Too bad TC is overcrowded, events are almost undo able.

This on Tarnished coast. Apparently the guild bounty npc is bugged, and this seems to prevent SB from popping. Been this way since last night best I can tell

Problem has been getting worse and worse, but when I try to sell items on the TP, the menu stays blank. When this happens, under items listed for sale on TP show up but I can’t buy, and a mouseover on the icon of the item doesn’t show it’s info.

Used to be logging totally out of the game and back in fixed it, now thats kind of hit an miss. Anyone else having this problem?

They should sync the dragon events so they all happen at the same time. That would force people to choose. People trying to get to another dragon after the easy one is dead would probably end up in an overflow and get screwed.

It would solve some problems, and annoy pretty much everyone. A win/win if you ask me. lol

Someone in game told me they heard it announced by devs on another website tonight. Anyone know if there is any truth to this? I’m doubtful they’d announce something like that off the official forums first

I’ve gotten some group invites at events from people who say you get better drops as a group.
Loot drops are what they are, being in a group doesn’t affect the quality or quantity

Would be nice to have that info available on the hero screen. It’d be embarrassing to join a du geon and fractal group, only to discover you can’t do it yet

Sometimes my Guardian is better off kiting a mob, scepter works great. Obviously a slower kill than with the greatsword, but all good

You can RP on any server. TC is very overcrowded at this point, events are next to Impossible to do, most of the time, whether events or in Lions Arch, you’ll be in overflow, and not the actual server.

What I found out is, if any of your crew are in combat when you are in the process of placing charges, you can only get/place 2 bombs…and have no objective or green star, so you’re kind of stuck. I made sure ALL the mobs were dead in the hold area, then got and places all 4 charges. Was able to finish

We ended up under rata sum, kind of. We landed in rocks by a lake, and found a building with a portal in it. We got into the building, and there was no gravity! We floated around and took some screen shots.

Tonight’s gonna be fun….the great plunge into the depths of rata sum. Fall to the depths, die, and be reborn

So I got through it successfully. None of my crew were in combat, and I was able to place all four charges and get to the top of the ship for extraction.

Happens to me all the time. Usually logging out and reloading game fixes it

Thanks…at least in my case, Maeva and the crew may have been in combat while I set the charges. I’ll try again and make sure all the mobs are dead and see what happens.

Wait, I thought Anet said the limit was one chest per toon per day from these events, and even if you, say, do teq, and an hour later guest elsewhere and do it again you still wouldn’t get a chest…that that one chest rule applies no matter what server

I have the same issue with this. Maeva stays in the lower part of the ship after I set the bombs, and there is no current objective under progress of the story…set bombs is checked, then nothing. I’ve tried leaving the ship and going to the submarine, nothing happens. Went back, all Maeva says is we’d better get off the ship.

What was odd is, she said we needed to set four charges in the hold. After I set two, she says all the bombs are placed and we’d better leave.

Past few days I and many look at the dragon timer for our server, and head to the area whichever dragon is due to pop at. Every time we go to overflow, so the timer for that server then means nothing. And no one is going to wait up to three hours for a dragon.

I know too many people are causing major lag, but this ain’t working either. We haven’t been able to kill a dragon in days. Increase capacity for dragon areas on the servers, even create instances and not overflows. Or…make dragons etc all pop the same time, on every server and overflow. That would also stop all the unnecessary guesting that’s causing people to jump server to server for events, and causing most of the lag

So I got my crew into the ark to blow it up and destroy the risen. We fought our way down to the hold, where researcher Maeva gave me the ghost fire explosives to set in the hold. At first she said four, but after I set two, she said the bombs were set and we’d better get off the ship. When we got to the top deck, Maeva stayed below, and there were no new objectives…a check was next to get to the arks hold, and one by place ghost fire charges, both were greyed out. And nothing. No green star, no idea what to do next.

I went back down to get Maeva but she wouldn’t follow, and only would say we’d better get off the ship. Tried swimming back to the sub, everything, but nada.

Maybe you don’t understand the definition of achievements. To achieve something does not necessarily mean doing what you enjoy.

This is a game. The whole point of a game is to enjoy it… To have fun

Roleplaying. It’s why I’d guest there (did guest there) but it was apparently off-hours so nobody was around for me to observe. And now I probably won’t guest over there and get lumped in with the “bad” guests :P

Some people apparently decided to use TC to RP, but its never officially been declared by Anet to be an RP server. You can RP on any server. And honestly, I’ve heard very little of it on TC.

