Check the guild tags at the front. That is PAXA joining in with 25+ HoD to try to kill us. I’ve never seen you guys do something like that before. You hit us while we were fighting those numbers. What’s up with that? And what happened to you is precisely the reason why I always try to get my group to pull out and leave in those situations because I’d never want to be caught dying with a zerg at my back like that.
Below is the fight where you added in. Check the tags. It’s HoD. This was not too long after we let you 1v1 the thief. A fight which you won, but we had to kill you because you went to stomp him. People don’t do that in duels.
How do you deal with runners and how do you run if you wanted?
You really can’t deal with runners but if you land the torment, prestige burn, staff swap combo any glass cannon will die just from that. The only real way to keep up with a runner is to be good at Phase retreating off random mobs behind you but if the person you are chasing won’t fight back most of your damage is negated as torment is the bulk of it.
As far as running away learn to juke after stealth and you can use phase retreat while targeting mobs that are out of range to blink in random directions to really confuse players then just wait for cds to start fighting again a stealth is always coming off cd every few secs it seems.

I die a lot in wvw since I take on any number at any time unlike some players who are so scared of getting killed because of the horrible thing that happens when you die, NOTHING. Cowardice in a game that has no consequences for death shows a glimpse into the person behind the keyboard.

If you are that annoying solo Mesmer who just likes to run around with groups spamming your clones, you are right, no one wants to play with you because you are kitten annoying.
As I recall, this is FCs first time with NSP in recent matchups. At any rate, you better get used to it. NSP roamers have a lot of mesmers and predominantly partial if not full bunker/support builds and nearly all of them run -condi duration food. Its a very powerful strategy but not a very interesting one.
Its not their fault either though, +/- condition duration food is too powerful that they essentially necessitate each other. Hopefully we’ll see that absurd 40% value reduced in an upcoming patch. Makes me feel dirty using koi cakes on my necro against people who won’t be able to handle it but they’re the only way to even dent the cheesy melandru + lemongrass.
Fortunately, though, they still have a few more cutthroat roamers still that keep things interesting (Teivo/Mugi come to mind).
Your right the food is op as kitten but if you aren’t running – condi duration food and someone useing +40% drops 1 min bleeds on you its gg. I use the op foods to give me freedom with my psec and utility choices and personally I use the +40% since I am a condi build.
As far as bunker builds go its hard to 5v1 as a gc mesmer and since I would rather have to keep track of multiple targets I spec to fight them. Spec to maximize your enjoyment of the game.

Trying to compare me akitteng by guards to your guild getting rolled 2v4 by Rackin is laughable since it was 4 people running to guards constantly. I make no claim to be anywhere near as good as Rackin or Wafflez, they will roll any 4 man group so I wouldn’t feel too bad since you were just another guild group they crapped on.

Just got some 1v4 fights with 3 PAXA and a CASH guardian total 1 hs thief downed not stomped as I was too busy /sit spamming. PAXA u so pro brought 2 more as I was trying to get a 3v1 duel with you guys.

HoD is generally tired of facing NSP and the hot join heroes always running loose on the borderlands, and toward the end of the week, will want it to just be over.
I dont agree at all. Myself and many HoDers are liking these NSP+HoD mashups. HoD is on the 3rd week of the closest most competitive matchups in all of GW2 NA.
Plains, I got nothing but respect for you, but I have been rolling in our BL for the last 2 weeks, and as much as I like a good fight, getting perma stunned and back-stabbed by a 4-person team that got lost on their way to PvP is getting increasingly frustrating. I’m not mad at the teams themselves, playing flutes over my corpse, or spamming laugh after killing an engineer, of all things (post that screen shot on your fridge). I was just ready for something fresh to revitalize our teams.
I didn’t mean to generalize the entire server, but the HoD BL regulars have generally agreed with my sentiment, at least through the day, when other people are on the map, they do.
Perhaps we can figure out something to rejuvenate HoD WvWers since I happen to really like your server.

I was looking forward to fighting FC as I started there at release but this is horrible. 5+ people running from me constantly. Not a single person has fought in a 1v1 without just running away its pathetic. I have lost all the respect I had for FC in the first few hours of this matchup.

