No, they are just ok. The classes it self (at least in pvp) have lot of balance. With a warrior I have cut lot of ele like paper, but lot of them have made me burn like paper too. lol
Depends on your build, different builds are better for different situations, that’s all. Anyway you will not see a big difference in pve until higher levels because of the lack of traits.

They have payed what? 4 months of a subscription game (plus the fact you need to buy the box in the subscription TOO so gw2 is way cheaper), they do not have grind to max level, they do not have a npc telling them what they NEED to do or they cant keep going, they do not have only ONE line of quests in one map or few maps, they do not have endless raids for NEEDED gears, they do not have static combat nor a closed class system with defined roles, they do not have higher levels ruining all the experience for lowbies, they do not have a greed company using cash shop +subscription + buy the box, and yet, they still coming here to talk like if all their personal taste or illusions created by their own mind based on hype should become true. It’s just ridiculous…

Ya it would. With weapon swap elementalist would get like 40 skills when a profession with weapon swap like warriors just have 10. Without swap elementalist got 20 already, just with attunements.
Eng have their kits with lot of different weapons.

Grind is for something you NEED not something you WANT.
Expectations and expectations, all they said you get in game. Some people are just complaining about what they was expectating, about what they have created in their own minds probably because of the hype.

Sometimes I really think they could have done like another mmos, do only one line full of grind until max level and put all the world content in the dungeons so they could say “look we got lot o dungeons!”.
Gw2 do not have endgame nor endless raids to be “something” in pvp. If you say “grind” for tokens I say its not necessary so its not grind. Its something you WANT but not NEED.
Endgame start in lvl 1, do all events run through the world, search new things to do, I doubt you have done all random events that happens across all the maps. (Thats one of the reason you can downlvl)
If they have done “max level” in level 20 people would say “wow how much endgame content” because they still thinking endgame is thekittenlevel, not the game it self. Every game has a “end” even the grind ones, deal with it unless you want grind all the way because it maybe be looks more “challenger”.
People still seeing gw2 with “another mmos eyes” and do not try to understand the game.

By the way I can agree with torneys in spvp, but I warn you that even with a rank system match it would happens too.

In WvWvW give time to time, theres lot of new people that do not know what to do.
If they do mess with zerg partys just take advantage of this while you can, and I can say that even zergs in the right time is about strategy.

Learn one thing, you just CAN NOT control all the time the way players play, so its not a flaw of the game at all.

Gw got free trial, gw2 probably will have too. I do not like trials at all, and for gw2… well it’s not a pay to play. I cant say “let me do a 7 days trial with mass effect 3”

Anyway some games got demos, so a trial for gw2 NEED to be very well made.

First reason: If we get free trial by DAYS the “trial guys” would spam e-mail accounts to play sPVP. So let them play like… 1 time only?
Second: They could take place from who payed for the game, in the WvWvW forever waiting list. lol

I know how to play these maps, mate, but I dont like this way – I call it “Player vs Terrain” because it makes you more problems than players do.
I am able to play good and win myself by using over9000 out-of-line-of-sights, but I don’t like it, i really think pvp should have something more connected with face-to-face combat.

When I say wvw map is complicated, i mean some ridiculous alps, useless lake in center of the map, over9000 fortifications on small land square.. there is simply left no space to have good, fair face-to-face combat. There is simply no 10.000 square yards of plain field for good battleground army-vs-army. You either defend keep, either siege it. Because they take all the space.

And about learning from WoW and L2 – these game were played by generations of gamers just because their PvP levels are very good designed, GW2 does not yet. That’s why anet has to learn and take solutions from there. Because, some things are classics and you just can’t make them better. Its like Ohm’s law in physics – you have to take it as it is.

I know want you mean now, I think the solution would be to implement a new kind of pvp, more turned to face-to-face I would love to see more too. The problem is: Lot of people just love it the way it is now, me for example. Better then any pvp I ever played.
I do not agree with “can’t make them better”, it already made it. lol The game was played for generations because there wasnt nothing better to do years ago, and they kept you by useless grind for armors to be “something” against your beloved foe, put that with “I want to be better than the other guy”and you have years of subscriptions.

Sorry but, dude…………… You need to learn how to play theses maps.
I can agree with some points you have made about WvWvW, I think it will change a lot once we get week battles not 24h (it will change soon) but say the maps are complicated its ridiculous, at least for me.
The map is just fine, we actually have to THINK not just “go there”, the team size is ok too, and, again, you need to THINK where to go and when. Theres just 3 spvp maps and you are saying its complicated? lol

I do not think GW2 have to learn with lineage2 nor WoW in pvp, pve maybe for sure it already learned A LOT, but pvp no way. I think its way the opposite.

Just to add 2 You can “pvp good” I got lot of 1 vs 1 and 1vs 2 and I won and lost so many times in spvp. By the way they said they would see if people want duels, for example, and then if yes they maybe could implement, but for me capture points + fight is way better than just fight each other.

Just to add 3, some of the ideas about WvWvW map change will just make the zerg party happens more often, if you make the map easier to walk/moviment through it will turn into a noob battle ground zerg party with respawn and die, respawn and die for ages without a sense. Wich already happens some times.

About elementalist why not just use your hands? I know “bare hands” can not be a option, but why not super awesome magic gloves … with crystals?
So you will cast a fire ball like prince Zuko, with your hands, not using a stick like harry potter.

