Question… if you’re a Weaver, do you get bracelets of both elements you’re in? Like fire on one wrist and earth on the other?
Thank you, it cannot be said enough!
— That these Elonian faces/hair aren’t locked behind a paywall but available in the character creator was the right decision
— We got unique, real faces based on people of color. (They look amazing in game. The old faces seem lackluster in comparison.)
— You didn’t just give us one face with slightly different makeup or age lines. I appreciate the variety.
— More beards. People have been requesting that for so long.
— A realistic looking afro! (I enjoy the subtle way the second hair color modifies it – kudos to those who designed it)
— Some interesting and unusual human hair that will fit with Elona. Human hair sometimes seems a little tame. I’m all for these new looks.
…I hope we get something similar in the future if Cantha opens up. I’d like to see some Kurzick hairstyles too. This gives me hope <3
I don’t care why. I don’t like that they doubled the cost.
What is next, will these weapons increase to 4, 6 and then 10 tickets as time goes on?!
Having spent a long time scrimping to save up two whole tickets, my desire to spend them is less. I don’t get the desire for nearly unattainable exclusivity. Why have all of these beautiful weapons, that people had to spend time designing, but players can barely enjoy them? That’s no fun.

For anyone who plays a Charr or an Asura berserker: do you have some good images of what your character looks like with the berserk skill active? I would love to see your characters!
My human warrior recently became a berserker and I really like how it looks when they get all firey on the inside. Started to wonder if it would look extra cool on a Charr or maybe an Asura. I can’t seem to find anything that focuses just on displaying that specific visual animation on those races. So… if anyone plays those, please show off how amazing your character looks when they go berserk. I am curious.
Anyone know when this event ends?
Arctic explorer! Baby it’s cold outside…
For dyes, my guesses would be: Swampblack (rare/exclusive), Midnight Yew or Pine (uncommon), Deep Pine or Dark Olive (common). Dark olive is very cheap. Shadow Yellow is the darkest black-green, if you’re looking for a black.
Race: Charr
Sex: Male
Class: Necro
One of the exclusive hairstyles for Charr has a movement problem: the hairline is not secured/locked to the forehead. As a result, as the character moves, such as in idle, the hairline does not move congruent with the head, making it look like a loose-fitting wig that slides around.
This is especially noticeable if the Charr has a fur pattern on their face. You can see hidden areas appear and disappear.
Other hairstyles seem to have a secure hairline (at least in preview). This hairstyle is for females too but I did not check if it has the same problem.
Love the Pirate Corsair Hat Skin, Pirate Hook Skin and Peg-Leg Boots Skin.
So how about a pirate shoulder skin: a single parrot (dyable?!) that perches on one shoulder?
Nothing on the other shoulder. Just a parrot. On your shoulder.
…Bonus if it moves it’s head and acts lifelike. No one wants a fake or dead stuffed parrot glued to their shoulder.
I’ve been waiting for the items to be offered separately since the day the bundle came out. IT WAS A LONG, LONG WAIT. A painful wait.
I’m not sure the frustration of being denied something I wanted badly was worth saving some gems. As time passed I came to regret being so stubborn.
I loath the bundles. Hate hate hate.
Bandit Sniper’s – Score! /weeps tears of joy, hugs TokyoGhost while jumping up and down
I had no idea this was even a thing until I saw someone with red glowing eyes near the bank and wondered why the glowing crimson mask had changed.
Followed the dulfy stuff and now I`m waiting for the wyvern to spawn and hoping it`s not like in the others — most of the creatures spawned in a different map location from the guide.
I want an effect glider that transforms the character into a black roiling cloud, similar to the human skill Reaper of Grenth/Necro and Reaper shrouds. The body turns black and a large swirling/smokey effect trails around and behind you as you fly. (Wing-like shapes are optional, it would look better without them.) And have an eerie sound effect.
It would be super great if there was an accent color that you could dye: eg in human’s Reaper of Grenth, there is a blue accent — let players dye the accent.
Consider a separate white version of the black, that turns the characters ghostly (like from Strawberry Ghosts) with Elementalist’s Mist Form around it. I would buy both of those. All these effects already exist, BAM, easy!
Halloween is coming up…

We already have a toggle helm. We just need a toggle for the outfit’s head gear.
Outfit headgear: toggle on = Outfit’s head gear appears (regardless of Helm toggle)
- Helm: toggle on = Outfit’s head gear appears
- Helm: toggle off = Outfit’s head gear appears
Outfit head gear: toggle off = Outfit headgear gone: Helm toggle now decides appearance
- Helm: toggle on = armor helm appears with outfit
- Helm: toggle off = no helm (or head gear) with outfit
I would love a “Name Swap” item.
