Props to the [CORE] engineer and guardian duo in the ruins, the best 2v2 I have had in a couple weeks.
That was me and our resident Mystic Forgemaster Dfark!. Thanks for the fights, I know both of us like the small team fights. Your conditions were ridiculous. I felt like ice cream on a hot summer day. I couldn’t keep popping the condition cleanses often enough! Good fights!
Yeah… He actually did, and then told us we were intefering with his game and violating the code of conduct. Pretty terrific.
Haha, if this is true , that’s funny stuff. I was wondering why some “unknown ruffians” was able to down and spike an anet toon in the middle of a 30+ Sbi horde and the Sbi guys not lift a finger to help.
1 more thing, watching that blob vrs blob.. you guys are kidding yourselves if you actually think that winning that is about skill..
XOXO, plz leave. You guys are good at what you do. Don’t talk down on something else because you don’t like it. That’s middle school level trolling, I’d expect grad school level trolling or better from you. yawn.
Props to the xoxo necro. Seems like a nice guy and nuked just about everyone he 1 v 1’d last night. I still want to duel your warrior…
Please.. I’m not even trolling, blobing up and mashing aoe/11111 on a targeted driver in a blob praying people fall is stupid/unskilled.
Its no wonder I can eat your lunch when ever I catch any of you zerglings straying from the blob. You still haven’t even learned your classes yet. As long as you continue this lolskilled type fighting I will always have people to farm. Ty
Sounds great! As long as you don’t care about us steamrolling over you and laughing about killing another XOXO then I think we are good to go!
Theres a difference on the “skill” level needed for GvG or roaming.
A good roamer/soloer depends a lot on reaction time, skill combos, and a good build.
For GvG or any kind of organized group play however you need an insane level of coordination in order to be succesful. Its not as easy as the roamers suggest, lol.
All you need is 2 necros, 10 Guardians, 2 Staff Elementalists, one mesmer and 5 hammer warriors.
I would disagree and say that is a little guard/warrior heavy. I would want less guardians and pick up a d/d ele or two and a thief.
I agree with the 2 necro/10 guards/2 staff ele/1 mes/5 shout warrior combo. Reason is that the guardians are keeping the blob (guards and warriors) alive. The tighter you stay as a group, the more damage you deal and less damage you will take. Staff ele’s and necro’s are there for that extra bit of DPS, but mostly for the fields that they are able to give out. Mesmer, for the veil, obviously.
This is true, I just like having that extra damage coming from the outside. I just think having 10 guards and 5 shout warriors is a little extreme unless you’re facing a guild of necros. But hey! Some guilds run necro heavy and wreck face. So to each their own!
Most Necromancers go power well spec for a GvG for the damage. Conditions IMO dont work in a group bigger than 10, due to the amount of condition removal coming from the warriors and guardians. A way to avoid a necro heavy group is to pay attention to the wells that are on the floor and completely avoid them. And thats where the warriors and guardians HAVE to stay tight and move/dodge roll as one. One over extender that dies, can change the whole fight completely.
I guess that’s true. I don’t know much about necros in GvG. I just figured the conditions would still be a big problem even in larger fights, more so than smaller fights like 10v10. In small fights like that there are less people pumping out conditions in the first place than in a 15v15 or 20v20, so the condition cleanses work even better.
But I agree wholeheartedly about the warriors and guardians moving together. The loss of a guardian or warrior can be a death knoll for a guild if it can’t regroup quick enough. I’ve seen it in our fights and in the fights of other guilds. It’s crazy how fast a fight can change.
With the power well necromancers, there a 2 wells that tick for 2.5k+, and one of those turns boons into conditions, so thats why you gotta look out for them. As for the conditions and stuff, think about it this way, the more guardians and warriors you have, the more the condition removal is going to come, and if you time your warriors and guardians shouts as a group, and rotate them like that, you should have no conditions on you what so ever.
Good point. The rotation of shouts for guards and warriors seems obvious but must take a fair amount of practice. Sounds like a good thing to look into! I just hope GvG can keep surviving long enough to test all this stuff out.

Orly? like what kinda gimmicks u mean?
With 10 people you can run an uber tank strategy based around 5-6 guardians. You can’t keep the boons off of em long enough to do major damage and they can just outlast anybody when the casters go down. Its a great strategy, but most guilds avoid it as GvG is primarily 15v15 or 20v20, which allows a more balance composition with more pressure being put on the melee train to keep boons off.
CORE has been a fantastic guild in which to be involved. It has absolutely changed the game for me and has made WvW that great mix of frustrating and fantastic! Just wanted to give my recommendation for it as one of the first recruits!
