I notice this also on random mobs,but at first i thought anet just added culling to happen early on mobs and npc’s to reduce lag maybe ?

It’s not culling, the NPC’s never renderer after the bug happens unless you swich map.

Playing WvW in EB, and after a long while NPC’s turn invisible you only see their tags. When you use a way point loading takes 100x more time than usual.
This happens to me quite often.

Yup, that makes everthing alot better. It doesen’t have to be forced health bars, but an option for those who want it.

2D rendering doesen’t deman alot, it’s very easy to process. It’s almost nothing. 1 mini pet takes more GPU power than all names and HP bars to render.

HP bars doesen’t slow the game down. And you don’t need to be a straight healer class to have a need for HP bars. It’s nice to know where to place water fields. PPl who want to have it on should have the option for it.

1. The way combat works. The movement based skills. The ability to cast skills while running around is something that alot of other MMO’s don’t have.

2. The art style. I’m was very impressed by how the eviroment is full of life, and the areas is all different from each other.

You should stop wasting your time on features that ppl doesen’t want. These tactivators makes defenders advantage even bigger. The strongest server gets even stronger. It ads no interesting fights, it just makes it more un-even. The only way to take over T3 SM with all this crap is if it’s undefended.

You simply makes the defenders advantage bigger when it should be smaller. So we actually can cap defended towers and keeps.

Stop ruining your own game please!

The fact is that like 80% of the WvW’ers doesen’t like the map. It doesen’t matter if it’s a L2P issue if they don’t enjoy the experience from the start. You shouldn’t have to learn games before they get fun. This is the most good looking map they have ever designed, but it doesen’t matter if it’s designed around alot of PvE and other elements that we don’t want.

The environment ends up being an annoying interuption of something could have been fun. Take the air keep for example with the insane amount of knockbacks, and then the players of on the opponents server sits in a half circle behind the lord with ac’s and other siege. It’s disgusting how strong you made the defenders advantage in HoT. The only way you take over a tower/keep now is if there is small to none defenders. Otherwise it’s impossible.

I also hate the vertical maze design of this marathon running map. It’s so annoying to have to run around forever before something fun happens.

1. Remove the banners and all the automatic defenses. Those mostly benefits the most populated server the most anyway.
2. Remove the the new the desert borderlands. Make a non vertical map from scratch. Or release the tools which enables the player base to make maps ourself, something like StarCraft 2 has. The playerbase can then vote for which map they want every week based on video presentations.
3. Remove the skill lag.
4. Remove most of the PvE, only tower and camp NPC’s is OK.
5. Make us able to do critical hits on siege weapons.

Wow, this is so stupid. You want to prove to us that ele is in a good spot by showing us this?! The druid isn’t even aiming at you with the 3 first projectiles, he litterly does nothing. He doesen’t even move. And yea, this build counter projectiles rly good, so basicly the rifle/gs warrior is screwd.

They nerfed the splash dmg radius before they they nerfed the visual noise. I remember playing in WvW before the visual patch hit, and it didn’t hit the archer on the wall like it used to . So yeah, this type of redisign seems cheap, and fits badly in to the rest of the game. They have decreased the level of quality on the work they do, and that really shows.

They nerfed it to cheap-fix the ranger/druid gs leap + staff 3 exploit in WvW i think. It wasn’t a problem with ele’s RTL itself as i’m aware of.

Must be on the NA server. Feel free to show me a video of you doing PvP with this build. I’m very curious if you are for real.

It’s not me who misses, it’s the game mechanic/server or delays who makes it miss. I do WvW so it’s alot less smooth than 5v5 pvp. So it’s a bigger chance to miss.

If you wanted to replicate a real PvP scenario you wouldn’t run this build that’s full offense and zero survival. If you get focused you’re pretty much insta dead.

Fireball is one of the strongest autoattacks in the game, taking in mind that you can have a lava font on the ground at the same time which can be used for damage or to pressure your enemy.
It also has a pretty decent AoE explosion, so if your foe tries to sidestep it and you aim at the ground it will still hit him.
I would argue that earth 1 is pretty bad, but you generally want to stay away from camping earth too long so you shouldn’t autoattack in earth at all.

If you’re going to complain about skills being useless, try scepter first, because compared to scepter skills staff is severely overpowered.

If you consider putting “lava font” at the same time; we’re no longer speaking of auto-attack. Fire auto-attacks never hit and the attack rate is 1 attack pet 1.4 seconds; that’s weak.

Then its just a l2p issue on your end tbh, I rarely miss them.
With some might and vuln fire autoattacks can easily do over 5k damage, and even tho lava font is not an autoattack, it can be used at the same time, and should be taken in consideration when balancing the autoattack around it.
After all, your autoattack is just a filler between skill cooldowns.

Just a little word of advice I guess since missing them is a big deal for you, try binding your action camera on/off toggle to an easily accessible key and turn it on when you have to autoattack so you can aim towards the ground easier, or just get used to the curve they take and aim that way

I think that we’re talking about different game mode here. Lava Font never hit more than once on players, and players strafe, dodge attacks, do dash closer. Fireball crits for 2k big max on light golems. Offensive Staff is good in PvE; absolutely not in PvP.

I don’t know what build you are playing, but you can clearly see I’m doing 4k-ish crits against a light target golem, and 5k when bolt to the heart kicks in.
Staff is good in pvp, it just requires you to actually play well instead of facerolling with some kittenty celestial d/d build

It doesen’t do 4k-5k on that golem without might stacks. You have probably stacked up 25 stacks of might before you attacked it. Wounder how long time you spent on making that picture. I see you got 5 crits in a row, which almost never happens.

