When someone’s acc is hacked, they return all the stuff people had before the hack.
Yeah, I’m pretty sure that they have some backups that may reach a month into the past or something, in case of hacks / emergencies etc, but we’re talking about something that was owned a year or more ago.
Also with dyes, if you had double dye on your alt, as soon asd you logged in to your alt, you would get an unindentified dye for every double dye you have.
Sure, but they just had to look at the current state – when they decided to do dyes account bound, they had the possibility to implement an algorithm that counts the amount of double unlocked dyes and gives you the same amount in unids. No need to look into something from the past at all.
A net has to have some kind of log what we had.
What makes you think that way? That would need horrific amounts of resources that they should better spend on other things… (the problem is, only 1% or so of those logs would in fact be useful)
I don’t think that they had the wardrobe thingy in mind at the release date, so why should they log what skins every player once owned?
Normally I’d say, it depends on the classes and their advantages/disadvantages.
But I solo’d every LS S2 chapter with all classes, so it really isn’t hard or even annoying.
S3 will be about getting deeper into the jungle? I thought that this is what HoM is about…
What brings you to this conclusion? I’ve heard nothing about S3 and in my opinion it’s totally plausible that there won’t be a S3 until HoM is out (in which story we might already kill Mordremoth…), so it’s definitely possible that S3 won’t play in the jungle but starts another story (maybe already leading to the third elder dragon)..
You won’t get banned for afk and farming at the sametime as long as you are not running a bot program.
You read through the thread? Many people saying the opposite (even with examples, threads from banned players, and dev comments)
I see your point there, but if I’m not mistaking, there’s only the daily captures and daily player kills that could pop up while in a match (most others should appear when the match is over, and it doesn’t really matter at this point, does it?)
So I’m curious what the official definition of “actively” playing the game is.
I understand that it’s bad to afk farm mobs or events – so is it still considered against the ToS when I’m staring at the monitor for the whole time but not doing anything else?
But what’s the case with farming ambient creatures? Does it make a difference if I’m watching the monitor or, whatever, read a book? If it does, how can Anet check what I’m doing? Does it make a difference if I’m always repeatedly pressing one key while reading a book or something?
I fully understand that this is an issue, but in my opinion it should be clearly stated in the ToS because its a very wishy-washy grey-zone-like field where nobody seems to be really sure or confident about. I won’t even think about getting my 15k APs account banned because of doing some brain-afk AAs
I wish I had your problems…
Just for your interest – that’s the case even if you have all 8 parts unlocked.
I too think that this should be somehow, somewhen changed. It may be a logical thing when part 8 was out, but it’s already gone now for some weeks or months and at this point it would make more sense to start with part 1 after finishing the PS.
Strange, I think I too lost around 4 AP.
I don’t have any black lion weapon unlocked, though, nor any APs in that category at all (or worked the bug that way that I got AP without even seeing the achievement category for blc weapons?)
Pay 2 win thats why, make all the mats have ridiculous gold cost to give incentive to people to buy convert gems to gold.
People keep using “P2W” all the time without actually knowing their definition, it seems…
GUY! I read “Super Adventure Box will return Sunday” and I got a little heart attack!
I like your idea, but I would prefer the idea with the goggles.
a) There are many SAB haters, too, and I guess they wouldn’t be too pleasured if it would “infect” WvW.
b) It just makes more sense lorewise, I can’t think for a reason the “real Tyrian world” (lol) would transfer to a “game” (haha), but the goggles idea would work fine.
