Unshakable looks broken

First it seem to be applying way more Defiant stacks than it should be. It is not uncommon to see a dungeon boss with 15+ stacks, where as it should be no more than 5. I suspect Unshakable counts environmental objects as well as trash mobs and/or adds instead of just players, but I might be wrong about it.

Second as I understand applying CC to a boss with defiant stack on, should still interrupt them, and it is often not the case. For instance the same Svanir Shaman in the screenshot has frost breath attack, which is NOT interruptable, even though you get “interrupted” message trying to CC him.

I don’t think this has anything to do with guesting. Simply more people show up for dragon events because rewards are now better.

Rata Sum is quite vertical, so you won’t see things without going up/down a level. Also check the portals to various labs. They got WPs and POIs there as well.

There is some reverse trolling here, the Dungeons are way over the top difficult for the average player. Those thanking the Devs for increased difficulty are trolling the average players.

There was no need to increase the difficulty of AC or any other Dungeon. If you want them difficult then add a hard mode, and for regular mode add a sixth member or reduce the difficulty by 40%.

The issue isn’t the difficulty. The issues that that those areas were on massive farm causing inflation.

Right now all paths, all dungeons are absurd, GW1 was nothing like this, and this game had so much potential.

I will be looking at ESO, leaving and not returning.
ANET does not have their act together. Yes you may have my money, but you won’t be getting my money from the BLTC.

Support roles are weak and underpowered.
There are no control roles.
DAMAGE Warriors is about the only viable build.

Anet, you lost your way.

Sounds like your absurdly broken 1-button zerker farm got nerfed and you /ragequit over it. Yeah bye, and don’t come back. Quite seriously we need more people like you to quit.

And for the record: GW1 dungeons were way harder than anything GW2 has to offer.

Tier 3 female Norn heavy armor.

1) The bottom part should really be a part of the body armor, otherwise it looks broken when used with different top
2) It is impossible to paint it consistently. The white border should use metallic color same as leg plates. Instead it is now in the same paint group as the clothy areas.
3) There is a visible breakage line where top and bottom connect

Also the body piece really should have a separate paint area for the scarf/fur part.

Ok guys, you fixed the exploits, thats great. I personally reported them months ago, so I am not going to cry about that.

The issue is that now Mossman became the most tedious and annoying fight ever (on par with Rabsovich minus loot).
First I am convinced that the attack he performs from stealth is a bug, but we’ve yet to hear confirmation of that or otherwise. Search used for dev responses on the issue

Second issue is that he goes in stealth way too often. He literally spends more time in stealth than visible. At this point you have a choice to either run circles around his house until he comes out of stealth (stretching an unnecessary long fight even more) or try to dodge roll into him with 50% chance of getting insta downed anyway.

Can we please get some polishing to this encounter. Or at least official stance on its current state would be nice.

I fail to see your point. Thiefs are already uncatchable. Weapon hotkey also makes perfect sense. You run slower with weapon drawn if you want to fight. You run faster with your weapon sheathed if you want to just run.

I think the thread got sidetracked… The switch room isn’t even the worst part of the dungeon. The hordes of little kitteners that are immune to blind and spam CC like crazy is. As a guardian I absolutely loathe this fractal. Truly mindnumbling experience of never ending stream of daze. And they made it worse by nerfing the kitten out of the Shield of Avenger in the previous patch.

The only really issue with harpies is the set right at the beginning of the fractal, where you have to climb spiral path up while they rain kitten down on you. Most of the time you have to pan your camera at pretty odd angles to see whats going on. By comparison the set of harpies right after Old Tom is totally manageable, even though there are more of them there.

Oh and while we at it… Dear ANet, please reduce health pools on prisoners (ettin and shaman mostly). They take just way too freakin long to kill (opinion based on 40+).

I just gave you the other high level strat people use in Fracs besides stacking and pulling the adds around the corner (yes you did give me your strat in the OP); which is insanely boring (which was your complaint). What you do with that info; well I could care less.

Please sort this out before it is too late. On one hand there is a whole bunch of duplicate sets with different jewel, on the other there is a number of essential sets missing.

Please add Knight, Cleric, Carrion and Rampager sets.
No need for the new artwork. Simply replace one of the duplicate Berserker, Rabid and MF sets. You can easily drop Cavalier and Divinity sets (anyone ever use that garbage?) to make space too.

