Anet haven’t commented on it and frankly don’t care. The jp adds to the wvw que, the que gets larger because people want the pois and get stuck going there for ages when they don’t want to (see those guys in home base not moving, they’re waiting for that poi to get taken during reset night). It was a terrible decision, its had a ton of threads opened about it and the devs just don’t give a rats kitten Sorry but theres nothing you can do about it other than map into wvw once in a while and hope its taken. (after waiting in the que for an hour that is).

To the OP, Basically its Anets bad decision. They added the puzzle so people who didn’t want to pvp could get a few badges a day and work towards their legendary. They then decided “hey, a puzzles too easy, lets make it a killer dungeon full of bully mentality kids and traps they can use on people!” They screwed up. It adds to que times, is annoying as hell and its super low on their to-do list. The forums chocka block with complaints from both sides of the issue and they’re just ignoring it. option 1 – join a zerg and pray you’re a dps class while you grind for hours and hours to get the badges or option 2 – just forget about it and drop the game till they fix it. Which they won’t.

To the OP, Its pointless. Anet don’t give a rats kitten they had no clue as to what was going to happen when they made map completion and a puzzle in a pvp zone. Should the jumping puzzle be removed from a pvp area? yes, its a source of badges for pve folks to get legendaries without having to GRIND wvw for weeks. Should a PUZZLE be in an area that suffers long ques to get in and is just full of skilless players relying on numbers to kill lone pve folk? (if you’re a skilled wvw player, you’re actually fighting to help your server not kitten about in a puzzle like school bullies). Will anet listen? no. They’ve got too many other craptastic ideas to implement and fix. So basically your choices are – 1) join the zerg and hope you do enough dps to tag kills and get badges. 2) try to talk to anet about it (gl) 3) forget about it and just drop the game till its fixed (again, gl). All you’ll get here is the kiddies going “hurr hurr, we done camped your kitten #8221; sorry, just the way it is.

for the first time i had a wait of over an hour to get into yaks bend borderlands. Eternal simply was no-go at all. Never happened on yaks before. (Oceanic) i’m guessing something got “fixed”

Actually, why not make the placeholders an option? take a generic human male/female and while you play all you see is that model in teamcolour (heavy armour/med armour/etc). Or choose the figure you want to see (all enemies armies look like eir for instance). I’d happily play vs an army of lookalikes if it kitten well meant i could reliably see the buggers.

to the OP, its not going to change and all you’ll get for posting is the usual “pfft, you is n00b, learn to pvp vs my 15 idiot friends” your options are 1) realise that mentality means its always camped by idiots 2) just ignore it and join the wvw zerg or 3) drop the game and forget about the 11 year old wannabes. The games aiming more and more at the “i’m cooler than you kay?” crowd. And to Anet, you added the chest as a way to get badges by doing the PUZZLE so PvE folks could ignore the WvW as they didn’t want to play it, you’ve also classified WvW as a PvE mapping area. Fix it and choose either PvE or PvP. Make it clear what was going through your minds when you decided to mix n match 2 completely different playstyles.

to the OP, Sadly anet just don’t give a rats. The only feedback you’ll get here is the campers going “haha”. its the classic 11yr old “i’ve got 15 other idiots cause i can’t kill you solo”. Anets doing their very best to market the game to exactly that mentality. They started with the “play it your way” and got all the cash from the casual players who thought awesome! then added fractals for the WoW refugees and now thats their target audience “come grind for gear and make other players kitten!” If you want the badges the only options to join a zerg and roll around or just do what most of us seem to be doing and just walk away from the game.

If you read the posts in other threads you’ll find dancingpenguins has got a serious complex going on. If you see his name as a poster just skip it. They’re all the same content – l2p like my awesomeness! Its guys like that have have made me drop this game as they’re spreading like wildfire now its become more grind oriented.

I’ve noticed that after the whole unbalanced WvW problem and the dungeon patch i’ve pretty much just dropped the game until further notice. I’m in a great guild of over 100+ members who do dungeons every day and lately the guild chats been “nope, not interested in dungeons anymore, nope no time, omg i just got kicked path 3 arah and i’m in full arah gear, kitten!” I’ve done the “been there, done that” seen all of the game but its now kind of killed for me as i have no interest in fractals, do fractals>get fractals gear so>can do more fractals>to get more gear>so can… I’ve logged in religiously to do the dailies on 2 accts but now they’re also a bit random. What about you? have you become a forum browser waiting for the next change? or are you still as enthralled by the game as we all were at start?

