That seems to be a bug for (nearly?) all pre recipes.
However, IMPORTANT: Don’t level your char to 450 just for that (way too expensive) -
You can buy another copy of the recipe for 10k karma at the legendary vendor.
I heard it from some beta guy, too, that he did it back then. Guess it’s not possible right now.
Well, in your (normal, not guild) bank, second tab.
I guess many JPs would become kinda boring
Again: You can buy each recipe for a single laurel if you want another copy.
Okay, let’s start with how it was before:
There were skill points on the map that you used for your skills/traits. The remaining skill points were used for mystic forge crafting materials.
You also got one skill point for each level up beyond 80.
The system changed now: Skill points became hero points now which have the same purpose, but you can’t trade them in for mystic forge material. Instead, you use spirit shards for those – spirit shards are random drops, reward for dailys etc.
Tomes of Knowledge give you a level up if you’re under 80 or a spirit shard if you’re 80.
Can’t figure out what you mean with gold / reddish medal, sorry.
You can buy new recipes for laurels.
i needed to do it first without the achievements. then come back and repeat it with the same charackter . only then could i see the things. maybe give it a try.
As I said above, I already tried that…
The only collection-unlocking revenant item I know of, is the weapon you get for training the first herald trait (60 hero points), not the normal specializations.
Same here
It was even the same when I restarted the mission with a char that has already completed it.
You need one of the skritt tunnels to get to the area most north/northwest.
For the rest, like missing PoI’s, it’s important to know that large parts of the map belong to one giant jumping puzzle that starts in a cave in a layer under the rest of the map.
The entrance to the cave is at the little skritt embasement northeast (where the event starts that unlocks the skritt tunnels).
I seriously can’t hear “gate” anymore… when I first bought the game, I wanted to roam the vanilla PvE world with a Lv.80 toon, but it was gated behind XP… ugh, that surely sucks…
Or does it?
EVERY progress could be called “gate” with this mindset.
How to get 113 mastery points? (green ones)
in Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns
Posted by: Thanathos.2063
I took a short count: you can get at least 130 green mastery points. Most of them via achievements, a few extra ones on maps. Definitely enough to max everything.
Yeah but “masteries seem to be for crafters”? You can train masteries through every XP source, so there’s no need to craft anything at all…
No idea what you want to say, sorry…
There’s a difference between “hugs and cuddles” and helpful feedback and plain insulting.
You get 1 for every hero point (old skill points) in vanilla Tyria and 10 per magus falls hero point.
I’ve heard about a way you can get them through WvW too, but I don’t have any infos on this yet.
since Anet didn’t provide any kind of manual.
Wut.
You can read Anet’s blog, it has every info.
So I really don’t want to carve the 150 pumpkins in the labyrinth…
I would prefer to simply farm them in LA with my alts…
So has anyone already made a map with the spawn points? Would be much appreciated!
Thanks, that gets me even more thrilled.
Sylvari only achievement required for meta
in Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns
Posted by: Thanathos.2063
You don’t have to play a Sylvari. You can simply team up with another Sylvari player and you’ll get the achievement, too.
I’m positively surprised too. Not a single downtime, download took me like 15 minutes, no lags, fast patches…
Keep up your work, guys
Over and over? Oo
No, there’s a new reward system for participating in map events. You can hover over your minimap to see how many % you have. You’ll get rewards every 15-30mins or so depending on your participation %s.
I didn’t get a reward for completing Southsun Cove, Dry Top etc for toons which already completed them before HoT. However, after completing SC with a new toon, I got a quite nice reward (2 exotics, Lv76 I think, and stuff)
It kinda confuses me, since I unlocked the first masteries in gliding and Itzel while exploring the starter area of Verdant Brink and doing the first 2-3 story missions with two of my toons.
I’ve got 4 masteries now and I haven’t even seen half of the events here…
(I’m not sarcastic or anything, I’m really wondering how it comes that so many seem to need grinding mobs/events)
The first story mission gave me experience for maybe 80% of gliding #1. I got the rest through exploring the starter area.
I finished Itzel #1 because there was nothing else I needed at that time and started with Itzel #2 afterwards. I’m now through gliding #2 too and I still haven’t seen half of the events in Verdant Brink (and I just finished the last story mission on this map).
Maybe you’re all skipping every mob you encounter? I can’t explain it any other way…
If that’s grindy for you, you haven’t played any other MMO before, no offense…
I see your complaints.
However, it’s Day freakin 2 of HoT.
It’s so enervating about all those complaints that they will be gone in two weeks. In fact, most of you will complain about getting new content as fast as possible because you already finished most of it.
Patience isn’t the worst thing to have.
I got 214 hero points at the start. That is enough to get a playable elite profession since 60 points are enough, technically. You can play them on HoT maps and upgrade them from time to time after getting new hero points.
However, you could say “I didn’t start with 214 hero points, my char has only 5% world completion”… well, why bothering with end content then? I can understand the complaints from WvW’ers, but if you wanna use them in PvE, you shouldn’t complain that you have to play the core PvE first (what isn’t needed, since there are 400 hero points in HoT maps)
I’m not sure what your problem with unlocking the elite specs is?
