Talk about not seeing the wood for the trees.
The colour tags should be open to all WvW commanders who have a tag.So they can switch to form a group to do something other than what the main commander blue tag is doing.
This is just a desperate money grab if you ask me.
As the Joker once said,“Why so selfish?”
Props to ANET for throwing a bone to PvP and hopefully WvW directions. As mainly a WvW player I just get on with the meagre offerings we get.And do not get jealous over what anyone else is getting.
Don’t die.Be last one standing at least.
Nothing can turn those following off quicker than a tag that keeps dying.
We had one the other day who went down in front of a tower to two guards and two enemy scouts. We got the com up.Took the gate down, and the com died to ac and treb as we went in.
No one went near that com again, and that was the end of that.
I have ever laughed at the enemy once a long time a go. When 5 of us were defending a tower with no siege up. The enemy of 20-30 turned up,could have wiped us in 5 minutes with rams. Decide to build a treb to the north. [Insert laugh at them].
Before they did much damage we had people coming from Citadel to wipe them out.
Haven’t brought my Necro into WvW for awhile.Oh wait.
Okay fair play then.
Candy Fluxx was the most respected Com I ever ran behind on Deso, those were the days.
I just thought it strange Ins was throwing stones at Deso . It was a lot of fun when he was here, and will be a lot of fun facing who he leads now no doubt. No need for the mud slinging.
Have some respect, and show some class for one another. We are all here because we love WvW no matter what side we are on. Let the pain bleed out on the fields of battle.
I pretty much leveled up my alt warrior commanding against Deso. If I can fight and command on upleveled warrior and kill Deso blobs then yea, Deso will find any excuse for their losses. Haha
Mud slinging against your former server already? Class.
Yeah they’ve replaced them with empty circles you stand in and wait.
Nobody even bothers with that anymore.
You have to remember we have had a lot of people come and go on Deso. Nothing stays the same.
Always happy to explain and show the ropes to new players.
Nice work, plenty cake for all.If I see you all on I’ll jump in behind for a few slices.
A PvP mega server would breathe new life into the game for me.Though there would have to be factions or it would be sheer chaos.
Welcome, see you on the field of battle for cake, blood, and more cake.
You can also come join Deso and help add more salt to the axe wounds that some players clearly seem to have in large degree.
I don’t play peak times, and only Borderland maps unless it is truly dead there,so i hardly even see a blob, and do not enjoy being part of one. Like I said, you can find whatever fight you are looking for on Deso, large or small scale.
I moved from Gunnars Hold some months after launch to Deso, and have been here ever since. It has been an amazing ride of ups and downs, some amazing victiories when all seemed lost. And some great characters that have come and gone. You can find whatever type of fight you are looking for on any of the maps.
I’d rather stop playing than go anywhere else.
I have not done 1 jumping puzzle, hate them due to the way the camera works. Managed to complete this all without 1 single death. And no real problems.Yes,the camera is still kitten but that isn’t going to change.
Wasn’t really into S1 mainly being a WvWer.But this entertained me.
Must be good, almost 9pm and haven’t cooked dinner. ;p
Great job Anet. Bows deeply.
Oh and downed nasty, hungry champ woohoo. And laughed as many jumped to their death off a cliff in heavy sandstorm.
Desolation EU login screen hanging on connection.
Russian bears,bare Russians.
Versatility for me.I have every class except Mesmer. And Necro has become my main in WvW for a long, long time.My other classes mainly stay the same in WvW.But my Necro changes from one situation to another.
Congratz, was more fun for me than season 1 in silver league.
You are only as strong as those you fight. Thanks for the epic battles.
Wouldn’t run with anyone else but Deso. The added pressure from SFR & BB made it more rewarding in the end, even if it was hair pulling at the time.
Thanks to all who went above and beyond for the name of Desolation.
Signed Tu Funneh, Beau Sharr.
Being outnumbered or outnumbering the opposition,is equally boring and frustrating.
Having easy wins makes you weaker by getting complacent.
That’s why I like Deso so much.We have always bit at the ankles of the big boys, and stood our ground. And even won some battles we had no chance of winning. The struggle has always been real and rewarding.
As mainly a WvW player now,I do not care for rewards.I do not care for achievements. And I do not care for pve content.I wish WvW was its own game.To be loved by its own dev’s.
