Okay, thought I’ll never need this, but after completing a fractal boss we need the Ready up to have a timer. Fractals already has one of the worst loot/gold to time ratio, we don’t need an afk person to extend the timer anymore than necessary. Please put a timer up instead of making everyone click to be able to move on. I also find it weird that it only takes 3 people to go back to Dessa’s lab but we need 5 people to move on.
That group I was in had to kick the person because he actually went afk mid way through the fight so we had to wait or kick him. Kicking him is not a solution because if he was the person that opened the instance we’ll all be kicked out. That is a whole new problem in itself. Pretty sure this forum has been waiting for that to be fixed as well.
I’m getting off track here but I’ll post a few things people forgot to mention again.
1. When the instance opener ragequit/leave the party make it so it doesn’t kick the rest of the party out of the dungeon.
2. Have more than 3 or more people to agree before kicking someone from the party.
3. Give an incentive for people to do dungeon paths that have little activity, cof p3, se p2, ta new aether path, cm p2 (heard the barrels don’t work anymore), and arah I’ll leave blank because I haven’t gotten to doing them yet.
You might want to put the fractal level you were doing. People don’t leave at the end when they’re farming relics, because that’s where most of the relics are obtained. Like some people said above, doing fractals longer than an hour means the group is either inexperienced or bad at the mechanics.
The hall of monuments legacy weapon skins that we get from guildwars 1, some of the picture icons in the inventory doesn’t transmute along with the legacy weapon skin icon. They change into a generic version instead of the cool looking legacy skin. This makes it a bit annoying to swap weapons faster out of combat because I don’t know if it’s my weapon or one of the trash items from loot.
I checked a majority of the legacy weapon skins to see if they got transmuted properly (the weapon icon in your inventory/hero panel) or not:
Icon transmuted properly:
torch – flaming beacon
sword – fiery dragon sword
staff – gnarled walking staff
axe – stygian axe
sceptor – wayward wand sceptor
warhorn – mountaincall warhorn
shortbow – living shortbow
shield – diamond aegis shield
pistol – seathunder pistol
mace – deldrimor mace
hammer – icebreaker
Icon transmuted into generic version (please fix):
dagger – centurions claw
greatsword – fellblade
focus – chimeric prism focus
longbow – ithas longbow
rifle – wheelock rifle
Please fix this, many thanks.

Okay, so I was playing path one of honor of the waves tonight. Again I couldn’t use my skills after I was revive this time by my group. Re-equiping my weapons didn’t make my skills work. Going into death shroud didn’t help this time either. I had to purposely get downed to get my teammate to revive me in order to be able to use my skills.
While mapping for my 100% completion, all of a sudden my skills don’t work anymore. I ran around for a few minutes and couldn’t hit anything, my attack animation was not showing. I can interact with npcs, but I can’t use my weapon/utility skills. I’m playing as a necromancer.
I decided to use my death shroud skills and that fixed this game bug.
I didn’t have autoattack option on.
I’ve done a bunch of fractal of the mist dungeons and obtained a bunch of ascended rings I have no use for. I would love to be able to salvage these ascended rings to ectos/dark matter since they’re higher tier than exotics. At least with exotics we don’t need we could at least get something useful from them.
Could we also have the option of trading these ascended rings for some fractal relics and laurels too? That would increase the people doing this special dungeon. I feel people learn the mechanics of the game better through doing fractals. It require lots of thinking to keep your character alive while doing the run in a timely speed.
For fractal skins that drop. It would be great to trade them in for an exchange item to get another fractal skin of your choice. If you don’t get the fractal skin you wanted you could at least exchange it for something else. This makes t so that any fractal skin drop is useful.
Okay, so I experienced this a few times already for jumping down an area too fast. For example, lets say the top is 100 ft (if you jump down from this height you’ll die) and from the top to the bottom there’s a safe area around 50 ft where you can land on (jumping from the 50 ft height to the bottom will not kill you). What happen to me was that I jumped to the 50 ft then quickly jump down to the ground, the game doesn’t register that I landed, so I end up getting killed like i jumped from the 100 ft when I didn’t.
Was it intended for us to jump down slowly or is this a bug?
You know there’s a LFG tool ingame, right?
If they read this sub-forum, they’ve heard all this before and have obviously made their decision one way or the other. If they don’t, they can’t read this post.
Basically you’re kind of Preaching to the Choir
You know what? You’re actually right, but it’ll be great if people that didn’t know about it glanced through and improved a bit.
And where is this thread going?
