Honesty is not insulting, stupidity is.
>Class Balance is a Joke<
Yea Ive noticed that it causes the most issues in starter zones as events can be finished extrememly quickly as the low lvl mobs get quickly killed by all the 80’s. This makes it all the more difficult for low lvl players. One way to make it easier for this daily is to finish them during a world event where its often accompanied by multiple pre events, although missing it can require at least a 2 hour wait, so that might also inconvenience people.
Never played those games but possibly due to similarities. Zerg is a large group of players, bunker refers to defensive oriented player/gear & build setup or a wvw structure that is sieged up
oh nah I know what you mean, I have often watched them just run inside something to repel with siege instead of fighting, which is fine and all, but we like to fight open field not bunkered up towers/keeps full of siege
I honestly think all 3 servers do it to some extent. (Like TC has done yes, BG yes, JQ yes.) However I do think certain groups and guilds do OFF rather than bunkering in a tower.
/death to the AC built in open field fights!
lol open field ac’s yell at them this is not eotm! And yea this is done in every server ofc, but moreso Ive noticed in ppt oriented servers like TC, and BG from the old T1 days
you, or better yet your friend would have to contact support and file a ticket, it might take some time considering its christmas time, and try explaining what happened, if they allow a refund the items mentioned will have to be destroyed, good luck
oh nah I know what you mean, I have often watched them just run inside something to repel with siege instead of fighting, which is fine and all, but we like to fight open field not bunkered up towers/keeps full of siege
That wasnt to say they NEVER fight, it just often seems like they never like to fight unless they outnumber us
Ahh.
Which server are ya on or referring to? (If you don’t mind me asking.)
Im on BG, referring to TC
I would never use the opposing servers comms Im no spy :o
That wasnt to say they NEVER fight, it just often seems like they never like to fight unless they outnumber us, although with PPK now its different
yea sorry forgot this part, all characters are on the same server (shard, world w/e you wanna call it) so there is no cross server between characters. Say you transfer one character your entire account transfer including all your characters. And Im not sure what you meant by “doing it twice, but first time w/o wvw maps.” To get the gift of exploration ALL maps required have to be done on the same character, so its not like you can do pve maps on a warrior, and wvw maps on a mesmer for example, doesnt work that way. If I misunderstood my apoligies.
oh np, happy to help, you have a great idea for your guild, the only issue is if its wvw oriented you will be restricted because of servers, so it would make more sense technically to include a pvp aspect as it will allow you duel and battle in custom arenas without having to deal with server restrictions and thus increase your ability to recruit from all servers. One other thing you can do is setup GvG’s with guilds on other servers. Good Luck to you
YES PLEASE OMG YES, I would love hard mode like gw1 had. I dont know how it realistically could be implemented in gw2 considering it is open world. It was possible in gw1 as it had private instances, heroes/henchman to fill parties, but I honestly cant see it working properly in gw2…maybe for dungeons? But not in regular openworld maps. Unless they introduced some kind of Elite areas where it didnt split off the population in the map. Just a map with Elite level difficulty similar to gw1’s FoW and UW but with open world, I think this would be much more technically feasible.
I maintain my selfish desire to preserve my vision and object to more male skin
You cannot mail items to yourself, you can only store account bound items on your characters or account bank. I recommend just being patient and checking in often to see your worlds progress with whatever you need to map. One option is to transfer if your really that desperate.
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/community/lookingfor
This is the new consolidated guild recruitment/looking for guild forum
Your post will probably be moved over there anyways.
Also one thing that might really help your guild is creating a custom arena, this way you can always duel and fight each other up to 10v10 and not have to worry about servers
dont quote me on this, but I heard from a friend that the tribal armor is going to be brought back
well personally I have the bank space, it was forgetting to take them from the bank and having to port to a bl and bank for them that always bugged me, so dont have to worry about that anymore
Generally over time you get the experience to know when to avoid what, and when to dodge etc. Problem is, all to often there are so many particle effects, lighting, and player models in the way that it becomes almost/if not completely impossible to see anything.
In dungeons its generally a little easier as bosses are large, have obvious tells with long activations, and their heavy attacks can be easily avoided. And its always the same scripted actions, its not like fighting human players where its unpredicatable.
But I would also like some way to make it easier to see through the graphical effects, as I stated in some cases its just impossible to see anything.
well one thing you can do for them is pvp, every reward track offers tomes, heck if you have a friend/alt account you can farm a track in a custom arena with open progression.
But yes I do agree it would be nice if they were up for purchase, they were during a couple living stories so I cant see why they shouldnt be.
