Either way, I just booked a vacation day.

I SWEAR ON DWAYNA’S BREASTS

I don’t want to think of Dwayna’s breasts… she is pretty old and I am pretty sure she could use whirlwind to take us all down a peg.

Tears.5627

They did, and I’m not even so sure that if they introduce the mantle they will be fighting against us. What if they are trying to counter the Aetherblades?

The Mursaat are also known as:
“Bringers of Wisdom”
“Eyes That Watch All”
“Silent Saviors of Kryta”
“The Divine Caretakers”

From GW1 Mursaat wiki entry

Why would the Mursaat counter the Aetherblades? They are jerks who murdered people and stole their souls to keep themselves in power. If anything they would probably be working with the Aetherblades to get rid of The Shining Blade, who defeated them last time.

Would be epic if it turns out the Mursaat were keeping the dragons pacified and our guys in gw1 just went and severely damaged the balance the mursaat created which leads up to GW2. =) The road to hell is paved with good intentions type of approach. It needed to happen but we made things worse by mistake.

I think we need a breather from PvE Living Story. It feels like a chore sometimes to keep up with the challenging parts of living story like Liadri. PvP Could use some attention however. I am thinking alliance battles, 8 v 8 or 16 v 16. New game types like capture the flag, survival where each person has 1 life and can be revived by teammates. Have the new game types have their own map cycle that are larger maps with secret passageways or multiple tiers of elevation. When jumping was announced and i saw a video of a thief on top of a building shooting down i was excited to have that type of gameplay. It feels like a little bit of that was lost as the game progressed.

It could be the other way round, too. I mean, who knows if Evon supporters are not just a very vocal minority?
There are many players that don’t even read the forums, and many others are just forum lurkers. Just a few people actually post. I would like to know the real percentage, though. Like, how many people vote for each candidate instead of how many votes were deposited in the urns.

True but then we would know. The people not visiting forums could get an in game mail like they did with the vote ticket, double click to use. Just 1 ticket. If Evon loses he loses. At least then it is “balanced.”

Why is Dhuumfire OP?

in Necromancer

Posted by: Tears.5627

Tears.5627

Yeah I don’t think that Dhuumfire itself is OP at all.
It was probably intended mostly for Hybrid builds, which atm aren’t used much.
Dagger/Dagger with Well of Corruption for example.

The new Doom Fear duration + Spectral Wall buff + Signet of Spite buff + Dhuumfire = all that stuff just adds-up into a mix that allows for very OP builds.
And let’s not forget Greater Marks making Marks unblockable.
Many Professions depend on blocks (more or less) and Marks just completely ignore them.

Honestly I don’t think that Dhuumfire needs a nerf.
I think that Terror does.

Terror doesn’t need that much damage anymore now that you can combine it with Torment and Burning.

If Dhuumfire got nerfed only the Terror builds would continue to use it, other builds wouldn’t bother touching it anymore.

Your post leads me to think that you have no idea what a condition necromancer should be all about- Hint: not an engineer clone nor a dhuumfire +terror bursty condition spammer. Nerfing terror will force every condition necromancers to play the cookie cutter build. Please name any VIABLE CONDITION builds other than 30/20… that use dhuumfire without terror. Now name me any VIABLE CONDITION builds that use terror without dhuumfire. Exactly.

I don’t use Dhuumfire and my build is not built around terror. I use fear to allow myself more time for CD on skills and allow endurance to build up to dodge a little more. Drives me nuts when someone speced for terror burns his CD and can’t do anything anymore but die in place. Too many people jumped on the bandwagon.

You misunderstood my post.

This thread still needs to pick an answer for it’s question.

Make HoM AP additive for rewards and subtractive from leaderboards. Or make 2 leaderboards. Or one leaderboard with a tab to do the calculations. Or devise the epitome of evil plans to have those points retracted in it’s entirety. [insert evil laugh]

To answer a question there needs to be a question mark. XD The achievement boost is intentional.

I find it eerie that it took 7 pages to change that, and worse yet 9 pages without one decent evil plan to take away those points. We need Frizz to hatch one to make this thread popcorn worthy. Something cruel and punishable with a high risk and a low reward. Something so diabolical that it would be on par with the Aetherblades nuking Loins Arch and erasing it into dust. [insert evil laugh]

What condi removal?

I use consume conditions

On your… warrior?