This guy. Get out of my mind.
The main point of this thread is for those people that join dungeon groups and do the weirdest things with their builds.
1. They bring way too much support that it’s becomes a group of 4 people doing damage.
2. They have way too much damage but the key thing is that they are unable to keep themselves from downed/dying due to lack of skill. I, personally, would rather have someone do good damage and not dying than someone always downed and needing help.
3. I ran across this term once and it stuck to me, “Leeroys”. There are good ones that pull as many enemies as they can and stay alive than there are those that pull everything and die shortly. This is also situational because something it is good to have them to speed up the run. It’s when they cannot do it properly that it becomes frustrating.
There’s a few more, but I can’t come up with them for now.
The party members I find helpful.
1. Bringing utilities to help the party. Fire shaman in the volcano fractal is a good way to know if the party has great teamwork. Using reflection/aoes during the shield phase with lava elemental spawns.
2. Ones that are not always dying.
3. The ones that listen when they don’t know what to do in the dungeon or they are new to the method the party is doing.
4. This is probably like number 1 I mention but party members that adapt to the professions in the group and bring things to help make the run smoother.
So what do you guys think about dungeon party members that don’t bring anything to the group versus the party members that bring useful utilities. Doesn’t matter what profession you play, if you can bring something useful would you bring it to the party or just keep everything to yourself for more solo dps?
Here’s a few things for some professions:
warriors: banners/empower allies
rangers: frost spirit/spotter
guardian: passive virtue of resolve/reflections
mesmer: reflection/timewarp
thieves: slealth/smoke screen
elementalist: passive water heal when in water attunement
engineers: extra heals i guess? not sure
necromancers: nothing useful, life transfer possible but not up long enough to matter
There are more things to list but I just put the ones I think are the main ones. Feel free to add anything I miss and your thoughts.
I knew it! I was hoping someone knew about the 3rd or 4th repeat reward… but it’s all guessing. Oh well, thanks for the input. I’ll check wiki and if that doesn’t work I’ll test it out and post again.
Anyone know the exact numbers of tokens you get after you finish, ex. AC1, the 2nd time? the 3rd? the 4th?
Or they could just make it so that if you don’t soulbound or account bound the item then you can refund them. All soulbound/account bound items will be non-refundable. Laurels are not easy to come by, accidentally getting an item by mistake would mean a month of dailies down the drain. That was kitten anyone off for an honest mistake. Make it more enjoyable and give the option to refund an item that has not been used.
Anything that has not been used should be refundable. Again, losing laurels from an honest misclick is frustrating. I haven’t made this mistake, but it’ll be nice to have the option to fix this error.
That would be awesome. I would like the achievement panel to show which character on your account has done story mode so that you don’t have to switch back and forth between your characters.
Heck, just have the story mode unlock for all your characters on your account once you done story mode once for that dungeon. Who wants to do story mode again when the reward is worse than the explorable paths?
I agree. I think having a way to refine the Bloodstone dust, Dragonite ore, Empyreal fragments will be nice too. Refining 100 of each into a single material would work just as well. Most of the crafting require 100 of them anyway.
We got rid of our dungeon tokens and fractal relic storage problem just to get another problem with these new ascended materials. Feels like we’re pulling hairs here, it’s very frustrating.
p.s. I have the max storage tabs in my bank.
Parties usually post for p1/3 or p1/2, etc. anyway. I think it’s fine with the story and paths being under the same tab. Not many people do story mode, but if you see it posted, at least you’ll think about doing it on a character you need. Plus, personally all those extra tabs will be annoying to filter through.
Story mode should give 60+ tokens as the end reward. That 50 silvers has no incentives for people to do them. It’s easier to do an explorable path to get a fast gold and 60 tokens.
The time it takes to do some story mode dungeons take longer than the actually explorable paths. I think rewarding 60 tokens along with an increase coin count to 1g will help people do more story modes.
Can we get a real answer from a dev? So we don’t have to speculate random thoughts that leads to nothing.
Fractal only gets intense when it’s 40+. Anything below 40 you can pug and succeed in a decent time. I find 38 pug runs smoother than 28 pug runs. Heck you can pug any dungeon and get done fast. I find people searching for “exp” players finish runs just as fast as group that don’t post for “exp” players.
About the fractal 20-39 tab, I agree, that does need to be split into 2 tabs. From my exp in the NA servers though, not many people post 28 or 38 groups often in that tab anyway. It might not be a big deal. Fractal tabs just need to show what agony resist you need in order to not be a burden to the party.