- I’m 21 years young
- from Germany
- at the moment I’m studying Applied Informatics (about halfway through with it)
- I started playing GW2 about the time I had my last school year (got really bored, it felt like it was all heard and seen and I got plenty of time)
- that was about the same time I got my current girlfriend. I have played sooo much since then and I still have her, so I think it’s true love
- It was my second MMO after the original Guild Wars (but I haven’t played GW1 that much because I was kinda noobish then – I’m really happy that I was able to fill my Hall of Monuments to 50 Points + got God Walking Amongst Mere Mortals recently)
- I absolutely loooove books, I can’t get enough of them (mostly Fantasy and Horror – at the moment I’m into H.P. Lovecraft style authors)
- I’m a bit of the “collector” guy, I collect books, Pokémon, GW2 achievements and so on
- I prefer the “nordish” countries because my parents always took me to hot boring (sorry, no offence) countries like Spain or Italy (I really like Italy, but it was just “too much”)
- Went to Norway 1.5 years ago, it was lovely
- Still want to travel as much as possible
- Sometimes I tend to be a bit melancholic and I really love forests and the moon, but not in a sad but in a way that makes me feel free and majestic
- I like to broaden my horizon everyday. I listen to 100 different music genres and I’m always trying to get in contact with other fresh inspirations, ideas and opinions
So you kinda enjoy making a bit surprise out of every new content now, don’t you? XD
Not that it’s a big problem to me, I like to be surprised.
However, I still need 2 chars get their map completed and 3 to finish their personal story. So if there won’t be anything I won’t get too mad. Still need many runs for Dungeoneer, too. Still lot to do!
(But if, just IF… there will be sth like SAB part 3, I could TOTALLY step back from that and take my time!)
The current classes have about 5 heal skills, 20 utility skills (/3 → 6-7) and 3 (non-racial) elites. If there are 5-6 legends, the overall amount will be the same – you just can’t combine them anymore like you want. That may sound negative, but I guess those sets are made to avoid the danger of making revenants too weak/ too OP.
So…. conditions get even weaker? Wth? Why?
It’s a typical problem that the last few files won’t load. Just restart the client, it’s usually enough.
I haven’t read anything about it here, so I’ll ask:
Considering that these achievements got a new category under “Competitive”, wouldn’t it be logical that they aren’t going in the “Historical” tab after the event but stay there for future upcomings of Dragonball in other events? It would, at least, reduce the time pressure a bit.
By the way do you think the portal to Verdant Brink will be where the Vinewrath is currently? And that we need to kill it to get to the portal?
Kind of like how we have to do the events to first access Dry Top.
I’d guess on the now closed inquest gate in Dry Top (the newest part of it), or maybe the “plant room” without any use atm directly above the inquest cave.
There are 6 cities and 5 starter maps (1-15).
You should be at around Lv.30 after that and you can still do around four 16-25 maps to boost you further.
Dungeons, even AC, are end game content and there are many groups who only take 80’s with them.
The carapax parts, yeah, but you need ascended pieces from the story achievement metas for the collections, too.
Anyway, you know the unlocking only affects story missions and the belonging achievements? If he just wants to get in touch with the story, he can still party up with you and enjoy it without unlocking it.
The only thing he would probably miss is the luminiscent armor collections.
Good tip, I guess I just compare a few heavy armors. Even though, I guess there will be a few nice new armors in HoM (hall of monuments, lol… no) that will fit better to Revenants. So maybe I just wait till its out and take a look at the wardrobe then.
I think the “Charr” is in fact some mordy-corrupted oakheart, they tend to have similar figures.
I’d bet on something like a corrupted oakheart or something like that, not a Charr.
Will the new content be too difficult solo?

What’s the problem with open world, all new maps will be full for the next months or so.
Thanks to megaservers, finally, there shouldn’t be a single event that you have to do solo.
I haven’t heard much about dungeons – are there even new ones? As far as I know, no. So that is another content less that you could fail at.
I always thought the reason for not having green as an option is that it would look too much like the personal story icon.
“You can’t see a green one on the map” isn’t an argument, there’s also much water on some maps and there is a blue tag, so….
Charr are far from spiritual as well, yet Rytlock is the first Revenant.
When I thought about it, I had the shamans from the flame legion in my mind.
Could style my Revenant like some converted flame legion charr. o:
Or maybe like an still actual flame legion charr, who just tries to secretly invade the other legions or something o_o
But now that you mentioned it, some cute female Asura could make a lovely ritu- ehh, Revenant, too…
I think it depends on the amount of new maps. I’m really unsure at the moment if there will be like three or like a dozen new maps.
