Or just give us 5 guild chat channels and the ability to set a different color for each one.
If you can simultaneously be tuned into the guild chat of all 5 of your guilds, that’ll solve this issue right there.
Elder Scrolls Online has it. If they can do it, anyone can.
RP is telling a story. There is a lot of enjoyment to it.
Trolling is trolling and RPers get trolled more than anyone else in every game. You have to learn to ignore them.
I also don’t think people don’t know you’re RPing. They’re there to troll and they’d troll even if it was an RP server.
Rule #1 Don’t Feed The Trolls

LOL, I want it to make my mac tíre bán look hawwwt, lol! Plus is looks fantastic on my Asura thief.
My beast arrived today and I’m picking it up after work, gtx980 4gb, i7 4790 4.4ghz overclocked, 16gb 1866, liquid cooled, and rounding the corner with a 3TB hard drive, adding a 4tb secondary in a couple of months. I can’t wait to play on Ultra.
I am dying to get my hands on that outfit and I’d pay for it. Are there any rumors or even a possibility that they’ll bring it back?
What if I got down on my knees and begged? smile
I haven’t kicked people from my guild even when they said they aren’t returning. They may some day and we’ll still be here. There are good guilds out there. Too bad you aren’t on NA. I have a very small guild but small guilds make the best guilds if you’re looking for people to play with and a friendly family feel.
yeah, it so does not sound like the crack of a whip.
Wait…for people telling others to just leave, that’s ridiculous. Everyone who plays the game has every right to go every where and kill everything.
To the OP, don’t listen to them. They have no idea what they’re talking about. I can guarantee that no one would tell me where I can or can’t be in a game. Pixel bullying is ridiculous.
so the players who are 40+ years old might not even make it till the last expansion if it continues so slow.
Considering I am 42 years old, kindly go kitten yourself.
Agreed…that was a pathetically stupid comment in the OP. Someone needs to get out of their teens.
If my favorite, the classic Elite Noble, was available in this game, I would roll a mesmer in this game in a heartneat!
That one is gorgeous! I’d put it on my mesmer.
It would not be the first game with weddings. ESO has weddings. For me, the most important thing would be housing. I do have a guild, so guild halls would be nice but those housing instances really are bad.
I really love Lion’s Arch and hope they don’t wreck it again. My guild is the Black Court, a pirate guild. When we had to move out of our city, we weren’t happy. How are we supposed to….trade….
I am female, play 2 female rangers and I hate the look of the legendary, goodness Anet could have done a lot better than that.
I have a feeling they made leveling from 1 to 30 slower because of the Black Lion Key farming.
The key is at the end of the level 20 personal story chapter.
Leveling from 1-15 was made much faster. From there however, leveling returns to the way it was originally. The problem with that however is that from 1-15 you can basically level by only running from heart to heart whereas after that, you must explore or run around to various zones.
The game was not intended to be played like every other quest based MMO. Originally for example, hearts did not exist. You’re meant to explore the map and by 100%’ing it, you should easily be able to keep up in levels.
Honestly, at this stage, I would not recommend this game to someone who solos a lot.
I’ve never played SWToR, I heard it had a decent personal/solo story, but as a soloist, GW2 is the most solo friendly MMO I’ve played due to the lack of forced group content. Unlike other MMOs, GW2 isn’t focused on endgame dungeon/raid/group-only content.
When complaining about traits, keep in mind that the way you unlock individual traits was not a part of the NPE. Only the level at which you first unlock the tier was a part of it. Also keep in mind that leveling from 1 to 15 takes roughly 90 minutes compared to the several hours it used to take, so overall, the changes to when traits, utilities and elites are unlocked isn’t as big as a difference as it first looks.
The character I was leveling was level 15 before I left the game. He is now level 18. He would have had traits already. Traits do make a difference when leveling. I disagree with you. I don’t feel a sense of progression.
As for soloing, I soloed several characters in TOR from 1 to 55. I don’t know what it is about GW2 now, but it’s not the GW2 they presented when it came out, the GW2 we loved during the beta. They changed it and in my opinion, not for the better.
Also keep in mind I am sharing my impressions and when it comes to the people I know, my impressions will determine whether I tell them to play or not play. At this time, I am not recommending this game.

I have every class, every race and it’s all the same. ANet screwed up the game in my opinion. It was much better the first 6 months and that is my opinion. This is far from my first MMO. I came here as a soothing experience and am left with frustration.
Honestly, the NPE needs to be totally eliminated and the game needs to be returned to what it was before, which was a joy to play.
