Honesty is not insulting, stupidity is.
>Class Balance is a Joke<
Gaile, is there a reason why you guys can’t just prevent people from writing “Arenanet” in the subject line of in game mail? It seems like that would at least force scammers to write something else, which would in turn stop some slightly more unsuspecting people from accidentally believing the mail to be true.
Most phising sites that copy regularly used websites will use letters to fool people into putting in there login info. They will use letters that resemble the word as close as possible for example Areranet, Aremanet, most people will spot the difference, but these scum look for that one person to make the mistake. Have to understand these scams are not designed to catch everyone, when you go fishing you dont go out to get every fish in the lake, just that one or two that goes for the bait.
for those that dont know the crafting is easily done by make an exotic essence of luck, all you need is to have artificer unlocked on a toon, and essences that amount to 200 in any combination. There is no need to craft gear for this achieve
what do you do when you see the wierd and stupid map chat, turn it off
rp’ers are kinda wierd to me, but they not hurting anyone or being offensive, keep emote chat off, and no problem. Have fun
happy to help, hope it gets fixed soon :/, in the meantime use that workaround, it keeps it from resetting, but you have to check it everytime you open the finishers panel, as long as it doesnt revert to the default it will work properly.
(edited by X T D.6458)
for those that dont know always check on the bottom, where it says this mail was sent by another player. Anet does not ask for your login info. Always report and block. And never ever go on those websites, even if curious, they are designed to steal login and personal info, as well as installing harmful software on your computer in order to steal your info. Stay safe.
some people dont like change,
some people like to complain,
pve purists cant stand the idea of going into wvw to stand in a circle for ruins daily
some of it can definately be tweaked, mainly the zone specific daily, that one seems to cause the most problems, as everyone swarms one map and makes it difficult for many people to find, get to, or complete any events.
well basically claiming allows you to apply active buffs to whatever was claimed. Gaining influence say from claiming a camp, I cant see how that would work, do you mean that while something is claimed by your guild you get extra influence for events on the map? Also this would really open the door for a lot of trolling and abuse, essentially incentivizing such action because it rewards it. But I do agree wvw focused guilds/players really do need some love in terms of guild influence, loot etc. I think increasing influence gain for different actions in wvw would be a better idea. Say capturing a camp gives 4, tower gives 5, keeps gives 10 per player that recieves credit. This would help wvw guilds a lot as they tend to be smaller then pve/pvx guilds. And this would even help smaller pve/pvx guilds, as it will give them incentive to go into wvw to build up their guilds and help bring in more people for wvw which many servers are starving for.
I also posted one way to get around it till its fixed…I hope
The only way around this is to choose a finisher and quick click the arrow icon back checking that it didnt revert to the default. Its annoying but the only way around it atm.
this is a standing bug with finishers and should be reported on the bugs forum here
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/support/bugs
I also have an existing thread on it if you would like to add to it here
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/support/bugs/Finishers-keep-resetting/first#post4653669
dont ever leave timmy, would hate to see people asking you for your gold
ah thats great, long as you guys are having fun
Hey man, ofc I remember, lots of good times in ts and raiding. How you guys liking jq?
yea its just ridiculous, and has gone on for to long. And really nobody is asking to be able to get mats or anything from this gear, just let us get the kitten upgrades back. Still need a bl kit to guarantee an upgrade salvage, cant understand why they wont make this much needed change.
Or at the very least offer a one time free transfer to players. When I started over 2 years ago they used to allow 1 free transfer per week, and I had no idea what server to choose as well because at the time I didnt know anything about them or wvw, basically I went by the name lol and population size. But since they changed the parameters for population, every NA server is considered very high even if their wvw population is tiny, and pve population is meaningless.
Good luck to you guys on your new server, hope to see your guild grow again.
ah so he flounced and bounced
happy to help, and good luck to you guys on…ew jq
any class, zerk lb ranger, is very fast, trait for piercing arrows, rapid fire wrecks the npcs
zerk necro is good, ball em up, drop well, marks, ds spam done, engi bomber, ele staff or d/d, gs war nice if you can stack em by a wall for whirling wrath, gs guard, sb thief with arrow storm, gs and s/f mesmer. Have fun
cant blame people for wanting to level faster, its so long, boring and tedious in this game imo. Sometimes its a nice way to kill time, sometimes its just drags on and on especially for veteran players who dont want to keep repeating the new….npe, on top of the the new trait system which is a mess by itself, and needs a major overhaul.