Generally I like the new daily system, wouldnt mind a few tweaks here and there maybe a few extra choices but it hasnt been to bad so far. One thing I would definately change is the zone event daily, this one definately needs to be in line with the others and be a regional daily. Having everyone swarm a zone competing to do events can be very frustrating to people as it causes many to miss events. Simply making it regional would really help with that. And I dont mind the other regional stuff like view/mine stuff in ascalon etc, I used to just do dailies in the same spot, now I get to move around so its kinda nice.
Both are great and useful in pretty much all gamemodes. Guardians generally have a higher learning curve depending on what you do, ie high level fractals..guardians for this really need to have a good understanding of the profession and not simply stack and dps. Warrior is generally much easier to play, not to say its not versatile or oversimplistic. But warriors in general in RPG’s are standard well known professions and are usually made easier to play and understand. Warriors are also great for any game mode and have excellent mobility, higher hp then guardians but in my opinion not the kind of sustainability that a guardian has. Basically cant hurt to have both, but I would recommend making a warrior first to get an introduction to the heavy class.
Guardians are more balanced in terms of solo/group play as they have great group synergy and can provide a lot of group support. Warriors are generally more offensive oriented and do not provide much defensive support.
Rangewise, in terms of damage warrior longbow is quite reliable as it gives good damage plus aoe and conditions. And the rifle gives nice single target damage, and can be traited to pierce.
Guardian range options are a little…unbalanced but have its uses. Scepter gives nice damage with the #2 skill at 1200 range, and the staff auto attack can hit 5 targets at once making it an ideal farming weapon, but not great for dps. However it can provide great self healing when traited with Altruistic Healing when using the #4 skill. So staff is a nice support weapon.
Also depending on how you want to build it, either can be tanky, or pump out high dps, even both if you play it properly.

oh wow thought it was just the bandit crests, really nice qol update which negates the need to find a bank to get to the tokens. Thanks anet.
I think we can all agree that Faren knows how to festive! :P I <3 it.
He does look hilarious, the glitter thing just makes it more ridiculously funny
yea it doesnt make much sense, like you first kill the eye, then later discover it exists??? Some of the dialogue and cutscenese were not edited to fit the new model. I am glad they took the biggest fear part out, always hated that part. Although that dialogue is still in one of the cutscenes regarding whichever choice you made, so idk what to make of it. At lease you dont have to actually fight through cursed shore for this part, you can just start the instance from fort trinity.
Kasmeer, I demand more kasmeer
Same here, I dont consider myself anything special but just someone who cared a lot about helping out, it was a team effort that many of us, like you Timmy took part in, dont sell yourself short. Sometimes things just dont work out for various reasons, and a fresh start is best.
Hey long as people are having fun, all that matters. Things had to be said, but I dont want it to get personal because while I do not agree with your attitudes regarding wvw. You have a lot of nice generous people in GSCH, I hope that wasnt lost in this heated exchange. Breaking up is hard to do
I vote for less male skin, to preserve my vision
Reading this thread and seeing the responses from these casual SoR players that are now stepping up to the plate on SoR for WvW is seriously frustrating. Most of these people have zero clue about the hard efforts that many went through to revitalize WvW after Java chips left until October. KOGS, RA, FIRE, IQ, EG, MEGA, RISE, and more. All guilds that were born and bred on SoR, some of us, like FIRE, from day 1. These guilds pushed to the limits to build up the SoR community and improve our WvW capabilities, many if us doing so as PvX guilds that just cared just a little too much. But, all these harsh words from those that did not see the strong, positive efforts of those that strove hard to improve SoR and keep our remnants together as we fell and stabilized. Few of these saw the relentless efforts to recruit other guilds.
Sure, we all ended up leaving…for different reasons. But that does not diminish the fact that SoR had a core of guilds that were actively doing exactly the things suggested in this thread… For about a 7 month tenure. So, to see the goodbye, good riddance bugs me. I know of a lot of good people that invested in SoR, that started on SoR from day one, that were finally driven off the server by the if-you-like-organized-wvw-then-you-are-too-elite-for-us group. Maybe this group of people needs to rewind a few months. Not everyone that left SoR had anything to do with T1 elite WvW isolationism. Many of us left because we wanted a strong community that had some semblance of organization, communication, and unity within WvW, and SoR was building that, but eventually just fizzled. Give some consideration to the middle group. Not the elite, not the casual, but the workhorses that cared too much…to a fault.
Well said Xivor, not all of us were wvw elitists who abused people in ts, thats why we stayed and tried to rebuild SoR. We knew the bad reputation those guilds left which is why we tried to repair it, we put in real time and effort to help in many ways. But you guys dont care, and never cared. Because of your shortsightedness and stubborness all you can do is blame everyone else, and never bothered to try to help or say thanks for the effort to those who cared and tried to help. Now you have your graveyard all to yourselves, enjoy it.
Have your pride on a dead server.