A few things I think should be added to the lfg tool is restricting low level characters from entering fotm level 20+, their lower damage/stats don’t meet the requirement to do these levels. I just find it odd that low level characters can enter higher level fractals (20+) when they can’t even wear the ascended trinkets (lvl 80) to give them agony resist.
Everything else about the lfg tool is great. I have no problems playing with random professions in a party. I always find it funny that once a rage quitter leaves the party, we succeed. Guess they were holding us back, who knows?
For those of you that don’t know, the lfg tool does have a level filter. You can’t join higher level dungeons without meeting the level requirement. My lowest character (lvl 35) can only join AC and all the other dungeons are grayed out, with the exception of fractals which I can join any tiers (definately need a fixing).
Ethics is saying that the time put into making another charcter level 80 should be rewarded by having the option of repeating dungeons paths to get the rewards again. The player that didn’t bother to level a second character to 80 should not complain they only get 180 tokens (assuming they did all 3 paths).
Removing the tokens for the 2nd character, the alt, gives a good reason for people to not level another character to 80. There will be no benefits for making more than one level 80. Alts are worthless in regards for getting dungeon tokens.
lvl 80 runs usually consist of a “hello” and a “thx for the run” without socializing.
rofl! I find that comment hilarious. It’s true for most things, but once you’ve done a dungeon enough times you just zone out. People just want to finish that path and move on to the next one.
I had more fun picking the profession, based on the party group, whenever I ran dungeons. No tokens = no alts.
I just think the fewer people run dungeons for tokens mean less parties. Not good.
I would personally love to have dungeon completion be by account instead of by character. All the tokens in dungeons have been nerf, so to me personally I feel like my alts get no benefits from repeating dungeon stories. Why not let all characters on an account be able to open the explorer path if the account has unlocked the achievement?
On a side note, how come story mode doesn’t give tokens? I’ll do story mode if this was the case, but it’s not, so please make story dungeon completion work for all characters on an account.
I find myself using my alts less and less because there’s no reason to play them anymore. My alts are dying to be used.
Anyone know why dungeon tokens got nerfed? I understand why the gold got nerf in dungeons but why nerf tokens too?
I leveled alts to 80 just so I could get tokens faster instead of waiting after each reset to get more tokens from the dungeon with the armor/weapons that I wanted for my alts.
What’s the reward for running the same dungeon twice? token-wise?
The most annoying thing about running a dungeon is not how difficult it is, but not knowing if the person opening the dungeon will suddenly leave on you. Nobody remembers how fun dungeons are, everyone remembers the time some troll decides to leave the dungeon before it finishes to kitten off all the other players that joined the party with him.
GW1 never had any issues with a person leaving a mission in the middle of the run, because even though it took longer to finish without that one person at least it didn’t kick everyone else out.
This makes it harder for people to enjoy some dungeons because they don’t want to have wasted the time spent in them for nothing.
This event is annoying. All due to the timer and being late to the event to organize will result in a fail. This longer time inbetween teq spawns I predict will lead to more players doing something else. Waiting an hour for the spawn wasn’t as bad, but two hours and counting? Soooooo bored waiting holy crap.
Here’s an idea, trading in pristine relics for 100 normal fractal relics
Just wondering when these awesome arenas will be making an appearance in GW2. I just love running into another group of 4/8/12 and having an all out brawl. WvW is too much, there’s not much skill involved in my opinion because the bigger group (zerg) wins.
4 vs 4
8 vs 8
guild vs guild
It feels good to defeat another group of players when they have the same resources as us. NOthing but their skills.
On a side note, PvP right now is very unrewarding compared to GW1. At least in GW1 we got zaishen keys and those at least were worth enough to make it possible to buy PvE items. This was great because you didn’t have to spend your extra time playing PvE when all you wanted to do was beat on other players with skills.
Please bring it back, Thank you.
Errr, I’ve done turret duty before and I still got the 4 chest rewards. It doesn’t take that long to clean the poison on the area the Zerg is standing. When 30 seconds are left just run/jump back to your turret. Easy.
Err… No. Broken turrets remain broken after you win or fail the teq event. Yes, I’m usually around turrets when the events are done. I’ve even tried to repair the turret after the event, but the repair supplied cannot be used.
You just said it yourself. One person aggros the dredges, but he has to do it right. The person doesn’t just aggro the dredges and stand there, they have to aggro then run back to make the dredges move away from the wall. It helps if you have a thief also.