Yes but then you wouldn’t have to pay all those hefty gems to switch servers.
Bingo. One thing new players can do, early on is delete all their characters and this will allow them to transfer to another server for free. Really anyone can do this, its just better for new players, as they havent acquired or leveled as much.
thats a fair point
Nice to see you guys again, but you might want to post this here
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/community/lookingfor
thats the recruitment forum.
essentially, been saying for a long time they need to make it so wvw/karma gear can be salvageable for upgrades. I dont care about the ectos, mats, inscriptions, I just want the upgrades back. 250gems at the current ratio is not worth it. Basically the best thing to do is gear with expensive runes, put on salvagable gear, cheaper runes on wvw/karma gear
CD lost many guilds to DB, you might think about transfering there to play with some old servermates, or a guild you might know from CD.
T1 is always busy during sea, BG has some great guilds during that time, and theres plenty of room for growth in T1. And T2 from what I know is little less balanced in terms of SEA, there are basically 4 servers in t2, sos dropped to t3 this week, but its a t2 server. SoS is heavy during OCX and SEA and usually dominates that timezone because of a large Austrailian player base. YB and DB have good OCX, not sure about their SEA though, DB might have gained coverage there after getting an influx of guilds recently. But I would suggest T1, plenty of room for growth, lots you can learn, and plenty to do even for small teams like yours. Best part of all, its always active. Good luck.
He makes an interesting point, many players dont know anything about a server before joining it and might find they dont like it and want to go to another one when they find out it only affects wvw. Since megaservers have essentially removed server identity outside wvw, there is little way for new players know what to pick, or how to pick a server. I can definately understand the benefit of being able to select a server after starting instead of before for those reasons, but practically speaking, I cant see that ever happening.
would be great if not for the long loading screens that instantly pop up as soon as you wp, really wouldnt be able to see anything. I would rather they work on reducing load times when waypointing, cool idea though.
I can see the benefit of that, but it would def have an unfair advantage for people who do not run dungeons, to get such a large xp consumable. Especially considering many dungeons can be speed cleared very quickly. Using an 80 and then trasfering those cons to a low lvl, idk think its a bit too much.
I’m no white knight.
But thankfully I’m also not an attention seeker getting up on a soap box before they ditch the game. (Or a sympathizer towards such a player.)If you actually cared you’d give constructive feedback about why you’re leaving — but as that is not why you made this sorry excuse for a thread….
/closethread
Yea not sure why people make these leaving the game posts either, guess just frustrated and need to vent
constant switching of wxp rank skills could very easily be abused, I would say give a once a week chance to reset and resassign them. This way for players with a limited number of points who find they invested in something they dont like, they can reset and put it into another line that would be more useful to them.
sometimes breaks are good when you get burned out, nobody is going to send you their stuff, stop with these stupid replies….
Happens bro, anytime you do something competitive, frustration will eventually occur. I do wvw a lot, think I like being steamrolled by 50 people lol. But you know it is what it is. I just try to have fun with it as best I can.
I dont often go to eotm, but when I do, yea 95% of the time OG has a giant blob and outnumbers everyone by at least 3 or 4 to 1. Last time I was in there my side had 20 people, OG had a blob, bl had about 20-30. I have to question the overflow placement used here.
its an endless cycle, servers go up, servers go down. If you want to be stabile, you have to recruit, train, and constantly improve your playstyle. Happens to everyone. Plus sometimes its good to drop when you cant compete because it gives you a chance to settle into a lower tier and stabilize which will help you rebuild.