I would say that I am still a relatively new WvW player, but I’ve been playing it pretty hardcore for the last 3 months, so be gentle!
So in our current matchup, IoJ v SBI v NSP, the bloodlust effects seem to be changing hands fairly quickly throughout the day and into the early evening. Going into primetime the balance can shift towards favoring SBI, but not as much as people would think. Last night was a good example with SBI only holding 2 of the effects most of the night while raging on our BL. NSP held the other one (not always their own BL’s either), and that is testament to their roamers being some of the best in the “Silver League”. Even with the bloodlust stacking up on SBI, my guild rarely found itself wiping against the giant hordes in EB. Now I know the EB hordes are karma trains of rallybots in matches like this, but they never really steamrolled us when they had the numbers advantage. So my observation is that the only time the bloodlust is swaying the battles is when the fights are even already between two organized groups.
I guess my question is if the higher tiers are just so different from the “Silver League” that the bloodlust doesn’t change hands that much (I mean it takes 15 people about 3 minutes to do it in our matchups)? And does the stacking of the bloodlust buffs mean more in the higher tier matchups than it does in lower ones?
Like I said, I’m still fairly naive about some of this stuff, but those are my questions.
Last night was a blast! SBI was farming us for WxP and karma and we were farming them for bags and loot! Tis a nice arrangement, plus it helps build server morale and help pay for those ascended weapons.
Although I would say that our experience with T1 level lag was quite sad, but hey! Oodles of loot. CORE must’ve spawned 5 or 6 merchants all around the map to relieve pressure on our bags!

This is because we hate you. Ioj is the premier open field siege building group of baddies and frankly it disgusts many of us. Then you get a couple transfers trying to act like they are something special. Aaaand obviously they aren’t. Individual/small group skill is nothing Ioj has ever had and will never acquire..
And we thank you so much for your lessons. Like the perfect composition of guardians to anything else in a group, or the proper method of teabagging your opponents. Your methods are truly fantastic and hold us in awe on IoJ!
But seriously, fighting BAGS/DDLG has to be some of the best fun I have because even if we lose to you guys, it enrages us enough to become better in small groups and in our guild group. We keep honing our skills and are ready to come back the next time. Though I will say we are probably still more scared of SPCA/XOXO on NSP than any roaming group on SBI.
Toodles until later our former DR adversaries!
Even though the ppt and who wins are pretty much decided already I am looking forward to the fights this week. BS still has to be one of the best guilds I have ever faced. They were working our 30 man zerg with around 10 by just scrambling and moving all over the place. It took us quite some time to bring them down. I can say that whenever I see a BS tag I grow instantly wary about the fight! So I’m looking forward to seeing the individual and small group fights this week and learning more of how not to get worked by BS.
Bags/DDLG core was better than any IoJ guild. Going to leave that here for ya IoJ forum warriors. I expect no less than 3 pages of response.
Whahahahahahahahahahahahahaha! I might die from laughing so HARD!!!!!
OK OK OK you already proved that. You got lots of proof by the way, like losing every week, ditching a server after you ruined their reputation in the forums, etc. etc.
You will just deliberately lose so that you will win again in tier 12 but yet the lowest server in NA still beats you by a mile. That’s a big PROOF that you are “BETTER”.
Find the quote where I said DR was a better server. All I simply said was, DDLG is better than any guild on IoJ, and always will be. Learn to play sir.
umad?
I don’t know dude. Every time CORE has run into DDLG this week (reset night mainly), we wiped you pretty hard. I will admit that you guys had us pretty rocked the first time we faced you (a few weeks ago) but since then its been pretty one-sided. You try to draw us into a choke point like the cata tunnel at Briar or the entrance to Water and then spam static fields and lines of warding. Once we figured that out it was pretty easy to take you down with equal numbers. So you have CORE who can beat you, and that’s not even mentioning HARD who is probably the best on IoJ.
DDLG used to be something we were worried about, but reset night showed that we don’t anymore. Good luck on your new endeavors.
Did anyone get photos/video from the [ASH] mini-golem rush?
Here’s a pic from the IoJ point of view. Sadly I forgot to screenshot as we gate-bombed your golem rush.
There was some good stuff after we wiped the first push. One of your guys was death-scouting in the tower, so the ASH guys surrounded him in their mini-golems and started a mosh pit on him. I was the quaggan with the red balloon.
That was me in the tower! The golem dancing was pretty funny. The best part was that I was only scouting up there because we had another guy in the tower with me! We were waiting for you guys to leave so we could flip it ourselves. You foiled us with your presence!
