Hate to go against the grain,but EU Desolation are looking at their 3rd week of a fun match up.This time with Kodash and Miller’s Sound.

And congrats to Deso on two straight 1st place finishes.

Thieves tend to come out in the quiet hours.less people on,when there are many more roamers about to backstab from what I have noticed.

You are walking down the road and see a damaged garden gate,so get your hammer out to fix.

So I go from Legend to Bronze Invader.Sounds like a downgrade, the social elite will not favour me any longer.

The first time I saw all that fluff flying out of the gate,I thought a horde of enemy golems were on the other side.

I started out playing WvW and personal story at launch.And then left WvW for many months, and came back to WvW since the last major update and loving WvW again.

I do not focus on the big picture,but the battles we experience.Or even just being part of a dedicated, low rewarded part of the GW2 community, and helping out anyway I can.

What I can do with my Necro right now makes me smile from ear to ear.

We had three epic battles on Deso bl last night. Piken blob in Garri Lords,and AM blob at watergate at the same time.How we came out as still owning our garrison I do not know.

And then fighting back an AM blob twice, three times our size at Bay keep.The first time they had managed to get their blob into Bay and were capping.But we kept running in over and over again to harrass amongst a sea of red rings,and finally managed to push them all the way back to south gate.They tried again but the first loss must have done something to their morale because they broke pretty quickly.

Another horrible matchup this week… Desolation, Piken Square and Kodash.

Desolation with 2x the numbers of both Kodash and Piken Square, not to mention them having usually 80-90% of all the borderlands. Fair? I think not.

I don’t know what has happened to Kodash they seem to be a shadow of their former self.Piken can come in and swarm Deso BL when they want to.

Deso has had some serious WvW player shortage and things have only picked up the last few weeks.

We have had some really enjoyable battles with Piken.The best I can remember.Just tonight we managed to hold Bay keep from constant Kodash and Picken attacks,with nurmerous outer gates down,and the northern inner wall wide open.Both took turns rushing in,almost like they had joined forces.But we still won.We did not outnumber them by any means,we just had prepared a lot of siege.

Really enjoyed facing Piken Square on Desolation BL last night.I actually had to switch on my brain after so many weeks of facing Vizunah. Salute to the Golden Horde Guild who were absolutely relentless with their attack and tactics.

Desolation finally have a decent match up it seems with Piken & Kodash.

I would just like to congratulate Desolation Commanders and players for the control of our own borderland at least, vs No1 Vizunah Square this week.We cannot cover all maps at once like them.But it has been amazing to see what we have finally managed to bring to the table of defense of our own homeland.

Usually it has been step outside the citadel and watch our two enemies fight each other under our own noises.Which sends players to the exit or to stand motionless not knowing which direction to go in.

We even managed to hold our own garrison for a few whole days,which forced Viz to bring in a 40 player zerg at 1.25am to finally claim it, while we had a skeleton force patrolling down south.Classy.

Once you can get out of the downward spiral of being steamrolled every week,your server can hopefully gain confidence and start to build in number.We cannot win the War vs a server like Viz,but we can bloody their noses when we stand toe to toe with them.

Lets just hope we can continue to build on this week with a different match up which hopefully for once doesn’t include Viz.

I would like to say thanks to all the WvW players who do the thankless task of refreshing siege,repairing walls & gates,scouting and upgrading buildings,building siege etc etc day after day.

It shows how much you love WvW and deserve a title to show your dedication to your servers cause.

We know a lot of people only waltz in to get the kills and glory and then log off without a care of anything else.But to those above, you are all part of the success.I salute you for your efforts.And take pleasure to help you out when ever I can.

Desolation match up=week 24 Vizunah Square. Week 25 Vizunah Square. Week 27 Vizunah Square. Week 28 Vizunah Square. Come on peeps this is getting boring.

Thanks Octaeder I read all that.Seems to be all sorted now, fingers crossed.Hopefully things will be smoother once Sky take over or we migrate elsewhere.

So to update my post from above,I went on WvW Desolation BL at 5 am GMT to check how things were when hardly no people were on.And the few players I did see were teleporting back and forth.And even the two players in Queensdale PvE were teleporting, along with skill lag.