I use mending and have restorative strength traited. Restorative strength tics before the heal skill is cast so it can remove a few cover conditions like weakness and chill if fighting a necro. Like i said this is my least favorite. There is also signet of stamina if you really want to go all out condition removal.

While this is very true, many Warriors are well equipped to taking down Necromancers, these tips only work against glassy 30/30/10/0/0 Necromancers. Not against more long-term fighting Terrormancers. Kindia is a kitten ed good Warrior, and a personal friend of mine, and he defeats Necromancers all day, but fails against me quite often.

It all depends on a number of variables.

I am not a fan of terrormancers. Terror has been around since release and by turning a crap utility into a fear wall they made a terror build viable. I am not opposed to fear damage being dialed down a little but a full nerf would kill the best CC we have access to. The biggest problem is the Terror/Dhuumfire combo. On another note player skill is slowly starting to become a HUGE factor in who can defeat whom. We are not there yet though where skill is THE defining factor.

it really depends on pvp or wvwvw.

If its pvp, then I will tell the OP that you never really played a warrior.

If its wvwvw, then this guy is a boss

https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/professions/warrior/Video-Skulls-N-Bones-WvW-Solo-Warrior

i feel its kinda sad that warriors need overpowered food buff sometimes

I only went into PvP a few times. I run the traditional condition build that is not focused on fears. Focus fire in sPvP is the way to go and in tournaments it is better to cap and avoid a necro in 1v1. I am not the best warrior in PvP but I can 1v1 a conditionmancer and 2v1 a terrormancer as I call targets on them and we hunt them down in 2’s. to make sure they can’t support their team. I will happily admit I am the crappiest Mesmer in the game…..

Depends on the Warrior and the build. The Mace/Shield and GS setup does very well at taking out Necromancers in my experience. Running -20% condi duration rune, Berserker Stance for 8s of condi immuninity, Sig of Stamina for a full condi cleanse, and Mending for -2 condi on the heal, Balanced Stance for stability….and packed full of a ridiculous amount of dazing and stuns into a lot of burst. It is a very effective Necro and Engi killer due to their lack of stability options.

This! Sorry I have not responded lately. Work has me doing double shifts. It all comes down to how well you use the class. People complain too much about terror but Stability drops it off fast.

I think the important bit is to realize that when your bar fills up with red icons it’s a sign that you should start playing defensively and running away. I’ve had so many people continue to try to chase me when they could have just used their gap closers to build some range, heal up, and come kill me.

Once Doom, Spectral Wall, and Fear Mark are down I’m basically just spamming auto attack and hoping nobody noticed that I’m out of CC. It’s not like I’ve got a bunch of Vigor or Stability or anything. 2 dodges and I’m a punching bag for an uncomfortably long time.

I agree completely. XD

Tears.5627

I just thought I would let everyone know that there are weaknesses to terrormancer and conditionmancer builds. Warriors have access to most ways to rip a necro apart.

1. Condition Removal- This is rough and you need a lot of it because Necromancers can drop a tank on you with bleeds. This is my least favorite method. Also for those of you saying we throw out blind, most of the time it is not even on the bar. I personally run Locust Signet, Corrupt Boon, and Epidemic with my elite skill being Flesh Golem for a little bit of CC to save me from some 2 to 1 fights.

2. Crowd Control- Necromancers have very little stability. If we run DS stability our damage takes a hit as conditionmancers. You will find very few with DS stability traited. That leaves us or well of power. 1 second stability. pfft.

3. Focus Damage- I know we don’t run much Lich Form anymore so we are not MASSIVE beacons of KILL ME but put a target over their head. Necromancers have a hard time peeling off extra conditions and DS is paper when it comes to a “second life bar.”

4. By far the most important- Be aware of the skills used. I saw a terrormancer down 3 people due to them not seeing the fear wall and running into it a few times. Then they ran into the fear mark followed by torment and more fear.

Warriors, you are the best equipped imo to handle necromancers. Traited for condition removal and CC warriors are formidable. I got knocked down 3 times last night and then immobilized by a thief with my condition removal on CD. Took 100 blades to the face and it was over.

Why are thieves the least versatile?

in Thief

Posted by: Tears.5627

Tears.5627

It just seems like thieves are getting worse and worse, while other classes keep getting better and better. I understand that there are other classes that could use a little buff here and there, but this is about thieves. When it comes to the patch notes it seems like we go one step forward and two steps back. Minor issues and abilities get improved while more essential things get downgraded.

