Those glorious days in WvW where we actually lost money playing instead of gaining. But it was all new and great fun.
I have just started using my condition based, grenade Engineer in WvW.And he has rapidly become my most deadly character. And most fun.
He can clean walls of an enemy tower so friendlies below can get on with their job.I have killed so many this way.
I used him to cap a camp solo for the first time last night.I and another played who turned up as I had just killed them all was surprised how quickly I did it.
A group of 10-20 enemies jumped into a tower just after we capped. They bunched down on the ramp.I spammed a grenade rainstorm upon their heads, for the friendlies rushing ahead of me just had to do the finishing moves upon them.
In big battles I rocket boot to the back of them and grenade them from the middle to the rear.So when the main friendly force steam into the enemy have been softened up.
Flying off cliffs in WvW in those rocket boots are entertainment all by themselves.
A lot of us on Desolation BL WvW were commenting on the lag tonight. And there wasn’t much going on.No huge blobs at the time as we had the map on lock down and only about 20-30 of us.
“We are aware of the problem and are looking into it.”
I love when it hits, it feels like you have the whole map on your shoulders.
@nemeth.4196 8/10 you look like you have seen one too many wars. ;p
I made Tu Funneh a cutesy so when she turns into a Lich it would be more shocking.
I have gone for a mix and match.I did not want him looking all fancy.More work man like.
My spawn point was in the Penitent path Cursed Shore before going back into WvW. And the attack was on the camp. When I used to do this we had 10-20 players.Well I looked and there was 40.
I feel sorry for anyone who actually wants to enjoy a fight, rather than just stand amongst invisible players attacking invisible Risen. And for it being over before you even knew it begun.
We actually had half the number of players on Eternal BG WvW when I joined than what I saw zerging in Cursed Shore.
Running to get supply from a depot in WvW,forgetting our server colour has changed. And only realising my mistake when all the npc’s jump me.
It is like, dum,de,dum,de darr, lets get some supply to start off the day.Tra,la,la,la,la….oh kittens.
a Greatsword swing
I feel sorry that people are forced into WvW for the above reasons. But those of us who take WvW seriously hope while you are there you fight for the cause. And maybe we can lead you to the place you want to go as reward.
I bumped into one of these zergs on Cursed Shore, farming Champ minions. All I could see was 30+ player name tags. And the odd explosion of them attacking invisible enemies.
I’d rather watch paint dry, so I moved on.
The tag untagged.
Pick your first few battles wisely.A new commander who takes their troops into no win situations and defeat will soon be running around alone.I have seen that happen way to often.
Once you have a few victories under your belt with them, they will be more likely to stick around longer during the tougher battles. You need to earn those players respect by showing them that you know what you are doing.
Do not rage quit after a loss. When a commander does that,I do not feel I want to rush in by their side with as much gusto as I did before they did that.
Always leave on a victory and not a loss.Leave feeling good.
I was looking on the online WvW map of my old server Gunnars Hold. And they had zero points coming in at 2 am.They did not own a single camp. Aba’s Mouth must have gobbled everything up night capping.
The same as Viz did at the end of last round match up, with panic night capping to retain their no1 spot over Seafarers.
Friday nights is the only night I do not enter WvW on Desolation. But I’d like to know where all those players go for the rest of the week.Or do they think WvW is a one night stand?
You know what I cannot understand about being outnumbered, is when you do a suicide run into the enemy. And look back and see the other 9 players who charged with you are suddenly running away. You don’t have to pay for armour repairs so what are they afraid of?
in a puddle……..
Guardian Sylvari 80,Warrior Norn 80,Ranger Human 80,Charr Engi 80,Necro Asura 80,
Thief Charr 80.
Ele Human 80 deleted as GM trait book would not unlock sadly.[Tried one from every city].
Need to put loud speakers on all walls. The only way to turn the Viz blob back. Though whether they will be able to hear it from treb range is another matter.
I have not had one badge of honor drop since the fix for the loot nerf. Probably killed over 200 players since then. Not that it really bothers me as i have thousands, just adding to the above reports. Getting a heck of a lot of blues though.
MESMER FTW! Screwing with some ones mind. There is nothing like it.
You are right there, they screw my mind worse than thieves. I was pulled off a tower roof while trebbing the enemy. That cut deep and opened up a whole new world of hate. How the heck they have that range beats me.
