If you guys can modify Tequatl The Sunless into an awesome boss, you can certainly modify the final boss itself. Lets face it, I do like the cinematic approach, but i did not want to end the game in a shooting gallery. Please Arenanet, make it happen.

“a game that involve persistent, dynamic content” – this game it’s as it is… and we can try to enjoy it or play something else. If this “train” is dispersed by randomization or whatever – the fun is over, for those who had fun enjoying it together. Less annoyance for those who were annoyed – that’s true too. What Anet can do? Look at the reasons of why one side enjoy it and the other is annoyed and side with one of them or both, and make this game be what you wish to be. We will enjoy it or not, play it or play something else – and life will go on.

Making it more difficult it’s not something that will scare me at all; if I can’t defeat it, who can? Not that I’m the best, just many players are… new, and have to learn. Make it impossible difficult and see above… It’s just a game. Let’s enjoy it and enjoy each others above all. Only that really matters.

So if new players are introduced to a massive Zerg that do this often in a starter area, are they going to expect the same thing in mid lvl or higher areas? Or are you guys going to stick to that same area forever and ever until your pockets are full with loot, only to do it again? And again, if the game wants to make itself feel more alive as it clearly advertises, it should be unpredictable. Cause life in the end is unpredictable. Bosses and event should be randomized. And if a Zerg were to go “professional” They would obviously have scouts ready to announce the spawns.

The problem is not soloing content, its the fact that these rotation sequences of going from one boss to the next in a very predictable manner just doesn’t work for a game that involve persistent, dynamic content. I can understand this for mayor event like Tequatl, cause of the sheer difficulty of it, but for low lvl content? It should be balanced and unpredictable. They should spawn at random orders, random and possibly longer times to prevent the predictable side of this. And yes, I agree that maybe they should focus on bringing good content for mid lvl areas so they can get more players to be interested in them. That or actually scale the difficulty of the bosses a little higher to actually be a challenge for the zerg

With scaling, it’s actually about the same speed as killing the champions in Frostgorge (and endgame zone), for example, or at least it has felt that way to me; actually I have been sticking to Frostgorge ‘cause it seems more predictable and speedy. So, OK, I guess you don’t like folks farming?

Overall, yes, it just seems too convenient to do this in a game that is suppose to be dynamic. I don’t mind that a player sticks around in a certain zone to wait for a boss to announce it to the entire map, but to literally go from one boss to the next like if they were just trains stops just breaks the game.

What’s the problem?

Does it prevent you from completing something or clearing content?

No its not for me, Its to balance the game. The problem is that those players are playing with the system to gain large rewards for very little effort with so many high level players coming in. Plus it just removes the exploration aspect when you realize that just going in a starter area to kill easy bosses for large rewards is an an option against going to a High lvl zone where they ought to be. And in reality, just making these small lvl bosses spawn at random with possible longer timers, and not in predetermined timers, could make the dynamic event aspect seem more realistic.

There is always a High Lvl Zerg around starter areas like Queensdale, where they go through a "rotation"to fight spawning Champions one after the other. I think you should randomize the events to prevent this. That or other means to fix this problem. Please fix his soon.

Thanks for the link to the post. I really am hopeful now. XD However, as far as I’ve seen it talks more about the cosmetic part of the issue. I don’t mind having different looking armor depending on what set I want. I want it to be as much as to keep your sets with different stats that are useful to whatever play style you are currently using, like my earlier example. Like I have my Cleric set, a Beserker/Rampager set, and a Knight/Soldier set. Its not just looks, its their functionality that I want to keep as well.

The idea is to essentially add a new place to put entire sets of armor pieces so that you can switch to them on the fly whenever you decide to change your character’s specific play style.
Example: I’m a Guardian who uses Cleric gear cause I play a Support/tank character, but I now wanted to switch to some Knight/Berserker Gear I made to make an offensive Guardian.

Step 1: Reset my Traits and adjust to an offensive build.
Step 2: Go to my Bank
Step 3: Go to Closet Tab to instantly switch from my Cleric gear to the other Gear.

This idea essentially helps speed the gameplay and in a way make some more space for the Bank to keep more important items.

The closet should have a limit of 15 sets or armor and can be expanded for 600 gems for 5 more sets.

Hope you guys consider this idea. Keep up the good work.

New Class Ideas?

TheMaskedGamer.5708

Hey guys, hope all of you are having a great time in the game. Now some might say doing this might be too soon, but I thought it would be fun discussing it anyway. Lets begin.

First: A new race. Pretty obvious choice would be the Tengu. Even the devs thought of the idea of them being one of the original five playable races, but decided to make the Sylvari instead.

Second: New Profession. I have been thinking for a while, and I was thinking that the only possible choice for the new expansion is the Monk profession.

Now in the previous game, the Monk was the main healer of the game. Now I know that in reality the Guardian pretty much is the successor to the Monk, but I think it should be a new revamped version that can be as versatile as all the other classes.

My version can be summed up as the almost stereotypical bad-kitten kungkittenmovie kind of Monks that can fight using various styles of martial arts and techniques. Almost a mix of a few mechanics like the Thief, Engineer and Warrior. Lets me explain.

