We had to bunker in last night…. it was a scary time… Bloody scary although at 6am after a long night and having just fully upgraded the Garrison I shouted in Guild Chat “OH MY GOD!!! GARRISON HAS GONE BLUE!!”

Lets just say the guild leader woke up pretty quickly :P Trolling is fun when done right

More emphasis on defending keeps. More rewards for those who actually contribute do their server by purchasing upgrades on camps, keeps and towers. DESTROY the Zerg state of mind!

I was quite surprised to see AR hitting the lowest popped server but if that’s how they want to play then Gandara will probably ignore AM and start hitting them because they’re the only target we can really take although that fight for SH with AM was immense, when they’re not doing their PC/Internet breaking portal bombs which I myself think is a little shady despite awesome organisation then the fights can be amazingly fun.

A mini zerg of Gandarans on the steps and then you look up to see a HORDE of AM’s on the wall above… one commander is yelling retreat, another is yelling push forward…. the fear, the rush, the joy of such an epic battle was brilliant! AM, less portal bombing more fighting. Or if you Portal bomb less than 40 people please this game has already destroyed one graphics card lol.

You can get exotics from crafting and all that jazz, just means levelling crafting. I made my full exotic set in a few days but you can do it in less.

The rewards/drops in WvW aren’t great, you can farm 1-2 gold pretty quickly in PvE but if you’re a good WvW player and you upgrade locations, buy siege blueprints and basically help your server you’re never going to break even in fact you’ll never reach legendary because you’ll always be dipping into your fund for repairs too. I’ve only ever found 1 exotic in WvW and that made me 6g…. I’ve been playing WvW since the game began, well a week after it launched soooooo the returns are pretty dire compared to PvE

Okay, after tonight I know why people are having such a hard time and as a Mesmer I say LIMIT portals to 15-20 people MAX until Culling and AOE issues are fixed. Up against a zerg that has portalling down to a T but once they reach their location they pick everyone off in a turtled formation so AOE does not work.

Another night shift… 7am… dunno why I do it, we’re batting out of our league this week but we’ll put up a great fight!!

I really loved FS last round, they should great couraged and really used their numbers to put the kittens up both servers. I was having a go at our players for being silly enough to attack FS because without you guys putting the pressure on the force that is Fort Ranik, then oh my it woulda been steamroll central.

Quite funny to have Infy say “Night guys” then hours later be back going “Morning, You did go bed, right?”

Despite my sleep deprived grumpyness I have enjoyed matching up against FR this time round and I do think its down to FS. When we’ve gone up spots in the chart before we’ve always been mullered beyond recognition but I think we also have a core of players that are coming together on Gandara, we know which commanders have success rates and which commanders we’d love to leave floundering due to bad ideas and attitudes.

I think we’ve all learned from this week and it’s been great battling out with you both Although the poor French folks in SN get accused of nefarious deeds whenever we match up against a French server

It’s not laughable, you weren’t fighting on our side when we were being pummeled by both servers and if it is true you were hammering Jade Sea then the scores would have evened out like they have when FS finally got into the game. :P

As for support coming in at the final moments of a battle it’s only because guild leaders/guildies are screaming down TS for help, it’s called communication and sometimes it works but 2 people coming along after a fight is hardly a zerg. FR constantly move as a huge group, I only ever encounter Zergs on Gandara when we’re taking property and usually I’m late to that party.

Gotta say though you guys and the fights at Greenvale are great but can you please move your guys out of that spot at the back of GV which seems to act as your spawn. I had to teach people the hard way that Invulnerable means you can’t hit them but they can hit you by not ressing those that constantly kept falling for the trick. You have taught us stuff about placing siege as well and for that I thank thee

We’ll meet again in a week or so I reckon, our numbers are growing but there are times when our players make some very silly mistakes like allowing Bessie to supply Keeps/Towers that we’re attacking. Yesterday when we were attacking DB, the supply kept going up and up and up… We had to send an SN group to smack those French Bessie’s down!

