As a mesmer learning to use portals, most people seem to ignore them anyway, a number of times I’ve managed to announce I’m starting a portal and got BEHIND the enemy lines that are basically badge farming is quite remarkable, some leading to my death at the last moment but people in those situations seem happier to farm than look for a tactical victory

Not sure how you fix portals but Mesmers already have a hard enough time farming and tagging people to get rewards because their damage dealing phantasms not only have an animation to cast but they also have an animation that kicks in before the phantasms start doing their thing :P

I’d prolly stop playing Mesmer if they started nerfing support stuff which is very handy in my fave game type (When people use it, that is)

To be fair Mr Allways, I’m not asking them to create a new map or reinvent WvW as it stands. I’m possibly asking them to flick a switch or implement something that could be bought through gems or gold. :P Or even added for free because WvW is about grouping and being part of the community. I’m only looking to expand party slots in an option that appears to be available else where as there is a squad option and squad chat.

I have a TS which I do with my guild I often like to party up outside my guild as well or invite people into party slots with my guild when they’re available because shock horror, I’ve made a few pals in the game. :P

Will Squads ever be enabled? I enjoy running round in a full party but I enjoy partying with different people. For others having a larger group would be tactical but for me it’s about having fun with friends.

Will we ever be allowed bigger parties in WvW? It might even help with the constant zerging issue as a bigger party will probably lead to those groups branching off to do stuff on their own or maybe even DEFEND… shock horror.

Tried to cap a supply camp last night but couldn’t because a thief was permastealth… I say couldn’t we tracked him down but he kept going in to stealth which made things VERY annoying considering the size of the area made to cap.

They’re doing a job but it’s the size of the capping area that makes things annoying…. Reduce the size of the capping area don’t nerf the thief, even a squishy Mesmer like me can take down a thief or make him run in the right conditions.

I think guilds should be looking to move within their bracket.

Gandara has had its fair share of being rofflestomped by the opposition but they’ve also had their fun with very close battles. I thought this week would be a wash for us but much like last week we clawed our way out of 3rd place and managed to move to 1st and have been increasing the lead ever since.

Although last night I felt guilty as we did actually miraculously have a mini night service who scrubbed the red team off the map. I myself wanted to keep the Red and Green teams in a close bracket so that second and third would indeed have a reason to fight until weeks end for second place. Lets face it, it keeps second place from eyeing up Gandaras gold medal

Also the problem with guilds moving to new servers to play WvW is they try to slot into already established communities where they tend to be bossy or don’t wait and judge to see how a server community works.

Two German servers this week….. last night was just…. we were Poland.

Seafarers whilst I appreciate that we alllllllllllll need people to cover every hour of the day and night in WvW, forum threads to recruit are fine but last week you guys sent a couple of guild recruiters to at first get people to join guilds and then when your week was up take those players back with you.

A) We need and like our players, we have a good community on our server.
B) You actively took up spots in WvW to nick players, so you may as well have been doing the jumping puzzle.

We all have nightcapping issues but keep underhand recruitment off the books, just makes you seem desperate.

It ain’t peak yet… I’ll be on in an hour and you shall feel the wrath of Torty!!!

I think it was Unity, we were stood on one of the keeps watching and having a number of discussions on whether or not you were:

A) Bots
B) Insane
C) A Hive Mind of Long Leggers, come to kill the Jewel of Gandara (ME!) and Oppress our mighty Lady of Gandara; Bessie! (The Delivery Dolyak)

Be thankful you ain’t seen any AM’s cause oh my when you do… one pops in and then an army pops in behind them. I know when to run and when I see the AM tag, I run.

Their night service is a little lazy though, they just zerg through the map with five golems taking everything. Oh the panic when you see those golems….

Oh and I dunno what one of the servers was on but there was the weirdest conga line last night. They moved like them migrating little birds you see….all over the place but sticking together, they even ignored some of us despite having the numbers to stomp us out in seconds

Gandarans flying? I can tell you now we don’t support hacks or Mesmer glitching, some folks seemed all too ready to portal through the first gate late last night but our Zerg told the folks involved to do it the legit way or they’d be reported and the mini Zerg we had would abandon them.

If you see anyone on our side being naughty and exploiting give us a few details like guild tag and we’ll sort ‘em out. I’ll set my attack char on them!!

But it’s all gobbledy kitten… I need a little more point and click direction just to get me started. Which recipes would get me the gear I’m looking for either rare or exotic? Karma Vendors and all that jazz…. from there I could probably figure it out, it’s just getting started on my quest for better gear.

Help me!! I’m a level 80 Mesmer and I feel like I’m getting nowhere when it comes to gear. I leveled up tailoring to 400 but have no clue where to go from there. I know I need a magic find set and I also know that I want a precision/power set for glass cannon antics featuring lots of BLEED but have no idea where to start

Can anyone supply some recipes for Magic Find and a glass cannon set? Step by step would be nice… I’m getting rather annoyed having a shed load of mats and no clue where to start in making the gear I want.