EDIT: The reason for this post is that it feels like the community has changed, its getting harder to just pick up a group and do content, its now more of a “you must be x class or use x ability at x time or we’ll kick you” where as before it was, grab 5 guys and get in there and have a blast. Now its a bit more like work than just fun. If the devs see a lot of likeminded people saying the same thing maybe they’ll get the hint. Currently its just no longer a casual players game. (and casual players spend the most money in-game as they don’t have the hours of grinding to get the cash).

- This is a tad elitist BUT sometimes you really do get a complete doofus. I’ve also been kicked at the endboss in cof (I assume so a guildie could get his tokens) after a great run with 0 talk and 0 problems. If you have the ability to kick, make it that after 3/4 of the way its not available.If you’ve defeated 3 out of 4 bosses and you haven’t been kicked either the dungeons going well or like the guy above, you’re feeling masochistic.

I think you missed the point silidus. Please make a post in a new thread on “tipis and tricks to survive dungeons” this post is where you’re lead to share your experiences with the DEVS not be told “sure casual players aren’t bad players but learn your class kay?” not all players want to bind their keys a set way, play their builds a set way and learn the animations and cooldown times on every skill on every class of character they have. Some casual players have to drop everything mid fight because the wife needs the son watched for a quick 5 mins, some people NEED the ability to leave and map back in 5 minutes when the issues been solved. Or a quick run to the loo suddenly, an important work call. There are people living very different lives from you. Please leave this thread for its purpose – to send a message to the actual important folks who made the game.

This is comments from players for the devs – this is not a thread marked “heres how you should play kay?” There are a crapton of disgruntled players and you’re obviously just riling them up and saying l2p. Let themspeak without being called idiots.

Agreed, the ability to use rebirth saved many an ELITE team. who were elite enough to know they were going to need it (remember tombs? my old guild did that run in under 20 mins, did we need ressing? hell yes we wiped sometimes from an accidental overpull, but 1 guy with rebirth and bingo, back in the game). The ability to respawn should at worst be timed, say if you’re downed you can use a wp after 1 min just add a timer on screen “you have died: your spirit is charging power to waypoint in 45,44,43…”. Thats a hella long time to be laying there but better than a wipe. fractals is fractals, its an endless dungeon for those that want endless grinding, dungeons are there for those who don’t have exotics to get the awesome cool flamed sword/chest they’ve always wanted. Don’t make everything mirror fractals because its “cool” to a certain crowd.

interesting about the voip. playing on voip is rather impossible in a small house with a child late at night. In gw1 the changes got worse and worse and the dungeons harder and harder as time went by and people who were fully armed to the teeth suddenly couldn’t do uw without a very specific team build. FoTM is for you if you’re a diablo “eternal dungeon” fan. GW2 was never advertised as that, its a beautiful open world with brief forays into dungeons if you wanted the look of the gear or a certain set of stats. Now its a gear-fest. And worse, its becoming a gear/class fest. Aoe gets you through that part? np, we’re nerfing aoe. 3 of your guys are minimum level for the dungeon in blue armour as they have no cash? np, we’ll force you to wipe and restart each encounter. If you die with a pug group theres always a 10% chance you’ll get booted immediately. That just rose even higher. If you die twice because your group couldn’t reach you and they needed your dps and start dropping themselves? runs over matey. The zerging was overused but why not make it you could only have 1 person use a waypoint per minute while in combat? why make the whole kitten team suffer? That poor downed guys going to be stressed as that he’s going to get kicked and annoyed as hell if he gets no loot as he’s stuck dead. Fix the bugs first.