Underworld is a cool name but these posts for Gunnars are popping up everywhere and it seems a tiny bit desperate now.

Quite a few Underworld players moved to Gandara after we faced of against them and although I was sad to see Undy lose players I was happy to see more WvWers on Gandara

If people want to migrate to another server they should do so through organic means as those players from Underworld did last time Posts like this may tempt people over but what about those left behind to struggle? (Pretty sure I know what comes next but what if they DON’T want to move because they like their server?)

With Bloodshot eyes I tell you… I just don’t care anymore. This week has brought out the beast in Torty, I raged and I raged hard, I poked and prodded people but mainly there are some folks on Gandara who love to push my buttons and I let them.

However. It was pretty easy to see that FS really did start to push the french horde back and when we managed to get everything on their map there were a few of us on Gandara who were very much “What do we do now… we need the points” and all that was left was blue. I was in the camp of, don’t push them off because today’s primetime could be crucial it’s that close, we don’t want to piss FS off.

Although there were plenty of times on Weds when you were both hitting us hard. It’s nice to see FR getting a taste of what happened to us when we faced off against them and another french zerg. There were some great moments yesterday but my brain is so fried from all the 7am finishes this week that I just can’t process much ruch now.

You’ve been a great opponent FS, you went from nothing to really becoming a formidable foe not just for the French but for Gandara too.

If someone attacks me I’ll use knock back but I won’t kill them, I think it’s more frustrating for them that way

Although there was someone camping the waterfall entrance hoping to pick off those on half health but we soon showed him the door!

What little night team we have gives up on wednesdays for some reason meaning anything we do from this point forth is fruitless but we still try.

It’s just a shame that Anet still think it’s fun to cap towers when there’s no opposition on the map and reward folks for that. I don’t mind it just means we won’t go up and face tougher opponents and we can take it easy next week if the score gets too far out of control.

FS were on the ball last night, their numbers are increasing by the day and good on ’em for it!

It appears you have woken up but out of the 5 people I’ve downed in the last 15 minutes, the stragglers from your zerg in Gandara Borderlands, I received no credit because they mysteriously vanished. One was an elementalist we chased from the Garrison all the way to Arah and finally downed only to have him vanish. It’s fun to have moments like that but to have the hard work of the chase dimished is a little shallow

Also FS guy in the Gandara BL jumping puzzle trying to pick off people on low health as they jump down into it. Nice try but you came across two little Asura who showed you it’s not always fun to pick on the weak ones

Well I was a little ball of Rage yesterday after having a slight disagreement with a commander that I’ve had run ins before. I know everyone learns but when you flat out know a plan isn’t going to work, take on board what this person is telling you… In the end I had to leave when I got told to “leave it” and then the person “in charge” sold my plan as his own.

I raged so hard because I knew that we were missing vital points like supply camps and supply was free flowing to towers the french had meaning their upgrades were going on while we were fruitlessly attacking DB. I whispered the other commander on the map, apologised for my little spat in /t and said I had to go because I couldn’t be around to watch Gandara BL turn green at peak time….

It did.. Happy to help a new commander out with their plan but only if that plan is effective and not a waste of the zergs time. He’ll learn from the mistake and hopefully he’ll be better for it.

Can’t wait till I get my halo!!

Fsyak, there are plenty of decently sized WvW guilds on Gandara, moving only adds to our woes but as long as yer happy playing the game.

They keep making fun of me because this match up is making me Ragey!!! I know we can’t afford to make too many mistakes like get caught up in badge farming parties or choosing which silly location to sacrifice to save another.

Encountered a few loggers from other servers too during night service despite being outnumbered Works both ways… don’t forget that, while you might not do it others on your server and other servers are.

Only time I grief in a jumping puzzle is when I do it and even then I don’t kill the person on the puzzle, I knock them off to stress them out a little making tapping space seem like one of the most anxious experiences in the world

To be fair, Star has a HUGE point here…. Mesmers are squishier than soggy bread. If you can’t kill a Mesmer before he/she gets to their target location then you deserve to be portal bombed. Mr ‘Organisation’ if you can’t coordinate three mesmers to portal in 15 then you don’t have skill needs to remember that a mesmer actually has to get through the enemy line.

