map to lion, make mithrillium and glob. do mystic forge/salvage dailies if needed. Go do ls daily. After all this: i can start playing and having fun. If you then missed x months, you’re wayyy behind in gear and also people are now beginning to judge you based on your achieve points.
It does need to slow down, and i agree, molten facility which i missed and bazaar which i didn’t would be awesome as permanents. The real question is: is it worth enough that you’d grind it every day to get kudzu or armour? our guild does it twice a week but the other paths we do daily, multiple times. Its just too long a path. Sure you can say it has great ideas and cool fights but at the end of the day, why waste time?
Sorry pop, all I got out of that was a pile of arrogant rage. If you have no interest in the content and haven’t done it then how do you know the frustrations of 3 days of failures? Also are you saying that theres not a SINGLE post on the non-english forums saying that it needs tweaking? I’m in 3 guilds – 1 for wvw, one for pve and one for dungeons. Do i now need a guild for each world boss as they get tweaked too? Quite the logistic problem there and your advice is a tad silly. Every teq success i’ve seen has been the result of 1 – 2 large organised guilds and a handful of server natives who were lucky enough to be there. That makes it guild content as far as i’m concerened.

The main problem is that due to popularity of the servers that have beaten him we’re getting huge zergballs suddenly showing up and beating him on a server that actually hasn’t been able to but hey, its empty of people. So it looks like “wow! everyones doing it!” but in reality its the same zergs/guilds. No point doing it in a server you can’t get all your guys into.
Actually quite a few haven’t passed it. Dragonbrand have had 2 victories – both by huge guilds guesting, beating him then grazing elsewhere. As an actual server we’ve hit 50% max. The numbers of servers beating him are getting inflated by the huge guilds unable to get space on their own server.
Once the overall community understands how to fight Tequatl, you’ll realize just how simple this fight really is.
It is simple, and we are doing the right thing/foods/tactics – but the dps needed is insane. If anet said 80 they meant 20 defenders and 60 fullon pvt dps
I feel you SoS, its the same on dragonbrand. We’ve had 2 kills and they’ve both been by roving huge guilds and once offs. The guild that beat it for us yesterday did it on Devonas this morning. If you’re lucky like I was you’ll be in the map when they suddenly rock up because they can fit all their guildies in.
The best we’ve done is 50% and its usually because we just can’t get the dps.
The numbers are amiss too, dragonbrand hasn’t actually beaten teq, we had 2 huge superguilds basically login, beat him and move on. As a server we actually are in a constant state of 50% best.
I was super excited when we passed it on dragonbrand but it wasn’t actually us, it was a driveby guild that passed it on devonas this morning. We were just a handy low pop server. So technically we haven’t beaten teq ourselves at all. We also had a huge taiwanese guild do the same thing last night apparently.

There is co-ordination and team work involved. For you to suggest that it’s just numbers is pretty silly.
And huge huge dps. And a decent amount of guards on batteries and turrets. And DPS. Never said it was all about zerging, but the numbers matter a hell of a lot.
Overflows actually correct the problem of low pop servers, you essentially get a full map of people who are all trying to guest in and actually do the event. 90% of em actually WANT to succeed, whereas home servers suffer the whole afk etc problems.
Bad content is bad content. Its already becoming a dead event with all players that want to actually pass it guesting elsewhere. Bad bad design.
Numbers are already dwindling on my server and the achieves for the week are basically a writeoff (although i do love the achievable wings) if its unchanged it’ll just be another dead event shunned by every server. Blackgate won’t have those numbers everyday, every spawn.
The thrill will wear off in a few days as player numbers dwindle due to the huge amount of effort required to drop him and the fact that once you have – there’s no real incentive to redo. Then sparkfly will become just a ghosttown again. So just wait a few days and the overflow problem will pretty much right itself.
All well and good but will you be there every day, every spawn? or will these changes due to one event still be there when in a few days from now the teq thrill has worn off and he’s a ghosttown?

