Devs also didn’t design the game so you could discover the names of commanders etc in game, they removed that so people couldn’t communicate with the enemy :P

Livius, I think most of us were just upset that these people directly contacted the other side to organise this thing and were probably messaging in game to ensure the same targets where hit at the same time That’s all. We fought hard to reach this tier, we’re unorganised slobs at the best of times but the majority try (excluding some glitchers who I have been reporting when I’ve spotted them, some I actively sought out as reports came in).

The match up as been great and Afro Ele has been fun to try and kill with my squishy mesmer too. Although he usually bests me… Booooooooooo

My apologies if I was wrong but I clearly saw a Mesmer move from the door up to the platform, not from the roof of the supply hut to the stairs which is a very different route, I targeted the first person to hop through the portal entrance and it was a GG member but only one, the rest were from other guilds so you might be talking about a totally separate time. :P

As for evidence if glitchers were easy to spot there’d be more being banned due to reports but they’re not so when something seems fishy 9 times out of 10 it usually is.

As I said, I’ve been reporting exploiters on my side to guild leaders and if they have a devil may care attitude, I’ve later been reporting the players in question to Anet. I don’t want glitchers on my server, they might think they’re helping but they just tarnish the hard work but disorganised work we out into climbing the ladder.

It´s not supposed to be fair, it´s not supposed to be balanced and it´s not supposed to give everyone a medal for simply being there. By design the wvw is unfair. It was designed so that such strategies would be possible.

The game is not designed for two servers to talk to each other as has been happening to create this alliance, it’s why they removed member names from the ‘report’ function.

There’s two servers using their brains to go “Oh that fellas ahead, we could let off the other team and target them” but when a server circumvents the system to contact commanders on another server then it’s kinda like glitching… it’s an exploit of the system.

Gandara has laid has targeted servers from time to time and often waved at the odd fella to say “You go girl” but we’ve never actively sought an alliance with another server and PLANNED simultaneous attacks on them.

As for balance? If it’s not supposed to be balanced then why have the Tier system?

I get why you’re doing it but I just don’t see why this has to be our introduction to this new tier… but we shall fight on regardless, about to snatch the lead back.

Fact is, if you spend your GW2 life in WvW upgrading, buying and placing siege etc, you’ll never have the 100g for the icon lol

Night capping on Christmas Eve can be COUNTERED with increasing your night service or staying up an extra couple of hours another night this week to support your night crew. A show of force in the early hours usually pushes others servers to quit and go sleep.

How do you expect one server to counter TWO servers ganging up on another server. You say we QQ about the ‘Alliance’ but at least you can counter your issues with Christmas Day capping and believe me, you had quite a few people playing on the 24th DURING the day which is when the capping occured.

You’ve all said you respect and follow your commanders so how do you know the alliance has come to an end? You may be following your commander blindly into an unfair win which is how we currently see it as the scores are still pretty level between Piken and AR and both sides are sticking to the same halves of the map.

You’re either experienced an sheep (singular) or you’re failing to see the 24hourness that WvW holds.

And if you want sweeping generalisations to stop then stop making them yourself. It seems what’s right for you isn’t right for the other Snow.

Snow, as much as the experiment was good for you. It’s totally demoralising for the server on the receiving end especially as the 12 hour time limit on this alliance seems to be extending to reset tomorrow

Logged on today to see the map split once again with Gandarans working hard to fend off both sides in similar attacks to yesterday meaning we don’t have enough to cover the onslaught from both servers.

Although AR are a little bit silly because after the 12 hours and Piken were in the lead again the agreement supposedly ended still leaving them in third. They don’t appear to be getting much out of it.

Fact is despite your ‘strength’ as a server you had to make a deal with another server to split the map down the middle and lock us out. Hardly strength. Yes it’s the holidays but our players took holidays too and we’ve also had the outmanned buff as well.

I’d like to slip out of the realm of arrogance next week and back down to the lower levels. We’re very happy to call out the exploiters on our side who are ruining the game but to be honest the past couple of days INCLUDING our Christmas day was World and World vs World.

Merry Christmas, congratulations on your past victories and if you win this one, it’s really undeserved even if you think we don’t deserve it despite players on both not being outmanned when we were ‘Christmas Capping’.

In some cases we were a team of five, playing cat and mouse with larger groups when it came to AR capping.

You say we have a population advantage but with two servers actively working together to split the map, that really doesn’t stand for diddly, so instead of saying that Gandarans aren’t understanding perhaps you could take a little bit of time to digest that any population advantage goes out the window when TWO server populations are actively helping one and other to ‘fix’ the score.

I think the new boys have every right to be a little angry as the only time we’ve encountered double teaming is when we faced two french servers. To be honest, if that’s what you need to resort to with all your ‘mighty’ guilds etc, then fair play… perhaps you’re not as mighty as you make out in the post above.

Although the Alliance between servers does make me a little sad being the first time in this tier, it’s also sad that such a push may have turned any newer WvW players off to WvW on our servers because the constant barrage from both side will have provided a WTK (What the Kitten) response from them, especially since /t chat has been filled with lots of silliness and discussion about it all.

