Is Pressing Dodge & 1 Better Than a Trinity?

I have a role. I am the hero. When everything goes wrong I will be there to finish it up.

You obviously haven’t been paying attention to the storylines. You are nothing but a flunky, easily replaceable. Especially at the end where they could’ve just gotten some random guard off the streets of Divinity’s Reach to man a cannon…

Seriously, most of the time you’re just there to run errands for Trehearne and a whiny clique straight out of a high school soap opera (Divinity’s Edge).

Yes, I was just a common man when I faced the Zhaitan. Now with the power of dodge, he wouldn’t stand a chance.

You can charge traps without aggroing the boss. Charge one trap, pull, attack and suicide (or just run away). Repeat as many times as needed.
He won’t heal much unless people intentionally keep attacking him while he is in ghost form (and I don’t think you deserve to win then).

3rd option: solo it.

To be honest, I really like the boss. If you think and try figure it out you can get it done very easily (prechage all traps).
If it didn’t reset people would just mindlessly suicide against it.

Arah? Challenging? Sure, keep thinking that. You don’t need coordinated teams to do dungeons. They are easy enough as is.

Arah is challenging for most people, I can solo it without using a single exploit. But if you want something harder, fractals 79, easy enough for you?

Which even further shows your point. Solo something and see how the game rewards you. Try challenge yourself and you literally get nothing.

Did all of this and got gold reward. I don’t even know what you are supposed to do during grenth, just kept moving out of red circles. Thank you anet for staff autoattack on guardian, allows to watch movies during those entertaining events.

Since I have also been bit forced to do these things I must concur. It makes zero difference what I do in the fight when the zerg gets big enough.

Try alt-tabbing when soloing any of the dungeon bosses (legit).

Mesmer gets kittened by locusts in P1 so it’s not very easy at all. Try to cleave them, they just murder your kitten .

I think the real question is, how to melee Lupi when pugs insist on kiting him outside of max range so he just keeps moving away and bubbling every other attack. Mesmer doesn’t have enough stability CDs to escape bubble that often. I don’t think anyone does.

Mesmer has Mantra of Concentration with two short Stabilities with fairly short cooldown. Then also Blurred Frenzy on Sword with really short cooldown and if you still have problems take also a Staff and use Phase Retreat.
And you still have skills like Blink and Distortion.

How is this fair?

Sure, it’s easy to spice things up. My point is that if you want to make it tough for good teams it will be brutal for pugs. I’m perfectly fine with that but just want to ensure some of you know what you are asking. Cleric-heal-spam-bots or pvt-tanks won’t suddenly become good or wanted, probably vice versa (teams can’t afford carrying them anymore).

Pretty much everything is already viable in PvE. It is just not required/needed. They can keep buffing stuff like healing or control but it won’t change a thing as long as nearly full offense works (faster clear times, faster rewards).
If they actually force us to use stuff like healing and control then casuals will get hurt. Good teams have plenty room for errors so they would really have to push the difficulty.

For example a boss which you have to interrupt every 30 seconds while keeping him slowed or you will wipe. Good teams can easily do it with some coordination. Pugs probably won’t have the tools and coordination to pull it off.

Could someone explain how leveling crafting to 500 is not a grind?

Grind is a state of mind. If you are doing something you enjoy, it feels less like a grind, no?

Sure, if you focus solely on getting to 500, forsaking doing things that you enjoy in the game, it’s going to feel like a grind. It’s going to feel like a job you hate.

So I have to visit a good shrink to enjoy this game.

Huh? Where did I say / imply that?

If there’s nothing you enjoy in the game, why play it?

Ooh, you actually meant a mind trick. I don’t think I can afford a Jedi with my salary.

Just a word of warning. If PvE actually starts to require something you guys are getting hurt, not the speedrunners.

This. You may find you regret asking for change whereas the speedrunners may turn out to be the winners here because we get more challenging content which we can still clear quicker than casual players (more fun).

I am not against speedrunners, as Shadow Puppet pointed out. I would just like the strategies for this to be more diverse.

Ideally the content would be rewarding clever thinking for both speedclearers and non-speedclearers alike. Ofcourse the true speedclearers would be much more succesful at it, but that is all part of the game.

I doubt you can please both groups. I think putting every AC exp end boss to same room would be a nice challenge. Just imagine average pug there.

At the moment game is easy enough that actually pretty much everything is viable. I fully support the idea of making game more harder and require better tactics and gameplay. But I don’t think it will be good for an average player.

Wethospu.6437

The only thing useless is a closed mind. After a year of playing, I still don’t get the mentality of Zerker or nothing.

Ascended was created to give us something to spend our time on. Thus, the boxes are working perfectly because you’ll have to keep going to get the stats you want. Heck, if I was dev, I would put the drop rate of Zerker to 10% or less. This would be to take up players time longer and to encourage them to try other builds.

I really hate elitist people like you. Let people play how they want!

There’s only a 8 seconds difference between your group best non-fgs kill and the best fgs kill.

( edited, looked at wrong video. )

Videos with 13 and 21 seconds? Lupicus is 5 seconds invulnerable which reduces time to 8 and 16 seconds which is already twice as fast meaning 100% more damage. Then if you remove effect of Feedback (let’s say 3 seconds) it becomes 5 and 13 seconds. which is 160% more damage.

At least I find that bit ridiculous.

Fiery Rush is fine how it is. Using examples of the extremes in the most ideal situations is hardly a compelling argument to claim a skill is too overpowered to be allowed. not to mention in the actual time it takes for this damage to be applied, burst builds can probably achieve their own 6 digit numbers.

Is using a skill against a wall, being immobilized or using a teleport considered an extreme situation? Because other mechanics like Might-stacking and Vulnerability apply similarly to other skills.
Just playing the game shows how Fiery Rush allows you to instantly melt stuff like Lupicus. But I’m sure you like your Elementalist and want to keep it that way.

Even if this skill was used in PvP to any kind of effect beyond MAYBE the occasional lone golem kill on a gate, the ease of it to be avoided is laughable considering all the damage is on a spot the size of one person.

I’m not aware of any PvP dungeons so I don’t see how this is relevant on a dungeon forum.

That said, it IS an elite skill after all. From my understanding these skills are supposed to be an ace card only available to you for a short time. God forbid Ele’s actually have something they can contribute that’s well respected in this area.

Elite skills can also be overpowered.

So basically the timers UI are bugged/ not up to date for how chilled works? Behind the scenes your skills recharge slower?

Does this apply to auto-attacks as wel?

Actual cooldown is not touched, it just decreases slower while you are Chilled.

I don’t know how it works with skill 1.

It lowers the recharge rate of your cooldowns so that skill with X seconds of cooldown takes 1.66*X seconds to recharge.
In other words it makes yours skills recharge 39.75% slower (1 – 1/1.66). Shown number stays same, just gets decreased slower.

And this also works in PvE.
