There’s a strong possibility that many of the people complaining about the game remain purely to bash GW2 for the sake of twisted enjoyment. For whatever reason, they may enjoy another MMO more – which is fine – though the constant comparisons grow tiresome considering this game has never claimed to be the next big WoW clone. I’m loving GW2 and I know a fair few people who are as well. Some have left, but that’s normal and natural.
I have a few friends who have ALWAY"S been MMO hoppers they enjoy GW2 but there always looking for the next big game/MMO as soon as an Expack come’s out thay have already said they plan to be back ((just as thay do with most game’s))
I wouldnt trust it if it needs my user name and password any way, might be giveing it right to a gold farmer
also there’s still a steady flow of this game being sould out of the store I work at. sold out on the 25th got more in the day befor yesterday and sold about half of them.
The game is 5 weeks out why are not the all servers full? Why are they not making new servers? Ohhhh……… I know the game peaked and its all down hill from here!

People are falling into groups now Guilds and friends are the only people they do dungeons with
I know i only do them with my Guildys
and seeing that you can be in more than one guild there’s plent to go around
I’m on northern shiverpeaks and it always seems kinda empty no matter where I am. I have been all over the place recently and I never feel like I’m with a group.
I think this has more to do with people just being way more sprad out now, and less to Packs trying to rush to max
also the fact that its not that first 2 week rush we had. I mean people did take the first week off from work to play and such.
I play less than i did now only a few hours a day, but thats not because i dont enjoy the game, just that i have other responsibility and i know the game is going to be there when i get back.
man i dont know what you people are talking about after 3:00 when people get home from work and school my sever is still plenty packed.

also the better your sever dose the more lootz gold and mats you get just from standerd playing. Winning or not as long as your getting points
they put in place a kind of karma cap, if you reach it the game brings your karma gain down for an hour or two, it’s part of the whole Anti-bot thing
thats not how it works the karma / loot cap is only suppose to go off if you farm the same event for to long.

Its called diminish returns, they are making the game terrible for hardcore gamers to make botting less desirable. And probably to let casual players not be far behind (Not only with Diminish Returns but also with the daily quests and stuff).
This may lead to a discurssion and my only argument here is if you try harder then others you should be better than others.
the DR is only soppose to happen if you do the same chain again and again.

This question naturally arises – seeing how I find the story in GW2 beyond naive and predictable. It’s one huge cliche. At the same time, I see people intrigued by it.
So I wonder – am I too old for video game stories? Maybe they are tailored for the younger folks. I feel like I’ve heard it all before.
Is it time for me to start reading Dostoyevsky and Isaac Asimov in order to find “a challenge” for my intellect/level of maturity?

yes beating a boss is epic the first time you do it and hell i would be ok not getting much for my first run

its true i didnt play game’s like Mario and Mega man to gain anything other than bragging rights, hell my first time into a Dungeon that’s all im really going in there for. but every time after that i expect to be rewarded in FULL
and what ever happend to anti-grined. I pice of gear each run that would be anti-gined. this haveing to got 400 tokens for 1 peace of gear and only haveing less than half that after 3 runs each giveing 60 is just BS
if you wanted long term should have added somthing like a no way-point mode with only slightly better gear but the same skin or somthing…..
I just finished Arah Story today… BIGGEST DISAPOINTMENT SO FAR. I don’t have many with this game, its great and entertaining overall but this is an Elder Dragon, not some shiny right hand lad, and his fight was easier than just the minions. I’m sure it isn’t working as intended but for future Elder Dragons, I hope they are much more complex and rewardin than this.
Im with you on this love the game as a hole but story and rewards are what will keep me coming back.
right now one just fails at the end and the other is busted….
1. Zhaitan needs to be bigger.
2. Zheitan needs to be an actual threat and danger, apart from his actions in the cutscenes.
3. Less annoying adds on deck, more fun with canons – more skills, dragons dodging your shots, the need to block their attacks, additional flying adds to aim for.
4. Kill someone important. Kill Logan. Or Traherne. Whatever. There is a lack of drama. I don’t want a cheesy Disney happy ending. Let Traherne sacrifice his life to deal the final blow to Zheitan or something.
5. Make the Zheitan encounter more epic. Let him crush some mountains, add more ships that attack him. You do not attack an Elder Dragon with 1 puny ship! Make him destroy some of the other ships, maybe with some of our friends.

why is the big bad boss so week, his Adds are stronger than him that just isn’t right.
hell a dungeon were we have to fight him as all 3 boss’s each time he looks more F-ed up but he keeps getting stronger like he is getting more dessprit.
if they don’t Change the Zhaitan add a free content patch were we fight him again because he’s not actualy dead…. and this time actualy make it epic… Let us kill him see him fall put a sword in his eye and chew his face off.

i think it has less to do with dungeon designe and more to do with reward distribution. the harder content should give you better rewards OR give you your rewards faster.
this DR system isn’t a totally bad Idea. If people take the easy path they get less rewards each time. people take the harder path they should get more, much more from the start. and than if they can do the super hard one’s super fast it drops. ((but the first fer time’s it drops still be more than what you get for the easy path))

I have an idea for how I think dungeons could reward skilled players and not penalize us for playing the content. I’d like to further reward people who do it in their completion most successfully.
This thread shouldn’t be about complaints on the current ‘bugged’ system. Rather, a way to find a more amicable solution. Please try to keep this constructive if you don’t like the idea.
The concept works like this:
At the start of a dungeon, you get 360 (a piece of gear) by completing it with zero deaths.
Each death is -5 tokens.
At the beginning of each dungeon, a dynamic event starts. Depending on the percentage of completing the dynamic event determines the percentage of that 180 tokens at the end you get.
The dynamic events is ‘kill trash" basically. 100% complete means that you’ve killed every mob in the dungeon and it’s clear
This return will never fall below 5 tokens for a successful run. As long as you kill the last boss, you get 5 tokens.
The percentage of how many tokens you get is awarded after each boss. For example, if when I get to the first boss and have done 15% of the dungeon and had 1 death, I get fifty four minus five tokens (54-5). I’m rewarded 54, but penalized 5 for the death. The total reward (54) is deducted from my potential 360 but receive 49.

