I don’t get the, “I’m disabled and can’t work so I spend all my time playing a video game” mentality. Wouldn’t time be better spent learning something else computer related? It sounds like the OP and others have endless time to sit at the computer, but no time to learn a skill (like programming) which could be beneficial and profitable. There’s a lot you can do from a chair… why settle on leveling your characters when you could be leveling up your life? Be a web developer, a blog writer, a musician with a keyboard and a laptop, paint pictures and sell them on the internet, a graphic designer, a novelist, etc.

However, I see your point: You are asking, “Do I need to purchase the expansion to continue playing Guild Wars 2?” The answer to that is “No.” You can continue to play Guild Wars 2 with the expansion or without. You can play Guild Wars 2 and add the expansion when it is released or later, if that’s your choice.

Lemme first start off by saying I am a member of a WvW guild on the GoM server.

As I’ve been playing WvW for a little while now I’ve sorta noticed a lot of rifts between guilds, and the server. In a perfect world all of the guilds would work together to overcome the others, since it’s a server wide gametype, and not just guild vs guild. However that’s not the case, and I’m sure it’s absolutely nothing new.

The way this parallels real world politics though is what got me. It’s as if the server itself, is for example, a state, or province. Each guild is like a political party(republicans, democrats in the USA, NDP,Liberal, and PC in Canada). Instead of all joining up, tagging up for everybody on the server to split up into groups, the guilds quietly do their own thing, sort of like political parties do. As a result the servers aren’t doing as well as it could.

I always have somebody to run with in WvW so I’m not salty, this is just an observation. There are a lot of ‘unattached’ people in WvW, those who dont join one of the big guilds(For whatever reason, the pressure, having to go in TS 24/7 so they aren’t kicked). So when there is no commander, and guilds only wanna keep to themselves the unattached people end up going back to PvE because they feel like they themselves doing things doesn’t make a difference(as it doesnt, in the grand scheme of things).

A lot of the guilds feel this way too, but of course if they say something theyre shunned by their peers(the other guilds) so they have to sit on their hands and pretend theyre happy about it. I’ve had a few of the commanders in whisper saying how they would like to change the ways but there’s just ‘no way to do it without rocking the boat’.

This isnt a plea, or anything new. It’s World vs World though, not Guild vs World.

I hope the land spears/ polearms use same skins are sea spears when they release them.

because I just spent some of my limited gold on Spear skins which I never get to see currently because I never do underwater content in the game.

I hope they dont make them separate skins like they did for Tridents and Staffs in the game which share same models for many weapons.

Why in the world would you spend some of your limited gold on, of all things, spear skins.

I wouldn’t mind some raiding type content

as long as there isnt like 20 minute long queues like in World of Warcraft

The chests were better before they removed the PvP rewards that you got from it which included skins. But like others have said, it’s free rewards from doing nothing other than just playing the game. We didn’t have this at launch.

Yeah exactly, I mean if the new dailies are oh so annoying for some players…dont do them, they ARE optional.

They dont offer a bunch of different ways to control cause it’d give an advantage to those with a certain setup vs those without.

Having a mouse with buttons on the side, is not the same thing.

I just haven’t sunk time into it, I’ve never been overly competitive in any game really.

I love this, it looks so kitten slick, especially the UI portion.

Website is cool too but the meat and potatoes is that UI

no one, with the new trait system, leveling in GW2 is really not fun, luck i have 1 of each class lvl80 before change.

I like it just cause the rewards you get are “somewhat” relevant to the daily you achieved.

Very useful, it makes levelling (when you already have like 3 or 5 80’s) a lot less cumbersome knowing you only have to go to about level 60 or 70.

Good community? Eh that’s debatable, there’s bad eggs everywhere but WvW makes people rear their ugly heads more than any other mode.

Keeping it short, the community is split between “Really nice” and “total jerks” there’s not much grey area

No, this is not a level 80 character, made it about 2 days ago. This is also in pve, some people are surprisingly easy to hit with grenades, (if they use melee) they just go around a circle at the same distance and I can hit them easily.
And I thought exploding did nothing to helps healing?

ehh, not 80 = just keep levelling up til you’re 80, then go for some big time upgrades in gear.

I had a guy in a dungeon at level 75 complaining about not enough DPS…yet 80 opens up a whole new world of possibilities.

I’ve gotten those except in an email.

For maybe a split second I thought “huh?” but my web of trust + adblock add ons were going nuts, plus the email was “GW2.tk”

Just wondering if anybody has had any luck at all in the past with recovering accounts. I have not played Guild Wars 1 in a LONG time(years and years) but recently sort of wanted to try it again.

thing is, all I remember is my old login email, and my first character’s name. Since the last time I logged in I’ve cleaned the house a lot and those codes for the original games and EOTN are LONG LONG gone.

I have submitted a ticket but in the mean time was wondering if anybody has had success in this type of situation.

Logitech g600 is great.

I control my whole skill bar(including f1-f4) and my weapon swap with it.

Yep, I use the exact same one and never looked back, totally changes the way I play the game compared to before. Highly recommended and it’s great for other genres too even though it’s marketed as an ‘mmo mouse’

The point of the game is to come up with your own goals. If the game starts to feel like a job, or a chore. Move on to another game, simple.