You’ve made a classic mistake in not rolling an Ele. So, my advice is delete your other, clearly worthless characters and roll up a real winning class, elementalist. Then we’ll see you on the battlefield. :P
I had to delete my lv 80 Ele when the GM trait book would not unlock.I tried everything, bought one from every city. Alas it was not to be. RIP whatever your name was.
“I got jugs they’re multiplying,and I’m losing control.”
Movie Grease 1978.
Anet,make it so.
I took my Engi out for an extended run with grenades yesterday. And had an amazing amount of fun rocket booting around the battlefield, dropping grenades here and there amongst the Viz zerg.
Viz had knocked Bay south gate open and 30 of them would not rush through due to my grenade spam.Though it was probably them not used to having so few players in their zerg, and didn’t know how to handle the situation ;p .
What next WvW mini games? Toss the cannon ball.
There will be a big crater, a hole blocked with hair. And a plastic plug and chain.
Just take them all in and see which one you have the most success and fun with.
I have Necro,Warrior,Guardian,Thief,Ranger,Engineer. And enjoy my Necro and Ranger the most.
Rubber weapons can only solve your pain.
I enjoy the melting,it cleanses the soul.
It is funny, but mine and another Necro just obliterated two thieves a few minutes ago. They just melted to AOE’s. So sweet payback.
Let us know what you do and how things work out.
Treb wars,no need for anything else, then Golem trait, flying Golems with heli rotor blades on the head.
We can just sit in the citadel, and watch the treb, golem wars unfold while drinking tea and eating muffin.
Going alone together with little pvp experience, you are playing right into a thief’s plans.
Stick to a larger group and hope they are going in the direction you want to go.
Do not feel to bad about your experience.I was once moving with 5 other players deep in enemy lands, when two Guild thieves struck.I was the only one left standing in a blink of an eye.My Necro managed to escape through Death Shroud.
“Nuts” shouted Trahearne
licked their yams
and broke wind……….
I am guessing someone died a lot and did not like it.
I am starting to enjoy playing off peak for the smaller battles.I would say max 20 v 20 can still feel like a battle where you can use your brain and have fun.But anything much bigger than that you might as well be a bot going through the motions.
5. Desolation 70 958
1. Vizunah Square 77 177
2. Seafarer’s Rest 91 433
Where did all those Deso players go when things were going well? The same names were there during the stomping days of pain from Viz.Then a 3 week 1st place streak and you had to wait to get on to fight for Deso.Viz and Sea are back and it is a ghost town again, with only the regulars turning up.
Congrats to Seafarers in handing it to Viz at the moment though.
Completely agree. More of these type of events popping in open world. We have to get the people back out there.
Well looking at some of the match ups.Would you rather spend your time getting stomped by impossible numbers 24/7. Or go to the Crown Pavilion, and sink neck deep into an endless supply of loot never seen before in GW2?
It is early days yet for Deso but we made a good start.
5. Desolation 9 378
1. Vizunah Square 8 286
2. Seafarer’s Rest 8 321
The loot is back from the last build.Stuff is dropping as it was.
Let me all present FoW and vabbi for you guys, shall i?
Wow,that is pretty sad to see.But can you blame them not bothering.
I use Lich Form on my Necro that just hit Legend rank.I could not care what other people think.I go with what is best for my play style and what gives me the biggest smile. If it wasn’t working I’d drop it in a heartbeat of course.
But I have stormed in under Deathshroud then nuke em with my Lich while 10 lines deep into their zerg,I have broken too many zerg’s with that thing for it to be just luck. And the funny thing is,I was the only one using it.Now I am seeing more friendly and opposition use Lich.
I think some EU Desolation commanders have seen my Lich deep in the heart of the enemy and used it as a focal point, and to make players push harder to that position.
But we have been doing so well on Desolation lately, I don’t even have to pull out an Elite anymore, the enemy zerg is either dead or scattered while I am still in Life Transfer in my Death Shroud. ;p
I see a blob I find a nice rock to hide under until my skills start to work again.
Otherwise it is take damage, why you no heal?
Why you no do anything?
Why you slowmo?
When three blobs collide in a Lords room.
Why smoke come out of pc?
The best looking EU match up so far this week.
Score as of this minute.
15.Far Shiverpeaks 80 401
18.Fort Ranik 83 535
20. Ruins of Surmia 78 575
26.Fissure of Woe 137 315
25.Whiteside Ridge 50 241
27.Vabbi 49 668
So why is a 26th rank stomping so bad on a 25th and 27th?