A trend going back to GW1 is having a “nickname” you use on many characters. Sweetname I, Sweetname Il, Sweety Sweetname, etc. In a game with multiple characters, but only one player, having a common nickname between characters can help friends tell who you are.
I have multiple characters (two per class, in different races), and I’ve found that I enjoy voices/animations on some race/class combinations more than others. I would LOVE to be able to transfer my “nickname” to those race/class characters I prefer.
At the moment, to swap NAME B to NAME A, I would have to 1) buy additional character slot, 2) buy name change from NAME A to NAME C, and 3) buy name change from NAME B to NAME A. That’s assuming I don’t want to swap NAME C and NAME B again (which would require another purchase). That’s pricey!
If I could purchase a single “Name Swap” item for a direct NAME A to NAME B swap, I certainly would.
I’ve wanted something like that a number of times.
I’m getting tired and impatient for this to happen. Am I the only one still waiting around? Or has everyone given in/given up?
My reason for not buying the package to get the bandit sniper outfit is to avoid submitting a ticket at a later date to get my 1300 gems back. I’m more than happy to spend 2000 gems — just not for the stuff included in that package.
Yes. Exactly. This feature would be so useful. Especially when you have most of the dyes — it’s a huge amount to go through. And you can only save 8 favorites. The way they are now is so cumbersome.
Why not have a lock/unlock symbol beside the outfit. Lock: those colors are locked for that outfit on that character. Unlock: dyes are now global (or as they are now).
…And I wish they would stop releasing new outfits in the gem store but NOT having them ready in the hero preview. Why does this keep happening?
Key Ring: An account bound tab (like the wallet) that holds all my “keys” (IE: Bandit Keys, Calk Acid, Crowbars, Etc).
Key ring is a great idea. And Dwarven Keys should be account bound, not soulbound.
It looks like the character is drowning. Like someone is trying to kill them by trapping them inside a water bubble. I think they missed the point, but I’m sure it will still sell anyway.
- Love the bubble idea, especially in your character stands upright like Glinda, or sites in a crossed-legged meditation/guru fashion. Bubble should pop! on landing, and have nice effects catching the light like bubbles do
- Balloon idea is good: one giant one tied to one hand, balloon color dye-able. When you land, you release balloon and it floats up into the air and away. (It’s a balloon. You’ve got a bunch more in a bag in your pocket)
- Superman cape, that is also a back item cape. Dye-able. Maybe change animation so both arms are out in front of character, instead of to sides, when gliding
- Wings or glider based on the Zenith weapon skins appearance. I love the look of those. Would be nice if this was somehow available based on account achievements like the weapons are, but not necessary
- Bone wings. Wings, made only from bones. Bone color bones. They make clacking, tinkling noises like bones rattling together as they move. Maybe in the air a few small bones fall off and away
Bandit sniper outfit by itself please.
I’d like a package with the three gathering flutes together at a reduced price.
Why is it whenever I decide to do personal stories, the one I need to do is bugged? Oh well, at least now I know to go do something else and stop beating my head against a wall, literally.
1. Headgear similar to the female Hexed outfit: available as a skin for all armor classes. I WANT THAT HEADGEAR.
Thank god I’m not the only one. It’s a nasty fart noise. Please stop it.

I just got the outfit a few minutes ago. So it looks like they are still sending them out. It was right on the hour (though that could be a coincidence). Anyways, if you’re one of those who’s been waiting for it, they ARE still sending them via mail.
I’d like to see a count-down timer, with a fairly long count-down. Preferably, more than 24 hours. Can’t say how many times I used one, then the next day when I log in I regret it. I’d like to see a week long, RL count down. I can easily spend hours in character creation mode, but there’s lots of things that you can’t see using a makeover kit:
- asura ear animations
- preview armor or outfits that you don’t own
- preview dyes you don’t own
- cut screen animations: how the face moves
- how different ambient lighting affects colors
- hair movement when walking, running, jumping
- preview with weapons you don’t own
- how you look in relation to other players
- there’s probably more….
With a countdown timer, you can re-use/go back and make changes as much as you like — for the limited time of the duration of the countdown. Once the timer is up, the current look is permanent, so you want to be sure to give the player enough time to make the changes in advance and not have it cut out in the middle of using it — or if someone is in the middle of actively using it, they have until they hit “make changes” for it to become permanent.
I have 15 character slots and counting. I spend most of my gems on makeover kits, but I never use multiple kits one after the other — I just grit my teeth and bare it when I don’t like the results and use them very, very sparingly. I’d use the kits more frequently this way. One thing I hate about the kits is, when I’m making a brand new character, I re-make them over and over again until I get them right. With a makeover kit, I only get one chance to get it right. I hate this.
