all things point towards specializations being an alternative to the base class, not an upgrade. you can still remain an elementalist, or you can specialize into whatever comes for eles, earn some new tricks, and lose some old ones.

I don’t mind “loosing some tricks” but I do mind which one I’ll loose. That’s why I’m a little worried when I hear that initially we will be given only one specialisation.

I am afraid that the specialisations will backfire and actually limit my experience. I main an Ele which is a master of versatility and it looks like that the specialisations will offer less gameplay options for me. What I wanted is something that expands the abilities of my class and it sounds like they’ll just limit them because we get only ONE specialisation with HoT release. Thoughts?

The funny thing is that if you want to use their skills – you must have a target and be in combat otherwise they just fail. Ele doesn’t have a viable elite for now.

What definition of “viable” are you using?

Let me share my view on the Elementalis elites (in PvE): Tornado is basically a death trap, GoE is very, very situational – only Earth Elemental is beneficial to the team… and Air Elemental doesn’t even give swiftness although it should (it’s bugged since… forever). And FGS? It was bad before the change and only reason to use it was to DPS bosses in dungeons because it lacked the general damage (I can easily do more damage with my Fire Attunement skills…). A “Viable” elite for me is a skill that has better damage (Dagger Storm) or mechanics (Time Warp) than the “regular” ones.

FGS has returned to what it always was: A running skill. The best running skill, able to outrun thieves and warriors alike. Only cost a elite slot and 180cd.

Now tornado came out worse from this. That skill is not going to be used in any situation (pve, wvw, pvp, farming). It belong in the pile that conjure earth shield sits in, and if I see a player bringing it, I will whisper them with the advice to use SOMETHING ELSE.

What exactly? Because from now on I have no viable Elite on my Ele.

I had a theory couple of days ago:

I decided to simplify it a bit and overlay on the GW1/GW2 map to match the known locations of the Bloodstones.

1. In the newest episode of LS we found out that a strange magical artifact has gone missing – a locket that shows the current true heir to the Krytan throne.
2. Scarlet tried to kill Queen Jennah. Why?
I can assume that this connects to the Mad King.
Okay let me explain – Mad King is imprisoned in the Underworld by magical seals and the first one was broken when Salma (Queen Jennah’s ancestor) took the throne in 1079 AE after the Krytan civil war. Maybe… MAYBE Scarlet knew that killing Jennah will free our beloved Pumpkin King. My theory is that she was an elite member of the Lunatic Court.
3. Remember Zinn from GW1? He built golems that tried to kill Salma, Kisu and Bokka – the “rulers” of Kryta, Cantha and Elona. In his “journal” he writes:

“The job. That’s what started this whole fiasco. My entire business has been built on the backs of eccentric clients, so it never even occurred to me to turn away the stranger when he appeared. He had a most curious request, but again, I was not about to refuse a paying customer, so I obliged the dastardly fellow. He even brought along a custom power crystal to be used in the construction of a golem. This, perhaps, should have raised a red flag, but free parts are free parts, especially when I can still charge full price. But I swear, had I known the extent of the evil to which I was contributing, I would have halted construction immediately, or at least built in more safeguards. Let me remind you that those golems were far more advanced that the ones used in their times. Maybe technology used to build them wasn’t from their time? Maybe it came from the future? And who was this mysterious figure who gifted Zinn the power crystal?

Everything… EVERYTHING since Guild Wars Freaking One tries to kill the rulers of Kryta. Why? Maybe their bloodline consists some kind of power? Currently we are in Maguuma and where was Zinn’s Secret Lair? In Maguus Falls. And where is Malyck’s home and maybe the second Pale Tree? In Maguus Falls!

Let me tell you this – if this is all connected as I see it – they are writing a freaking masterpiece. Prepare for the trip to Maguus Falls and the Zinn’s Secret Lair.

My first impression is – I’m lagging. Again.

I don’t spend my time irl with people I don’t like. He’s just a salad who took nearly all credit for killing Zhaitan… and Scarlet was just a crazy kitten and I just wanted to see her dead and gone.

If I see his salad face again I’m going to scream. I’m going to scream too if I hear “Scarlet” one more kittening time.

I always wanted to ask the Devs about something. In GW1 we had already two Elder Dragons in lore (Kralkatorrik and Primordus) and they were even shown in the game as actual models and yet they decided to present one completely unknown. My question is… why didn’t they use the old lore (which in my humble opinion was better than the new one)? Sometimes I feel that every aspect they touch is completely new. It looks like they don’t want to hear about the GW1 lore anymore…

This bug is sooooo annoying… Basically when you have the autotargetting option on and you are near mobs, it will select the target and trigger the autoattack which will put you in combat mode (if the attack lands). Please repair it. Magnetic Aura is not an offensive skill and it shouldn’t trigger the attack. It should work like Mist Form; if you time it right and cast it before the attack lands, the game will not put you in combat mode; or other auras.

They should abandon the idea of LS. This whole LS “thing” is a misunderstanding from start to end. Bugs, low quality content and even worse “story” than in Personal Story. They’ve already ruined their own game. People will eventually leave. Actually I’m really looking forward to it – maybe then they’ll understand how bad their decisions are.

We dont need to farm another ascendent set because after 1,5 year you realized that pve is zerk based.

There’s no difference between a zerk meta or a cond meta in a game where you require months to farm a full set.

We need that anet allows players to switch easily gear, build and class in way to be always perfomant and we need anet to introduce NEW CONTENT and these NEW CONTENT should be made in way to push people on switching gear\build on demand (and not by default like you’re telling)

In other words we need you to play gw1 for a while and then just copy cantha here.

Sometime is better to copy than having idea.

Like drop a siege and the commander can set this is a build event then everyone gets Ui like build this flame ram 0/50 supply needed. Or Destroy this gate <show gate health bar>. Yeah – I know and I am sorry about that but I have to intervene when someone wants to waste time and resources for Eternity when we already have 2 other Legendary Greatswords… AND only one Legendary of each different type. Your idea is very good and I like it BUT you will not get my support as long as we have only one type of other Legendary Weapons.

No thanks… and yes – I am going to say something about other Legendary Weapons. We have 3 Legendary Greatswords. Arena Net should focus on making a decent looking staff instead of changing the Legendary which comes in THREE versions.

SAB in my humble opinion was; and still is; the best Guild Wars 2 “side experience” AND the best Living Story so far. World 1 was great. The balance between the length of zones and their difficulty was just right for a casual player. Now… World 2 – zones 1, 2 and 3 would not be to long for me if SAB was not a temporary content. They are all great and challenging but require a significant amount of time if you want the achivements like “Associate of Baubles”. I can imagine how much time will take to get all baubles in zones 2 and 3 with their current length and complexity.

1/4 and I had 3/4 before update.

The title pretty much says it all. Please consider adding this skin. It was awesome! Simple but awesome.