The “kings” of GW2 seem to be (in my opinion) Guardians, Warriors, Mesmers, and Necromancers. I say this because these are the classes that have a good amount of survivability while still being capable of dishing out massive damage if traited properly. These classes can also provide a massive amount of support in PVE or PVP situations. Warriors can “tank” dungeons or Zerk their ways through them. Guardians can “tank” and also provide decent support. Mesmers have practical abilities that can be useful in dungeons. Necros (after the recent patch) are just deadly and can CC amazingly.

In my opinion, thieves are only good for about 3 things:

1. High damage. Thieves are able to hit like trucks if traited properly, but most of the time it comes at the cost of low survivability.

2. Medics (Revivers) : Thieves have the ability to stealth downed allies and easily bring them back up.

3. “Run throughs”: With the help of Shadow Refuse, a group can easily avoid any mob that’s in their way.

While I honestly have no issues with how the thief works in dungeons, my main issue is that there are so few viable builds for PVE and PVP. I’ve tried, on several occasions to create other builds; builds that could be more useful but they would usually fall flat.

Here’s an example: I absolutely love the thought of p/p. It use to be very good in PVP situations, but recently I’ve noticed that it’s beginning to lack a little something something. A p/p build requires fast, high bursts of damage through the use of the Unload ability. THATS IT! It can do absolutely nothing else. There are other abilities in the p/p line that MIGHT help in certain situations but more of them do little to nothing to aid in difficult situations. I find myself using 2 of the abilities (besides the number 1 skill); #3 and #5. Yet these abilities come at a high price of initiative and can’t be use as often, but that’s because they are so useful. The #2 and #4 skills can also take a lot of initiative, but fall flat in terms of usefullness.

This is just one of the many builds I’ve tinkered with. I’ve tried venoms (some what worthless). Stealing (worthless). Traps (worthless). So many useless abilities that are just wasting space.

By no means am I saying that other classes need a debuff, but I am saying that certain things about the thief need to be altered in order for viable builds to be made. Like WHY ARE VENOMS NOT IN THE TRAIT LINE THAT OFFERS CONDITION DAMAGE!?!?! SERIOUSLY!

If anyone has been successful in creating an uncommon build, please feel free to share!

I see ANet genuinely trying to buff up the condition builds for Thieves. Sadly they undershot, probably due to fear of “making thieves too powerful.” The same crap reason we Necromancers got for the first 10 months of not having diversity, working skills, viable traits, and working minion AI.

Stealth Haters

in Thief

Posted by: Tears.5627

Tears.5627

We are not hated for our damage so much as the fact we can mangage our abilities to control the fight.

I have other lvl80s that are ok to play..but in WvW give me my thief.

Just the sheer enjoyment of Steal>CnD> BackStab…insert other dmg..dropping a foe in the middle of a hostile supply camp & escaping is more rewarding than zerging on my other 80s.

But..steal must work right..no blade of grass to trip my *teleport up.
No revealed defuff..it’s been 5 seconds +…hmmm, why can’t I restealth. Dang..it still blew my cool downs on my skills..dodge>dodge>..hope for evades..

I’v had friends over at my house watching me do the “thief” thing.
The most common comment is about how finicky some of my skills can be.
The second is “Dude…they need to just AOE instead running around doing nuthin”

Within the next month they get a thief to 80..call me and say..“This is to much work, I’m gonna run my (insert) and run with the zerg.”

As a thief we don’t fight our enemies battles..we choose to be patient and strike at a time of our choosing even if it’s just do distract the zerg to give our guys time to deploy.

Players get mad if you give them the slip..understandably..even though they didn’t die ..no meat taste sweeter than roasted thief..except maybe messmer kabobs (imho).

If a stealth “fix” came into effect would Anet..buff another area or two of thief abilities.
ie:
One minute revealed..but we get a BackStab buff of huge damage or BackStab ANYTIME we are behind an enemy.

Or more teleports tied into attacks..to steal a trick of messmers your enemies also drop target..

Or true Permenant stealth..on till you attack..no “tricks or skill combos”..lazy mode stealth..man that would be nice.

The tears of QQs would be tasty as they eat crow.

Thieves are not the WvW gods you make us out to be, we are more like the devil feeding you lies to make you think we are.

But with a lil bit’o love by Anet to appease the tears of QQ’s …we could be.

