Pet Unique Ability on Auto-Attack

The option to have the pet unique ability on auto-attack is needed.

Increase Pet Movement Speed

Even with the speed trait selected from the Rangers skill tree, pet speed is awfully slow. This becomes even more noticeable in PvP situations.

No, not working as intended. Anet has said they are working on making a kit have an autoattack.

Hopefully to actually remember the auto attack setting, and to not switch out kits when we hit water or revive.

Completely agree, at the moment crafting isn’t viable at all and is hard as hell to have crafting stay at the current level of your character due to the way mats are handled within the game.

You engineers have GOT to be kidding. I cannot believe you’re calling for a rework on your downed state when it’s in a good place. You want to see underpowered? Go play an elementalist. Our downed state is pathetic. We have NO interrupts on our 2. Our 1 does mediocre damage just like any other 1 skill, so hope of finishing someone there. Our 2 is a channel snare, whose activation has a short delay so unless the enemy is 10 feet away, the snare does nothing to stop them from stomping us. Our 3 is almost never used in close fights because we just get stomped as soon as we’re downed, and if it is used, people just wait for us to come out of it for a free stomp.

Complain about something else. The downed state is for us kittened elementalists.

Please complain about the elementalist on the elementalist class forum, this place is for engineer players, not people trying to redirect attention to the problems of other classes – This is considered a very poor attempt at trolling and overall idiocy.

hmm, several of the engineer abilities miss or are mysteriously obstructed if your moving around when you cast them. Do those abilities encourage you to stand still?

I absolutely hate it when the flamethrower misses when I dodge attacks or when your within 10 yards of an enemy and your poison darts still manage to miss several times.

Engineer rifle spells and warrior rifle spells seem to be backwards.

Jumping through hoops to get a broken ability to work is merely a temporary solution. Like many of our other broken abilities this one needs to work exactly the way the warriors rifle volley ability works – they all hit target and don’t just randomly miss for no apparent reason.

I Agree completely, engineer rifle skills are extremely lacking in range and damage when compared the warriors rifle skill. I honestly feel that the warrior rifle abilities should have been given to the engineer instead of the garbage ones we are currently stuck with.

I also feel motar needs to be switched with a bazooka

Please give armor crafters a few skins that actually look decent.

Every piece of armor that I have crafted, whether light, medium, or Heavy looks plain generic and boring. Adding a few cool looking items here and there would be nice.

Being able to craft town clothes would be a nice option for armor crafters. Crafting would be more enjoyable and players could have some variety in the way they dress and would actually use their town clothing more often.

More cool looking armor

Some armor looks super cool, some not so much. Bringing the same artistic quality across all armor would be nice.

Ability to craft racial/class armor

Players would get extra racial armor recipes based on their race, which they can craft.

I find the bomb kit absolutely useless because you have to be within melee range to use it and an engineer in melee range is a dead engineer.

This means you can’t use it in dungeons, PvP, or PvE situations that are against bosses or champions.

My suggestions is to replace the bomb kit with something useful like a rocket launcher, bazooka or sniper rifle we can actually hold and use similar to the flamethrower but more focused on high powered damage on a single target.

Trading Post Idea

Sale Items

So I’ve been checking the trading post and I have around 200 items that are up for sale. Some items are new, most older than 2 weeks.

The items that are older than 2 weeks are priced lowest market value, but due to 1000k+ of them for sale likely won’t be sold anytime soon.

A solution for this is to have items that have been on the trade-post for lets say 2 weeks or more automatically enter into sale mode where they are discounted for 10-15% off.

This will make them cheaper and more likely to be sold.

Trade Post Flippers

More and more often I see Trade Post flipper request hundreds of the item for 2-10cs trying to get a cheap supply, not knowing that people can’t trade-in those items because the game locks people from selling items that are undervalued. Either decrease the prices players can put up when trying to sell an item, or increase the low end amount players can enter when requesting items.

Please give us a way to "inspect" other players.