I also have to apologise for the reported exploiting thats been going on. I know of one lot for sure and I will be talking to their guild leader about it as exploiting in my eyes should never be an option even if the enemy has decided to ram it in both ways until you bleed.

I also have to admit that when the group were exploiting I may have warned a former Gandaran who is now on Piken of the coming sneak attack. Needless to say they were killed just in time. Not proud of the betrayal but despite being war, there are rules of engagement and they must be adhered to!

You’re actually doing me a favour by pushing us back down, I need sleep!!! Ever since Fort Ranik and the rise I’ve not slept… I’ve even done gaming sessions from 4pm till 9am on the weekends because the time has just got away from me.

I don’t mind it, I’m enjoying the badge farming that’s happening because there are small groups that can only hold certain points. Also having fun running into the same Ele on AR Borderland.

Everyone is going to get double teamed at one point in WvW but I just haven’t seen it this blatantly obvious before.

Although I’m very disappointed to see EB split down the middle again and the points becoming very difficult to cap as we’re hit from both sides, I don’t mind because in some ways its making Gandara work together and the PUGs that zerg try a little harder. So this little Alliance may push us back down but it’s teaching us to work together a lil more

lol we had outmanned on too cause AR rock was attacking Bay and Hills at the same time you were each took north/south each time and then the same happened on garrison until the map was split equally between Blue and Green

Soooooo under this set of coincidences Gandara was almost certainly outmanned which is why we had to switch borders

It’ll be back to normal for everyone on wednesday urrrr Thursday hopefully since the UK has Boxing Day tomorrow It’ll get back on track but you two are big meanies :P

Same as us. To say our lead is hollow when we were fighting your forces is a little shallow. Having a lot of fun but on our christmas day (25th) both servers came at us hard and split our borderland right up the middle along with EB.

I’m having fun, it’s a tough slog but don’t try and belittle any of the effort we put in just because your forces happen to be taken a break, like ours are today. Each and every player has a role to play at any given day during match ups and to say anything we claimed yesterday was hollow was a lil silly considering you did have players on defending and capping stuff at the same time.

Why are there posts like this?

The game is what you make it, if you’re filled with endless zergs then make plans of action to change that.

I led a 4 hour attack on fully upgraded SM, began outmanned and as word spread EB began to fill up and the week long home to the german server had it’s wall taken down and inner gate taken down.

I loved it!! It was the best time I’ve ever had on WvW and although it wasn’t successful it was a right hoot scaring the winning force and attempting to evict them from their week long home

To be fair it’s not a hollow victory considering up until yesterday our night service paled in comparison to the other servers in this match up so taking advantage of one day over every night? That ain’t really a fair statement :P

Most of the guilds I play with stay out of EB, last week I with Lloantix and Eno, pulled off a death defying four hour siege on Stonemist which saw EB pull together for a higher goal but bedtimes being what tehy are saw our numbers dwindle before the pay off :P

Borderlands is where the real action is at, like just now…. AR and PS just zerged Gandara BL together, hitting the same targets from both sides….. When AR took Garrison I decided to use myself as bait to lure PS over to AR and hope they spot one and other lol.

Not True… a few weeks back we finally beat Fort Ranik with just a little under the team they were fielding for their night crew

When I went to be AR had quite a big amount taking Bay…. only 5 of us defending against 15 to 20

Busy day today, very busy day. PS woke up though, defending bay trying to get people to go over the wall but they sat on catas and when I finally got outside I had two lovely Asura assist me in facing off against a force of ten or more, we took a number down and had a lot of fun doing it. Unfortunately while we were busy beating up long leggers, a force got in and took the lords room.

No word from the two people inside, telling us to move in… Doh!!!

As for those dodgy commanders, it’s pretty shallow for any server to ruin a players experience by sending anyone to mess with a server let alone get these people to spam /t /m chat with a bit of idiocy to ruin the balance of a server through flaming.

DO we really need to say that this behaviour is ok? “Let’s push other players out of WvW by making their experience a pile of kittens, that’d be awesome”.

Anyway, had a fun night in WvW last night, AR were after bay watergate which cause quite a bit of panic due to our limited number on the map at the time but a well placed arrow cart and pew pew pew!

I’d hardly say, moving to a spot where you can’t be killed is a game mechanic. :P

I know Gandarans also use it and I tell them not to be such cowards. Same goes for any other server, take the fall like a man or get your bum out in to PvE with the fluffy bunnies n stuff

Just join the squads of the commanders you trust and the rest go poof from your map

Okay so it’s pretty clear to see that the majority in WvW want the zerg mentality to come to an end and some sort of defense based scoring to come in to it.

So, why not have a point system that only dishes out rewards at the end of each point tally, Capping towers/keeps would keep you in the karma/money but the rewards would tick up as long as you held it… lets say that point gets taken within the tally and if you manage to flip it in the next tally or the one after you get half reward for it but the point tick for holding that point again would remain the same value in karma/copper.

The tick on karma/copper would also increase if a keep is tier 2 and then a touch more for tier 3.