Most of us that know what we are doing don’t think Stealth is OP anymore. They fixed the flaws with it which was culling issues and 1 shot back stabs. I like fighting a thief. Gives me a rush win or lose because I have a 50/50 chance of facing someone competent in PvP. Some of us live off of challenge after all and improve instead of “OMG NERF!” =) Is it still irritating when one gets away? yes. Do I cry for days or lose sleep? nope.

500 AP for GW1 Hall of Monuments Intended?

The strange thing everyone who brings this ‘problem’ up seems to assume is: “you played GW1 so you automatically have 500 freeby points”…

Hah! I finished all three campaigns and EotN, plus played a few months extra and I’m not even at 20 out of the 50 HoM points. The people kicking up sand assume it’s all kittens and giggles…

Seriously, GW2 players think they know what grind is. Go grind the insane amount of points you need to get reputation titles. Have a look what it takes to grind the weapons and prestige armors needed. Go battle the hard mode dungeons and the realm of Torment.

If you knew what it takes to get those 500 APs, then you’d understand those players earned it. And to compare the effort to gain the 500 AP from HoM to what it takes to get 500 in this game… it’s a joke.

I got the Drunkard title before you could spam it. That was true grinding. =)

Exactly! I got the explorer title before there was textmod or players sharing maps to compare. We had to kill every single creature in every single map in the original game and all the expansions in hard mode. We had to do every mission and every bonus within those missions in both standard and hard mode. If the whiners think it is so easy, then let them pay the $40.00 for all 4 games and get the titles themselves.

I got my dungeon titles after the shadow form nerf, HAH!

But seriously, the drunk title took some dedication before they changed it. /bow Now tell me you did it without disabling post-processing effects and I’ll be really impressed!

Naturally. =) I always found it fun to have a wavy screen while running UW on my Necro with a fellow 55 Monk. XD

I also got my Drunkard and Ale Hound titles while doing full Underworld runs with a blurry screen… on my Monk healer. My party would get mad at me when Dhuum nearly wipes us.

Thanks for the bonus chest ArenaNET,

to those seriously thinking that the achievement points is the true measure of skill in this game, you made me laugh out loud.

All of them come down to time and dedication. That is why I am happy to have the extra points.

Time and dedication? After you have a reasonable number of points, you can advance by 19 a day.

OH GOD, SO AWSOME PROGRESSION.

Seriously, people are grinding numbers to make a bar 99% of the game population doesn’t care about, to be the top 3 in a list that only a tiny fraction of people care about.

1000+ hours is time and dedication. I did it pre nerfs when the achievements were difficult for GW1. I am not against what you are saying with people taking AP too seriously. Should GW1 vets get a thanks for their making GW2 possible? I think so. This is a small way of them doing just that. I am talking exclusively about GW1 not the very easy AP earned in GW2 by simply doing dailies.

The shame on losing these players would be on those greedy, selfish and arrogant GW1 players who were not satisfied with having played a good game and being rewarded but think they deserve more and even more free rewards in GW2 just because they spent a lot of time in GW1 already.

And it is not greedy, selfish, and arrogant how people are complaining that the people who made it possible for GW2 to even be made should have AP returned back to a pathetic 2 points per tier? This is the final nail in the achievements-are-meaningless coffin. Trouble is, achievements now give rewards, which raises this from an ignorable bug in the game to an issue.

I have a friend who I would compete with for achievement point earning. It’s no longer a competition when someone gets handed the victory on a HoM-engraved silver platter.

Once again. Before we knew that Mesmers were a returning profession to the game, we knew that Anet was going to reward HoM awards in GW2. That was basically the purpose of HoM. I’m not sure why or how you never got that memo, but before ANY of the betas and before all of the professions were announced, we knew this fact.

We knew before the release of GW:EN even thanks to Gaile and The Frog. =)

500 AP for GW1 Hall of Monuments Intended?

Tears.5627

Ha ha ha. You want GW2 players whining about GW1 achievments to go play GW1? Funny joke. These noobs wouldn’t make it far enough to unlock hard mode.

Too bad they can’t do THK before the nerf to it. XD

Begging for Mesmer Portals in JP's

Hello!

I just had to endure two people crying for a mesmer for their JP for the better half of an hour.

Mind=Blown

When I questioned why this guy was so eager to complete this JP he replied with “For the achievement, so I can get skins and gear”.

/facepalm

A completionist that wants it on a silver platter.