With the thief the person that aggros start aggroing all the dredges and move back. Don’t plant the bombs until the dredges move away from the wall. Planting the bombs before the dredges move away doesn’t work.
I was wondering about that as well, but then once you look at the stats, we’ll want to transmute them anyway. Making them exotics at least give us another option if we have no gold to transmute the cultural armor.
Vial/Glob/Shard of essences – no use after you infused all your rings/back
Pristine Fractal relics – same as essences, once all the rings are infused these just pile up.
Fractal weapons – can’t find a way to use the extra ones. ex: what to do with 2 extra fractal hammers?
Ascended rings (and infused ones) – can’t be salvaged. Why can exotics be salvaged to something of worth, but ascended trinkets cannot?
Some ideas:
-combine mist essences with fractal weapon in mystic forge to give them stats you choose, repeat to change?
-trade a bunch of pristine fractal relics for a fractal mini pet
-trade in pristine fractal relics for fractal exotic armor. Other dungeons have their own unique costume, why can’t fractal of the mist?
-trade Fractal weapons for another Fractal weapon
-salvage ascended rings (infused ones too) into luck essences/ecto/dark matter/fractal tokens for fractal armor (if made)
what do you guys think?
(edited by Wicked Rin.1972)
The thing about salvaging them into mist essences doesn’t really increase it’s value, because the essences eventually become worthless. You can only infuse so many rings until you have all the ones that you need.
I’m at the point where I rather use my pristine relics (that I have no use for) on non-infused rings and infused them with all the shards (also I have no use for either).
At this point I just want to ascended rings to be salvageable to something useful. At least with dungeon tokens we can trade them in for exotics to get ectos or dark matter. Way better than 4s for an ascended ring… that’s just doesn’t seem proper, considering ascended rings are suppose to be better items.
I guess people only want to do easy bosses…
I like how Teq has immune to critical damage and how the teq fingers are immune to condition damage.
I was hoping future bosses in dungeons have either immunity to crit damage or to condition damage and to keep some bosses the way they are (no immunities to crit or cond damage).
It’ll also be fun to see some bosses be taking down by melee only or by range only. It could have both at the same time too, 1 minute of melee than 1 minute of range. I think this will add to more builds.
Another mechanic from the teq fight that I like is the wave attack. I enjoy seeing other players “ride the wave”.
So are we going to have a use for pristine relics/fractal relics soon? They just pile up after our character has all the trinkets. The same goes for the shard/glob/vial of condensed mist essence. Almost forgot the ascended rings we keep getting.
Please make a sure for them.
There is a killer rabbit in game already. It’s in Fractals.
Yes I’ve completed the Boss achievements
Okay, so I’ve been wondering for awhile now and thought the Teq UI on the upperhand screen of the game that shows when Teq is attacking was removed or glitched due to the patch on tuesday.
I have the lfg tool in game, so I don’t know if that interfered with the Teq UI interface. Before I could access the lfg tool I had the Teq Alert UI.
Now that I don’t have the Teq Alert, I know for a fact that everytime Teq is attacking the coast there is a Beep noise that tells me he has arrived.

How would you transmute the glowing necromancer eyes?
Please make it possible to obtain all the possible starter skins for the different professions. Some skins look better after you reach level 80 and I’m hoping I don’t need to remake my character over again just for the skin. Also for the age of the character too.
Like say, a necromancer can have access to all 3 of the beginner skins, mesmers with theirs and so forth. Cause once they’re gone it’s not possible to get them back. ;(
Considering how long it takes to do one fotm run, I think this would help increase more people to actually come back and play fractals. This would at least have a use for the extra pristine relics we have. Dungeons tokens can at least be traded in for exotics to be salvaged so why not let the option be open for ascended rings as well?
Please make it happen.
Lmao! I was reading this the other day then I joined a guild group that had 4 players. Very rude and didn’t bother to use my character name and just called me PUG. I had a feeling the kick was coming because of their bad behavior and they didn’t like my necromancer profession. Carrying me they said. It was only a level 28 too.
Back to the point. You can never know ahead of time that you’ll be kicked. The best thing is to just don’t run FotM with guild groups of 3 or more. Avoid all that nonsense. It’s good to just be the first person to enter the fractal too.
I was wondering if somewhere in the future if we’re able to salvage or trade in our ascended trinkets we get from fractal dungeons to dark matter or ectoplasms.
Considering how I, assuming others as well, get a bunch of ascended rings from the many runs of fractals I do per week. They just collect dust in the bank. Please have them be worth something other than 4 silvers.
Thanks
