Has anyone figured out what the mystery part of the monthly achievement is yet?

A DEV officially confirmed that it will be revealed the 22nd, it’s part of the Halloween event.

Please link this, because when I finished the monthly experience survivor achievement, it turned into ? ? ? and my monthly is stuck at 80% completion – did everything else.

Sure, here is the link.

I even sacrifice thousand kitties in my room to the flame god of the flame legion and nothing…

NOTHING? That is supposed to be the way to open the nexus to The Dark Land Of Evil Bunnies.

Surely, you didn’t do the ritual properly! You did set the kittens on fire while still being alive, didn’t you?

Alternate way to level alts

Yeah, crafting from 0 to 400 gives 10 levels.

And it doesn’t matter at what level you start, it will ALWAYS add 10 levels.

If you start at 5, you will be 15 when you hit 400.
If you start at 42, you will be 52 when you hit 400.
If you start at 70, you will be 80 when you hit 400.

This is because each crafting XP that you get, gets you a PERCENTAGE of the leveling XP.

If you receive 100 crafting XP you will get like 1% of the leveling XP that you need for your next level.

If you receive 100 crafting XP when you are level 70, that 1% will be much more compared to the 1% when you are level 5, because it will be 1% of the XP that you need to level from 70 to 71 instead of 1% of the XP that you need to level from 5 to 6.

That’s why I would never level an alt from 0 to 80 with pure crafting. It would be easier to level it manually to 20. Leveling from 0 to 20 goes fast AND you avoid having to do all 8 crafts. you only need to do 6 so you can avoid the 2 most expensive crafts (apperently, cooking and jewelery).

Or you can craft all 8 to level 350, the levels 350 to 400 are by far the most expensive.

Bottom line: you save alot of money when you level to 20 manually.

Were people suprise that many GW2 players are complaining about PVE Endgame?

Sometimes you just don’t like something. With MMO’s people seem to be a bit more vocal / whiny about what they don’t like.

No, i don’t think that the averag MMO player is more vocal than -say- the average TV-watcher.

It is just easier for us to voice our opinions, because we have these forums tied to the game, that is all.

Besides… I think that feedback (even the whiny ones) are important for gaming companies.

A whiny customer is a customer that tells you what they want to change. That’s a good thing for companies. Sometimes they can change things to satisfy these people. Sometimes they can not, but they can explain why they did something. But companies can talk to them, make them stay.

It are the customers that do NOT say anything, they customers that will just leave that are much more difficult to keep.

With that being said, you dont exactly “need” support win in this game either(may it be pvp or pve).

I am a new 80, so I don’t know really. But is this true?

Can you do -say- Arah story mode with 5 people that are all DPSers and don’t support others at all?

Is there any way in the game to...

There’s none but It would be great to have a small tool bar for items.

Yes, we need some of that. Just 4 or so.

I understand that they do not want to clutter up the UI, but this is needed, I think. They can make them invisible when you don’t use them, for all I care.

Did they ever said they were working on this or did they ever said they won’t do it?

Surely other players mentioned that they do not like it that they got to open their inventory to place a seed turret or so.

Is there any way in the game to have some sort of toolbar to display things like the Seed Turrets, the Ash Legion Spy Kit or the Golem Pet Whistle show up ont he screen to click (or hotkeyed), without having to open the inventory each time?

It’s very annoying that I got to keep my inventory open all the time, so I can click these when needed

I can see a noticable difference between 1 and 2. 3 does look the best, but I don’t know if that’s the angle showing off the hero’s armor better, a difference in hardware, or any other factors that might be affecting the screenshot.

3 >>> 2 on all fronts. The chest is more detailed, the shoulders are. I don’t think that has nothing to do with the angle!

Viability of rifle/longbow warrior?

Leveling you will noticed kill speed is slow as ranged when compared to melee and even more noticeable if you have another class, say Necro condition based. I think the reason is the high HP+durability of the class is a tax on our ranged damage.

Kill speed with the longbow versus 1 mob is slower, yes. But with Longbow you got a) a combo starter and b) lots of AOE.
That’s why I love Longbow: you will kill 2-3-4 mobs much faster.

does FIRST order get their item FIRST?

Over-cutting does -not- drive the price up. The only thing consistent ‘over-cutting’ does in this game, is close the gap.

Explain that to me again, will you?
Preferably without chopping off any of my fingers

I thought overcutting was this…
Person 1 puts up a buy-order for 10g.
Person 2 overcuts and puts a buy-order for 11g.
Person 3 now has to beat 11g instead of beating 10g.

So, the price went up from 10g to 11g because of the overcutter person 2, no ?

Sure, there can be a seller that has the item up for 15g. But he is not a factor. He is not bidding against me nor is he selling to me, he doesn’t decide the price that I have to pay, it is the overcutter that decides my price.

I would cerainly agree with a minimum gap of 2, 3 or even 5%. Because it IS indeed a problem, there are waaaay too many outstanding orders out there from people that don’t want the item, they just want to resell it.

Asking the devs for a TP reset.

I find the TP vastly preferable to any trading mechanism I’ve ever seen in any other MMO. It’s superior to other trading mechanisms both in terms of providing a useful way of getting stuff I need for my character, and in terms of giving me a trading minigame to profit from.

That doesn’t mean it can not be perfected.

I find it very, very odd that you can place buy orders without any cost whatsoever. And that you can put up as many buy orders as you want.

Together, these two create imbalances that would easily be fixed by adding a fee for buy orders and/or limit the number of buy orders.

Who sets Gem prices?

in Black Lion Trading Co

Tallis.5607

I tried to answer the question if I prefer free market, but it’s an impossible question if you do not know the current system.

How many gems are bought by players with dollars?
How many gems are bought by players with gold?
How many gems are saved by players?
And most importantly, how are the current prices set?

-If a player buys 800 gems with dollars, does the price of gems in gold goes up?

-If a second player buys 800 gems with 4 gold, does the price of gems in gold goes up?

- When that player then spends 800 gems on a bag upgrade, will this affects the price of gems in gold?