The reason I’m posting this is so I can A ) Share this thorn in my eye and B ) So I can pose the question, isn’t this incredibly counter-productive? On one side you’ve got the developers and they’re faulty for letting this happen and on the other side, the players in question that would rather fuss and cry for an hour over doing the puzzle themselves.

I agree that some people who ask for ports for AP should do their own JP. When people are in a hurry though we port to chests. My Mesmer is parked at one in LA. People are nice enough to tip. =)

The devs, maybe. But, do you think ANet would have succeeded at GW2 without the new players that joined up playing a new game?
So, on the contrary, all GW1 players should be very thankful for every non-gw1 player joining in GW2 to support Anet by buying the game and maybe some gems so that Anet can continue to support the GW(1+2) players and keep their favorite world open and alive!.

Actually, we GW1 players would have been much better off without all the “new” players who seem to only want the game to be what they want, which is a clone of every other game out there. Anet had the sales from the GW1 players already. They where assured to make a profit. Most of the “new” players had no clue what they where purchasing and have done nothing but complain about “features” that “every other MMO” have so the devs have had to make changes from almost the start to accommodate them.

Oh don’t go speaking the truth like that. It might hurt the babies ears

I hear the crying already.

These achievements are now giving 50 AP per completed achievement instead of the previous 2, is this a bug or working as intended.

Personally i think these should not reward any AP at all, (just titles + perks) as i feel i shouldn’t be forced to play GW1 to remain highscore competitive on GW2.

I’m not gonna lie…I read this and puked in my mouth a little bit.

As someone who has not played GW1, I have to agree it is quite unfair. The 20 AP it gave before was an insignificant amount, so I guess that was fine, but 500 is way too much, heavily influencing the achievement leaderboards.

And no ANet, this won’t make me buy and play GW1!

I played GW1 and have supported ANet with my business since release. I found it terribly depressing coming over to GW2 to find I got hardly any AP from Hall of Monuments and the rewards from them to be a little bland. This makes it a little more worth spending 1000+hours on GW1.

Collection of Constructive Feedback

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Tears.5627

I am starting a post on this as in many forums we go off track or let our passion for the game turn very easily into rage. Please only post constructive comments that are not asking for nerfs but are more geared towards what you like and why you want to see more of that or what you had a bad experience with that you would like to not happen again. I will be alternating between good and bad.

I will start us off. =)
1) Achievement Rewards- Fantastic idea. We love this as we are getting rewarded for playing the game and completing challenges.
2) Limited time events that are tied into the open world- Not the best move kitten many things can and have gone wrong with this. It just takes 1 person giving misinformation or trolling to kill this for so many people. The Fireworks for example.
3) Challenging Dungeons- Aetherblade Retreat was AMAZING. The dungeon was all about teamwork which we really needed. A few glitches in the beginning but they were fixed promptly.
4) Limited time dungeons with hard to complete achievements- Not the greatest idea. I got lucky to run with a solid group that knew how to masterfully use their classes. It was about 10 runs over the week and we could do it while sleeping. This was not the case for when my friends and family tried it. They got people that would go down off the map to get personal space or just had no idea how to maintain survival AND damage for Unfriendly Skies.
5) Trying to bring interest to barely visited areas- Good Idea. We need more people interested in other locations to allow variety in play. Can’t always solo a champion after all in an empty map.
6) Putting a PvE achievement in a WvW map- I am 50/50 on this. The intention was good, the JP is fun and challenging, and I enjoyed helping people complete it. The negative is when the servers changed we had people camping the JP. Can you stealth? yes. Does it matter when AoE is all over the jumps? no. I tried to help my wife on the JP and we had a staff guard and a staff necro up top. Yay to fear and knockback.
7) Keeping us updated via your website- good even though at times the info is too obscure to decipher into anything that sounds promising. Keeping me guessing keeps me interested in things to come for the game but when describing the long term goals there is mass confusion and fear of nerfs all over the place.
8) Responding to 80-90% of the threads that are praising ANet and the other 10-20% of actual problems- Bad. We don’t need an explanation on a fix or anything. A simple post like “We see what you guys are saying and we will look into it” is all we need. Everyone has a voice and ANet can’t respond to all of them and I know that. People deserve just as much love for being kitten ed off over something as the people who love everything you do.