Class Armor

No clue why doesn’t wasn’t already in the game. With a total of 3 medium armor wearers in the game, 2 cloth, and 2 heavy, armor style looks are becoming redundant and generic.

As an Engineer I don’t want to look like a thief, whom in turn looks like a ranger. It makes me feel generic and uncool.

Different style helms
Armor should have different helm options besides the medium armor face mask or heavy armor skateboarder helmet the game keeps on using, over and over and over again.

How about using some of the helm designs players had the option of using during character creation. You know, the different style hoods thief’s could choose from, or the monocles engineers can get. It seems these choices was a one time thing and that after character creation these options are nowhere to be found.

Make dyes consistent on ALL pieces of armor
I’ve come to notice that dyeing medium armor has its downsides, since there is always one piece of the outfit, when dyed, that just doesn’t match the rest of the outfit.

For example. I dyed my chest, gloves, boots, pants, shoulders, and helm the color Redemption. On every piece of armor the color matches except the shoulders which come out a slightly muddy looking shade of redemption. Consistency across all pieces would be great.

Please limit Musketeer/Pirate Armor

While the pimp looking musketeer/pirate leather armor might fancy some for a laugh or two, others like me consider it the goofiest looking medium armor in the game. Please limit the amount of armor that has these looks. Its bad enough that every single piece of low level dungeon badge armor uses the same skin, but to have it a goofy musketeer skin is just plain wrong.

Please give armor crafters a few skins that actually look decent.

As the title suggests, sometimes during combat for whatever reason you are attacking something and have tabbed to a different target in which you would like to attack.

Unfortunately, auto attack doesn’t kick in unless you actually press it.

Not something game breaking, but if you play sPvP then you know how useful this would be.

Why isn’t there a charmable Dolyak in GW2 yet, Arenanet!?

Yeah, I knew I forgot a few fauna found across the world. Dolyak would indeed be a cool pet.

I like this as a concept overall.

Personally as a player I dislike using pets in general. So one addition I would add is the ability for the ranger to completely turn off pets and just play solo. Especially in groups and dungeons.

More emotes would be very nice. I would also like to those emotes interact with players. Such as me hugging a character it would include that characters name in the text.

I would like to see emotes that interact with one another such as dancing. Two players using this emote next to each other would then dance together.

When I first started WvWvW I realized that WvWvW was a rich mans game when me and my 25s couldn’t buy anything useful that would affect the game.

Agreed, farthest SPVP should go is with colored banners. We can already tell who is or is not an enemy, loud obnoxious monochromatic armor isn’t going to point them out any further.

Pet A.I. – Quality of Life Improvements.

One of things I have noticed on my Journeys across Tyria is that the pet A.I. isn’t very intuitive. Pets stand on AOE without flinching, never dodge attacks, and tend to stand still and miss attacks when using their unique ability.

To remedy the first problem pets should also get an endurance bar in which they can utilize to avoid attacks, and AOE spells. To remedy the 2nd problem, pets should be able to use their unique ability while moving. This solves the problem of the pet staying still to howl while the enemy has just moved 10 yards ahead causing the howl to miss.

Rangers need the ability to order a pet to stay in a certain area, similar to flagging in GW1 and toggle pet unique skills so that they are on auto-cast is needed.

List of Pet Unique Abilities That Needs To Be Reworked

Suidae Family – Forage.

While Forage sounds great on paper, in real-time use its rather useless. In PvP stopping to pickup an improvised weapon instead of using your own will often result in death, same as dungeons. In both PvE and PvP the weapons are of too little use to bother with except for a quick chuckle.

I would like this skill replaced with another type of skill that is actually useful such as a knockdown/interrupt like a headbutt/bash.

Pet Rarity, and Rare Skins

A few pets that are rare to acquire should be added to the game. This gives players an incentive to go pet hunting so they can acquire this rare pet. This can either be done by timer, day/night cycle unlockable quests etc.

Another great addition to the game would be the ability to breed your pets to achieve rare skins that aren’t naturally found in the wild.