I think the cap on AoE targets damaged needs to be removed. The culling issues makes portals a nightmare for some but zergs also use the AoE limitations to their advantage. I think servers would be more tactical if AoE limitations were removed.

You folks seem to forget that not all Mesmers like to be handcuffed to a golem for a rather long amount of time. We do a portal, we have to watch for the CD fastened to a Golems side, we also have to lose a skill because of portal that could make us less squishy when jumped upon when we do indeed get to the battle field.

People treat us like taxi services at times “Portal here!”, like it’s our duty to ferry people around in some grand attempt to take a keep. Most people even if you put a portal below their feet and get behind the enemy lines in GV won’t use the portal and the heroic attempt to break stalemate means nothing!

Portals are not breaking WvW, if there was no culling issue people would still complain. The problem with WvW is that there’s no surprises or variety now.

Zergs are killing any tactical game play possible. I spent a lot of gold and time placing Sieges on DB friday night and BUILDING every single one with another Gandaran. The walls hit tier 3 and I thought it was safe to finally sleep. Oh how wrong I was… sieges despawned over time so that money I’d sunk in to prime real estate meant nothing. Portals bombs might mean a repair bill for you due to death but disappearing sieges in correct locations just ain’t gravy!

FS are in the game and I’m loving the match up now!! FR are being hit from both sides as are we and I’m sure FS are too as we battle to control our borderlands. :P

A great set of disputes today and the odd moment where you’re running from the FR zerg only to run into mini groups of FS and be “Ohhhhhhhhhh KITTEN!!”

Strange since they work on my server. So clearly what works for me doesn’t work for you because you clearly think everyone has the same experience as you…

Try, lead by example and people will follow, eventually but brush ‘em off like you just did there and they’ll leave you in the dirt.

It’s the people that complain about repairs in WvW, these are the folks who have probably never even considered sinking gold into a keep/tower etc etc.

WvW as it stands reward the Zerg, AOE can’t stop them…. our keeps that we sink gold in to go undefended because there are no rewards for contributing to upgrades, building, placing siege etc…. there’s no community driven rewards for protecting what you have.

It drives me nuts because I upgraded DB the other day, Tier 3, waypoint, places Arrow carts along the inner/outer wall built them up and then when teh zerg came to take it… the sieges had despawned!!

If you’re considering EU: Gandara is in need of fresh blood. We have a great WvW and of course all families have the odd spat but we get over them pretty quickly.

Our delivery Dolyak is called Bessie, she’s the most important thing to us on the map and to see Bessie flying the coloured flag of another server means we have failed. It’s always fun to liberate her though.

We’re a very driven server, when a commander is online whose kind, thoughtful and expresses a clear plan, you’ll find people lining up to follow you. We have a mini night service which is currently growing as we keep rising in the charts although when we hit a certain point like this week our numbers need a desperate boost

We know how to have fun, we know when we’re bested but we’ll fight until the bitter end!

There was a point last night when we were a strong little group and saw FS trebbing a camp, the guys were on TS going there’s people ATTACK…. and one of your guys came down to see what I was doing. Tried to stop the team from attacking you guys as a mini gesture of “Lets get green” but one of ours bounced in head first…. of course he went alone and learned his lesson. Torty had to tell him off!

The sheer numbers of Fort Ranik win again, I feel when AoE limits are opened up then zerging will become a thing of the past.

Unfortunately the majority of Gandara don’t understand teh gold sink that upgrading keeps and towers is, plus with no real rewards for holding supply, building siege and of course upgrading locations a lot of people just go on a Karma run or get into the habit of farming badges.

There was a moment last night when FR were hitting us hard. It was clear to see they’d started by cutting off our supply to stop our upgrades which cost a helluva lot but the only commander on the map failed to see it and that they’d got themselves into a badge farming scenario… he wouldn’t move to the only green tower on the map which had supplies flowing freely to it and that was the beginning of the end for Gandara Borderland.