I guess you don’t know your WoW history then… the Pandaren race was first mentioned as an April Fools joke waaaay back in 2002. It’s been a part of the lore for as long as the game as been around, pretty much.

top it off mobs don’t give much EXP and your scaled to the level of the content. Also if your both doing the same DE’s your EXP gain should be about the same.

Skyrim has both…. its better for it.
that said mounts should be handled much like underwater combat, any speed buff you get from them should be attached to your first five when rideing them. also what the hell would a norn or a char ride

Its a shame I feel its a spoiled game, it had all the potential the framework is in place, but its like people say this is an action game, more akin to an arcade 3d shooter, it doesnt even have the primary elements of an mmo, there is zero reward ZERO. Then people say well its not an mmo its not that type of game but then when I purchased I was sold on an mmo that was the pitch of the sale of the game.

There are classes yes. But true roles? No, the classes can simply do many things at the same time. So they are more flexible then a class that has one specific role. But they are less diverse then a class that can switch what it’s role is at any given time.
GW1 Diverse:
Warrior who chooses to Tank while sacrificing mitigation for Necro DPS.GW2 Diverse:
Warrior who chooses to wield a rifle instead of a sword. But who also has a heal.Diversity is different than amount of ability types on your bar. It means sacrifice of one to achieve another.

I play a support warrior myself, My build doesn’t let me do allot of Damage I focus much more on buffing my team with my banner’s and making the enemy weaker, I can res faster than most and in if need be my elite banner can get every one on there feet if there downed.
Yes I can still stack condition damage fairly well but that’s not the role i am Built to be optimal at ((there’s plenty of other’s that already play that way.))
So by Focus on banners you mean: choose traits that enlarge radius and add damage when placed (pathetic dmg). And place 3 banners on your bar. Right?
So your dmg is limited to the weapon skills effected by banner buffs. So your role is “support”. That is a solid role choice for the current warrior. However I would suggest chants personally but that is the difference I miss so yeah.
The only issue is that that is the ONLY role you can achieve.
Warrior: DPS or Support
Any other: DPS SupportAll classes can mass boons and conditions. ALL. But that isn’t the focus I want. I miss dedicated healer, tank, RDPS, MDPS, Distractor, etc…
there’s planty of other game’s out there like that i enjoy this one far more.

for some time I ran with a build better suted for Stomping and fearing I had the single target Kick the stomp and “fear me” as well as the Root ((salvary)) I use the Hammer and Rifle ((i love my rifle))
I enjoyed it but supports more my thing ((just wish i got reworded for it better in WvW)) it was nice to basically be able to push mobs and players to were i wanted them.

I also use a shield in order to suck up some dammeg when i can and I’m treated so it has a faster cool-down. just another thing that prevents me from dishing out huge DPS. But hell if a cant keep you on your feet
the problem is not that there arnt roles the problem is that players dont use them. I sware i see another Gard with a grate sword and all his utilatys for Damage and damage buffs I’m going to explode

well, some classes (actually only guardian) can only support in wvw, and they currently don’t get any reward.
thats not totaly true, I do see alot of Gards with A grate sword and that alows them to pull eniemys off walls and out of big groups.
that said a Gard with a grate sword and going Damage is Kinda a waste when they can support so well

Also make it an achievement to get 1 gold in every explorable i think, and a awesome looking bit of gear to go with it. nod more long term gole’s \o/ (but not as long term as the full sets)
The easy way to do this is to make the damage calculation GROUP WIDE instead of with individuals.
If you play support to your group with heals, shields, bubbles etc, they stay alive longer, do more damage (from your buffs), and overall the group does more damage than others if divided by five.
I agree with this it would also give people more insentivew to LFG befor just running out and bashing on stuff in WvW. Grouping is more fun any way.
I second this, the game needs more encouragment for players to play the role of support, this would especially be valuable for engineers and gaurdians I think.

this would also give them even more reputability Only got copper or silver on that run, one more Push for gold! ((takeing there cut from the diminished renters we seem to have now because people farm to much))
I know A-net dosnt want a Feeling of fighting with other players ((well on there own sever)) and I think this fits that idea. you always get reworded no matter how bad you do, BUT now you have that extra push to really do well.
so even that extra dude who you invited because you were down a man, wants to play smarter in order to get that gold.

So dungeons , some people say there to hard and other’s say there to easy a-lot of this has to do with the fact that you Die a-lot if you just Zerg it. but why shouldn’t I Zerg it its not like i get better loot if I stay alive. yeah yeah i don’t have to pay the repair bills but some people just don’t think about that
take off your gear and Zerg away! you will get the same loot no matter what.
I say make it so if you don’t Die much you should get better Loot (more silver, tokens, EXP. ETC) don’t take away the loot we are already getting now just Give us teirs and something to work harder for.

or much like the DE’s copper, silver, Gold Rewards