I will have fun on an active one.
dear god, please no …funny, well written post though
yea in t1 its surprisingly common to see enemy groups run, even if the numbers are balanced, Im not really sure why but I will say this particular server doesnt like to fight open field unless they outnumber 2or3 to 1 lol
wat? What T1 are you in? I’ve never seen a equal numbered blob run away from another blob.
Im on NA t1, and the server I was referring to is an enemy server, which only likes to fight if it outnumbers
First of all if your gonna suggest not conveniently ignoring pieces of other posts to support yours…please take your own advice.
Very well made website??? That website was an outdated joke, we had to constantly ask Fog to update that thing and change it to look as sharp as the websites of other servers because the SoR one looked ridiculous in comparison. Heck it had the names of guilds that were no longer on the server, for months, still registered on it.
And congratulations on finally using the TS…of course now that theres nobody left to pay for and manage it. At least better late then never right? But for close to 2 years you guys just used your own rc channel instead of the server TS. Which is fine thats your choice, but you have to understand WvW is not like going onto a pve map. It requires structure, coordination, proper setup etc. In the past if you guys just suddenly brought in a group at a random time and queued the map with pve geared players all in your own channel in raidcall, OF COURSE it was going to cause problems.
And Ive known GSCH for 2 years now, I know how you guys do WvW, sure you have some people during the day. But the majority come for the 2-3 times a week karma train, most of which are in pve setups. Which is why you guys were always slaughtered when SoR was in higher tiers, not only that but it disrupted the groups already on the maps and caused queues often leading to losing upgraded keeps.

I don’t know anyone in wvw personally who would run from their opposition while evenly matched. I don’t ever remember running from a specific guild in WvW through many tiers even.
Also if you’re wanting to let other server know who crushed them, use the Guild gear which shows your guild logo, as well as the guild finishers. (Not to mention they can see guild tag/names already.)
Some people dont look at it as running though, they simply avoid fights with trolly/stealth spamming groups of gankers full of mesmers and thieves. Which dont have any purpose in pursuing for a fight.
I dont see any reason why they shouldnt be, saying oh just dont open the boxes doesnt explain why they cant be stacked like most every other account bound item
yea thats all well and good, problem is you become a bigger target and your enemies will simply roll larger numbers when they know your around, which will eventually ruin your day no matter how good you are.
Hate is a tool.
Fear is a tool.
Understand them.
Use them properly
would love a response from anet on this idea
you want them to change everything because you didnt know what you were doing and didnt bother to ask until after you did it?
Aside from being able to Eotm (which is not real wvw but w/e) if you and your guildies are on the same side as it is color based not server based. For regular wvw you all need to be on the same server to play together. Always has been that way, should always be that way.
(edited by X T D.6458)
While I agree that wvw should not be about loot, the loot inequality is very unfair for wvw focused players who are constantly getting the short end of the stick update after update. The loot disparity has never really been adressed. The bag frenzy in wvw leads many to simply look for fights. To much of a for fights attitude in a server will kill that server see maguuma, sor etc. So while I do adhere to the play for fun not to farm concept, I also believe that the loot disparity is unfair to wvw focused players.
I believe thieves guild summons show up as “server name beasts”? also it wouldnt say thief it would say “underworld rank” like invader etc… but aside from that if what you say is true it is indeed an exploit
After the larger wvw guilds had left in the first exodus I was one of the many that stayed and tried to help rebuild SoR and looked forward to bronze wvw for a change to get away from all that garbage that went on in t1 at the time. I went to server meetings, talked with guild leaders trying to recruit them over to SoR, posted recruitment ads here on the forum, donated siege to commanders, even helped setup the new SoR TS the day it was created. A few months ago I realized that no matter what SoR was going nowhere and I just stopped caring because I was not having any fun watching it die again and again and seeing many friends leave. I had been on SoR for 22 months, played through every tier and against every server. I did all I could to help it, even commanded when I could. On my last night in SoR I put up my pin and recapped our garrison with 2 other people…this was about 30minutes into reset night…the handwriting was on the wall and this is when I knew it was definately time to go.
As far as GSCH goes, look I like you guys personally you do great things for the community and have a lot of nice people. But heres the thing you guys are a multi gaming community you cannot act like you run or control SoR because of the name because you are not dedicated leadership. Doing Karma trains in wvw a couple times a week does not count as dedicated wvw leadership for gw2. That is how other servers manage to succeed and rebuild because of dedicated leadership. I mean you guys didnt even use SoR’s TS for your raids, criticized and attacked all proposed ideas without bringing up any ideas yourselves, refused to go along with anything we wanted to do that other servers tried and successfully employed to rebuild and stabilize. This toxic environment, the constant butting of heads by ego driven commanders, and everyone unable or unwilling to come to any understanding or agreement so yea SoR was long meant to be the graveyard of WvW. And before you get all angry and try to flame on me for those words, reread my first paragraph, I am no bandwagoner, I did more for SoR then anybody will know, I wish it would have worked, but there were was too much working against SoR. It was a tough decision for me to leave and one that took a lot of self convincing, but in the end there was no other choice. And GSCH in all honesty, if your happy with the way SoR is now, your either deluded or so kitten stubborn you cannot ever admit you might be wrong…I say both.