…
I also wish that all the current special faces, hairstyles and hair colors would be added to the regular character creation when the expansion comes out. Of course, there would be new exclusive faces, hair, colors, ears, horns, etc added, making the kits still desirable. But, I’m probably dreaming.
I still haven’t received this item… I don’t want to put a ticket in yet because I can just imagine a bazillion tickets for the same thing. Is there some point in which everyone should have gotten the outfit? Are they still currently sending them out?
It looks good (except for the oddly placed crotch tassel) though I prefer light armor, but free is free and you never know when it will be just right for another character.
Atop Phoenix Roost — a symbol of hope for Lion’s Arch — there is a pair of diving goggles and a plank. I’ve tried diving from there and every time I die from it. Often I land on the building itself, sometimes I make it as far as the ground. So far, I’ve never landed in the water.
Basically, you’ve created a tower for people to kill themselves at. The symbol of light and hope = Suicide. I just… I can’t even… no.
Did anyone test this? Why would you do this? I don’t care if there’s some trick to it: inside a completely re-designed, safe city, this particular jump shouldn’t be a death trap. Why would you make something like this. Why. Dragons and Scarlet killing the people of Lion’s Arch apparently wasn’t enough — now the city planners themselves are trying to kill off the citizens.
For the love of humanity, can you please fix this so that regular people jumping in a regular way can experience a fun time and not splatter themselves all over the symbol of life and hope.

My elementalist just hit 80 – now I’m saving up for cultural T3.
/opens wallet and a sad looking fly lazily drifts out
That’s purchased in the gem store so I wasn’t expecting that exact item. But I did think it would be something permanent because of the cost.
The purchase from the Consortium Florist in Deverol Gardens (Lion’s Arch) is a complete rip-off. I paid 50 silver for a temporary flower bouquet that allows you to sprinkle petals in the air. There is no permanent item.
Created this thread only because I tried searching first to find out what the purchase was and wasn’t able to find anything. If I’d known I definitely wouldn’t have wasted my coin.
Started having this bug today. Used a total makeover kit and went to the hero panel to redye the armor to fit the new look, and found the dye preview all messed up. In game looks fine.
Noticed today — when making a new character, the preview of the largest scale size is causing the character to appear larger than it used to: the heads get cut off screen. I’m sure I used to be able to chose the largest size and still see the character’s face.
This happens through all races, classes and genders (on Asura it’s an improvement – the head is not cut off, but the preview does look bigger than I remember.) Sometimes the heights look fine until you start moving the sliders.
I agree, so many times. Nobel outfit but can’t wear either of the two top hats (there are many other examples)? My Sylvari necro wears Demon Mask as part of their face. Glasses, scars, eye patches, tattoos, etc all beg for it.
Here’s an idea: Disassociate head gear from outfits — NO outfits contain headgear. When you buy an outfit, you get two things: An outfit that doesn’t have headgear, and a head gear skin like any other armor skin. Or add the headgear skin to achievements and make it infinitely apply-able, then make an achievement where you collect the hats you get with outfit purchases. Or just add a button to the headgear option that turns off the outfit headgear but shows the armor headgear. So many options…
Sometimes I’m interested in a topic of discussion, but all I want is to see what the devs say on that subject. I can see which topics have a dev response, but once I go to that discussion there is no indication of what page/s contains the dev’s response/s.
Some discussions (usually the important ones) are 50-60 pages or even more. And I’m not really interested in wading through all the random comments and bickering. In order to find out what the devs have said, I manually have to click each page and scroll through, keeping an eye out for the red splash.
What would be great is if in some way, pages that contain a dev response could be indicated some way: the gray page number square outlined in red, or the page number in the gray square written in red, or some other visual cue that lets the person browsing know that On This Page Here a Dev Has Commented.
If there’s an easy way to do this I apologize for wasting your time. But this is something I’ve wanted and have found lacking for a really, really long time and it seems like such a simple fix.
Belinda’s Greatsword. I can’t afford twilight.
I think it would be cool if they made a new greatsword with looks like Stygian Blade and Malefacterym. Maybe with multiple eyes that blink at different times. That would be my ideal. /dreams
Another day when I log in and can’t achieve the dailies.
There is too much being lumped in with the broad category of PVE. There should be at least two PVE categories and/or a PVX category.