Open world not…Not enough space for everyone. They CAN do like aion and let it IN THE WORLD but TONS of people will not have houses e for sure that’s not what everyone wants.

There was some guys blocked for using some programs too in another topic here. Make a ticket support, and explain… For sure it will change soon, not soon enough for those who want to play NOW, but you are not the only one so they will take actions and solve the issue.

I do not think you can report. It’s normal, look at WoW for example that’s nothing they can do about that, just keep your eyes open and do not click in random links.
Do not forget that everyone can mask their own e-mail with anything they want, its called “spoofing”, so even if you got a e-mail from ncsoft or whatever, take a second look, and always see the html, what Ip was sent from, etc.

Use “keyscrambler” in your webbrowser (it help make all you type into random letters and numbers for most key logger’s log.)

Avast is great BUT i recommend you to use a specific spyware, not all antivirus are that great at catch spywares.

If you find any suspect file submit it to www.virustotal.com because it do a search with lot of antivirus at the same time.

Do not forget to clean your cookies and logs, use “CCleaner”. Lot of virus and spywares come from temporary files that you get from internet.

Use a e-mail with 2 authetication ways (gmail.com for example wich will require your cellphone to enter) and then IF Arenanet implement the e-mail change confirmation (they probably will since they have blocked e-mail change today) you will get your account almost impossible to be hacked even with keyloggers and spywares in general.

Leave enabled the Ip authetication too, so they cant get into the game.

You do not need that. That’s all… It would be a farm if you actually have the NEED to get the armor. Its just a “bonus”. Do it with time, have some fun, do not try to get everysingle thing in the first weeks.

Yes there is farm and grind for gear and alot. You can also get better gear and stats then other people and you are vastly superior in WvW if you are 80 and have exotic armor, it just not happen in spvp which is probably the less fun part of the game.

Let me explain, we have like weeks of game out right? Compared with another mmos I do not think GW2 have grind at all so for sure it’s not A LOT lol, there’s another games that I need like a weeks and weeks if not a month or more just to get the armor I NEED to be “something” compared with others, to be the one of the"best", MONTHS and months and months.
From what I know they use different ways to put the status within the “rare” armors but not OP stats, like in other games where a “rare” armors can DESTROY a normal one with a few hits.

Not FARM to OP gears, just “skin” (I know theres people how love to be better than other, but not with skills, just with a higher stat. lol Sorry but its just horrible, and make no sense at all, for sure you need to get a life and see how impossible is to get closer to a non life player in another mmo.)
Combat action with some old style touch, better than pure action.

And the better: Not force you to have a tanker, priest or DMG dealer.
I like to play the way I want, with freedom. I could NEVER get back to a system that says me what role I MUST fill and just that.

They give you options, that’s all. You choose how to play and other peoples too, what looks like is that you want to force other people to play your way or the way you think is the best or right. You are deadly wrong, let people play the way they want with the build they want, etc… There’s no chaos, it’s just different and not a sistematic thing.
Plus you still can have “roles” just build yourkittenbuild right and talk with your friends to organize yourselves.
For me its working fine, better than ANY other mmo I ever have played.

I know you guys are doing HARD to make it better but what about the non confirmation in e-mail change? How care if he needs to confirm to change my password when he just change my e-mail and then confirm everything, even ip?
Even with a problem in the pc security would be WAY HARDER to steal someone’s account with a change e-mail confirmation in the previous not the new, or even both together but never just in the new one.
For what I know, the e-mail change have been blocked atm, I hope you guys make that happens, a confirmation please. Then we can rest about not having our account stole because everyone can, someday, in a way or another get keyloggers or be cracked or hacked, even govern have their sites hacked. Do not know about in your country but here the i5 3570k is like twice the price of a fx-6100 for example, the motherboard to support the i5 is like twice or more the price of a motherboard for a fx-6100 too. lol

Its almost like me too. I get like 20 – 30 with all on max settings, sometimes go to 40, 50 and then it drops but never less then 20 here, even in big groups. That’s why I would say 20-30 as a average in max settings. lol
I think that’s ok, still low I admit, but could be worse. I was getting like 9 to 14,15 fps in the headstart with old driver in all the settings, low med high ultra. lol
I think the game itself need to be optimized a bit more.

No, you are wrong saying its almost always player’s fault.

ArenaNet have made a BAD choice in not using a e-mail confirmation for previous e-mail. Lot of people who got the account hacked got their e-mail changed.

Let go through steps
1- the cracker try to enter in the account IN GAME and its blocked by Ip authetication
2- He enters in the account on the SITE
3- He changes the e-mail/account login without any confirmation in the previous one
4- He allow his own IP
5- He got not just access to the account but the account it self.

Are you serious saying its players fault? If we got a e-mail confirmation in the previous one, the cracker:
1- the cracker try to enter in the account IN GAME and its blocked by Ip authetication
2- can not change the e-mail address without invade the e-mail too
3- in a e-mail with 2 ways authentication (gmail for example) he could NEVER enter (wich requires your cellphone)
4- he could not steal the account nor enter into the game

Just to be clear, you get a e-mail confirmation when change your e-mail even in free to play games.

Also being a Nvidia 550ti user im also using the beta drivers 306.02 and still getting choppy fps in cities and certain areas on the maps now unsure what to do or is it my system specs as no other games has issues.

Theres tons of peoples with problem using Radeon too. It’s not a nvidia problem.
Theres people with Nvidia without any problem at all…
Theres even almost same spec machines running the game in different ways. lol
