They won’t take responsibility. In fact, they’ve done the exact opposite and put ALL responsibility upon their customers.
Facts remain, there are severe holes in their “security” and so far, they’ve not taken the steps to repair them.

The TP/Cash shop was on the fritz yesterday and a load of people got screwed out of their money and purchases. Open a ticket and hope for the best!

The TP was bugging out big time today. It seems the only currency they are able/willing to refund, when you don’t get what you try to buy, is Gems. Put in a support ticket and see what you can get, in terms of help.

Send in a support ticket and they will change it for you. Be sure you include your CD-key, the new address you need it to be and, if you ordered directly from them, the last 4 digit of the credit card used.

It shows up empty for me, too. But it works on my husband’s computer/account.
Who knows?

Yep. I put in a bug report yesterday afternoon. I lost 4 gold while the TP was bugging out. It’s so wonderful that they’re refusing to refund gold lost through the TP because of their buggy code!
Tried to buy 1 item. Got a response from the TP that it failed and could not be completed. I was then booted off the game for a “network error.” Could not log back into the game for 20 minutes as the “network error” persisted. Once I did log back in, I checked the TP, saw that it was “down;” I checked the Pick Up tab and there was the item that it said I wasn’t able to buy and my inventory was shorted twice the cost of the item.
Awesome!

Your friend can still submit a support ticket without an account. Go to Support and then Ask A Question.

They are not doing restorations. You can put in a ticket but they will just tell you this. They said they hope to have it “some time in the future.”

You can put in a ticket, but they’re not doing restorations at this time. They have said possibly in the future.

Because of the issues with account theft, I’m assuming they’re allowing the free transfers to continue a while longer.

You don’t have to be logged into support to create a ticket. I don’t even have a support account, but I have a ticket.

Certain servers certainly do seem full of them. My husband’s account was recently stripped. When we got it back, he logged in to the server which the thief transferred him to. Every message, over the course of the 5 minutes he was on that server assessing the damage to his character, was gold-spam/account services spam. That makes me think it may be a server they’re congregating on.

Nothing. They will not restore any thing lost; either by your account getting breached, or by user error.

I’ve got a ticket in with CS in an attempt to change my account name since they’ve disabled the option to do so through this site.
They tell us to be sure to use something we’ve not used before. In the mean time, let’s remove everyone’s ability to make the changes we’re requesting them to make …

No, no phone number. Submit a ticket on support page and get in line.

Doesn’t matter. They’re not restoring items or currency, in any form.

I know you were joking, but ArenaNet can’t force people to use a solid first form of auth.
Except that the first form of authentication is broken for many users. E-mail notifications/verifications fail to send. Effectively locking the players out of their own accounts for taking the steps to secure it.
How is this solid?

They removed the option to do so some time today. I tried to change mine this morning and the change was not making any effect. Now, the option to do so is no longer there.

Updated only denotes that either you or they have made contact since your initial posting of the incident.

Nope. There is not. Just an e-mail saying “Someone, hopefully you, has changed the e-mail on this account. If it wasn’t you, contact support.” -or something very similar.
Great system.

I’m sorry Gaile, but there is no confirmation for changing a password. I changed mine earlier today and received no notification what-so-ever.

My husband’s account was stolen this morning and the account e-mail was changed. In an effort to prevent the same from happening to mine, I’ve been trying to change my information. I have managed to change the password. However, when I attempt to change the account e-mail nothing happens. I receive no notice that the change was made on the account screen, in fact, the account e-mail field reverts to the original. I have not received any e-mail notification to either address that an attempted change was made (even when I changed the password).
So, if I am unable to change my account e-mail. How is that that just hours ago, the thief of my husband’s account was able to complete the process successfully??

I find it interesting that the account “hacks” are able to change the account names however, if I try to do it right now, nothing happens. Good thing they’re recommending that we change the account names for added security!