Why we are being viewed as "OP."

in Necromancer

Tears.5627

Vitality isn’t supposed to be a hard counter its supposed to act as a buffer. Counters to condition aside from having high health is having access to condition clears and regenerative bonuses like regen and certain traits.

conditions weren’t considered op before nor was terror.

the thing is the way conditions work makes the added burning trait very strong.
the access to a spike of burning without needing a skill to add to the rotation is what makes it so powerful. having 10+ stacks of bleed with poison and burning while both being disabled by fear and having it hit hard because of terror is what makes it so strong.

before without burning it was hardly considered op, yet with the sudden addition of burning people have started complaining about terror and even consume conditions when clearly the issue is how fast the damage ramps in the 30/30/10 build

if burning was attached to a skill instead it wouldn’t ramp as fast or simply changing it to torment would allow for a slower ramp while still having the nice easy reapplication of conditions so thakittens not as weak as prepatch

I would not mind losing burning honestly. I like my build like it was before and I kept it where it was with the addition of DS 5. Fear is our only counter to nonstop melee to death. I got k/d by a warrior in pvp 4 times in a row and died as he had a thief partnered with him. We only have access to crap stability so CC is the way to go.

Why we are being viewed as "OP."

in Necromancer

Tears.5627

With addition of a new condition called torment and access to burning, some classes do not have enough condition removal to remove other important conditions like poison, bleeds, fear (terror traited). Torment, cripple and other condition are shielding more damaging conditions such as burning or stacking bleeds.

This post is very disturbing. People played so long vs underpowered Necromancers they now feel they have the right to remove every condition a Necro puts on them because they once could.

That is the whole reason Necromancers were underpowerd in the first place! Why they needed a buddy like an Engi always with them to lay cover conditions, it was not a self contained class. (And need a buddy to peel for them being focused – still a problem if they don’t kill the opponent(s) super fast).

A condition Necromancer is getting about 75% of their damage from conditions, you are not supposed to be able to remove every single one.

That would be like if a warrior’s opponent could negate 75% of their direct damage.

Now you have to actually pay attention to what is on you and carefully choose when and what to remove, instead of just spamming a removal whenever you see any condition, which used to get the job done vs Necro sadly.

I don’t quite agree… I agree that it felt a bit clunky to have nearly all your damage depending on bleeds…

But yeah… I got easily a stack of about 10 bleeds up in 5 secs… The best multiple condition cleans have a cooldown of roughly 20 seconds…

I applied poison, chill and cripple to cover my bleeds and when the right moment came, boom, doom and fear mark and my opponent was dead. The only way to counter this was burning stun breakers and all cleanses which left the opponent open for conditions again…

Conditionmancers didn’t need any more damage, they needed survibility to have a chanse of avoiding a focus of 2+ people.

Instead ANet decided to basically give us torment (= 4.5 bleed stacks, about +500dps for 10 sec) and a 50% damage increase to doom (with terror, for me that is about +1.5k damage) when close to your opponent, which is nearly in every case. Not increasing the survivability which we lack but the damage we already had.

As a necromancer player, I do not think it is balance to push all players to have a full condition cleanse build just because of one profession being in the game

Doom never had damage applied unless traited and terror has always been around and has not been buffed. It was moved to the master tier. The duration of fear from doom got an increase in duration based off of how close they are to us. Statements like these make me think people are just jumping on the necro bandwagon. I agree some of our attacks hit really hard but if people want to know how to counter the conditionmancer on their class they can send me a whisper in game or a pm on the forums. I am more than happy to help.

it’s just funny that you tell me that doom doesn’t do any damage without terror ^.^

do you guys read whole posts and follow the threads or just randomly read some highlights?

as a power necro; i can tell you that my doom does damage (not much; but it does)

edit for pic

My bad. I guess it does. That damage is so intense man. ;p
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Doom
People should stop the crying over dooms stand alone damage though.

ikr? (i was just being pedantic)
- but it is useful for instantly getting someone in combat from range (meaning they cant wp whilst feared – which would particularily annoying on borderlands, if you managed to drop them)

True but most CC does the trick. I don’t know why people want fear nerfed to the ground as it is one of our only CC other than flesh golem kd and sprectral grasp and those skills are meh.

Plague Signet Worthless - Anyone Use it?

in Necromancer

Posted by: Tears.5627

Tears.5627

I’ve played around with Plague Signet a bit in zergs and it seems pretty worthless overall. It pulses a bit slowly and doesn’t seem to really draw enough conditions to be beneficial to the team. If anything, it seems to do more harm than good, as you need to wait a while to get enough conditions drawn before you can unload them.

