Well I got a lvl 80 mesmer with 30 points in Precision and Power 10 for toughness and I consider him to be………alright and just that. My condition damage mesmer is 25 now when he reaches lvl 80 he weill be devastating.

I dunno maybe you should show some footage or break it down to us because I’m not really feeling my lvl 80 power+prec mesmer. He uses greatsword and scepter and one handed sword….maybe thats the problem. My condition dmg mesmer uses scepter and torch and staff. I throw up some illusions, activate prestige then choas storm and then shatter illusions, lots of people die. Maybe this would work better with power.

I don’t know what you guys are talking about I’m generally doing better with a condition build, survivability could be better but dmg is good.

Well if you do a condition damage build it does insane amounts of damage.

By the way if you time it correctly you can combine phantasmal duelist with confusing images. Activate phantasmal duelist first first then quickly activate confusing images and the attacks will be combined. You can also combine confusing images and the prestige and prestige with choas storm, but this is best for a condition damage build.

I have been playing GW2 from near the beginning of launch even though I know that GW2 is a great MMO the mesmer kinda ruined the game for me. I have always found the mesmer class interesting and I can’t see myself doing any other profession but when I first started playing the mesmer I died…A LOT. Yes I have gotten the hang of playing the mesmer but it’s only just now I’ve started really getting the hang of it and now I’m starting to really enjoy this game.

One word of advice (well paragraph) I could give though is that you do need to decide what build you want ie damage, tank etc and you do need to pick the right weapons, traits and slot skills, but you need to learn to move. Even if you want to build a tank mesmer that is going to take some time before you get really durable, mesmers are not as durable as some other professions and therefore you need to learn to manouver and time your dodges to evade enemies. That simply takes practice.

In saying that even though I have been with this game from near the very beginning there is still much more to this game. I have done two personal stories but I have completed part of a third one and to my suprise it got quite emotional for me. So yea GW2 can get darker and tug at your heart strings a bit.

To be quite honest with you I don’t find this world dark at all, it can get a bit like that with ghosts but everything else seems light hearted. Yes I don’t really find anything in this world really that scarey.

I’m having problems getting this achievement. How I understand it is that I have to talk to a representative of Lions Arch and say I will represent him, then find a balloon tower then escort an emissary to the tower.

I’ve tried going to the Gendarran Fields, the one near BroadHollow Waypoint is bugged (you can’t fight the champion) so I tried going to Winter Haven. I escort the emissary but nothing happens. I’ve also tried going back to the Lions Arch representative and asking him again, still nothing.

Yea I’m thinking that if you have new content every two weeks you guys are giving yourself too much work, and it maybe a case of quantity of quality. I think every month is alright

I actually loved the personal story and I’m not really sure what you didn’t like about it. My problem with it is that it came to an end. I just want more of it and more opportunities to interact with the world like I did with my personal story. I think you might have been making that point.

Im a lvl 71 mesmer and I just bought a Grandmaster training manual to reset my traits, nothing is happening. I have already used the previous two manuals. Anyone know what’s wrong?

I’m not too sure what this does and I have feeling it’s rubbish. When activated does it increase you’re damage permanently till deactivated or does it just enable you to cast a spell which does damage for a short time period (1 second) then you have to activate it again?

There is no way to switch orders. annoying, but its for a reason. Your personal story ties very deeply to which Order you chose, so they dont want you switching because choices as far as 30 levels back can make a difference.

Sorry I like the fact that you can’t switch orders it makes you take the decision more seriously. Some restrictions are good.

Just look up viking names. The norns are to some degree based on the vikings.

Also… deleting your character? Seriously??? Even in the roleplay sense, every character that leads that kind of path is going to have something they regret, whether it be a mercy killing, stealing, etc. What they do is make up for it with other deeds.
If you want to roleplay-eliminate a reward like that, buy a Karma item and destroy it. Back during the Karka events you had the option of using items as donations with a Mystic Forge recipe which made for nice roleplay redemption.

What can I say I’m a sensitive person, I’m going through a rough patch and sometimes I can relate to certain characters. When certain issues come up in rpg games they can hurt quite a bit.

At any rate I don’t want to drag this thread out but it would have been nice if it could have had a peaceful resolution. I remember reading in an interview that in gw2 the developers didn’t want players to be villains. The general feel you get from gw2 is that we are heroes and it’s our job to make the world a better place, it’s just a shame it ended that way.

Well I’m not sure if this is spoilers but any rate I’m going to describe what happens in this event. There is a female ghost that wants to be escorted out of the graveyard, you help her do this then she realizes she can’t leave and then she attacks you.

This is depressing, I thought that in gw2 we were supposed to be heroes? All that I achieved in this event was to beat up on a lonely ghost that just wanted to be reunited with her children. Ok I know she attacked me, but the way I saw it was that she was just trying in her own way make sense of terrible situation, plus I’m a tough guy I can handle being attacked, I eat centaurs for breakfast.

I felt so bad that I deleted my character because I didn’t want the reward for beating her up. Is there anyway that this event can be changed so we can bring the ghost peace? This is GW2 guys were supposed to make the world a better place not beat up on tormented souls. :/

To cut a long story short, were are they? I got some stuff from destroying those periscopes, it says you have to give them to Vigil Audio Log Collectors but it doesn’t say where to find them.

I think I’m finally getting the hang of crafting. I’m lvl 24 but I have lvl 46 in artificer but my tailoring is 32. Being an artificer is relatively easy I go up to a tree or a rock I mine or chop then I get the ingredients I want. With tailoring I have to go up to a certain creature or bad guy and defeat them but if I defeat them I might not get what I want (I want jute scraps), that’s irritating.

Is there an easier way of getting tailoring ingredients? If I knew it was going to be this hard I would have chosen weaponsmith.

Guys I need some help with crafting it’s starting to do my head in slightly. Presently I’m a Mesmer lvl 23 and I have tailoring lvl 18 and artificer lvl 19. As far as I’m aware the highest level is 400, which means I’m way behind and there’s something I’m doing wrong. I just need some helpful advice which will help me boost my crafting levels I think one such method is discovery and I’m a little confused on how that works.

Are you sure karma vendors sell recipes? I’ve seen gear and salvage kits but no recipes, could you give an example. Karma vendors are those people with the hearts right?

EDIT: Ah just found a list of all karma vendors, so no worries.

Hi, I need some help finding some more recipes. I know that you can find recipes via the discovery or the mystic forge but I’m having problems getting the right ingredients. Another method is that I have to reach level 125 and buy new recipes, that’s going to take ages.

I’ve made most of the stuff that you can get from being an artificer or a tailor and they only way I can seem to get new recipes is by just constantly gathering stuff and crafting whatever until I reach 125, but if I do that I’m probably going to have to spend most of my time gathering and this will make me neglect other aspects of the game.

Does anyone know why its not possible to pick the mistfire wolf skill? For some reason I can pick other skills of the same level like reaper of grenth but the mistfire wolf won’t highlight when I hover over it. I think I read somewhere it’s a bug.