Right now I am looking to upgrade my amulet to something from the Laurel vendor. The problem is that Anything I pick will be a downgrade on the stats I need, despite the tier upgrade.

Dear ANet, 99.99% of the time I really don’t care wherever or not I am in overflow or the home server. Please do not shove a modal dialog in my face every time I zone into LA. I also don’t need a dialog interrupting what I do to tell me the home server is ready.
First of all it is really disorienting since I move around with my RMB held down pretty much all the time and dialog window cancels it out.
Second, I really don’t need to waste time loading the home server. I am fine here, tyvm. I came here for shops and crafting. Don’t even waste server resources queuing me up. It is not needed and is really annoying.

Please make the game to not auto queue me for the home server. Please get rid of dialog notifications (especially modal ones). The current UX is pretty bad. A tiny panel/widget with buttons for queue/unqueue is a much user friendlier solution.

You kinda just repeated what I said, but tried to dress it as a good thing. I am sorry, but the facts are clear.
1) Ranger is a DPS class that isn’t even close to being good at DPS.
2) Ranger group support is a joke compared to guardian or ele. Admittedly entangling roots is a good skill, but it is just one skill.
What else is to say here? You other toons are not as good? I think you are not as good at them. My main was also a ranger, but I have enough critical thinking ability to realize that it was never as useful in end-game content.
Rangers are bad bro, really really bad. Rangers are jacks of no trades. No niche, no specialization. There is nothing you can pick and say “hey I do this better than other classes”. Not to mention their primary mechanic is poorly designed and will always drag even good players down to its kitten level.

I knew someone would bring up drakes, and I shake my head in resignation… You can keep telling yourself that you are doing a good job, but don’t cry when people don’t want you in their groups. Pets are terrible, and drakes are especially bad, sluggish and paper thin. To rely on drake blast finisher is like relying on a precursor drop. But hf carefully orchestrating something that other classes can just do naturally, if that is what tickles your fancy.

I am intrigued. Please share a guardian build that can survive multiple Ascalon warrior charge…. or flame burst. Or can tank hordes of dredge… or krait. Or one that can take legendary Archdiviner in melee for more then 5 seconds. I.e. a build that can just stand there and tank lvl40+ mobs as you seem to be implying.
I am pretty sure no such build exists, but feel free to prove me wrong. The reason guardians CAN do that is by practicing well timed dodge, as well as spamming movement CC and blind.
So your point is nil. Having more support tools, doesn’t mean the class is easier to play. Quite the opposite actually. Compare that to any RDPS class that just have to stand back and do 1,2,3,4,5 every couple of seconds.

Guardian is the ultimate party support class… what the confusion here about? Having one guardian is always good. Having two guardians begins to hurt DPS but can be somewhat better than one in some very specific encounters. Having 3 guardians is a waste of party slots. So I lol @ the guy who said he finally beat it with 3 guardians. You guys just need to get better at your own toons.

Regarding the Imbued Shaman: The elementals starting to hit a bit too hard at 40+. In addition to root the spam and the sheer number of them this can get ugly sometimes. Otherwise it is pretty easy boss. You only need shields/blinds to block off the boss while clearing elementals. Both mesmers and thiefs have tools to do that. There is no reason to have to use shields or even heal skills in the regular phase.
Most PUGs I’ve seen wipe out on this boss not because of lack of shields, but because they wasted them during regular phase while eating agony and trying to rez. The arrow are so easy to dodge, it hurts my brain when I see people getting hit.

The bottom line is this boss requires a certain level of personal skill from every team member. You can’t get carried through it. You have to be good yourself. Group composition is rather secondary.

Yes, and I am saying it is not. In one case it is a part of the story, which you go through regardless. In the other it is gear gate for more challenging content (not even more content, just more challenge to existing content) which you have to grind for.

Well, they wanted to make a crafting system that is fun and not 100% grind. That however caused everyone to go for it. (Some even do it just to level up their alts) Which in turn ensured that every craftable item was being sold crazy cheap at the BLTC. And that is what made 90% of the crafting useless.

It is easy to make a mistake balancing supply and demand. That is not the same as just straight up making crafting gear obsolete.

Rangers are very useful in dungeons.

