I think it’s okay to farm and do whatever you want in W3 but at peak times I think players need to stop the jumping puzzles, farming and come together when folks are ‘barking’ in the chat
Gandara struggles with numbers and it’s always somewhat annoying as a casual player to see people keeping possible people who would help protect keeps/castles jumping from A to B or just doing their own thing as places begin to fall and panic erupts in chat as a supply depot gets taken down.
It’s a team thing even if you go in alone… chat should always be open just in case you’re close to someone that does need help

I don’t see what the huge deal is with night capping. I play a lot at night, should I be upset by day capping? The battle ebbs and flows….or it would be sooo boring to log in and everything is exactly as I left it. Its a 24 hour game…this is how it is….Anet said this is how it will be.
Yes but whilst you’re not on at Peak Time the fight is waging on at a pretty even place and those who don’t have the cover for Night Capping are doing well at winning territory back.
My gameplay is mixed, I can be on at peak or play through to 4am if I wanted to but there’s no point running around a map at 4am alone in the hope that I can pummel a door down on my own against a possible night team from another server.
I know latency is the issue but I’d love a varied contact base. Gandara is a great server and at the moment I’ve only ever really gone in to Gandara Borderlands but due to the nature of the game you don’t want to leave as you’ll have invested coin in keeps, equipment in play and you want to make sure that everything is working to yours and your teams advantage.
I’m loving the WvWvW but even as a casual gamer mostly, the switch between night and day is as different as urrrrr night and day
I’m pretty sure Anet will figure something out but its just an option, kitten internets why won’t you be faster?!?!?!

I didn’t even realise you could upgrade Bessie!!!
WvWvW Player Who Doesn’t Have Much of A Clue
I think a small slip in Latency is something I’d take for a fighting chance at winning instead of the usual “There’s A Zerg coming…. but everyone’s gone to bed… time to call it a night too”

I have to say there should be a radius for escorting Bessie the Dolyak which the longer you stay within it for the escort the more karma/XP you get… I’ve defended Bessie a lot, she means a great deal to me. There have been times when I’ve been paying for upgrades to Sunny and to see her come over the hill is such a morale boost as she brings the supplies that makes spending my hard earned silver worth while.
I do think those paying for upgrades should be rewarded somehow as well. If you’re protecting a keep/spot you should be rewarded, perhaps a counter for the time you spend there and when the keep finally gets attacked maybe as someone suggested an increased number of badges and what not or drops….
Something that makes it worth while for the waiting. I spend most of my time with the keeps I spend coin on to upgrade and call out incoming but I do feel that there should be a penalty for taking supplies from a Keep/Castles Supply Stash… say you get 5 instead of 10. People just don’t understand that its for upgrading stuff and it gets annoying!

Surely it makes sense for Anet to keep players happy by having Battlegrounds going all day and all night long. It’s clear to see that Night Capping is upsetting a lot of folks and surely the solution would be to have some servers that are ‘world servers’ which would mean big battles are on going night and day.
How fun can it be for Night cappers to know that tehy took a map with no one fighting for it? Hmmm?
I know it has everything to do with latency and connections n what not but surely it’s a possibility. Right?
I’m new to all this so be gentle…
I love WvWvW but it’s terrible to come on to a map and see it’s nearly been ravaged by another server and not have enough people to fight off their hordes, then at peak time you make such progress that you’re on top of the world only to see it swiftly shift back into the other servers favour as people go to bed and what not…

Fair play, I can make a super speedy supply run from Sunny to Titan with Blink and my Speedy boost timed correctly
Just gotta shove down the AOE and pray.
WvWvW Player Who Doesn’t Have Much of A Clue
About to hit level 30 but I’ve found a combination of Blink and the temp speed boost you get from that off hand thingy can help you keep up if not get ahead of the crowd. Of course as it’s not one of my main weapon set ups, I’m always in the Equipment screen switching it out for my pistol.

Okay I’ve not read the majority of posts but Gandara is getting Zerged from two sides at the moment, one server by day, the other by night..
It’s really demoralising as a player and as a result players leave. I think when servers are outnumbered perhaps a server message could be put out to the server struggling with numbers in certain warzones to say "Hey your server needs you in…. currently outnumbered ? to 1…. "
Possibly offer a mild incentive to get those who wouldn’t normally play WvW to urrr play….
I love WvW but today was just balls to the wall insanity….

I kinda think if you plant your banner you should have 1 or 2 people remain behind but the game doesn’t reward you for keeping what you already have… It rewards the server but whilst your team is out there killing and earning XP you can be twiddling your thumbs until the other server plucks up the courage to attack.
I sat on Crags most of the day today, making sure we had enough siege equipment, calling in the group to mop up the zerg that came along which thankfully the siege equipment gave us enough time to hold them off.
But very little reward for guarding our assets…
I think if a guild places a banner on a keep then they should have to stay in some capacity at that keep

I actually hadn’t encountered the invisibility thing until just after the patch and there were less people on than there was earlier in the day and they all appeared to load just fine
WvWvW Player Who Doesn’t Have Much of A Clue
I think the game is more geared towards piling in than getting people to talk to each other in game. If we were thrown into groups when we entered events that might work out for the better and engage players into adventuring together after the event comes to a close.
As a beginner, I’ve found myself somewhat at a loss for company, I’ve tried being witty and engaging in general through /say but people are always focused on moving forward, getting money, getting geared, getting to 80.

Hi Folks,
Just to give you an idea of how noobish I am when it comes to Guild Wars 2; when I first started playing Mesmer my clones had me so confused I tried to attack myself.
Yep, that’s me. the Mesmer that tries to hit himself with a stick. I’m not new to MMO’s thought and I’m looking for a casual guild who doesn’t mind questions is happy to group up and PvP/WvWvW (When I finally get to that level) and just have some fun whilst folks do their thing around the world.
The only thing I don’t like is folks who take games too seriously and all that Jazz. Drama and all that other stuff that comes with being in a guild I don’t mind.
I’m ‘Tortun Buz’ in the game. My time is limited but I try and get online when I can between Job Searching and reviewing films that isn’t often but when I get online I’m happy to fall in line and be part of the family

I started playing last night and I’m only level five trying to figure out what I’m doing but when it comes to gear when should I be looking to upgrade as a Mesmer? What stats should I be looking for?
What sort of gear is there? When can I start playing PvP.
In my previous MMO’s I’ve played PvP healers… rush in heal until spotted, get ganked, rush in again, Res, heal… rinse and repeat but since the holy trinity is gone, I’m trying to find my place in Guild Wars 2 and I thought Mesmer would be a mighty fine place to start.
Although when I started out I have to say my doubles appeared to confuse me more than it did the target.
Oh and Skill Points? What’s that all about?
WvWvW Player Who Doesn’t Have Much of A Clue
I’ve just started but I’ve been reading threads for ages now and I’m quite surprised that WvWvW names are hidden for friends and foes because I found on TOR that the RP community on both sides often had fun with the rivalry of it all. Some would even hop onto an alt and congratulate the other player that made their lives difficult.
If things were going bad we’d stop and chat in the middle of an arena when all was lost.
It was cool and Community for me is a number 1 must for any MMO but I think the time for community has come and gone now MMO’s cater more for the soloing crowd
.
Games like Final Fantasy XI made it so the community had to work together and I’m pretty sure I’ll find that in GW2 at some point when I start getting my character level up and end up in WvWvW but at the moment I’m in the starting area worrying about currency, micropayments and what everything does. Totally lost but I’ll find my place.
Playing a Mesmer and I’m confusing myself when I see little me’s running ahead and hitting targets… “hold on a sec…. oh kitten, it’s my class!”