(edited by X T D.6458)
indeed, would be nice to actually make them useable by giving them away
So Ive been playing over 2 years and have accumulated lots of items like boosters and makeover kits and stuff like that, which I have no use for and thought it would be a good idea if it were possible someday to be able to gift them to a friend who is new. I have friends that are new to the game that could could use these items more then I could since they are just taking up room in my bank. Idk is this a dumb idea or does anyone else support this?
thats a real shame, seeing all that hard work go to nothing, Ive been there I know what its like. Hang in there try to adapt to the changes and hope you can recover when this stupid change ends in a couple weeks
This change is a massive failure. I just spent all night K-training every bordlerands trying to find people to play with. It completely discourages any sort of fight because you can’t react fast enough to stop the flip. Tier 3….WvW has never been so dead.
Furthermore, people coming into WvW looking for things to do, who are not on teamspeak or with an organised guild…I feel for you. It must feel like a ghost town.
No tags on every BL in tier 3 most nights this week.
Last night was pretty much ktrain as well, from one map to another and this was t1 btw
Anet wont admit they made a stupid mistake. This is an illthought out gimmick plain and simple. It came from the Adopt a dev program during the last season where dev’s joined some guilds to play wvw. Except they didnt bother going to any lower tiers to see how their ignorance and lack of attention really affect wvw. Therefore this stupid change will have less of an effect on higher tiers, and more damage to lower tiers. Working as intended.
I don’t know why you think that those of us who had dev’s in tier 1 WvW wanted them to remove white swords… if you really want some proof that in tier 1 we DID NOT want them to remove white swords then read my post from 1 month ago…
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/wuv/Punishing-The-WvW-Experience-Was-I-Right/first
Did you bother reading at all??? Where in my post did I say that? I didnt say people wanted it, thats where the idea came from because of the adopt a dev program.

I agree, they really messed up badly this year, there is simply nothing to do and not worth doing anything aside from the grawnk chain. The gift rewards are disgusting, I am a casual farmer and was hoping to be able to kill some time farming gifts and assumed it would follow the model of silverwastes and haloween. BOY was I wrong, theres a reward from a gift where you get to choose a MINOR sigil or rune??? Are you kidding me anet, its all absolute useless garbage. They have already ruined Wintersday for me by putting it in crown pavilion, a tiny narrow arc, the rest of DR isnt even decorated as I had hoped to see. Only thing going on is people running back and forth waiting for a dolyak to crap out gifts with garbage inside. Aside from doing whatever achieves/dailies I can, theres no point in wintersday.
Laurels-
Will be awarded in the DAILY LOGIN CHEST which resets everyday at the daily reset time. As well as a bonus reward that used to be a possible random reward from dailies/monthlies. The login rewards will also rotate on a 28 day cycle..
Well as far as Laurels are concerned. I got my first log on chest and got 2 Mystic coins. No Laurels. Maybe they’re bundled later? Still if it is like 10 after 12 days of playing that’s not more rewards that’s less.
My biggest complaint is all the bouncing back and forth I have to do now. Before I could just log on and play in SW or PvP or lvl an alt AND NOT HAVE TO TRY to do dailies. Now I find myself logging in on my thief for PvP reward then my engi, now my guard. Now I find myself going to magumma for harvesting or Kryta. Now I go to Ascalon for some quick vista then WP back. Get the point? That’s just ridiculous to me. Before you could just play the way you wanted to and the dailies would come naturally. Now I have to scan and find which don’t apply to me and which ones that do and then hunt them out.
For example, I’m not fractal level 11-20 (today’s daily), so I have to find which ones DO apply. Never before, did I have to do that. I could just log on and play and lo and behold the dailies would come naturally. I never even bothered most days to see what they were, I just played the game.
If the old system wasn’t broke, then why fix it?
they are bundled later, from what I saw laurels are broken up into weekly chest, with some other chests offering laurels as well, but each chest offering more laurels, so its not one per day anymore. And yea I hear you about the small amount of choices, but really it can be finished now in literally less then 5 mins, the last one was harvest 4 plants in maguuma lol.
where do I see the 28 days log in rewards? when I logged in I saw the panel, then I got 2 coins and now I can not find that panel again
yea I cant seem to find it anywhere after getting the reward, Im sure it will be posted on wiki soon