But it is what it is.
Deso goes from lows to highs depending on what time it is.Go on during the day on any borderland [not Eternal] and you have 10 Deso players running around trying to recap what the JS or SFR zerg has grabbed. Take a look at the map gone midnight GMT and Deso has the highest tick by a clear 100.
Whether you are that night crew,or the few facing impossible odds during the day.You have all done an incredible job. Charging into 3 times the number vs Viz back in the day has served us well v SFR now.
I wouldn’t mind some Deso support right now.The maps are empty.SFR turns up we pack up and leave town. What happened to putting up a fight till the end like in the old days, even when Viz outnumbered us 50 to 1 we kept coming back for more.
Sad to see what Deso has become.
I do not know how we are doing it on Deso, other than peak hours, our forces on the borderlands are sparse and without a commander. We have a few guilds that pop in from time to time. But it is a big drop in numbers from season 1 as far as i have seen.
And before season 1 we lost most of our major guilds.
My young Ele’ eating a hot curry for the first time.
Some nice ideas there Cattivo.
This afternoon on Gandara BL, we had a 20 v 20 [no GvG] fight north of their tower, west of their Citadel.Gandara kept coming at us in open field. Battles on the mounds around the sentry and in the road.
It was the most fun battles I have had in a long time.Just to see two groups moving around and clashing without siege. The chaos of the battle as it splits into smaller areas of conflict on all sides. And for it to last so long, rather than a bat of the eye and it is all over.
We need more of this.Too often WvW is just wall combat.
I spawned in on Deso BL today and everyone was either in Citadel or the Garrison while Gandara ran around capturing the map.
I got a little angry while I was out recapping camps and towers.I said people have got so used to zerging they don’t know what to do when there isn’t one.
Someone replied, there is not much we can do if there is no zerg.
We were not outnumbered.
All became obvious later when a commander did turn up.They all melted infront of a Gandara charge.I went to another map.
Guess these peeps weren’t around when we faced Vizunah Square.
Welcome OP,you may see my Necro, Tu Funneh trying to be funny in map chat. And trying to lift spirits when they are down.Deso WvWers are a fun bunch for sure. And we lost a lot of great people before season 1.But we have rebuilt well, and the foundation is strong.
If you do play warrior make sure you have something to keep your eyelids open during battles. With all the cries of OP,I decided to take my warrior out in WvW.I dropped off after the 3rd battle, and was still killing people with my sleeping head on the keyboard.
I went back to my most used Necro the day after that.As with any game,it is what brings the most fun to me.
I have 6 level 80’s,my Necro is about 100 ranks higher than any other of my characters in WvW. I just love the play style compared to the other classes.I am more of a support to the group, and finish of the weakening enemy crowd.
Or my Necro can lead the charge put on the hurt, and pull back for everyone else to finish off.
I thought it was just me.Targeting is a kitten joke now.I have to click on target it is so bad.
For instance,I did not target an enemy infront of me,but one on a lower floor with a wall of rock between. The most frustrating thing for me in game at moment.Do they test this stuff out before making us swallow it?
I am like a Charr to LS. I arrive, sniff the air, then move on out of lack of interest.
It just doesn’t grab me like a more solid deeper expansion would.
I said to someone, LS is like picking up a magazine in a waiting room. You skim through it then throw it back on the pile with the others.
My Guardian, Sticky Sap, has a lot going on in the looks department.
I had a lot of fun with Ele’,more than I thought I would. But had to delete her at level 80,as the Grand Master trait book was bugged and would never unlock.
I gave up on the Mesmer at level 10,just did not fit my play style.
Of all my time playing WvW,I don’t think I have ever seen a Charr Ranger.
Here is my Charr Thief .
I do not even bother to get in on peak for the first 3 days after reset anymore. It would be more frustrating if those who are in were failing badly though.
If an enemy waves at me,I’ll cut the hand off.
I play WvW to kill enemy players and capture/defend buildings.I did not sign a contract to play one way or another. If I see a 1 v 1 I will kill the enemy player unless my ally tells me to stop in chat. If you want to duel go find an out of the way place to do it.
We are all sharks in the water,if we smell blood we feed with a frenzy and do not stop to think if it is right or wrong.