well one thing you can do is check out the pvp forum to learn more about those builds, to help you develop counters. I too share your hatred for fighting eles, and those trolly mesmers lol
exactly, if there were perfect balance there would be no counterplay, and no strengths and weakness to seperate classes, they would just have different names to seperate them
Im no fan of the build system here, especially after playing gw1, because I like making my own builds, and I do find much more limiting here compared to gw1 in that regards. But I also recognize the difficulty in balancing and counterplay again after gw1. So believe me I really do get your frustration, its one of the reasons I dont do PvP because basically everyone uses the same build and does the same thing in every match, boring and just not my style. Gw1 PvP yea I found it much more flexible and fun, but you know what can you do its a different game, and no matter what game, some people will always choose convenience over thought.

and what do you propose to solve this? People will always run meta builds, some like me like to be more creative, but not everybody, doesnt matter what devs of any game do, people will always find some build to make a meta and people will flock to it. Just how it is.
As I stated meta builds are not necessarily cheese builds but cheese builds tend to be meta.
And I really don’t expect Anet to do anything about it. As you said there will always be players that can find a build that is broken or cheese. But as we go on in the years anet will eventually find a balance in the game and these cheese builds wont exist.
What I want is for players to learn to make their own builds instead of going after these cheese builds. But then again there will always be those that are lazy and want the easiest way to play the game.
yea but thats the thing there can never be any true balance, otherwise every profession would essentially be the same. Having played gw1 which had like thousands of skills, secondary professions, unlimited build diversity etc, some people also used meta builds for every part of the game. Its just the way some players are. One thing you can do is if you see particular builds commonly used, make your own build to counter it.
Why not find a counter to the builds? There has to be one.
They’d have to wait for someone to publicly post one which may not ever happen.
There are many websites that post all types of builds, also simply asking friends, guildies etc usually works for most people. Its not hard for anet to know what people are running. They nerf one, to bring up another, it gets abused, nerfed etc etc
maybe try it and decide for yourself, no monthly fees, can quit if you dont like it and come back at any time, there are frequent sales on the site for digital editions. Posting those questions here are only going to get you mixed results and wont give you any real answers, because your asking questions where the answers are based on opinions. Some love it, some hate it, try it see where you stand.

bumping to keep accounts safe from scum
also make sure to report it of course.
that is a phish mail, its a scam sent by hackers/rmt and those other scumbags to trick people into giving up their personal info, if you notice on the bottom it says SENT BY A GUILD WARS PLAYER, and not by the anet team. Always check that, and never go on any website, they are designed to steal your game login info and personal info. Be careful.
Heres a link from a post Gaile made the other day that might help you.
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/gw2/Please-Take-Care-with-In-Game-Mails/first#post4653395
Necromancer is op for wvw, but not liked for dungeon runs if you like speed clears, usually its guard/wars/eles and depending thief/mes for ports/stealths. Mesmer is great for pvp and setup properly can be well balanced in terms of support, damage, even conditions. For wvw mesmers are usually used more for support, portals, veils, etc.
Hope that helps. If you plan to do more wvw, def necromancer, if little of everything, probably mesmer
Didnt hear you guys complaining when you took guilds away from lower tier servers like fergusons, and hammer trained your way to #14. Great when your the one dominating right? In fact you guys bragged about it on the forums, easy to win when you have numbers, works both ways ya know. If you dont like it, try recruiting for your server to shore up coverage gaps or helping train players. Good luck
depends on what your doing, always, they each have their uses, usually the more expensive the most popular, though doesnt necessarily mean its the best choice. So always depends on purpose. If your build doesnt rely on crits, no purpose using crit dependant sigils.
yes Im familiar with da vincis great works featuring twilight and bifrost, and not to mention the dreamer…
The parts of the key are shared for all three borderlands, making it possible to retrieve key parts on one borderland and open the chest in one of the others. It may be easier to collect the key parts on your own borderlands to use on the other two. However, you cannot collect a key part more than once per day on any one borderlands.
You need the key parts to unlock the door and chest. While a person with both key parts can open the door for players without, each player requires both key parts to open the chest for themselves.
If someone opens the vault for you, you can open the chest, but you will not receive the achievement for having done the jump puzzle, and if you do the jump puzzle before the chest resets; i.e. right away. You will be unable to complete the achievement until the chest resets for you.
Found this on wiki, might help out, if nothing works atm, you might have to wait till tommorow to try again
yea find them again