I think there’s a few angles on this 1) the revive orb sales (sounds…suspicious enough to be true) 2) in GW1 every area got tougher as the game aged, if you could do an elite area fast because you were skilled, suddenly the enemies could shatter enchantments, you then got better and played all physical, the enemies could use shield (and still shatter), if you STILL got fast times, loot got nerfed from certain creatures/tougher foes added. Suddenly only the elite could run them. Its starting again. This will require tougher, more downing resistant teams and they’ll not want you if you’re x class or aren’t wearing x items. Sure you say, but we’re skilled! On your first run? as a level 75 newbie in 75 rare gear? sure you were, you knew exactly where the burrows spawned first go and where the fire orbs were. 3) Time – a massive number of your players are 20 – 30+. we have lives, children and want to hop on, run a dungeon with guildies laugh our kitten off and then go cook dinner for the significant other. A 20 min quick run was perfect, could squeeze in a couple if you could dodge the wooden spoon being thrown at you. Now its back to gw1 mentality of “it has to be long ok!? its a dungeon! an elite area!” Sorry Anet, I want fun. staying downed because one guy can’t shake aggro (we’ve all had that weird in aggro still issue) is not fun, regening bosses are not fun, slow runs are not fun. Arah, never done it, no time. CoE, done it was annoying and have never redone it due to time issues. Stop making ideas just to stay employed ok.

Look, every decision is zerg centered. This wvw part is aiming more and more that way. RI is supposed to stop an easy ninja by a small group, but its useless vs a zerg, so people mostly wander around in a zerg. AoE – useless vs a zerg, culling – ninja zergs. portals and stealth walls – culling abuse by zergs. Top tier servers? oddly enough, zerg-centric. And now no ressing in combat – so more players = win. Sport ability? none. Is it still fun with a small group, yes but you’re always waiting to get hit by a zerg. RI had a purpose, but it wasn’t intended to stop a zerg – just a small quick solo ninja, which it does. But its just 1 more incentive to zerg up. Which makes sense really as zerg = more players = more customers.

More worried about the rezzing actually. WvW at the moment is frankly just crap. Its really becoming zerg vs zerg 24/7. But no rezzing in combat? do you know how long it takes to run from spawn to durios when its on the enemies side?, try doing say coe with a rule like that, face a boss, half team down, no choice but to walk back to a fully regened boss? the golem bosses in dredge will be great fun won’t they. Anet you’re idiots, stop trying to fix non broken things and concentrate on the more important things like fixing culling. AoE hitting max of 5? yep, that’ll make people not zerg up for sure! idiocy.

What yaks are facing on every bl spawn gate. Cullings stopping you seeing the mass behind them. Sad, and theres a guy trebbing our spawn gate. thats a very bored kaineng team.

Sorry kaineng. We at yaks pretty much have given up. We have a small zerg trying to flip supply camps, dredge, kill harpies etc so we can level guys and have fun but its just not possible. If we’re lucky we can evade the ball of spawn campers and flip maybe a camp but thats it. Then we’re steamrolled effectively being free badges. We tried going over to cd bl but sadly its the same situation. And anet, look at the amount of folks talking about dropping your game and playing something else. Its a hint to fix things fast.

The problem is it isn’t 6 days. last week yaks had the mag steamroll, this week its kaineng, next week its? WvW right now is a ghost town, we’re fielding a max of a 40 player zerg on 1 map vs 50+ zergs on ALL maps fielded by kaineng, each zerg with the same guild tag (one per map it seems) which is awesome co-ordination and good job guys! but its not just us suffering, poor ioj last week and cd this week are even worse off, they’re like finding a unicorn they’re that rare. Our top commanders are now barely bothering to login and that’s a bad sign. I agree with the idea that the matches drop to say 3 day matches, get the rankings sorted and sorted fast. I miss that thing called fun.

Sadly thats just it. If its not fun, people won’t play. If you’re being spawn camped 24/7 and theres nothing to farm/do (even the salamanders and bears and coyotes are unreachable from spawn) then thats that. server population just wanders off. A lot of us play just for the wvw content, if thats also pointless then yes, time to play something else thats fun. Also, if the paid transfers turn out to be a low cost (say 100 gems, 300 if the servers full) then this will happen all over again when the guilds go “oh, its cheap, lets go back to where we were”. Which means weeks of players doing something else. Those players then may decide to just drop the game entirely. If you haven’t played in weeks, it means you’re doing something else.

Sorry, i’ve mapped the world, done more dungeon runs than i care to admit and wvw is the only reason i play. For the last week its been spawn camped 24/7 and no fun at all. Dropping this game seems likely to happen as for “the next few weeks” this will be the norm. The karma train on Yaks was fantastic but now thats not even possible as theres a zerg hitting you in minutes. Its going to take a lot of matches for these servers to move up and that means a lot of weeks, not just 1 or 2. Sorry anet, good plan but should have done it as a “surprise! now it costs to move!”
