“They can’t see me. I can’t see them.”
Michael J. Caboose ~ RvB
Ok thanks guys.
I want to make a male human that looks like one of my Guild Wars One characters, and while I know that I can’t get an exact match, I want it to be as close as possible. I having problems with this, so I hoping that someone can help me. I have posted two pictures of the GW1 character below.
Will level 80 still be the cap or there will be more levels after level 80 also if there are will be able to use the experience we gained until now after we reached level 80 to get to the new level cap?
They told us at PAX South that the cap is NOT changing.
I have a few questions in this topic I made: https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/hot/A-few-questions/first#post4729433
OK. First of all, will the Mastery System work any where outside of the HoT areas? I can see a lot of problems with this. Thanks to the hang gliders, some jumping puzzles will be easier than they are now, and we will be able to get to places that we normally can’t. While I don’t have a problem with this, I know that some people will. It would add some fun to WvW and sPvP though.
Next, the Specializations remind me of the subclass system in Destiny. With this said, will there be more than one Specialization per profession, and if so can we freely change from one to the other? What about changing from a Druid back to a regular Ranger? Will the Revenant have Specializations?
Lastly, will HoT be Factions and Nightfall in which we made a character that start in one of those campaigns, or is going to be more like Eye of the North in which we had to move into it from one of the other campaigns? How is making a Revenant going to work in either case?
As the title says, what about custom arenas? Will the new changes to PvP remove them or will they form the hot-join thing? Besides this concern, I like the changes you guys at Anet announced so far. Keep at the good work!
As the others said, ele would be a good choice. I like a s/d build because it a good all round weapon set. You got range, damage, control, and support.
I just did the math, and it ends that there are 36 maps. 3/36=about 8%. 80*8%=about 6. 28/80=35%. 28 is greater than 6*4. Do you still think that map completion gives too little EXP?

Great guide, DreamyAbaddon! I learned a lot from it. I got three questions for you, though. Are you planning on updating it? Are you planning on making a guide on combos? Isn’t there really 4 steps in making your build, choosing your profession being the first?
Hello Uden!
I have thought about updating the guide by including Combo Fields & Finishers but then realized that the Combat System 101 guide is suppose to cover all the basics which already has a lot of information. I really didn’t want to overwhelm my target audience with that much information so I decided to leave the Combo Fields and Finishers out. Because I wanted new players to be aware of Combos, I decided to mention this guide doesn’t have lessons on Combos and finishers in hopes they would continue their research on wiki to learn more.Choosing a Profession is not considered the first step in making a build because a build has nothing to do with your profession. Every class has Damage/Control/Support skills to manage. Every class has their own unique ways of managing these types of skills.
Your playstyle is based on your skill choices and how you deal with them.A build consists of 3 elements: Skills/Traits/Stats
Think of this as a trading card game.
- A build is your deck – Which includes Skills/Traits/Stats.
- Skills are the cards you play with. This is your Playstyle
- Traits change how you play with your cards. Enhances your playstyle.
- Stats give you the balance you need to play with your cards. Which supplement your playstyle.
So when it comes down to choosing a class, you’re choosing it based on your playstyle preferences. The way a Warrior handles Damage/Control/Support skills will be different than how a Mesmer deals with those types of skills. This is why choosing a class is not part of the steps when making a build. Remember there are no Roles in GW2. Just the classes. Your builds, skills, and strategy will determine how good you are as a player.
I hope this helped answer your questions! ^-^
Yes this answered my questions. Thanks!

What laokoko said is right. Completing three maps and saying “Map completion gives too little EXP,” is like taking three small bites out of any piece of food and saying, “I’m still hungry.”
Sorry that I didn’t respond in a while. College takes more work than I thought it will. Lol. Anyways I thank you all for the criticism and suggestions. I’m taking it all into account as I make the next chapter.
Remember that what’s good for one person is not good for an other. I find War to be hard to play as if I’m not using ranged weapons. Likewise, I like using swords on the Ranger. I’m odd that way. If it is known for using range weapons, I fight in melee and vise versa.
First of all, you need to complete multiple maps to get a high lvl. 2nd of all, the best way to do it is complete starting map only stopping long enough for lvl 10 PS. Next do starting town. Now do LA, then one by one do the other towns and their starting areas. After that, do the lvl 15-25 areas one by one. Remember to do the PS when it comes up. Continue to do this for all maps. I have done all the towns and starting areas and only one lvl 15-25 and I’m in the 40’s. 12 maps plus bits of other ones and PS missions and I’m am in the 40’s. I think that’s good enough. Don’t you?