It can still deal splash dmg to those who use reflect if it hit’s somebody that doesen’t reflect it, or you aim it at the ground next to them.

I expect it to not miss first of all, and at least deal dmg on pair with other classes 1200 ranged skills. Guardian with scepter can hit 4 times a sec. It’s okey if it’s a slow moving projectile if the hit ratio is high.

Ever seen burning arrows? I don’t see why a fireball couldn’t move that fast. It’s magic after all. :P

Fireball deals the same amount of dmg if they either are standing in lava font or not. I don’t get why you would bring that up.
And i’m not even talking about PvE, i said moving targets. PvE mobs hardly move at all, so that’s not a problem. Sure elementalist got 4 different #1 skills, but that doesen’t give any benefit if they are all less than medicore skills, with the same or longer casting time than other classes. The problem i have with them is that they have like 50% miss ratio on moving targets, and deals a low amount of dmg.

I don’t get why you list this basic info instead of talking about the issue, why do you even comment in my thread?

The skill is bugged, it’s supposed to have insta cast, if you look at the tooltip. But there is a hidden timer on it, and also cancels out alot when you cast other things after.
It’s rly clunky.

Made a thread about it a year ago. Got only one reply, so ofc the devs won’t bother with it. :P

staff is a support weapon. the damage skills are not good on their own in pvp settings, but it has nice utility

Staff is a support/dmg dealer weapon. That’s where the different elements comes in. Fire attunement is all about dmg. So why is it so low? It’s silly that a class like revenant got a better dmg skill, just as long range with 2 more targets, way higher hit chance than a light armored caster. The balance is so bad.

I don’t see how they are not understaffed. Most of the new legendary weapons arent even out. The legendary armor isn’t out. Look at WvW, it’s a mess. The new maps doesen’t even fit into the map design. Look’s like everthyng is rushed out without a 2nd look.

Can you make these skills hit a moving target? These have a horrible hit ratio when you cast them on a moving target. Revenant has like close to 100% hit ratio on hammer 1, faster moving projectile, and like 220% higher damage vs ele fireball and 5 targets vs 3.

I don’t think PPK is a great change, looking at the API numbers. Kills are just a measure of coverage and numbers. Two servers fighting each other both get points for killing each other, more or less regardless of how well they do, but they both gain a lead on the third server just for fighting each other; basically points just for logging in.

And PPT isn’t?

In my eyes PPK is more fair than PPT. It’s better to give points for PPK than giving points to people for fighting empty towers. Alot of servers, like mine enjoy the battles more than doing PPT on empty borders. So it’s nice that they give combat oriented players an option to harvest points aswell.

It’s kinda funny that these minor changes which should not take them much effort/time to implement is just a sneak peak. They could at least tell us that they would remove the terrible desert borderlands, and that we would get new better battle oriented maps, designed for constant action or something. But no, just som lame easy to do things which should have been in the game from the start.

Those are all minor changes. All of them seem to be for the better, but you left the core issues of the game out. It seems to me like you never want to focus on the major problems of WvW, which is skill lag, which again have to do with players, NPC’s especially dollyaks getting out of sync. There are also plenty of other several year old bug reports, you should notice them and fix them. Earlier you decided to lower the player population cap to see if we got less skill lag while you tried to solve it. The fights got close to having no skill lag. Then you decided to raise the cap again without giving us a real fix, so the major skill lag we had is back again. You should also design new borderlands or go back to the other alpine borders. Almost none of the players on my server seem to like the maze running simulator style. The defenders advantage is to high with many of these new gimmicks, like perma chill on certain spots with no indication of where it’s coming from or what’s applying it. No counter?

All you get is a new traitline, class, and a new weapon if you play WvW only. Not worth it at all. WvW is in the worst state it has ever been. Instead of fixing lag. They added more gimmicks, more pve, and stupid vertical maze style designed maps. It’s so horrible right now.

The devs who made the first WvW mode had the right idea. Wounder what happened to them.

Pfffffff, PvD’ers will only have their advantage. Avoid FSP at all costs, keep running around dodging battles and attack empty towers. :P
It should be really easy in the maze marathon running map.
All the fun you guys must be having, i’m not sure if i’m able to take it.

WvW problem is that some people take casual PvP mode too seriously. They blobbing around, using lame specs and tactics. If they wanna play serious PvP they could try to win some sPvP tournament or something.

sPvP is also bad. It’s so much wating 3 min+ to get into one match often. Then there is still PvE trash there aswell. Lame siege on the clocktower map. Spam 2 on a treb, such skill…. And even if you spend alot of time destroying the treb they can just repair it instantly. Caping points is boring. You get more points for killing a pve creature than killing an enemy player. Silly point score system.

Fireball was fine as it was before. Why is this game going downhill superfast? This game was so epic and fun at the release, and now nothing makes sense any longer. It makes me sad. The devs seems to have no clue any longer.

The visual effects were what held me in this game from the beginning. Either Anet is gauging the response to this sorely disappointing move and may change it back or they simply don’t care and others, e.g. guardian, will be next. I felt stupid for leveling an engi just to play with the old orbital strike. Black Desert NA can’t come soon enough.

Black Dessert is a bit over the top again on the visual effects. They got the best ingame graphics and clothing physx from any other MMO’s that i’ve seen thoug.

They cropped the hell out of it. Look’s horrible now.
And you can no longer hit Archers on the wall in WvW with anymore with the splash dmg from it, and not even the inner gate in sm. Another fail patch…

And yea, i got obstructed in the middle of SM at the lord today.