Sunday night at peak,with large zergs fighting,it was running normal again.

Funny a lot of us UK people suffering this are with O2,and O2 have sold out to Sky.I am not pointing the finger in any direction to blame.Just scratching my head in confusion.

Same as Ramirez above, terrible lag and rubber banding in WvW the last few days.
WvW is becoming completely unplayable.I had no problems when two zergs met.
Now running with only 20 players they teleport back and forth.A small battle becomes a slide show.

Nice to know it is not just me suffering this.

The last few days I have been getting serious rubber banding in WvW. My internet speed and pc is the same when it ran fine even when two massive zergs met. Now it is unplayable with even small battles.

Going through building portals in WvW is like trying to break through a wall.All the players are flickering back and forth.

I am in the UK .I am at a loss what is going on.

I am usually coloured red in Desolation WvW, as another Tier 1 opponent runs over my face.But whatever lifts the spirits has to be a good thing for us.

If you only have one zerg and nothing else watch your entire map turn into enemy colours.Your intel is coming from many eyes from only one position.

You need a mix,large,squad,and single scouts on the map.

I don’t know why I keep calling them Viz?Maybe that is what the sound that is in my brain when I see them.

I have never seen the outmanned symbol so much on Deso BL.Pretty sad to see as I have just got back into WvW after the last major update and have had plenty of fun where the losing wasn’t so bad as it has been this week.

Two options,grin and bare it,or go do something else.Seems like most have taken the sensible second option.

Maybe there should be an npc reinforcement option ;p.

Desolation is a WvW ghost town this week even at peak.We do not even have time to build any siege in a tower or our own garrison before it is taken again.Only the most hardened commanders can only swallow it for so long before backing out.

Vis is probably as bored of these two weeks as Desolation is frustrated.

Two weeks for EU Desolation vs Viz has turned the three Borderland maps into ghost towns for our players even at peak.On our home Borderland we step out of our Citadel to watch Viz and BB fight over our towers.

Any new WvW players who join and see what is going on will probably never return for us. I do not mind losing that is all we do,it is just having any chance at all when you set foot outside your own Citadel.

I use my Necro as a Lich zerg breaker.I time my runs just right in spectral armour and walk,lay down all my aoe’s, and just crash in through an enemy zerg in Lich form.If the rest of our players are following behind they benefit from the chaos I am causing.And I sweep in and out,and finish up in death shroud around the edges draining life force.

9 times out of 10 I have sent zergs running with a good push of players behind me.Even if I die it is an adrenalin surge steaming in,and watch my corpse get surrounded by loot bags.Also helps being a pink haired fluffy Asura,turning into a 20 foot Lich.

Anyone playing on EU Desolation lately can vouch for this.

Last night we managed to hold Longview tower on EU Desolation Borderlands for around 30 minutes and about 5 attacks from the Viz zerg of about 40-50.

Just me and another on 2 trebuchets and 2 arrowcarts and few other players on the walls.The red wave of names crashed up against the east and west walls.And were beaten back by flaming rock and rotting cows again and again.

They even erected their own treb on the horizon after the 3rd attack failed.I managed to down that with my fourth shot of my treb.But alas my treb collapsed.The player on the other treb let me jump on his and I continued on with more rotting cows to the face.

A new treb was built and manned next to mine.But the wall to the west collapsed with some tight to the wall catapults.The Viz poured in like a sea of red names with only us two trebbers to launch our last shots into their masses.

My treb finally destroyed from the champ tower full of Viz,I jumped down and ran up the side wall stairs,and once again brought pain in Lich form as they waited there.

And there my Necro Tu Funneh laid her cold dying head at their feet.For the bards to sing of this day.Of a few brave Deso warriors who held against the horde for so long.

I have played WvW since launch,and this is the most memorable experience so far.

But please Anet facing Viz teir 1 two weeks in a row will just turn more players away from WvW on EU Desolation.