Thanks Calliope for the criticism. I made the suggested changes. I replaced the “got” in the sentence “The three of us got…” with a “have.” The Ghostbore Musket is from the Iron Legion personal story, but yes, its importance will be explained in the next chapter. Torga is female, but she is missing a tooth and her eyes are different colors. I did add a little to that part, though. I added the missing t in Rytlock’s name. Now for the “Any more questions?” part. Something like this happened in the Ash Legion personal story, and I thought it would go well. Anything else you guys want to point out?
Ok. So here’s the first part of my first story. Please criticize me and make suggestions at will, and tell me what you think.
Tribunes Rytlock Brimstone, Torga Desertgrave, and Bhuer Goreblade were having a meeting in Rylock’s office.
“Are you sure she is the one for this job?” Torga asked.
Rytlock chuckled. “You haven’t seen her in action like I have, Torga. There’s no one else that fights like her.” The Blood tribune paused for a second. “Well, maybe no one other than me.”
“Will she accept the mission, though?” Torga questioned Bhuer.
“Of course she will,” Goreblade said.
Just then, a charr female entered the room.
Bhuer smiled. “Ah, Ember Fireeyes. It’s good that you’re here. The three of us have a very important mission for you.”
Ember nodded. “I see that all three Legions have a part in this. Reminds me of my Ghostbore Musket. What are my orders, sirs?”
“Yes, I remember your gun and that you chose Blood’s cannon over Ash’s turrets,” Torga snarled, flashing one of her fangs in annoyance. “We need you to attack and capture a Flame Legion base.”
Ember grinned. “Sounds fun! What do I need to know?”
“It’s a solo mission for one thing,” Rytlock replied. “Your target is Incendio Templum. Any more questions?”
“Just one. When do I start?”

While there are many good uses for teleports, this video shows my favorite at 3:10-3:50.