There is no sense of progression. As I level my characters, I am sorely missing all the little story parts that we progressed through. I’m missing the traits, give me back my traits. I wander around aimlessly opening areas and looking for hearts at my level to do and honestly, I don’t know if they reduced the XP or if it’s just that there are no story parts to level through but one of my characters is level 18 and has done all the hearts to level 20 and killed everything in between, done every event more than once and still isn’t at level.
ANet killed the wonder of the game for leveling alts (I have a level 80). In it’s place, they left frustration and boredom. I’m a SWTOR player and there is a sense of progression throughout the game. I don’t have that with GW2. I caught myself looking for a story area today. There was none. Why, because I’m level 18.
Honestly, at this stage, I would not recommend this game to someone who solos a lot. The way it was before NPE, I would have and did recommend it to everyone. Honestly, now, the only fun this game has is to zerg at level 80 in Orr. That was a blast. My friends and I had a great time. I am not having a great time with my characters that are leveling though 1-30.
ANet, what were you thinking. That this would be a good experience for a new player? No, it is not, and I’m being nice about it. You really need to fix the mess you’ve made of it.
Because back in the day the game was released to be a fun to play. Exotics you could get relatively easy and then play for fun. Then 3 months later the game massive grind fest(biggest and worst in the industry) was introduced. This leads to massive boring grinding over and over to get gold or the pay win route to be used to get the best gear in game. Personally I am paying for a MMO. I’m having way more fun exploring the new content in WoW. More content in the Warlords expansion then in the entire living story released to date. And still WAY LESS GRIND lawl. GW2 promised so much and delivered so little.
The really bad part though is how the game was released was awesome. Then they started changing it and ruining it.
I absolutely have to agree. I just came back with my friends and I think the entire NPE is a mess, story not until you reach level 10, why bother doing it. Traits that you don’t start picking up until level 30, ridiculous. There’s nothing in the lower levels to work towards except to grind your way to level 80. They took what was a fantastic game and ruined it.
I find it quite difficult to level my lower level alts and we spent all last night in Orr on our level 80s.
I personally hate the backpacks. Please a cape would be much better.
I play GW2 and SWTOR and SWTOR is way more challenging. In this game, you just have to follow a meta build, know your abilities and watch your step. In SWTOR, you need to know tactics to stay alive especially in the class story areas where you have a ton of elites thrown in (that would be veterans in this game) and you have champions. MMOs were not meant to solo. You need help, ask in /M Someone will come along and help you.
Perfect outfit for an engineer. I love it. Great job ANet!
“I’ll tell you one thing GW2 has done right – I can run this game on a slow crappy PC. That’s a high compliment! Most can’t put a 3k gaming PC together. I might be able to afford Alienware in a year or two but for now GW2 is the only recent game I’m able to run on my Windows Vista.”
Absolutely, I can run the game on a netbook and do character changes, etc.
ANet is always going to have people who don’t spend anything in the gem store, then they will have people like me. I just came back to the game and spent 100.00 on gems, more bank space, costumes, hairstyle and total make over kits. They need to make money and they have to balance that with the content that comes out.
I haven’t purchased any of the LS content because I only have 1 level 80 character and honestly, I don’t know if it’s worth it for the story. I don’t find the character stories all that intriguing and wait until I’m level 80 to do them all at once.
A sub won’t work and it will make people leave by the droves. A membership club that gives me gems, exclusive minis, exclusive outfits, etc, would definitely work for me and I’d support them in that way.
I came back and brought 4 people with me. It’s a great game and so relaxing coming from TOR where it’s a constant battle to get nodes, complete bonus quests, etc. We play both and I find GW2 extremely refreshing. I left because my friends left. I brought them back. We’re looking forward to leveling together again and doing dungeons again.
In other words, it does not take an expansion to bring people back. It only takes a good friend to say “Hey, let’s give the game a chance again. I’m loving it, come play with me.”
I logged in to find after almost a year to find my ranger’s traits refunded and the new system in place.
First, let me say that I do think it will be easier for new players to learn how to pick traits.
Second, I think doing events for traits is a good thing…honestly, fun to do them with your guild.
Third, MMOs change all the time. SWTOR, the game we play most often, is completely redoing their abilities in an expansion coming out on December 1st. I know most people will hate it but there are things you have to get used to in life or go somewhere else..such as, my company selling our division to another company and we have no say in it. You change or you leave….goes for real life and the game.
Was In Beta and Played For Six Months…..
Wow, what a change a year makes. I’m bringing my guild back with me and I have to say, I’m in love with the living world and the LA is Burning is fantastic. I don’t know when I’ve had so much fun. We’re still playing SWTOR, but we have room in our lives for two games and the improved GW2 is that second game.
I wanted to say to the devs (if they aren’t like SWTOR’s and don’t read the forums), awesome work guys. Really…kudos.