That and all the siege I’d put down on outer wall of DB (arrow carts, Balistas, etc) had all vanished by the time FR made their move. Not sure why they despawned but it certainly cost us.

It’s a lot of fun but the rofflestomping will lead to a lot of folks going to PvE content in a day or two.

I love Gandara though they’ll keep fighting until their noses are bloody and their knuckles are red raw!

Good fights last night, caught a Gandaran in my party using the disconnect feature and told him not to, he stopped but if you guys spot anyone doing that on your server then please do the same.

I saw FS out and about tonight bed at 7am and Fort Ranik still have us outmanned…. it’s such a ball ache!

If AOE effectively dealt with zergs then it would be okay but it doesn’t.

Such a scary match up. Fort Ranik have bested us twice now I believe… Nice to see a new server in the line up though.

At 6am I met my first american on Gandara Lovely fella, come play with him. I felt sorry for him a lil as our night service is finally starting to expand but isn’t tehre yet!

Team Porn Star!!!! And then when the rest of the team give up I team up with some guys from [NGI] and become ASURA ON PATROL!!! Need to work on the ‘Bad Boys’ song and incorporate Asura somehow…

Bessie needs me!!!

I do admit that if you’re buying siege and what not, placing it down, I do think that there should be a buff on loot received from killing in WvW as you are laying down costly weapons etc etc as well as facing repair bills.

Some sort of siege master buff that would encourage others to buy and lay down siege. Buff only activates if siege is successfully built

What a lovely idea. Unfortunately I spend most of my time listening in on my guilds TS3 and thankfully our guild leader lets us invite other Gandarans in who play with us on a regular basis.

I’m a traditionalist on MMO’s, I prefer to keep the text in the game flowing to make the world feel a lil more alive. They had to drag me kicking and screaming to the current server… you’d need cookies and cheese to get me to another….

On Gandara we’re a strange mixed of play for fun and focused guild. We work together with the occasional spat and whilst we love tactical play there are times when a Zerg needs to be taught a lesson with a Gandaran kitten slap

Gandara isn’t just about winning, it’s about creating a valuable and welcoming WvW community. This week I’ve seen just how hard our night service works despite their numbers and it would be amazing to add to their numbers so that we can start moving up the ranks. We float around the mid section of the rankings because the higher we go, we just can’t compete with the night service of other servers.

With you on our side, we can indeed compete and after a couple of weeks if you don’t fall in love with us, you can always try one of the other suggestions

So how do you go up the ranks, do they put us in order of scores or are other factors brought in. I really don’t know how they match it up.

Actually, a little bit offended re-reading the post as it kind of suggest that everyone on Gandara does it and as a result has no skill.

Not sure if you checked the scores last night and the day before, and the day before that. We were third from reset but it looks like we’ll be finishing first Kills mean not a lot in WvW if you don’t have the monopoly property to support it.

I have to admit that I was in a party with a guildy and some randoms in WvW the other day. I noticed the guildy’s portrait go black from time to time and I asked them if they were still in the BG… I soon figured out they were logging off and had to tell them to stop it because it’s not fair and it is in a way cheating.

They got the message and stopped. This is a problem across all servers and although Gandarans do have their fair share of bad eggs we pride ourselves on trying to be the best that we can be.

I’ve had my fair share of AM and Drakky’s logging out. One even logged out as my group of five ran towards him to claim a camp. There’s blame on each side and it’s up to guilds and party members to let folks know that logging out is indeed wrong.

If you ask me the jumping puzzle rewards should be kept in the hardest keeps to attack on each map. You kill the keep lord and the chest appears :P

One thing I do wish is that players can change the colours of Commander icons so they know which ones to follow.

We had one commander in the jumping puzzle at peak time when we were struggling the other night on Gandara. Asked him nicely with a please to turn it off and lets just say his comments in return weren’t on the same level of civility.

I’m not even sure my commander knows about it… Now I needs to gold so every WvW night can be a parrrrtay