Rangers are terrible in dungeons. Play any other class to 80 if you haven’t. They bring least of all classes to the team. Their damage is mediocre at best. Their support is a joke. And survivability is non-existent. You will waste all your time baby-sitting the pet for very marginal return, while other classes will do more and will less effort.

1) Healing Spring. Enough said. Solid healing, but unlike the Engi’s turret it’s invincible.

The only thing it is good for is blast finishers (which ranger doesn’t have). Other than that it pretty weak skill. My guardian does more healing with it from finisher that the actual skill, and I can spam it every 4 seconds.

2) Solid DPS.

more like OK DPS. More specifically OK single target DPS that needs to be built up with conditions. Even with piercing arrows it doesn’t come close to guardian/warrior simply cleaving through 5 mobs with zero effort. In a typical trash mob encounter my support specced guardian does more DPS than my DPS specced ranger… which is probably about half the damage a warrior or a thief can do.

3) Pets. Useful in support or to distract a boss. If he just soaks up a few hits that your Warrior or Guardian doesn’t have to take, he’s done his job. Also each pet has various special abilities that can be used in support or in attack.

Thats a definition of a disposable pet. Necro pets are disposable. Ranger pets take a full minute to reset.

4) Range! Very important in PVE

eh what? I hope you joking. In fact to do a respectable DPS you have to be up close to have all of your projectiles from poison volley or splitblade to hit.

Whats wrong with ranger ? One of the Opést classes in-game ! Pet range = 3000-5000 ? Arrow range 1400-1600 ? More damage than most of classes , cant see whats wrong with it !?

Ranger is pretty bad bro. No spike damage worth mentioning, mediocre DPS, poor survivablity, poor support, being forced to babysit pet for very marginal return, reliance on conditions what need to be built up, poor AoE abilities. Ranger is probably the least useful class for an end-game party. I mean no offence, but even asking this kinda discredits everything you have to say after that.

Is this even right ? Only 1 class can solo this boss ? 1 class = guardian , 100% no other class can !
Guardian is the only class that is a must in all dungeons ! Why Devs ?

I just googled “solo lupicus” and pretty much every video that came up was for warrior doing it. Kinda supports my point above that you are talking out of your kitten

To be clear what I am talking about is now quite a few gear pieces are poorly mapped to dye areas. Lost of instances where a dye area spanning visibly different materials like plate and cloth, chainmail and leather, etc. making it very hard to create a good sensible dye combo.

See a typical example of that. See the breastplate chunk right below the belly button. It is painted white with the clothy areas. I mean ideally it shouldn’t even be there. It should be a part of the chest piece of armor, but that is unlikely to be fixed.

There is a number of other similar instances that I came across as I was building up armor combos but which I didn’t bother to screenshot. I think a cleanup pass is in order here.

I guess you never did that WiK content in GW1 then, or didn’t alt at all.

That was added years later. At that point for anyone could get solo infused in 20 minutes of time due to insane power creep that occurred since release of Prophecies.

Indeed, if they keep adding “just one more tier of stuff” it will become a treadmill. However, with the ascended stuff, I heard it was something they wanted to have at launch but ran out of time. (As you can see, they’ve been adding quite a bit content after the launch, large part of which one could say “that was supposed to be there”)
This doesn’t bother me at all, seen as I was one of those people writing in the forums something along the lines “I’d rather play an unfinished product, and see it be polished along the way, than wait forever until there are no shortcomings or bugs.”

While gear technically is content, I really don’t think that is what that quote meant. Also I have trouble accepting they actually intended to make 90% of crafting useless.

Well, while I would’ve hardly used the word irony here, I am well aware of my signature. Although I was merely stating the probability. Your chosen display name lumped with the suggestion here, anyone could have made the mistake.
Anyways, you’re mixing treadmill and a stairway. All you need to do is get few pieces of jewelry, and that is it. I would hardly call that a treadmill.
In just about every MMO, there is gear, and then there is somewhat better gear. The idea for infusion is from GW1 anyways, whats so wrong with that?