I’d like to offer a suggestion to make this more useful. I’d suggest changing Plague Signet’s passive effect to something like: increase boon duration by 20%, or increases critical strike chance by 3% or the like. For the active, I’d make it draw “x” conditions per player around you, up to a total of “y” (e.g. 3 per player, up to 20 conditions). Activating the signet again within “Z” (5?) seconds transfers the conditions.

I used it in beta and a bit after release until I noticed it was copy and pasting conditions instead of removing them from allies. I traded for wells after that.

Does it still do that?

It hasn’t done this for months and months but people still keep bringing it up.

Don’t mean anything by it. I simply gave my reason for removing it from my skill bar and not going back. =)

Hello,
IF YOU ASK A QUESTION AND THE ANSWER YOU GET IS NOT FROM ME, DISREGARD IT. IT IS JUST ANOTHER OPINION THAT LACKS MERIT AND THUS NOT ACCURATE. With that being said
I’m looking for competent players who want to run dungeons. Knowledge is not needed but the ability to play your class is essential. Looking to put together people who are good. Message me in game if you are interested in running successful dungeons instead of just wiping.

If you message me, I’ll add you to my community friend’s list. You will need to play with me for me to judge you ( and you to judge me). If you are not up to par, I am going to kick you from the guild.
COMPETENT PLAYERS ONLY
My end goal is a playerbase that is ready for the raids that come into GW2. Players that can play together and have played together is essential.
Welcome to The Warcamp [Rome]!

SERVER : North America

EDIT: Quality over quantity.
Still need: FOTM 38 users with good attitudes and ability to not be carried.

I just had a kid so I run 1 or 2 dungeons a week. I could use a good guild for dungeons but I hope the attitude is not as intense as the post. XD

So was doing CoF P1 with some randoms and was trying some different builds for my Warrior. This build was mostly glass cannon, so I was a little squishy. My crits were very nice! (This is after being given a hard time that I was not doing enough DPS for Cof P1. Do people use stop watches for these runs?) Anyhow, I downed a few times, not dead, just downed and rallied. The leader says “Go down one more time and I kick you.” Sure enough I go down where you need to guard the 5 flame things. I had 6 on me. Kicked. Ugh.

A little while later, I re-build a little more tankier. Go back in Cof P1, join with a different group of randoms. One guy noticed I’m laying out Battle Standard and Banner of Tactics banners and says “I’m kicking you for those banners. This is no place for healers like you” Kicked.

Man… We were still get it done around the 10 min mark.

What has this game come to?

I know one of the biggest problems for people and temporary content was not being able to get the achievements in the limited time you were given (If they were luck based or skill based)

Now it seems, if you go into the historical tab in the achievements it only shows the achievements that you unlocked and not the ones you missed; I really hope this is intended because this has put my mind at rest A LOT. (Unless I have missed something)

It means I can go for the achievements and get the ones I find possible without having the ones I failed to get (as such with the Sky Pirate Dungeon Achievements) hanging over my head forever.

Posting here as well for those who don’t go to the PvP forums:

Necros have gone almost a year without really having much use for Spectral Wall. Now that they’ve made the spell useful, everyone is crying for nerfs. Friends, I’m here to prove that this spell simply cannot be considered overpowered based on the fact that as long as you don’t walk directly into it, it cannot harm you. I spent a few hours over the weekend deliberately placing Spectral Wall at easy to avoid moments just to see how often people would ignore game mechanics and stand in the fire. Fear not, I’ve also included footage of people rendering Spectral Wall useless. No offense intended to anyone who might be in the vid, just having some fun.

Thank you so much. This is definitely something for ANet to take into consideration when they give in to the majority and make us useless necro’s again for 10 months. At least we will have our fear wall. sigh =)

This should be taken as a good sign. Maybe without the Sigil of Paralyzation skewing things, Fear won’t need to be nerfed directly (or nerfed as hard) in the August balance patch. Making this change now means they have the opportunity to observe the Necro’s performance for a few weeks before pushing further changes live.

Are Necro’s the most OP levelers??! I made a Necro a week ago and have been playing on and off to level 30, I run with a staff in one slot and the Scepter/Dagger combo in the other. I typically try to pull as many mobs as I can while im running around, sometimes up to 6 and then drop massive AOE with both combos while kiting and everything drops fast! Seems to be the easiest class to level.

Thoughts?

Can one really be OP at leveling? Please don’t tell me you want to level slower.
