Yeah…sure really friendly in pve i haven’t seen a worse rage or flaming than, when some events fail, like people’s lives depend on a bag or a yellow item, in pve because it’s first time people do them, instead of someone being helpful to them. Guild wars 2 community sucks just like every other multiplayer game the only thing you can do is disable map chat and block whenere someone whispers you.
I completely DISAGREE with you. For the most part, the community is great (in PVE). I have no idea about PvP because I no longer play it.

One of my guildies and friends who I sold the game on told me this morning that he loves the stories. It’s obvious that the devs work very <hard> on this game. They are making decisions that are the best for the game. There are other games out there for people who don’t like it. At the same time, those game devs aren’t going to change either.
Since when is the word <hard> a bad word. Are we in grade school?

So apparently everytime someone puts on a hat, our hair completely disappears, this really just makes players not want to wear said hats, for example, the ringmasters hat is cool, but my asura loses his great hair when i put it on, i’m sure this isn’t that difficult to do so the hair stays where the hat doesn’t touch or something?
The “it’s not that difficult” comment… have you ever tried to do it? Have you ever seen it done well in some game, namely one with this game’s level of graphics?
To do it they’d have to somehow block out just the hair that would clip, well then we move, so that changes.
It’s not so easy.
Vindictus, Aeon, Tera, even SWTOR. And Black Desert, Blade & Soul, Bless, Kingdom Under Fire 2, and many upcoming/possible releases also do this without issue.
SWTOR does not do it without issue. SWTOR does bald which is why I will never put hats on my characters.

I don’t understand why people choose Sylvari just to make them look human. They can be made to look really cool and unique but 9 out of 10 Sylvari all use the same human face and humanish hair.
My Sylvari look very alien which is very cool. That’s the best thing about the race. There’s nothing like a poison green Sylvari necromancer.

I’m sure no one is forcing you to rep but honestly, if you don’t rep, why should a guild leader have you in their guild. Dungeon spots go to regular guild members over those who only rep once in a while. Guild leaders have to make choices for their guild. Those choices impact the entire guild. To rep or not to rep is your decision, to have you in the guild is the guild leader’s decision.

As a guild leader, I don’t like the one guild at a time. I think they should completely remove the represent and let you represent automatically all 5 guilds like they do in ESO. In ESO, there are chat buttons for all 5 guilds, you can chat with everyone, you can play with all of them. That is the best system I have seen in any game.
Not to mention, I think they should completely abolish influence. If you want a guild hall, fight together to get it. If you want stuff in your guild hall, fight together to earn it. Don’t have influence based on who logs on and represents which guild. There should be no influence. It would make alliances and guilds more enjoyable for everyone.

the new animation looks awful. I use bomb kit all the time. I don’t want to see my engineer running around carrying this huge bomb. I prefer the back pack. Why did you change it? It needs to be changed back or put something completely different. Right now it’s just plain bad.

Honestly getting sick of people kittening about the price. It’s a fair price. They have no idea how much work went into it. No one told them to buy it and no one is telling them to buy it when it comes out. They want to get it cheap, wait for 6 months. The price will come down.

Frankly, only people with more money than brains pre-purchase anything. I have never done that…not for software, not for hardware (reserve your iPhone bullkitten is ridiculous). Essentially you are getting, except for the Gems and the slot, some Barbie-dressup stuff to pretty up your cartoon.
Really? Now, if they gave me something useful (infinite upgrade extractor, for instance, or an awesome ascended weapon of my choice) then maybe.
I’ll wait until the dust settles…until I read about the new maps and the “verticality” of it (I hate jumping puzzles, so not really a draw for me). I will wait until I see that the patches have slowed down and the cycle goes back to some semblance of order.

I think the price point will be reasonable but before I order I need to know:
1/ If it will run at a decent performance on my PC
2/ That Anet will do right by those people who bought AFTER the expac announcement and upgrade them to HoT for free
3/ That the content within is worth the value.
Those are my priorities in that order. I don’t care about doing the betas since I would rather wait till full release, and I dont care about titles, so prepurchase offers nothing to me.
What does matter is whether or not my PC will have a tantrum if I try to run HoT at or near high quality.
Why would Anet do #2? I got the base game for a friend for 20.00. Why should people who got the game for 20.00 recently, get HOT for free? That would kitten me off and I bought the ultimate xpac. So I bought the original game at 60.00, I bought friends the original game at between 20.00 and 60.00 and bought the ultimate xpac yet I don’t think I should be getting anything for free.