Umm, there is no trick. Those servers that have beaten him are currently the biggest overflow/guest zerg servers BECAUSE they’re the top pop servers. Dragonbrand – 2 days 70% best we’ve done currently a handful of people onsite with the rest all trying to guest elsewhere. Your numbers in this thread mean very little with guesting so rampant.
Dragonbrand, great communication, as many players as we could fit with foods/potions – 70% our best all day. I started @ 8am and its now 10:21pm I’ve been at every single spawn and its just a handful of people now and an LA full of “nah, not worth it”. Sorry anet. Its just crap content aimed at a very small percentage of your playerbase and the thrills wearing off which means so are the number of attendees.
The thing is – its been successfully done…once. They couldn’t repeat it once the guild guys who wanted the “first kill” credit left. Its been respawning every hour-ish and nope, no other successes. Its liandri for a group. Now there’s a pile of guys that will immediately, without even reading, just post “omg, l2p, i love it, its hard” but you guys are total dingbats. 99% of all servers are failing and those guys are too busy doing fractals and reading the forum at the same time to actually attempt the new teq. So you get the poser “omg hard content, i loves cause i am leet!” while the 99% of the rest of us go “why do they keep making this stuff a grind?”. Its not a l2p issue, if you think it is, guest on my server and teach us all. Best attempt so far – 90%. Its…not…balanced….
Its already happening in my guild, full guild, 3 people attending the rest are “meh, best our servers done is 90%, not worth it” Gonna be a dead zone anet.
Cool, lets keep going shall we. name 5 guilds on my server active during my timeframe of play with players that haven’t yet run cof p1 on their mains. When you’ve figured that all out for me then you can use that brain and explain why it now takes me an exceptionally longer time to get cof gear for my alts. I put most in the first post but you must have missed it…twice. I even pointed it out so people wouldn’t miss that most in there. Just in case…i used it again.
Anet, the tokens are needed by a lot of us for purely aesthetic armour reasons. Make the gear unsalvageable, or salvagable so that it always gives 2 mithril + rune or something but please return the tokens to 60 per alt per hour.
ok, theres quite a bit too much talk about cash from dungeons being the reason we’re in there so lets clarify a bit. If i’m setting foot in a dungeon its because i want that sexy looking gear or stat combination of gear. If the mobs dropped nothing and the armour was unsalvagable or if salvaged only gave 2 mithril thats fine by me, i’m not running cof for anything except that armour for my new war/guar/rang/eng (i have 1 of each class). Now that the tokens are dropped to tiny tiny amounts after run 1 its extremely difficult to acquire those tokens by doing guild runs etc as frankly at 20 tokens per no-one else wants to set foot in there either. 60 tokens per alt was a great way to get the look you want (and you’d buy the trans crystals in the store to mix look with stats…just saying anet) and also meant the other folks in your guild would go “oh yeah, i’ll go as my ele, haven’t run him today” Now its back to dungeons being a ghosttown filled only with those there to grind out the gold from them.

Its all well and good to say do it when your guildmates/friends do it but I live in New Zealand, most guilds are 90% na time based (Before the screaming starts note the most in that ok) so of the 3 guilds i’m in everyones done the run and my option is to pug it. Sure you’ll say “pugs are np, i’ve had great pug runs” but remember, nz timeframe, the good playerbase has already been there done that and now with zero incentive to re-run they’re not lfg anymore. Its a terrible decision, longer time to get the awesome armour (in a game where new skins are in the gemstore every week…) and now even less people in dungeons per day. Please revert this monstrosity.
Its a shocker of a change if you play only on fri,sat,sun. The 60 tokens makes the dungeon worth doing as i’m only interested in the tokens for gear, the loot is pointless crapola. I have 1 char of each class and i want to armour them all up in some of the cool dungeon skins but now thats going to take several weeks per char as opposed to a few days per char. I’d rather dungeon tokens remained at 60 per but the mobs dropped no loot at all just bosses.

Take david, was the statue a fat balding middleaged guy with gout? no, it was the ideal form of a male in his prime. If you look at david and think “pfft, unrealistic i don’t look like that” then you’re missing the point. If i had the ability to sculpt or create an awesome figure in metal i’d kitten well make a woman i could fall in love with. If you look at that same woman and go “my boobs are’nt that pert, my butts not that perfect…unrealistic..pffft” then its YOUR self worth issue destroying a masterpiece. To then come online and try and have it abused, degraded and removed from the game? just sad. Get off the computer chair, go exercise and read a book on art. Grow up a little.