PVE 1/Advanced: Dungeons, Fractals, Jumping Puzzles > highly specialized
Requiring some or all of the following: skill and patience, high level characters, special equipment, and decent computers in the real world
PVE 2/Normal: Leveling, exploring, events, gathering, vistas, etc or any PVE not included in above, that can be done at any level > NORMAL STUFF
PVX: Things you can do in any category across PVE, PVP and WVW: Reviving, salvaging, kills, dodging, etc
I feel like Anet thinks this is like Green Eggs and Ham. If only I try them, I will like them. Nope, sorry. I do not like them. Not in this game or in the next.
…Ironically, what I DID like doing in the game was DAILIES.
The starting clothing, at the very least, could be converted into an outfit like the Cook’s, where the appearance changes based on the race equipping it. There’s no reason why it couldn’t be — that clothing already was meant to be dyed. It also could be a way of educating new players about the differences between armor and outfits, if given to every new character just as it always has been.
My problem with the new dailies is the lack of PVE choices. I had no problem in the past doing 5-8 daily PVE categories. But now with only four PVE choices I’m often finding it hard to get 3. One day, two of the PVE options required the character to be level 80 and do content I haven’t gotten to yet. Before, it was easy to go about my business doing what I wanted, and take dailies into account along the way.
I want more PVE options. That’s my only complaint about this system.
It looks great. I just wish that we could hide the shoulders (same problem with the male shadow assassin outfit).
Two issues with Male Asura hair & face:
1. The male Asura’s long hair dreads and scarf hairstyle clips inside the eyeball of this particular face, in the upper left hand side of the left eye. It’s been there since the introduction of that hairstyle. Appears in game, in previews, and in character creation.
2. Unable to preview 2 Male Asura hairstyles:
a. Cornrows are completely bugged
b. Top Knot does not show the hair at the top of the knot.
…This is especially annoying for the cornrows. It’s really hard to judge if I should use kits to change the hair. These two hair bugs have been around for a few months. Only appears in preview screens and character creation.

I’m on Tarnished Coast. I always chose roleplay servers (official or unofficial) for every MMO I’ve played. I like seeing roleplay in cities and out in the world, and I want the option to attend events. I enjoy artists, musicians and writers shareing work related to the game and their characters. The community tends to be friendly, helpful, respectful and inclusive, and you’ll see well-developed characters wearing creative armor sets who have names based on lore. I wouldn’t go anywhere else.
Guild up? Really, that’s it? It’s that or nothing? My work hours dictate that I play casually. My time-zone is the worst for playing in North America. I’m also an altoholic, so I level lots of low level characters. RP guilds have a specific focus and ask that guild members meet the guild’s needs. I don’t want to waste their time when I know I can’t meet them. It’s as far-fetched as removing the ability to come across any PVP and telling someone like me to join a hardcore PVP guild to find it. What guild leader is going to welcome a tidal wave of casual players applying to their highly specalized, close-knit team?
And joining a guild doesn’t even seem to be working to keep people together — so what chance do I have? Since the megaserver hit I don’t see any guilds that I recognize. I don’t see roleplay. The sense of community is gone. I know where I am, but I feel lost. Like I’ve landed on an alternate reality where everything looks the same but everyone is a stranger. It feels like I’ve just been kicked from my community/server. I don’t feel anger, I feel sad and resigned.
If there was a RP tag/flag/checkbox that helped the megaserver sort players, I would use it all the time so I could re-join the community I chose to be on. There’s a core of serious and vocal roleplayers, but surrounding that core is a vast, quieter group of semi-roleplayers who consider outselves part of the RP community. And we aren’t all on TC or Piken. So take the percentage of the player base that you assume make up the RPers, and double, triple, quadruple it — we’re a much bigger group than you imagine. And we’re all being affected by this.
I’m disappointed at the loss of Name Change Contract. It was one of the few things that I’d actually want and had value.
This sounds like a coverup! What is down there that the Arcane Council doesn’t want us to see? They throw everyone who goes down there in jail — this is highly suspicious activity.
Is there a rampaging, mutated three-headed canine? An entire inquest lab filled with kidnapped test subjects? A whole society of miniature trolls? Did they dump golem parts down there and now those golems have evolved to repair themselves and create new golems? Or is it something more weird and dangerous…
I’m pretty sure the icons for the dragon bash food have changed since the aetherblade patch. They now appear to be melting or otherwise worse off? Maybe I’m imagining it… but the chocolate bars look melty and saggy and I don’t remember the koi being so fuzzy. The bun looks more like a walnut than a bun. Is this an indication that there is a expiry date on the food from dragon bash? Has any one else noticed the change in the appearance or am I imagining it?
I’m looking forward to a solo dungeon. But I’m also glad there’s a harder 5 man dungeon. It’s win-win I’d say. I like having lots of choices for what to do, so thank you anet for doing that for us!
