If you are active and playing, regardless of who is helping in the fight, then no you are not going to be banned – that’s just stupid if you did.
I too would like to see the gear shield permanently on my character while using this kit.
Just a wrench in hand is kinda plain.
Armor durability in general is extremely low, either remove it from wvw or increase it in wvw and in pve.
sound like, people like OP just want endless gears grinding game
Sounds like people like us want a reason to play the game besides the grind.
We sure do.
Well, the engineer kits pretty much already do this. It’s a skill that changes the main powers, and makes the class play differently. It would be that plus a change in the model to change how it looks.
I could also say that a warrior switching from a melee weapon to a ranged weapon also does this, but that would be stupid of me to do so.
Not sure we need another class. Other than the shapeshifting, what role would you like it to play that would make it different from other classes? If it is too similar to another class, there would be little point in adding it…
Every class has some similarities to another class in this game.
The point is to create a dynamic class that utilizes different forms, which in turn offers unique skills and abilities expanding on the idea the game already offers with the Norn racials.
(edited by Vigilence.4902)
Needs a fix/adjustment, the fact that using this skill to escape cc only to cc yourself is ridiculous.
Please add.
it wouldn’t but, you can actually jump right back into a fight after a down instead of running around like a chump while you sort that out.
Are you referring to the loss of the kit while in the down state or when entering water, or other numerous instances?
Also,did u tested a full toughness build?
Try a full knight gold armour + full toughness tree:then go for elixirs,or 2 turrets(rifle and rocket) + elixir S(to have the emergency exit botton ready ;D ).
This is how i play.I have no problem, and usually glass cannon build run away from me.Yes, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tvMi67ClaYc&feature=plcpthe
but I want to know why we are so behind on damage also why is the delivery of our damage so bad. Dont get me wrong, there are some great toughness and healing builds out there. should not be forced to play defensive builds when all the other professions have a choice
I agree, compared to many of the other classes are damage delivery is simply awful. The rifle abilities are poorly done, the pistols don’t deliver as much damage as they should, some of the kits are horrible and poorly done, and many of our abilities don’t work as intended.
A big flaw I see with the engineer is that the kits that provide massive damage are all kits that require you to be within melee range, with the exception of the grenade kit – which is mainly used for multiple targets.
I say remove one of the useless kits and replace it with a kit that allows high damage at long distance to a single target. Something like a sniper rifle kit would be nice.
How would the change effect damage output?
Pet Snacks
A way to temporarily improve pet abilities in dungeons and PvE situations can be achieved through pet snacks. These snacks can act as a temporary buff similar to the way food currently works on players.
The pet snacks can be a cooking craftable item.
Something that is kinda similar would be the elementalist utilities where they spawn weapons. Not exactly shapeshifing (which would be interesting) but you can switch combat styles easily (bow, axe, sword, etc)
That would be a great idea for a mercenary class, what I would like to see is a shapeshifting profession, were each form has a unique combat style.
A shapeshifter profession that allows the player to shapeshift into various forms, which each allow a different style of combat, would be super cool.
Although the Norn can already do something similar, its a racial ability, not a profession, and is a gimmicky skill that can go on cool down.
Anet can expand on the Norn shapeshifting ability and create a profession out of it that all players and races can use.
[Suggestion] Make Thief CD based profession like everyone else

When it comes to double dagger builds, Thieves spam 2 skills because the other 2 (auto-attack doesn’t count) are purely situational.
Anyone here even consider this before complaining on the forums?
Agreed. Especially for on-going events, where you don’t have a clue what is really happening or the motivation behind the quest.
Some sort of quest tracker or journal would be nice, where we could look up quests and the like. Perhaps even add lore entries to this journal, because so far, the game is very bare in the lore department.
Would love to have a Risen Feline Pet. Or to be able to teach “skills” to them. Atm we kinda feel “MUST bear/feline”. Cause compared to them, others dont add much.
I do agree, some of the other pets stats aren’t really up to snuff if you are looking for an alternative to the bear for tanking, or cat for dps.
Yes for mounts, but only if properly implemented.
Nothing generic.
I want Tame Skelk
It’s on the list Kamiks
Yes, please. I agree with all of this, especially having dolphins as tamable pets. I was thinking about that while looking at the dolphins.
I never knew Dolphins existed in the game, but as one passed right in front of me I couldn’t help but wonder why weren’t they on the list of tamable pets. Would of been cool to have one especially considering the lack of variety when it comes to aquatic species as pets.

Pet Dueling
A cool function would be the ability for fellow Rangers to have pets duel each other.
All the abilities would be on auto-cast including the unique ones.
Perhaps even events similar to chicken fights, where you would register pets to fight in competitions for prizes and such.
Update: Added Mammoths to the list.
Same.
Pet Accessories
While on my adventures across Tyria I happened to come along a fellow Ranger who had a Black Moa companion. What I immediately noticed on this pet was that he had not one but two accessories – A spiked collar and a spiked ankle bracelet. Another thin I noticed was that the Mistfire Wolf is wearing armor as well.
I think it would be cool if we too could add accessories to our Ranger pets. Accessories such kitten collars, bracelets, ribbons, war paint, handkerchiefs, scarves, bells armor and the like would be a refreshing addition into making our pets unique from other players, reflecting our and their style and nature.
While taking the time to relax, pets like their owners, could also wear town clothing such as scarves, sweaters, costumes, hats, booties etc.
The pet accessories can either be treated as cosmetic items and or treated as equippable items that improve stats. Perhaps even allow certain crafting professions such as Jewel Crafting and Leather Working to make these items.