In GW1 infusion was simply a part of the storyline. You didn’t get it because you had to get it to progress through. You got it because that is where the story led you to. It did not make any difference on your ability to do end-game content.
GW2 agony is completely different. The game is effectively saying “you can’t do this thing until you have this piece of gear”. That is a major step back from original GW model. More so, agony (and resistance) scaling is pointless. Fractals already become significantly harder with higher levels completely irrespective of agony. And the incentive of getting ascended gear (which is better than exotic regardless of infusion slot) as well as fractal skins is plenty to have most people doing it.
You are correct in a sense that GW2 hasn’t become gear treadmill yet, but fotm/agony design implies that direction. And if tomorrow they add another instance that requires some other special stat that has no value outside of that instance – that is exactly whet treadmill looks like.

Well, seeing your username, you’re unlikely to be serious about this, but I’ll just point few things out anyways:
Agony and agony resistance is one of the few things that remind me of GW1 in GW2. Sure, they altered the system a bit, but I’d say it is actually better now.
Agony and Agony resistance are a good way to keep you (or at least me) entertained with multiple repeating levels, seen as its easy to tell how much “better” the gear I am wearing now is compared to when I started. (In short: I like the system.)

I’ll let you connect the irony of your remark to your signature by yourself.
Meanwhile there are plenty of games out there already that offer [near] infinite gear treadmill. You are more than welcome to choose any of them to keep you entertained. GW on contrary has always been about cosmetic upgrades (skins) and not the gear power creep. I would like it to remain true to that formula.

Totaly agree with you ! All dungeons so hard w/o a guardian , even a bad one or 2 guardians even better ! So if devs read the lfg website and make ideea of how they made this game work they have only 2 things to do :

1. Nerf down guardian at a line of use in dungeons as all classes got ( compare to guardian high need in hard dungeons rest classes got medium use )
2. Pump up all classes use to the level of guardian in dungeons !

Other than rangers all classes are pretty good at end game. You just have to learn to play them.

Many groups want two guardians because the reflect fields make some bosses much easier. That said, the same many groups are pretty bad in general, and playing guardian myself I am very unlikely to join someone like the last underlined entry.

Also try to understand the fundamental mentality difference between the majority of Thief/Warrior and Guardian players. Up until the fotm game has been very forgiving for the first two. So they never learned anything beyond loldps-ing. Guardians generally accept their role as a support class much earlier, which makes general population of guardians to be much better suited for high-end content.

This topic has been brought up many times in the past but so far no answer from the devs. I guess they like the current system which makes u farm for months untill you get the desired skin… or not.

Whats worse, you can be a total scrub who just got to lvl20 and get the skin right away.
So it is both hard to get and devalued at the same time.

Dear ANet, I am sure this has been stressed enough, but allow me to reiterate.
We don’t need gear gates. The increasing difficulty on the fotm levels is enough to tell who deserves high end rewards and who doesn’t.

I get that you didn’t intend Jade Maw agony to be bypassed with clever rez tricks, but we kinda hoped you would fix the absurdity of the global agony mechanic instead of simply locking up 50+.

Easy steps that I think can be taken to fix this:
- Remove agony scaling with fractal level and gear
- Remove agony resistance (getting hit by agony should be putting people into downed state regardless of level)
- Fix the Jade Maw event to do something challenging (like swarm people with jellies that appear in the beginning) instead of applying global agony.

Why not remove Agony ?

Instead of removing agony, please make it not scale and remove agony resistance. Getting hit by agony should be sending people into downed state (or close to it) regardless of gear or fractal level. Needless to say, the stupid Jade Maw event needs to be redesigned to actually be challenging instead of being a gear gate.

This is especially needed for cooking UI. Constantly looking up chained recipes is seriously annoying.
Simply add a right click option “Craft more” to where it says “Buy more at the trading post” to navigate directly to the required recipe (provided it was already unlocked).

I had exactly the same feeling when I first started doing fractals. After doing it several time I don’t find it as bad anymore. It fun reflecting all those bombs into his face and see those pretty numbers pop up, or laugh at them when they stun themselves trying to heal.
What I hate about that fractal is everything before the boss. All dredges have protection + regen + might buffs just made everything extremely tedious.

Does it still reflect though? I know the animation pretty well, and despite casting feedback on the mining suit, no numbers pop up anymore.

Bombs do reflect and deal damage.

I agree with above person who said the trash mobs are much worse than the boss. They spam daze and AoE like there is no tomorrow and cannot be blinded. Fighting these little kittens in melee is incredibly annoying.