I like this idea, but I think you can expand on it a little. Why give all the glory to crabs when you can add this idea to a few other species? For example, if you fight Oakharts, there’s a chance that a powerful forest spirit will attack you. Just an idea.
Guh, all this talk of stories makes me want to post parts of mine up somewhere…
Why don’t you just post them here? That’s what I am going to do when my are done.
I like what I’m seeing so far. Calliope, your story is amazing. I love it. ST Babaganosh, while I like your story, I feel as if you can into a little more depth with it. Also, I agree AkioFallstar. While I understand why your engineer kills moas, I don’t get the snow cherry trees. I’m still working on my story. Hopefully it will be done soon. I’m looking forward to seeing more!
I know that some players have made (or, in my case, are making) back stories for their characters. Well I like to hear them if you guys don’t mind sharing. Have fun posting your stories, and I’ll post my own when it’s finished.
Ok, so for Elementalist I like Dragon’s Tooth and Phoenix. What’s not to love about them.
For Guardian, I like Smite plus Virtue of Justice with Supreme Justice trait plus Orb of Wrath. All this equals perma-burn!
For Necromancer, I love the utility of Locust Swarm. PBAoE damage, cripple, and Life Force gain plus a speed boost… Ya. So many uses all pact into one skill.
Is there a website that I can find a list of good builds? I know there was one for GW1 and few for GW2, but the GW2 ones that I knew of are out dated. Are there any that are up to date? Thanks.
If the Zerg attack Tyria, we all know who to blame. Great job. Looks just like her.
Chicken-ado. That name alone gives me the creeps. I do like the "Why? We here at the Black Lion Company don’t ask “why.” Why not? " part. It reminds of a Cave Johnson quote, “Science is not about ‘Why?’ It’s about ‘Why not?’” A Portal 2 reference maybe?
If you’re not done yet, count me in.
Now I have never played TERA or any other game with discs, but it seems like a good idea and we could use more weapons. I do like to point out that gaurdians also use spellcaster weapons like staves, but you did not add them to your list of professions that should get this new weapon. Is there a reason for this?
Ok. Thank you for your help.
I have not done to much LS lately because I’m low leveled, but I know what happened to LA and I want to explore it. Is that a good idea, or is there still enemies there that will one hit me?
How funny! I had the same idea, but as a guild and not just an ensemble, or were you thinking of a guild, too? Anyways, as you have beaten me to it, I’ll support you, but I must enform you that North American worlds can not guest in Europen worlds and vise versa. With this said, I’m in a North American world, Dragonbrand to be exact.
The GW2 Wiki page for currency says “Tokens and other currencies, except for glory, can be indirectly converted to coin by using them to purchase items that can then be crafted, forged, or otherwise used to produce items that can be sold to vendors and/or on the trading post.”
What are the best way to do any of these conversions? Thanks for your help.
Ok. Thank you very much!
First of all, is this where I go to ask questions about the forums?
2nd of all, in the Guild Recruitment Forum, let’s say that I’m recruiting for two or more guilds (which I’m not right now, but I might later on). Can I recruit for all of these guilds in the same post, or do I need a post for each guild?
Thanks for your help.
We need more of these!
Something tells me that this time we will be fighting the Bloody Prince this time. Anyways, it was fun and I hope it does come back this year.
The Krait in this update look different. They are icky and green. But according to the wiki, Krait have always had the ability to shapeshift. “When they come close to death they enter a frenzy which shape-shifts them to another form.” We never actually see this happen in-game.
They do in GW1.
Everyone loves Mad King Thorn’s jokes. What’s some of your favorites? Here’s some of mine and a link to the one’s used in GW1.
http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Halloween/Finale#Dialogue
“Why can’t you borrow money from a Dwarf?”
“Because they’re always a little short. HA HA HA HA HA! Get it? DWARVES are SHORT!
“How are a Paragon and a drunkard alike?”
“Both like to shout at strangers and run around without any pants.”
You guys all got a point. I just thought princes sometimes inherit their fathers’ title of “king,” and that not only will the Bloody Prince inherit that, but the “Mad” part as well. Just my thought process.
Why call the Bloody Prince the Bloody Prince and not the Mad Prince? Anyone got any thoughts about this?
Easy, medium, and hard modes will be nice, but make the names to theme. For example, you can call hard mode Nightmare Mode, or Total Madness Mode, or you get the idea!
Ok, now I know what to do. Thanks!
of the SAB hub?
Ok, so I know that asura tend to have rivals. So I was thinking “Why not give Moto rivals that try to make their own SABs?” These rivals can be members of one of the other colleges. One asura can represent Nintendo, an other the PS, and the last Xbox. Just an idea I wanted to through around. Tell me what you guys think.
What’s with the freaky women? There are at least two in GW2; Scarlet and Faolain: and I know at least three other games with freaky women. Is it a new thing or something?
I’m manly looking for the scholars, but I don’t mind the others. Thanks for your help.
I’ve seen some ghosts that look like they are not ghosts. Please note that I said some, not all. I have seen them almost everywhere in Ascalon.
I think instead of a full on profession change, it will be more likely that they will reintroduce an old GW1 mechanic, secondary professions. As they were changeable, that will open things up a little, though I don’t know how well it will work with the game’s current mechanics.
What are the pros and cons? How and where are they best used? Thank you. (By three main hand weapons, I mean staff, dagger, and scepter)
Thanks guys. Now what about the stripes above the eyes? I don’t I have seen those in the character creation.
P.S. Yes, I know that that is a female charr. In fact, I can tell female and male charr apart better than I can with humans, and I am a human. Sad, I know.

I like these ideas, though I think your idea for Hunter’s Call will make more since if it was an AoE. I mean, if “the birds disorient the target,” and if there is a group of enemies, disorienting just one of them wouldn’t be enough. Just a thought. Other than that, good job on making these ideas.