Again, loving this build. I started using the Signet of Domination along with decoy and blink. Both the extra 180 condition damage and the stun (for both chasing and fleeing) are quite useful.
Was debating trying that out since veil is more for 1v3+ might have to swap that in tonight. I have used Technobabble for the 3sec daze so that people can keep moving for torment damage but can’t remove it, but that skill seems really buggy and has no passive.
Nice build Varconi. [pd misses fighting you guys] I am running it with undead runes and rabid armor. I’d like to try it with apothecary and melandru but i am a poor panda atm. With my gear set im running about 2k Con Dam after 25 stacks/food/consumables, 1894 toughness. With your gear setup what kind of stats do you have?
I just got my first ascended piece which helped getting condi/toughness/vitality on trinkets will really help me get this build dialed in even more.

I’d just like to add another vote (and give Varconi some credit) for how awesome this build is. It’s quite potent in sPvP as well.
Now if only the torch trait wasn’t in the domination line…
I haven’t tried it in spvp will have to give it a go. Its always fun bringing something different to a fight, and then watching your enemy stumble around with no idea how to counter you.
Just make scepter #1 produce 2 clones. I’m sure it is possible, Anet can make this change quite easily. =P
It actually did produce 2 for awhile it was bugged. Was really overpowered for specs with conditions on clone death as you could create so many clones.
However, Scepter is still in a strange place. With another condition and condition damage added to Malicious Sorcery trait, it’s time take the plunge and scrap Ether Bolt.
Problems with Ether Bolt chain:
power scaling, unlike rest of weapon
clones are too frequent in PVE (can’t even shatter them all)
clones are unreliable in sPVP (hard to get 3rd skill chain off)
clones’ attacks do nothing (unlike sword and staff)
doesn’t scale with weapon/illusion recharge reduction traits (lackluster compared to other clone skills late game)
or GW2 style: “Create a clone with low hp that runs the direction you’re facing. If this clone is killed, enemy is inflicted with Torment.”
MOAR MINDGAMES! That’s the true fun of mesmer. Imagine Illusion of Weakness with Decoy or The Prestige!
Scepter is amazing atm I run it in power and condition builds. Any changes to make it stronger are unwarranted and would make mesmer even more op than it currently is.

You have to acknowledge one aspect of the sceptre that does need the change. It’s auto attack doesn’t really provide synergy with the rest of the condition theme. It is also out dpsed by other weapon sets in terms of raw damage.
The reason it does not synergies is the lack of a condition proc from it’s auto attack which then makes the clones some what only good for shatter fodder. If the clones caused 1 second of confusion on the target or some sort of condition to at least keep some pressure up. It would complete the weapon and make it perfect for it’s role. Another idea could be anet doing away with the clone creation on auto and add a condition chain similar to the necromancer but not as op to the auto attack.
You can not have every single attack have conditions, we already have access to so many and scepter 2 is the strongest condition attack in game atm. 5 stacks of torment that with condition duration is longer than the cd.
We don’t make any ridiculous claims but our core group is rolling your server, look at the score, ask your commanders. We are good at the WvW game. We aren’t a roaming guild and don’t claim to be, but we know how to win WvW. We aren’t the best players in the game and nobody claimed we were. I really don’t know what you’re trying to accomplish by being a kitten on the forums, and I’m going to end it at that.
How entertaining. First you try and act all hard and then you take a mixed approach of playing the victim while simultaneously acting hard in regards to being good at obtaining a high PPT.

My phantasm build was prepatch so was 0 20 20 25 5 not sure where I would put those 5 points now. My Phantasm build was scepter/pistol staff and relied on confusion stacking with ethereal and iduelist. It was hard to land combos in 1vx fights, but was extremely powerful in 1v1s. I am getting a lot better with this build as I only came up with it a few days ago so I feel confident now that I could take a phantasm build played by an equally skilled player now.
The condition build is designed primarily for 1vx fights and I am winning 5-6-7-8v1s pretty consistently as long as it is not more than 4 or 5 lvl 80s. If my comp could handle recording I would have had some great footage from today but lags been horrific all day.

Glass dagger pistol thief can easily kill a glass Mesmer running shatter in two backstabs. I have 15K health so yeah I get rolled by a thief once in a while.