I can’t imagine they will just add this new world completion to the old one, because there would be
a) too many whining about more work
b) it would cause problems for guys who don’t want to buy the expansion.
Most likely they’ll have some reward for completing a map, and, if the amount of new maps is high enough, maybe a special reward for completing the whole area.
Hey all!
So I really think much about things like “which race and which profession are fitting together”, because a) I want all professions, and b) I want all races at least once.
E.g. my actual chars are
Elementalist: Male Norn
Ranger: Female Sylvari
Guardian: Male Charr
Warrior: Male Norn
Engineer: Male Asura
Mesmer: Female Norn
Necro: Female Human
Thief: Male Sylvari
because that’s the way I think the professions fit best to the races.
So now I’m interested in what you’re planning your revenant to be.
I had really loved to create a shaman-looking tengu (or even a mursaat! but that’s just some wet fantasy I had when watching the trailer first), but as it looks, there won’t be any new race at all.
So I’m stuck with the “old” races. I already have three norns, that’s enough. I can’t imagine an asuran revenant, because they’re way too technical and not so spiritual.
Humans are boring anyways.
Maybe I’ll take another male Charr (I don’t like female ones, sorry…) but it wouldn’t feel perfectly fitting… you know? :P
I’m interested in any comments!
Most likely most of you think there are more important things to think about at the moment, but welp. I don’t want to wait with creating a revenant til Tengus get playable in 234 years.
You can only get them via daily login reward. You get around 55 laurels per 28 days, if you choose the laurels from the final 28th reward.
The only other source of laurels at the moment is the achievement point reward chest you get every 500 points. They contain around 1 to 5 laurels each, but you can’t really farm them that way.
Thanks for the tip, nice to know. I don’t like thieves that much anyways, so maybe I’ll stick to boring zerk gear for him or something.
Definitely would love that, too.
Alright, I decided on Dire for armor and back and Sinister for amulet/rings/acessoires (I already had them from LS achievements, so that’s kinda nice and cheap).
I should use scepter/dagger and staff, I guess? I’ll most likely use her in WvW.
Any nice runes btw? Undead maybe?

I’m not sure if the project still exists, but google MultiWars2.
But as already stated, you’re not allowed to create 2 actions with 1 key/mouseclick.
I’ve heard its a 50/50 chance.
It’s definitely not. People get that wrong all the times: Just because there are two results (get it or don’t get it) doesn’t mean that it’s 50/50 (because therefore it has to be a laplace experiment: every result has the same chance. that’s not the case here).
I’d guess the chance is between 5 and 15 percent. No chest at 70 tries sounds quite rare, anyways.
Maybe they knew nothing. Maybe they, well, had a thought about that it could be useful to somehow purge the tree. I don’t think that they knew about the sylvari, but maybe they had the hope that they could bring the tree to the good side of the force via Ventari’s tablet.
By the way, I don’t believe that the Sylvari will cause destruction and death… at least not all. Nightmare court, maybe even the Soundless… but the Pale Tree is still no enemy of Tyria and will never be.
Try reinstalling the game, it’s most likely some error you got in your patch (some malfunctioning data or something).
Have done that 4-5 times now without any problems. Did it happen more than once?
You get that title if you complete the rare collection of all luminiscent armors, so indirectly all 6 common collections for the specific pieces.
Are we supposed to believe that these all powerful dragons only control this tiny portion of the world?
Well, as far as I know that’s because of the magic of the 6 human gods, which still lies in most parts of our current map regions. Dragon are magic consumers, so they are most likely just hungry for some Tyrian magic.
Heya!
It’s like that: Every ascended armor I crafted until now was berserker stats. I just finished my 4th one and well, my other classes probably will get them, too.
However, from the latest collection achievement for the silverwastes, I got one ascended armor bag of my choice. So I decided to pick something I don’t already have an recipe for.