Monk would be a light armor class that specializes in fighting up close and personal with only a few way to fight at long range using Chi or Ki to fire powerful blasts. May have a higher natural toughness rating than all of the other scholar classes. Might even rival medium armor ratings. Similar to the Warrior, the Monk can charge up its Ki meter while fighting and defeating enemies. Or like Thief it could recharge over time. It depends on the balance. I know that one thing is to have a “Meditate” Skill to charge the meter faster. The Ki meter can be used for a few abilities like amplifying his melee abilities and for his long range, Fireball attacks.

What did I mean about similarities with the Engineer? Well instead of Kits, I introduce Styles or Stances. In that case the only weapons he could use are swords(can Dual Wield), Axes (can Dual Wield) and Staff (the only time a Staff is used as a melee weapon. Probably a good choice for AoE melee in my opinion). The Stances can vary between Heavy defensive, Fast Light strikes, etc. Mechanic wise, I’ll leave it up to the devs.

A few attacks I’ve thought would be awesome and practical are the following:

Dragon Kick: A Flying Kick that can reach an enemy from a distance that can do good damage and dizzy an opponent.

Dual Palm Strike: A close range attack that can knock back an enemy. Similar to Yun from Street Fighter.

Leg Sweep: Self expanatory, knocks down an opponent.

Parry: Blocks a move and do a counter move that could cripple an opponent.(Maybe)

…..just try to think of every possible Kungkittenmove and martial art techniques (And yes even WirekittenXD) and try to apply it in gameplay and stuff.

Thats all I can think for now, Ill probably edit the post later for more ideas, but for now here it is. If any of you have more suggestions, post away. Thank you guys, hope you like. As for the Devs, keep up the good work, and see if this could inspire something for the next updates to the game.

Trait Tree loadout system (GW2 Templates )

TheMaskedGamer.5708

Hey Guild Wars 2 players and developers, hope you guys keep up your good works and are having fun. Anyway I want to post an idea that could possibly make the Guild Wars 2 experience run a lot smoother for all of us.

One of the major aspects of the game is that the professions in the game are not restricted with specific roles in the game. Essentially you can have a class that can be modified to whatever specifications to fit our play style. The community then takes advantage of both creating and providing ideas for all the different builds each profession can do. I can make my Guardian a complete support character for Dungeons, or make a High Condition Damage build for PvE or WvWvW and so on with the other classes.

However, one thing that bothers me it that if I want to switch between different builds and equipment for different occasions with your main character or others, you have to go through the long process of going to a trainer, pay your reset fee, set up your Trait point, go to your bank or inventory, and switch your equipment for the specific things you wish to do with your character.

This is pretty typical stuff for an MMO, but I think this process just slows down gameplay for me and possibly other players.

What I want to suggest is a “loadout” system that allows you to name and save your character builds and gives you the ability to switch between other builds and equipment in an instant. Sort like Call of Duty or Halo 4 where you use the same character, but can switch weapons and abilities instantly when you wish to switch to a different play style.

For example: I own a Lvl 80 Guardian who is my main character throughout most of my quest and WvWvW shenanigans. I tend to use a Tank/Support build for Dungeons and Solo PvE, but for WvWvW I try to switch to a more offensive High Critical Hit build to fight players effectively. But then of course I have to look up the build that I want to use, then start resetting my traits once again and you know the rest. My idea could be as simple as reset my traits, from there you as your trainer if you wish to choose one of your saved builds, you say yes and can choose between the different options you have saved. And there you have saved enough time to go to your guild or PvP activities and such.

Some of you might say, “Well that’s why you have character slots, so you can switch characters with the play style you wish you use at the moment.” Well I say that doesn’t make sense for two reasons. First is that if I wish to invest time on a character that the developers or the game for that matter wish for me to connect and care, then I wish to make him as versatile and useful for whatever I need. And secondly it would take a lot of time to literally make a clone character that looks exactly like you main , but with different traits and abilities. I for one don’t wish to make a clone character just because I’m in the mood to play a different way or activity.

So there Arenanet, I hope you can consider this idea to be a part of the game to make this game run like clockwork. Sorry I made this post long, but I did it because I really love this game, and I wish for it to be the best MMO their can be. Im not entirely sure if this idea was ever present in an MMORPG before, and if its not, take a chance to do it. Hope you guys like the idea. Take care and game on!

Difference between Warriors and Guardians?

Hey guys, hope you guys are having fun. Anyway, i just wanted to ask what are the fundamental differences between a guardian and a Warrior. I only know the simple basics that Guardians have more health and use magic, while the Warrior can use almost all weapons and are possibly have more resistance to damage(Correct me if I’m wrong).
But I want someone to give me the specifics between their stats, and who is more effective when assigned to certain roles like Healer, Support, Damage Dealer or Tank. (Basically who is better in each role. Add other that I may not have mentioned in this post.) Give me numbers even to see the major differences. Hope you guys can help.