I have looked at google but all I keep coming across is pictures of gear

As a squishy Mesmer, I hate thieves but you can use a knock back/AOE to de-stealth them. :P

They’re tough to counter but you can do it.

I was away at the weekend, so didn’t get a chance to get on much but I’ve seen Gandara go from third to second and then totally begin to start closing the gap on first.

We have a habit of leaving our stations when events are on but we never give up when Bessie needs us the most!

The queue time on gandara really isn’t long at all and you can usually hop into a borderland while you wait…

Funny experience tonight in a borderland, two trebs up and we were smashing down a Jade Sea wall, things were getting touch and go for them. Then we hear “INCOMING!” and look behind us to see Fort Ranik in all their glory come and take us down, only to move on without continuing what we’d started.

Working together or not that seems suspicious!

Plus we’ve named our Dolyak which makes us the best server ever. Long live Bessie!

So because other servers are aggressively going after Underworld players you figured it’s okay to throw aspersions around about another server without any proof and make us look bad despite us having a very friendly and chilled WvW community?

That seems a lil silly, have a go at seafarers :P

If you’re unhappy with Gandara then why haven’t you made the same protest in other threads of the same ilk started by other servers? It seems more like you dislike the fact that people chose to leave Underworld after our match up before Halloween and came to the server that if I do say so, had a jolly good time giving you lot the run around.

We are not responsible for the choices guilds and players make in game just like you’re not responsible if people choose to stay on underworld.

I think you’ll find that on Gandara we do have organised events and we have fun motivating people in map/team chat, which is why Underworld faired so badly last time. The guilds on Gandara do talk to each other and yes there may be the odd bad apple, the other folks on the server if they feel a player is being hard done by will tell the party in the wrong to keep it schtum

Right now we’re at a stalemate in the rankings, we hit Fort Ranik and go no further so we need a night service to combat their 24 hour rampage and the alliance they seem to have formed with the other opposing server this week in order to keep us down.

You’ve turned this into a somewhat malicious, he said, she said but as I say to all the bossy folks in /team chat in WvW who don’t seem to appreciate folks building, repairing and all that melarky. Leave people to play the game how they want to, they’ll soon come into the fold when they get trampled by the french zerg :P

We’re not INSISTING that people choose Gandara, we’re say “Hey we’re an option” if like [FMV] they choose to leave the server they’re currently on.

Not sure who that was but it would help if there was a name to go with the “accusation” and how did a Gandara “Rep” end up on your TS if he wasn’t invited?

Gandara never took guilds from underworld in fact we were all a little shocked to see an influx of new guilds and commanders after our match up. Commanders that barked orders and really didn’t get how we’d bonded as a community of hardcore WvWers and of course those who WvW on limited time.

Right now we have a real issue where during the day we can hold our own and during peak hours you can really see the others servers start to panic. Then at night all our hard work is undone through Night Capping which is truly a demoralising thing to witness indeed.

I return to Gandara Borderlands and the wail of Bessie from the supply camps is heart breaking, forced into French servitude and she doesn’t like it at all.

I’d very much welcome a night service to the server, on Friday night after reset we’re VERY active but due to jobs and other things that tapers off as the week goes on. Last week we pushed back from third to first but lost steam later in the week and this week faced with the same servers again, I think a number of players sat back and decided to PvE instead.

The night capping issue is a right thorn in practically every servers side but it’s not going away so those of us who want to move up the tables have to put the feelers out for those who can fill that void.

Bags annoy me something rotten, I wish they’d implement a system where your badges were automatically mailed to you after a 24hr period. How many times have you been caught in the middle of a zerg, killed 2 or 3 people but died during that period, then more people kill a couple more you tagged and loot bags you can’t get appear by your corpse?

It’s bloody annoying, or you’re running away and as you blink or dodge, the magical F to search appears and you know running back to press F will lead to certain death and a badge or two….

It’s definite cheating and hopefully they’ll be able to check whose placing siege or add that ability in order to slam down the ban hammer.

I think Anet is listening to its players more than most but the issues in WvW at the moment are very annoying, Night Capping especially and thieves double tapping players whilst in stealth.

I still love the game but I gotta say it needs to reward for upgrades and diminish returns for those in a continual 50+ zerg that never sit still. It’ll certainly help the smaller servers facing off against armies rofflestomping them.

Have to say when they hit you for 11k to 14k in one hit with backstab it makes the game VERY annoying. I had a very thankful long legger today whose life was saved when I noticed his health suddenly tick down as I was running behind him. A little interrupt push , moved the thief to a safe distance where I could deal with him but those things are so kitten annoying as they hop in and out of stealth! Only way to really track them is throw down poison and watch the numbers appear in mid air as his health slowly drains, gotta act fast or he vanishes completely again.