My first thoughts were: Condi necro or maybe a thief with assassin stats.
I’d really like to run a condition based char on at last one of my 8 classes. However, I really want to play my necro with a staff (final rest – what else could you want as a necro?).
Has a staff necro on condition damage any use? WvW would be fine, I haven’t played my necro that much until now.
And what stats would you use? Dire? Rabid? Carrion?
Or would you suggest to take another class with more condi power? Or even something else than condi/zerk?
PS: It’s not necessary to be a dungeon meta build. As long as there’s ANY space where its kinda useful (WvW, PvP…) I’d take it.
My inventory is:
1) Starter bag
2) Masterwork Fractal bag
3) Masterwork Fractal bag
4) Rare Fractal bag
5) Exotic Fractal bag
6) Crafting material bag
7) Junk bag
8) Invisible bag
There’s nothing as an ascended bag, so every ascended piece will go in 1) (or 2) if 1) is full and so on).
RNG is RNG.
Good question. The problem is, Kralkratorrik blocks the wastes and the only entrance to Elona, while Bubbles blocks the ship passage to Cantha. So yeah, in a way those two continents are somehow blocked by the dragons. But Cantha and Elona aren’t the only two possible land masses that could be opened in the near future. Tyria itself is so big and its boundaries aren’t even barely visible at the current map. They could add 5 to 10 expansions just with new maps on Tyria, and that would be entirely possible without getting in contact with another dragon. However, there would be lore problems like “why should the PC/the important NPCs focus on new land masses while their home is still in danger?”
Well, the problem is – most players leave the map after Vinewrath. This results in near-empty maps where you most likely will land when you enter the map.
a) you wait till some players get the courage to capture the outposts and fill the bar, little by little. Very frustrating.
b) you look in the LFG system for groups like “SW XX%” (saying the current bar fill progress for their silver wastes). Those groups fill pretty fast!
Once you’re in a map with bar filled >50%, it will get rather fast, because many players will taxi in and help on the events.
Okay, basically it works the following way:
1) You see a big bar on top right representing the state of your current map. You want the bar to get full to start some mighty events.
2) The bar is filled by certain events – there are four outposts (red, yellow, indigo, blue) you have to defend, a bit like in WvW – everytime a defending event is over, the bar gets filled a bit.
3) When the bar is full, “The Breach” begins. You have five minutes to kill four bosses – one under each outpost. Each boss works differently: On yellow (troll), you can focus on damage while avoiding his aoes. On red (husk), it is often said that you should avoid using aoes because the adds killed by that would heal the husk. Blue (thrasher) ports around sometimes but is not too hard. Indigo (two terragriffs) have bubbles that can be destroyed when a terragriff is nearby to stop them, so you can attack it.
4) After each Breach, independent from how good your map was, the new 3-lane-event Vinewrath starts after some minutes.
5) This event has two phases: a) while outside, on the three lanes, you have to defend an NPC that tries to open the walls to the boss. b) one lane can enter the boss room to fight one of 3 champs.
It has a certain pattern: The south lane is the first to enter and they have to fight a troll. Next one is middle and then north and then again at south, middle, north… and so on, until all three champs are killed. When a group can’t kill a boss within time, the next lane has to fight against that same boss, until the boss dies (hope that was understandable). The three bosses in that order are troll, thrasher, terragriff.
6) If 15 of the NPCs outside are dead, the event fails. Whenever a group can’t kill their boss in time, the active 3 NPCs get killed, so you can all in all screw up four fights and still finish the event. After all three champions are dead, you get your loot.
7) All groups outside still have to defend, when they’re not in the boss room – otherwise the NPCs die too fast!

Plus, I don’t think all sylvaris will be enemies now.
Maybe the Nightmare Court, maybe even the Soundless, the sylvari from the second tree, and maybe a few “weaker-minded” other sylvari, but not all. You can see at least Trahearne and Canach (well, and Caithe) in the trailer – Canach even says that not all sylvari are suddenly badboys.