Pet Combat Toggle Option

As suggested by LEGION, a toggle option for pet combat in which you could completely turn off Ranger Pets from being used/seen while in combat. Think solo Ranger.

Pet Variety Please!

The image of a Ranger, while different from game to game, has always been synonymous with the Rangers pet. So when you realize that you have access to such a limited amount of fauna in the game you feel cheated.

More Colors Please!

If we can tame the Black, Blue, Pink Red, White Moa’s why not let us tame the Green and Golden Variety’s as well?

In-Game Animals Rangers Would Like To Tame

Here is a list of current animals located in the game that I strongly feel should be tamable: Raptors, Rock dogs, Alpine Stalker, Coyotes, Armadillos, Osprey, Griffons, Raccoon, Crows, Deer, Moose, Goats, Sheep, Barracuda, Dolphins, Flying Insects such as the Dragonfly, Electric Fish, Ice Spiders, Bats, Marmox, Shrimp, Crabs, Minotaurs, Wargs, Rams, Plated Behemoths, and Skelk.

Tamable Animals Players Would Like To Have Added To The Game
Variety of Big Cats, Manta Rays, Eels, Variety of Sharks, Variety of Whales, Honey Badgers, Variety of Turtles, Phoenix, Ferrets, Variety of Fish, Dolyak, Variety of Squid, Variety of Octopus, Mammoths, Melandru’s Stalker.

Pet Evolution

I remember following up on Guild Wars 2, reading articles, visiting the website from time to time – trying my best to get any and all new info as it trickled to the masses. One thing that stuck out was the talk of the Pet Evolution System.

Now here is what was said about the Pet Evolution System in GW2 before the game was released.

Pets have customization options. The first of these has to do with a pet’s evolution level. Pets evolve up to 20 evolution levels. Each pet type receives automatic bonuses at different evolution levels. For bears, these bonuses might be increased health or increased damage. Pets gain evolution points when the player gains XP while the pet is active. At certain evolution levels, pets will unlock ability slots (up to 4 total). Ability slots can be filled from a list of active pet abilities based on pet type.

Now I’m not sure why this idea was scrapped. Maybe the developers didn’t have enough time to implement it but I can honestly say that playing a Ranger would have been more fun if a system like this existed.

So to help this idea get revisited I have added a few suggestions/tweaks to help the Pet Evolution idea become even better.

Pet Evolution – Visual Acknowledgement of Pet Progression

Working Synergistically with the Evolution idea from above Ranger Pets should visually evolve every 20 levels. Every 20th level the Ranger Pet will visually change to a slightly larger more ferocious/majestic/intimidating/powerful looking version leading all the way up to its ultimate form at level 80 where it looks deadly.

Pet Evolution – Sexing

One of the cool things in Guild Wars was the ability to see what sex your pet was. While this did not affect the pet in anyway I feel this idea should be brought back. To improve upon it, certain Pets could have a visual distinction between the male and female of its species.

For Example, Male River Drake could have a slightly brighter coloring, larger spinal spikes, and an overall larger girth when compared to its female counterpart.

Pet Evolution – Skill Unlocks

At each evolution level not only could the pet visually change but could also unlock a new unique ability for a total of 4 unique skills. The unique skills can be swapped similar to the way a player can change its utility/elite skills. This would allow players customization and variety when it comes to utilizing pets for different situations.

Why even make it craft-able if its just going to be account bound?

Take a step back for a sec and realize that if dyes become account bound that the demand for dyes will go down, dropping prices left and right.

How are people who craft dyes for sale suppose to make a living if people only by a dye once for all 5+ characters they own?

How about we make everything that’s craft-able account bound to compensate for the obvious punch in the face at cooking.

Where is the Quiver??

Most games don’t have quivers unfortunately. I wish more would have them though. It bothers me seeing a character pulling arrows out of their back.

I’ve played a lot of games, but I haven’t seen many that don’t feature a quiver for characters that use bows.

Would definitely be nice to see a quiver for bow users in GW2, and if they weren’t included because of clipping, well there are many, many pieces of armor and weapons that clip in this game – So there’s no excuse.