I think you guys just don’t get the point of the Arrow Cart. Its purpose IS anti-infantry. I still think that most siege weapons are under powered. In fact, i wish for some of them, like the AC, Ballista and Ram to have movement,(They can’t be used while in movement though, and they should be very slow to move.) I say increase the defenses of the Golems against the AC. AC is the practical Anti-Zerg weapon, and Im really ok with that.

AC vs players is ok, maybe a bit too much range, but the dmg is fine…IF it was not a counter to everything else. It kills rams, balistas, golems, catas and even trebs.

Its too powerful at everything, if it was specialised to anti-player fine, but right now its just too good at everything.

I see your point. I hope its really simple to balance the damage on the rest of the the other weapons. I even think that they shouldn’t do damage to walls. If ArenaNet can basically nerf the damage to the other weapons, and leave the same damage to players. I’ll be okay with change.

With the ability to put 12 arrowcarts on a single door, adding poison to an arrowcart resulting in 33% less healing, increasing arrowcarts damage by 80%, with arrowcarts being so easily built with such small amount of supply required and increasing the time within which bleed stays on you from a cart… how do you think this is a positive addition to WvW?

I cant even … Im utterly dumbfounded at why someone at arenanet would think this is a good idea…

If it works as an Anti-Zerg weapon, I’m fine with it.

Your recycling idea will just make the saboteurs more happy by recycling all your defensive siege, unless it only apply to rams.

I’m surprised that there are friendly players that are considered Saboteurs. Are there friend players that really want to ruin your day in that manner? The idea is only applied to any siege weapon that is on the field and that have no use in that point.

There are so many stories about people spinning trebs, AFKing on defensive siege during enemy attacks and people that just throw a lot of useless siege to hit the siege cap that I’m sure you already heard about it…

Actually no. I haven’t seen or heard of stories like those. Obviously the idea works if the team in charge is coordinating everything efficiently. I don’t know how to manage player behavior, I’m just trying to add some features that can be beneficial for the flow of the game and add a little more resource management to the game.

TheMaskedGamer.5708

I have a real problem with certain Siege Weapons in the game. The following are the Battering Rams, Ballista, and Arrow Cart. In real life, these weapons can be moved and be positioned anywhere on the battlefield that is needed, but in the game, they are not movable. Why? Is it because of balance? I wish someone can explain that. These weapons should be able to move so they can be more effective. I know a few ways to balance this change.
(These are only applied to the Rams, Ballista, and Arrow Carts)

1. If built on top of a wall, they remain stationary. I’m okay with that. If on the ground or in the field, they can be moved by players.
2. If the weapons are being moved, they cannot be used immediately and while being moved.
3. Moving the weapons will be as slow as walking speed.
4. If you find a spot to put the weapon in place, it’ll have a 10-15 second timer to set it up to attack mode.

These changes could add strategy, tactics, and resource management. Making us capable of fighting more efficiently and even effectively eliminate the Zerg tactic that everyone seems to be doing.

One more addition to the game is “Recycling”. Normally when we open the gates of enemy players, we storm in, beat them, and conquer the castle, but we leave a horrible pile of no longer useful Rams in the front gate. What do we do? Apparently nothing according the game’s current state. My idea for the “Recycling” feature is basically allow players to regain at least 1/2, 1/3 or 1/4 of the resources used to make said Siege Weapon if they are no longer needed. This is very good for resource management, and allows us to clean up the mess.

I hope you guys like my ideas. I really hope ArenaNet can consider these too. See you guys on the Eternal Battlegrounds.

Note: Recycling only works for the world that set up the weapons to begin with, not enemy players. Enemy Siege weapons can only be destroyed, not recycled.

Hi GW2 Community, I am TheMaskedGamer.5708, playing as Aaron Lockheart, a Human Guardian in the Eredon Terrace server. (Server may change if necessary.)

I am the founder of a recently created guild known as “Guild Of Unknown Heroes”. It will be guild that will mainly focuses on PvE and WvWvW. (SPvP is still in the works.) There will be an emphasis on exploration for those who would like to admire the beautiful world of Tyria. (As well as Map completion.) There will be bits of Role-Play if most of you want to do it.

The motive behind the guild is to essentially assemble a group of friends who frequently play on my time own time zone EST. Schedules of play will mainly be on the weekends.

Fridays 8:00pm-12:00am
Saturdays 7:00pm- 12:00am
Sundays 6:00pm -9:30pm

For now I am recruiting only 4 Officers who are trustworthy, organized, funny, and for the most part play to have fun. The main reasons for this are to basically form the first pillars that can maintain the structure of our guild as well as being the main party that sticks together for group events and dungeons with me. I would prefer to have players who are al least lvl 30 of higher. I would appreciate candidates who have some experience with previous guild so I can learn more on how to manage it.

In order for me to invite you, just post as a reply your account name, character name, race, profession, level, and reasons for wanting to join and what can you do for the guild.

(If any of you have knowledge on how to communicate with voice chat and recommendations, let me know)

And that’s pretty much it. I hope any of you consider joining. Have a great day and keep it up in Guild Wars 2.