I took my Necro into WvW to get some fast karma,now I am addicted like when I was back at launch.Turning from a two foot tall cute pink haired Asura,to a 20 foot Lich in the middle of an enemy zerg is so much fun.And if everyone has followed me in,9 times out of 10 the enemy zerg breaks and flees.It has happened too many times now for it just to be luck.

And to know that I helped turn the tide is more rewarding than all the loot bags at my feet.

The killer,if it moves I kill it.If it does not move I kill it.Anything that is in my line of destruction I will do.But I will not go out of my way to do it,my weapons are forever hungry.

A whip for my Necro’,yes please.My Minions will wish they had never been summoned. Muwhahaha.

You can see all the players again in PVE.Had to go on an overflow server for Southsun.[Say what now]. Karka’s are not as scary as what I remember the last time we went to war with them.We laid waste to them.5-10 of us took down the Champion Karka guarding the Ori ore.Came across new tents.

I bought mine in Lions Arch and the first time I have got this bug out of all my characters.Just get a grinding sound when clicking on the GM Manual for my Ele’,traits do not reset.Even sold the original and bought another manual to test.Still does not work, at level 63 now.

I left my dead server,joined a busy server.Left a dead guild behind,helped out a couple of players on new server.Got a guild invite,did more with them in one night than I did in two months with old guild that had 150 [10 active]members.

Great fun.

I noticed the ori node to the left side of the main bridge has disappeared today.

Should make Southsun a fishing resort if they ever implement fishing.And maybe have a Karka zoo & circus.An Asura ringmaster.

It is your decision to buy gems.No one forces you.The gems pay for the extras you get for them.

Lost Shore is free.The hours I have put in and the content in the game covers what I have paid 10x over I feel.I guess alot of people here complaining about the content do not play singleplayer games and just MMO’s.The content of sp games sometimes does not last 8 hours gameplay.And you have to pay for the smallest of dlc content.

Anything we get free is a bonus to me.

It was strange that the opening event was freeze frame for me.Where as phase three with much more going on,and three times as many players around me as phase 1 was a much smoother ride.It did have its moments,but at least I could move and my skills & weapons activated straight after i pressed the keys.

Obviously you don’t play other games that leave content out of release like this and make you pay for it as dlc.

I have played lots of games over a long period of time.And I have gotten my moneys worth 10x over from GW2 compared to most of them.These free events are a bonus whether you like them or not.

Funnily enough someone said that in chat during the battle.I could have done with a laser rifle.

I was naked when I opened that chest.

There are also three large Karka vets outside Pride waypoint who are invunerable.They haven’t been their before.

Just the Lion and Pride waypoints remain on the map for me the others have disappeared.

Looking at the crystal clear blue water,would be a nice place to fish.

The biggest Karka’s & vets drop the least of all.How crazy is that?I just go for the young ones unless a large one sticks his wet mouth in the way.

Just been running around for ore and wood.And hitting young karka’s.Certainly needs ramping up for rewards and events when it becomes a proper 80 zone.

It is okay for a change of scenery.The weird thing for me the young Karka’s drop loot way more than the vets.I got one copper from a champ Karka lol.

I love the barrel role of the vet Karka’s,your eyes widen when you see a path of dead players fall before you.

We were happily fighting that Reef Drake champ when 8 standard Reef Drakes piled in on our flank.Considering there were only 5 of us,we did not stand a chance.

Do not know if that was supposed to happen or we just lucked out.

Having run through the place a third time.I was more impressed after seeing the new zone in daylight.To me it is more like somewhere to make a whirlwind node gathering visit,rather than make home if it doesn’t open up any more.

So after holding up at the ship to eat after the first zerg rush of excitement with 50 players in the new zone.I went around the whole island a second time to collect what nodes I missed and bumped into 5 other players in total.Everyone already upped and left already?

I had freeze frame yesterday but was ok today.There wasn’t that much happening tonight like yesterdays opening event to cause the lag really.

Had a small fight by the fort.The npc’s bugged out and went invisible.We all waited by the treb and jumped on the boat when the message came.That was it before we hit Lost Shore.

Rather that than what we went through yesterday.

The event was a way of opening up the new zone to everyone.