I and many others have over 1500 hrs of play time and that was with taking a break at times. You’ll get your money’s worth out of the base game. In fact, I believe that I’m going to get my money’s worth out of the expansion.

Fraud is always news. The ICC is so specific to GW2 I wouldnt be able to explain it to someone that doesn’t play. Bait and switch is a timeless maneuver though. Anet went oldschool.

It’s not difficult, and IMO is far more newsworthy than the current debacle. Much of a rip off as the packages are, at least customers know what they’re getting (unless they turn the Revenant class off altogether for a couple of years).

You’re not getting anything if you don’t buy it, so don’t buy it. It’s as simple as that. If I don’t like something, I don’t buy it. That’s the mature way to deal with things not moaning and complaining about it when nothing is going to change.
Honestly, if Anet caves and adds a character slot to the 50.00 pack and doesn’t add anything extra to the other packs, those who bought the other packs will be kittened. I paid my 108+ for the ultimate because there was no character slot in the 50.00 pack.

50.00 is 1.00 per hour of play time if you play for 50 hrs and most of us have thousands of hours put into the base game. So, let’s see. We spend 100 hrs playing the new content (the content we have seen is not the only content that will be provided, it’s just a start) that means we get our entertainment for .50 an hour. You spend 200 hrs in the content and it is .25 cents per hour.
Now let’s compare that to a movie since movies are entertainment. It is 15.00 per movie for a 2.5 hr movie. That’s 6.00 per hour of entertainment. If you want to see it again, that’s another 6.00 per hour unless you buy the blu ray and then it’s an extra 30.00 (depending on the movie of course).
Where do you want to spend your entertainment dollars. I love the core game. I love what the devs have done so far and I spoke with my money. My entertainment dollars went to Anet.

Where were you people when everyone was raving about Destiny or Assassin’s Creed: Unity? Or Rage? You were silent then. because people had complaints. And legitimate ones. None of those games were worth the $60 price tag and people were very vocal about it. But no one called those “works of art”. Just terrible games. It’s criticism game designers unfortunately come across.
Of course, I’m not saying “OMG your game suckslol” is the proper response, but if people feel it’s not worth $50, it’s not worth $50. Try harder or drop the price.

That is absolutely not how it works in any MMO that I’ve ever played. The core game is free if you don’t have an account. It is not a bonus. Everyone going forward will get the core game free as long as they purchase HOT and of course, the core game is no longer being sold so they have to purchase HOT. I have no idea why people don’t get it.

Honestly, everyone who is so angry over the price should just not buy it. I think the ultimate was a good deal and purchased it this morning. If you don’t want to support the game, don’t do it. I personally love the game and support it in the store and by buying the xpac. People are angry because the core game is free? You have got to be kidding me.
I buy a vid card now, it’s 700.00. Three years from now that vid card will sell for 200.00. Should I be angry about it. Make sense people. The core game is free. Big deal. I’m a vet, I was in the original beta, I was in early access, but I’m not angry that the core game is free.

I must admit that I spend a ton in the store getting my characters dressed in the finest clothes but the latest outfits have left much to be desired thus I have a suggestion to ANet which would make me spend even more.

ANet should bring back the black wings back pack and make a carbon copy but only in white. I’d buy them both and so would many others that I know.

I’ve spent way too much on outfits. I love them. I’ve bought skins too but skins are only really viable at level 80 since you upgrade your armor way too much while leveling. I would love for them to bring back some of the other stuff. I’d spend more. My necro needs those wings.
Also, there should be no gear in the gem store. There should only be skins. GW is doing it right.

My beast arrived today and I’m picking it up after work, gtx980 4gb, i7 4790 4.4ghz overclocked, 16gb 1866, liquid cooled, and rounding the corner with a 3TB hard drive, adding a 4tb secondary in a couple of months. I can’t wait to play on Ultra.
Such an excellent rig… and then you ruin it completely with a 3TB HDD instead of an SSD. What a waste, what a waste.