Anti-farming should be renamed to anti-crafting.
Otters, seals, whales, snakes, seagulls – the list could go on and on on what I would like added to the fauna of tyria.
But agree, otters would be cool to see in game.
Players have already found ways at traveling with a permanent speed boost of 30% and the world hasn’t ended. Substituting that method of traveling with a cosmetic one shouldn’t be a problem.
However, mount combat should be considered, as it helps the mount system stand apart from being just another dull mount system.

Love this idea. I too wondered why there isn’t any fish recipes or why we can’t just sit back and fish.
Fishing can be done for fun, competitive events, dynamic events and for crafting skills such as cooking.
Ignore the haters, mounts please!
Must have this.
I really wouldn’t worry about Pet variety, you can almost guarantee there will be more types of pets added to the game. The way I see it you have an enormous amount of pets to choose from anyway.
Actually most people including myself consider it very tiny, especially the water pets.
Open World PvP with the rift idea sound good to me.
I’m sure the dev teams can be creative when it comes to the passives. As for the option of sheep and Raccoon’s, I say why not? The more variety the better.
Reporting Inappropriate Pet Names
Like players, pets too can have inappropriate names. However unlike players, pets currently can not be reported for an inappropriate name. A system similar to the one for reporting players is also needed for pets.
I too feel punished. WvWvW needs a serious overhaul.
Half the time I don’t know whats happening because I can’t see my team on the map. Devs should take a long look on how the BF3 map/team system is.
This really needs to be addressed attacking with just one weapon when you have two is really stupid. Not sure what the animation guys were thinking.
That’s because you are not supposed to feel like a “god among mere mortals”. The Downscaling System is perfectly fine.
The idea is fine, but its implementation isn’t. Someone checked, and we are currently getting our stats reduced way too much when we are down-leveled.

Ever heard of discovery? Put few pieces in there and see what happens. It rewards you with load of XP and a new recipe. Never level crafting in GW2 like in WoW, use discovery. Period.
Discovery indeed is a great way at leveling crafting – up to a point.
Often not, the player levels too fast for crafting to be of use for his current level. Another problem is that in order to level crafting one needs mats. In order to obtain these mats one must grind and kill numerous different mobs for said mats. This results in the player once again out leveling the usefulness of crafting all in attempt at obtaining a measly scale.
While working for mats isn’t a problem in itself, the amount of mats needed to create for example 1 master insignia, is currently a little high.
Thus the whole cycle becomes one large straneous grind, where the player will often not be able to craft level appropriate items due to not having enough of the proper materials to level his craft.
The grind now begins.
and once you find the mobs that drop the mats you need and start farming them, guess what? a half hour down the road nothing but grey trash for a half hour.
Yeah, the drop rate is definitely an issue as well.
I also feel Account Based Karma and Tokens are a great idea. Currently I have CM tokens in my bank for my Ranger and Engineer, both taking up a slot for the same item.
Neither tokens nor Karma are combinable, which feels like a waste of time and effort.
I feel that if its an ability that isn’t in range the character should walk the distance needed for that ability to be useful.

Pet Names
At the moment every Ranger from all across Tyria know of the Pet name bug. Currently Pet names only save if you don’t switch out your 4 pets for any that are in storage. If you happened to switch back to a previous pet, its name is reset to Juvenile.
I would love to have all pet names stored and remembered. This means names for all my pets even the ones that are in storage.

I like a lot of the other suggestions about tameable pets and would likely try to find them, but my heart does beat extra about the Alpine Stalker.
Added Alpine Stalker to the list.
One thing I would like to see, which I guess is a bug they will work on later on as it isn’t that important compared to other things. Is the fact that pets lose their name when they are put in the pet panel (or stable as I like to call it ;P ) It’s only a small thing, but a quite annoying one in my opinion atleast
I didn’t bring it up because I believe, if I’m not mistaking, that its been brought up before. But since this thread is dedicated to pets, I’ll go over the problem again with possible suggestions for improvement.
Another thing I would love to see, is the possibilty to give our pets collars. I have noticed that the black moa has collar as well as “bracelets”. So the change to give our pets a collar (a leather collar for the felines/canines for example. Doesn’t have to be extravagant
), however I would prefer it to be something the player can decide. So that if they want a collar they can choose to have that, but if they don’t want it.. they don’t have to.
/Kaz
I too was considering this idea since I also noticed that the Black Moa seems to wear a spike collar and spiked ankle bracelet.
I’d also like dual wield attacks like dual pistols to have an animation that makes the character shoot from both similar to Dante from Devil May Cry.
Patch notes please. I like being informed about what’s going on with each patch.
Would love to have a duel system. This would help me greatly in tweak and creating builds as well as experience with fighting certain classes.
I approve of all of this. I’d love to have a black wolf, a lion or a griffon for my Ranger… I know my wife would salivate at a phoenix pet.
I’m dying for a Crested Raptor pet myself, let’s keep our fingers crossed.
Currently the dungeons so far are very dry and painfully boring. This seems like a step in the right direction at making them fun.
Wow what a great idea!
Sounds wikedly good.