Or if an entire server does the jumping puzzle at midnight, then that server wins!

I dun wanna, I got this ‘orrible guild leader that keeps telling me to break down Trebs I can’t reach….

I don’t even know what I need but I know as I’ve leveled in WvWvW, my map completion is far from done, especially in PvE… patience is a virtue and sometimes we just gotta ask and say “Hey, can we try for this on reset?”

I know one of my guildies has gone to Jade Sea for a week to complete their map which shouldn’t have to happen for map completion but as we’re up against servers that have more numbers than us and suspiciously appear to be attacking our bigger targets at the same time, it’s just not possible.

FR deffo outnumbers Gandara a lot! I do think since the orbs were taken away that the fights have become a little more interesting when it comes to the scores.

And midweek we were hit both sides at Stonemist castle from JS and FR at the same time which made for an intense time, I certainly ran around not knowing what to do as the wall kept falling and there were no supplies.

I can’t imagine it’s rewarding for a night service to completely take a map with little to no opposition though even if it does result in a win at the end of the week.

We held our own against them last week but last night they seemed to be a bigger zerg than usual When the draw came up again, even the most hardcore of WvW players seemed a little demoralised by the prospect of facing JS and FR again.

But it is what it is, I think a lot of people are planning to spend this week in the PvE world so that we drop down.

But you still have the same issue of the folks with the bigger force will almost always have the orbs in their possession. Without the Orbs these forces are having to go on the offensive all the time because they can’t rely on buffs and other in game rewards for their win/prosperity.

Fort Ranik used to be leagues ahead of us and now they’re fighting for first place with which they’re only managing to achieve (just about) with night capping duties. Pretty sure they’ll take the lead as we’re now into a time when folks go to work but… fun times!

I’m having so much fun on Gandara this week, matches have never been this close. Fort Ranik used to get all the orbs due to their sheer numbers but now we’ve moved from third to first and keep swapping first and second with them.

Fort Ranik have the numbers to make us poop ourselves when they’re running towards us in their GIANT zerg but when they stop to fight we chip away at their numbers until they’re manageable. Keep the orbs out, it’s all about sustaining your ownership of the map now. Sacrificing one spot for a more important spot…. it’s so much fun!

I was going to go Power/Crit but I’m thinking Power/Vitality might be the way to go. Where on earth do I start looking for my set though.

Made my first expedition in to Orr and oh my word that place is a nightmare!

Okay, I mainly do WvWvW with very little PvE apart from planning to farm for coin…. What sort of gear should I be looking for to begin with and where do I go to get it.

I currently have 200k’s worth of Karma and very little gold

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Ranik have a HUGE presence when we should all be tucked up in bed, I can imagine from tonight they’ll start taking the lead as folks with jobs will be ensuring they get much needed rest so they can function.

It seems Ranik are like the Terminator they don’t need sleep, they just keep coming and coming, their numbers are huge but when Gandy manages to kettle them we can thin out their numbers and deal with them in a bloody and vengeful fashion.

Oh the long leggers of Tyria are banging their clubs against trees again and hoping gold falls from the branches.

Tis best not to entertain long legger complaints, their inferior intellect is a cause for concern and the Asura do not hide behind the long legger races, the Asura plan, wait and assess the number of long legger deaths that appear before them.

This gives us time to fight or run… long legger is an expendable asset but an Asura mind and skill on the battle field is not

I put my head in my hands when I saw who we were up against but we held our own, it was pretty even throughout last night despite the numbers we were up against.

It got to the point when all the EU players had to go to bed at 3/4am where small groups formed to make it more difficult for the zergs to stay in one place by shuffling round the maps and making sure EVIL BESSIE couldn’t make her deliveries to the enemy etc etc.

Night capping is great for those doing it but is it really rewarding at the end of the week to get a win by fighting a minimal force because the servers are tucked up in bed?

I think we’ll fight to the bitter end, last week we had halloween and most of us spent all our time trick or treating This week, we shall fight to the bitter end!

I really thought Gandara would nip in to second at the end, they were working bloody hard. But Jade Sea panicked and got together ready to fight back

I’m still sure that GW2 killed my GTX 460…. but I ain’t a techie so can’t prove it other than the fact playing Star Wars TOR and Final Fantasy XIV never did that despite playing for similar session times.

Awesome news, this week we’ve actually had players from other servers setting up trebs in front of doors and basically trolling from the teams that have outnumbered us anyway

Plus putting a time limit, it means that people can get used to the community they’ve transferred to!

I didn’t but then again I didn’t expect to since they’re supposed to be really rare… right?