Putting a more valuable amount on upgrading and holding locations…. rather than the endless zerg that keep flipping places and allow other players to lose hard earned gold, it might also mean that players take risks by holding objectives in other borderlands

Of course you’d also get influence for the number of events your guild took part in during that round.

I really have no idea if that made sense but in my head it kinda did.

Torti with an I, to be fair to PS and that ‘exploit’ if you’re silly enough to be lured back there then shame on you too They have to come for the camp, that’s the objective for being there. Wait them out…. they have to move in at some point

Thanks for the support tonight guys, it’s not easy to command without an icon but I really enjoyed the 3 to 4 hour siege on stonemist, tried to get as many guilds in as possible but the numbers fell because the personal gain wasn’t as good as the overall point gain.

I do have a question for Riverside though… Did you panic? Even just a little bit? And how did you fix everything so quickly towards the end? Were you pulling in supply from the other towers around sm or just supply camps?

It was a lot of fun tonight, once again thanks to all the gandarans who came to the aid of Tortys vengeful plan. I raged heavily the other night…. So I had to do something and since the current places aren’t in jeopardy I thought why not give it a go

Without an Icon might I add…. :P I was so hoping we’d get it but people started getting bored and abandoning the fight, they don’t like Karma that takes a while to come their way.

I hate the fact that there’s no rewards for upgrading, I spent 10g this week alone upgrading a keep I claimed twice and finishing upgrades on stuff that other guilds had claimed and abandoned either to go to bed or they hadn’t even bothered with upgrades at all.

I was lucky however because I was in a total rage last night and stated my dislike for guilds that claimed without upgrading and got a 5g donation

I became very annoyed the other day when I claimed a keep for my guild and began upgrades there but also fully upgraded the camp nearby only to see that a guild had claimed my hard work upgrading the camp… I thought “Hey, I’m gonna pick up supply now and get an additional five….” nope… they just wanted to make my expense look like their own.

I’ve also found that I’m having to upgrade locations claimed by other guilds who either didn’t plan ahead and had to go to bed or just want the claiming rights so they can see their pretty logo on a bunch of banners.

PLEASE add guild tags below the logo so we can see whose claiming what. Buffs I don’t mind so much, I only activate ours when we’re under attack as per guild leaders say so.

Get that mesmer out of our BL!!! I wanna know what they’re wearing and what build they are, they kept kicking my squishy kitten img src="/include/images/smilies/smile.png" /> Millers you got a gifted exploder there!

I have to say there was one night you guys Zerged and I said on TS, I swear if Five of us ran through the middle of it and split the zerg in half, post halves would panic and turn on each other

You were suffering from the “Chasing strays” zerg no no which minimised the impact of what you were trying to do. Last night was hard in fact I think the rest of this week will be tough as RS are really going at us like we’re a redneck stepchild or something lol

Our guild leader keeps trying for tactics but I find we always play best when we just let loose and have fun. Sometimes that involves sleeping on a wall though

Zergs are zergs… there’s organised groups and then theres the “Oooo look an icon… smash, kill, win” meanwhile they’re not looking at the map or interested in defense of any kind

I watched it and I can see why it’s blocked in Germany, the countless people that fell to XxX in that video are just scary, even scarier is the fact that the leader in question just ignored a present!!!!

Yeah but there are locations where trebs can be placed that no one can reach unless the keep/tower is taken… Considering Arrow Carts only do damage to players and don’t have the range or power to destroy another keeps walls then urrrr thas a silly argument. You don’t like the placement of siege that you can’t destroy, then get a group together and go “oi zerg, there be siege I don’t like… come knock down this door/wall”

Arrow carts for an outmanned server are integral and can often be lifesavers until the enemy fomulates another plan :P

I logged out much earlier to watch a movie, we know how the night time ends up and as the numbers began to dwindle a lot earlier tonight I just couldn’t be fussed lol.

Some great fights today, had some fun sieging up a camp with rams in the alcove beating those up that attempted to enter lol RS must of thought we were crazy but their numbers were plentiful and we were but a few lol

Zergs don’t learn or think for themselves… they don’t think of the group only fast Karma and Silver/XP.

A zerg thinks keeps/towers/camps magically upgrade themselves, they don’t think of the greater good, the point of sacrificing their current capping objective to come and save the T3 keep thats under attack.

There should be rewards for upgrading positions, there should be rewards for laying down siege when a keep is contested etc… there needs to be a reward system in place that rewards those who actually play the game tactically and think about upgrading, protecting what’s theirs.

Urrrrrr you imply that golems are bought by one person, usually a golem mini army is placed down by a number of people so Karma/gold/badges they’ll always be there if the group decides they want them.

Ahem!!! As a mesmer I think you’ll find that not ALL of us use exploits and most of us will ASK how someone got in a keep and REFUSE to use a portal if and when the taking of a keep/tower is dubious.

My portals are 100% fair!

Those skills tag players, giving folks minor healing over time doesn’t tag the enemy

Support players have never really been rewarded in MMO’s…. you could spend your time as a full healer in other MMO’s in PvP and you’d get very little reward whilst they reaped in the benefits of it all.

It’s poopy but it happens in every MMO.