The concept of guesting is fine, but just like you can’t transfer to a full server, you shouldn’t be able to guest when a certain population threshold is reached.

Or instance/overflow events at a certain point so the unplayable events on TC don’t happen. TC is just like any other server, same events etc, no reason for everyone to think there’s something special about it

Guesting is at least part of it on already heavily populated servers. But I think the dailies and dragon loot bring buttloads of people all to one place. Everyone needs events and other daily stuff, so it’s actually in some cases a competition to get all this done…when veterans are needed, there are so many people trying to get them that often they are dead before you can even hit them once.

Dragons are almost not doable, there are so may people, the lag is horrible. And at events, killing veterans is almost impossible, there are so many people most get killed before you can attack just once.

If a server like TC is heavily populated, shouldn’t guesting be locked? And shouldn’t there be overflows/instances like in LA when too many people are in an area?

Yup, I have. My connection is good, same issue only with gw on both my laptop and desktop

For the past few days I get frequent disconnects, and get booted to char select. My Internet connection is fine, good speed, ping etc, so it’s the game. And it’s getting worse every day, can’t even stay in game more than a few minutes at a time today

Also, lots of times when I fight, suddenly my attack button keeps firing and I can’t heal or much of anything else. On Tarnished Coast, which seems overcrowded…maybe the issue?

I assume that as well, but don’t know for sure. Someone else told me not all area events are considered group events, so…

Dailies are, and always have been a grind

Things on Tarnished Coast have been getting laggier and laggier lately. At normal yesterday everyone was complaining, it’s the worse I’ve ever seen. Many of us couldn’t get our heals to fire off or really do much of anything. Per map chat lots of folks are coming to TC to farm dragons etc…no idea why.

If true, then it seems too many people are the cause of the problem. Why is TC so popular that people are all coming here to guest?

I had/am having that problem, and more. Stayed on char select for five minutes till my toon showed up. I have now been staring at the lions arch loading screen for more than five minutes, and its is showing zero for my was, vistas and points of interest

Having lots of fun with the unions dungeon weekend. Thanks for the karma bonus yesterday, used that with my karma booster and the karma banner, chugged my karma jugs and vials and was able to get another part of my Melandru armor set

The scepter is by far the most useless weapon on a guardian, the staff at least has defensive usefulness. There is no situation I have come across where I would consider using a scepter over melee options. So, keep this in mind if you think you want to do ranged damage, because this is not really a viable option on a guardian.

I normally say this too, but I really like a scepter for long range attacks, then I switch it up to a greatsword when they get close

That’s exactly what I do. Scepter is a decent ranged weapon, and in some instances you are better off keeping your distance and killing….albeit more slowly than with a great sword…a mob without taking much damage.

Not actual kill stealing per se, but things like someone stealing aggro from a mob when you are trying to get your dodges in, or stealing a player or npc that you are trying to heal for the daily. It’s getting ugly out there.

IMO things shouldn’t be scaled any more than they are now. The point of being a high level is to be more powerful. You go back to areas you got killed in when you were lower level, you SHOULD be able to kill the mobs easily, not struggle like you did when you were low level. Otherwise what’s the point of levels?

I’ve noticed poor framerate and frequent disconnects past week, and not I have to restart my computer every time I play because it says its still running…even tho checking task manager, it isnt

I’ve been having a similar issue ever since the big patch for Flame and Frost. Although for me, using the task manager to exit the program doesn’t work. I always need to restart my computer. To even get anything to come up for the game before I restart, I have to run the game as an admin. When I do that, I always get a little pop-up box that says this:

“Already Running

Guild Wars 2 is unable to start because another copy is already running on this computer, or because the application has insufficient rights to successfully detect whether another copy is already running on this computer."

It’s getting very frustrating.

This has just started happening to me in the past few days, so it’s a new issue. I opened up task manager as well, and it isn’t running. I’ve tried right clicking on the program and selecting run as administrator….still happens. I shouldn’t have to reboot my computer very time I sit down to play.

Just in case there is a commonality with this issue, my os is vista 64 bit, and I always use chrome as my browser…..usually check stuff online before I play

I see events in every zone. Plus the three dragons, I am done with event dailies in less than an hour.

I was at 80% of veteran kills, running around with a bunch of folks doing events + veterans in Kessex hills. I stayed on 80% even as we kept repeating the events/veterans. I went elsewhere and killed a few veterans i hadn’t killed before and got my 100%.

Not sure, but it seems like I didn’t get credit for repeating the same veterans