I started with doing the first story chapters on a few alts, so I was able to fill the first mastery for gliding and itzel. Already got the second on both today through exploring/events.
The “lack of fun” you’re describing sounds more like a “I’m too overwhelmed by the different possibilities I have to choose between because I have to get through it as fast as possible”… and that on day 2.
For me, it’s a 7-8, since
1) I like the feeling of the new maps. Reminded me of some GW1 maps in that region, especially the colors.
2) I like the story missions, since they are quite diverse (from what I’ve already seen)
3) The needed masteries seem a bit grindy, but only if you want to rush through the story real quick without exploring. Plus, it won’t be a problem on second playthroughs with alts anymore.
4) I like the fractal changes
5) I like the many new collections
6) I like most of the new mobs. Partially quite interesting, especially the dinosaur types and wyverns.
7) What I don’t like is: champions in hero point challenges and partially hard-to-find PoI’s/challenges etc because of the 3-layer-system.
Why not?
Many players are halfway through Personal or Living Story, they can’t activate the new story per default. As far as I remember, the hero panel opened on the story tab when I first logged in, that’s everything needed imo.
People talked about that it’s only available at a certain day (like something last year?)
But I think I saw someone mentioning that he got it already, so it’s more likely that it’s a bug.
However I’m pretty sure that Anet has more serious issues at the moment.
There’s a build incoming in like 7 mins, so you should try again then
I wouldn’t say so, there’s not much content at the moment. So many old players don’t play as much. However, a few sales + HoT announcement brought many new players to the game. I’d say it roughly equals out.
The ele was my first char and is still my main.
Of course, it may be a bit hard at the start, especially when you’re used to a, lets say, warrior. However, when you’re exploring easier areas first (cities, starter areas and so on), your char’s level will easily outrun the area’s level. If you keep your gear up to date and maybe take a few more defensive armor stats, you shouldn’t get in much trouble.
Now that I’m full ascended zerk with staff and all possible offensive stats/traits, I don’t have much problems. Sure I’m squishy, but I can AoE a whole bunch of mobs before they reach me.
It may be a hard to learn class, but it surely is the most rewarding one.
D/D ele? No, not much AoEs.
1) Staff ele, camping on fire
… here comes nothing for a long time…
2) Bomb/grenade engi
3) Necro (staff + wells)
But the problem is, the other classes don’t have much AoE at all (if you don’t count cleaving).
Now it might not be that easy due to lack of information but something as simple as a switch could not take a team more than 2-4 days to get it written and tested. And after the event stops the coding can be removed.
2-4 days that could be spent on something, anything else.
10€/10$ I think.
/e too late^^
Yeah, not on your hero panel. On your wardrobe or, for example, on the trading post. Or every other panel (merchants etc), except hero panel.
Sure, but it hasn’t any valuable effect. You can’t even look into other player’s inventory, so there’s not even an indirect effect.
They can determine how many different players got portals. If one has more than one portal, it won’t kitten up Anet’s statistics.
You can rightclick on the weapon → preview → “only show weapon”.
Just add -StreamingClient to the end of the target line on your Guild Wars 2 shortcut^^
But I’m sitting on 1500 soon to be worthless skill points that I’d be willing to trade…
Worthless? Why? The only function at the moment, aside from skill unlocking, is buying mystic forge items. All skill points get converted to a new currency, so certainly they aren’t worthless. Worst case: the new currency can also only be used for mystic forge items, what would be the same as at the moment.
We can’t say that now, we don’t have any infos on the thief elite spec.
It is possible that this spec is so overpowered that it will replace every “normal” thief, but it is more likely that it is just an alternative you don’t have to use.
Account-sharing is against the ToS.
Now, buying an old account may count as account sharing.
However, I don’t know if Anet will ban you or if it’s something they don’t care that much about, as long as only 1 player at a time uses the account.
No, many people (try to) do foulbear etc.
It’s just bugged most of the time.
@Topic: Definitely right. It’s silly to reward players who just wait for someone doing the pre, instead of rewarding those that do pres.
They can, but they don’t have to. The old weapons are still available, but the new weapon seems to “fit” best with the new elite specs.
That’s not a big wonder when you have opened so many other programs.
However, I wouldn’t bet on any optimization. As far as I know, it’ll get even harder (wyvern fire etc).
Yeah, somewhere around where Tequatl stood, a few meters before his feet I’d say. Just don’t run to the defend events, stay at the beach and look around, they should be there for some seconds.
For the prisons, well, I can’t really remember. iirc there are 4 prisons whenever he spawns them, two left, two right (aorund his feet I think), but I wouldn’t swear on that. I guess you can find videos for that purpose.
No, 10s skill recharge under alacrity with 66% decrease would mean 10*0.33 = 3.3s
or, a reduction of 6.6s
An increase of 66% would mean, 10*1,66 -> 16,6s.
So yeah, if you assume that the conditions get applied one by one you have to calculate (10*0,33)*1,66 and that would not be 10.
But if it’s something like 10 + (10*0.66) - (10*0.66) it would be 10. This may seem unlikely, but I think it’s still possible that they simply add basic time plus additional time for chill (or negative aditional time for alacrity).
Why? He’s right, when you assume that those percentages refer to the raw skill stats and not to the current displaying times.