Don’t worry, we get this behavior on our server too. Just keep doing your thing and ignore them. We’ve flipped camps and stalked yaks and guards with a 3 man roving band and been told the same thing. Basically if you’re not in a big wvw guild you’ll run into this sort of ignoramus. If they don’t have a pin up for folks there’s no way they can expect you to know what they’re doing. And yeah, it feels like a slap in the face.
Don’t sweat it man, he hops on rarely and forces the other commanders to tag down. Switch to a borderland when he pops on and stay off the ts and you’ll be right. Hes famous for wild goose chases. Keep holding our stuff for us! Like efface said just a residual taint we gotta live with.
Someones just having fun with us. Jq smacked all the walls on our keep down then just sat back and farmed us for an hour. >< we’ll get our vengeance!
Its been gone over and over again but at the end of the day anet just want to annoy a lot of us. I love wvw, i love the thrill of flipping camps solo and taking down yaks and other ninja actions but when its pve time, its pve time. i love spending time mapping the world and trying to get the achieves, especially now with the chests. currently we’re facing sor and blackgate and the sanctums camped 24/7. do the guildies care? sure, but we’d need an army of 20+ to fight through there at the moment. Anet you’re idiots. if you’re going to do pve achievements then leave pvp areas out of its just infuriating. Players keep complaining and you just keep ignoring em but that tends to come back and bite you in the kitten . fix it. Leave pvp to pvp players and pve events to pve areas.
We’ve had the same problem on Yaks, a queue to get in, we have nothing except a supply camp and 1 keep, no swords and the commanders screaming for everyone to get to the keep and there’s a whopping 12 of us on the map apparently.
Add to the queue the people trying to get in for mapping and the puzzle too. They’re only in there to hang about till the poi they want is available or until a mesmer is ready to port them.
Cool, enjoy your queue time, now 40 players per server i hear. Won’t you have a blast. Puzzle serves 0 purpose to WvW players its only of interest to PvE folk.
Small group getting badges = playing pvp. If you have no interest in pvp and you’re a solo pve player – thats what the puzzle was originally added for. A way for pve folk to get badges without playing the part of the game they despise. Much like the pvp guys despise pve and as anet said – you can do/get everything in wvw that you can in pve so you can play the way you want!. If you despise pve and HAVE to do it? you hate it, its a waste of time and you’re not enjoying it. Same with a pve fan who’s trapped into doing pvp, he’s just eating up a space a proper pvp player could take, that team just got a player who doesn’t care about placing siege, taking keeps or giving info in map chat. He ‘s there to do the puzzle and get out as fast as possible. So next time your mate is stuck in que while you’re kitten off waiting for him – think “Thanks Anet! those 30 guys kittening about the campers in the jumping puzzle stopped my mate and half my kitten guild getting in, good freaking idea”
The best idea i’ve seen in the threads so far is the normal/hard mode argument. Theres 2 types of people doing dungeons – The ones that are after the tokens, and the ones that want the ectos from the tokens. Normal mode players are the ones that want to do the dungeon till they have their gear then bye bye, not interested anymore. Hard mode players are the ones that don’t want the blasted silly armour, just give me the freaking cores/stones/ectos kay. Add a hard mode, better chest loot, better drops, more challenging. Have the normal mode for gear and make the armour so it doesn’t ever salvage into ectos, just silk or mithril. Theres a thread in here about a guy who has his storage filling up with ascended rings from fractals. Does he want any fractals gear? nope, doing it for the cash now, plain and simple. Will he be rich? yep, he’s doing the grinding to GET rich. so to recap this wall of freaking text – normal mode: gimme the cool armour and teach me the dungeon! Hard mode: screw this crappy armour, gimme the kitten cash.
The idea of a tokens tab – freaking epic. Brilliant.
I have 6 level 80’s. Story mode should be just that – an interesting story you enjoy as it fills in the backdrop of the world. Not some crazy hella thing you don’t want to do more than once ever. I was kitten when I had to do Arah twice as it glitched at the end the first run through, it was long, annoying and the ending was so anti-climactic for the time the kitten thing took it was pointless anyway. Having the storymode easy is a great decision. Less time wasted doing a quest you’re only doing to get rid of the annoying green popup in the top right of your screen.
The difference in dungeons is, with the wp system taking a bunch of new guys was no problem. “see, when the circles form like that just dodge, don’t worry just wp back and try again” vs “oh man, that guys down again, screw this, kick him and grab another guy”. The guys who have already done all the dungeons have no problem with the new system, they have friends and guildies who also know it and they’ll run with them. Its lost the ability for a newbie to learn from experiencing it, now its just dead=you suck = kick. Theres a few guys out there who will teach you but sadly its now the minority as most players who are like that are the casual players. The 24/7 guys just don’t give a rats, they’re running it 45 more times that day and you’re just wasting space.
Gah, 2 weeks of facing crushing machines and now the good chance of another 4 weeks worth. Gonna lose a lot of people that loved WvW.
