I can’t agree more with you. Also, a lot of flashing lights do give some of us a headache. I know we are a minority and all that, but still. It’s not a good feeling to enter a zone with spell spam particle effects on top these…….weapons and have a stabbing pain shooting through your head.

I feel everyone is too locked into “right-click and select duel on someone”. Why not have it implemented like /rank or through an item-like thing? For example write “/duel” and your character will plant a dueling flag which other players can walk up to and interact with to initiate the duel.

That way you CAN’T spam duels on people who doesn’t want it, no need to even add an ignoring option. It would work like a guild booster banner, I can see no problems with this other than “blocking” interactive things, but that problem already exists and I only see it as a slight annoyance (tab ftw).

I found something for you.

I have some extra minis that I could part with. They’re sitting in my storage chest, collecting dust.

My characters names come from their GW1 ancestors. Except my warrior, I gave him the most basic, unoriginal name I could think of.

I was never really big on the whole “Have to have a lore appropriate name” thing.

/age is 855 days so a bit over two years. I end up taking a few breaks here and there. I’ll try to do the collections, but then I’ll ask myself..“why am I doing this?” It doesn’t really serve a purpose for me. Then it usually spirals out to other areas of the game. I’m like that with every game I play though. After a while, I’ll just get bored. That’s pretty much “a me thing”. So, I take breaks. I log in to get the stories, then do them later.

When I come back, I can usually find something to do. When I came back from my last break, I wanted to get the non-merit upgrades for my one man guild. Now that it’s finished..I dunno.

I don’t like a lot of the other MMOs out their. Never really fond of the whole treadmill idea. So, a game that I can pick up and put down, when I get bored, then pick it back up again is pretty ideal for me.

Favorite legendary: None. They all give me a headache. Right along with the rest of all the particle effects. Besides that, I just think they all look rather bland for a supposed legendary weapon. Take away the flashy, headache inducing particle effects and there’s not much to the skin itself. (imo anyway)

Truth be told, I actually did. It was a bit difficult to fend off incoming risen behind tears, but it was a very moving piece. (The music that is)

I’ve never really been an alt-oholic in any game but have strongly considered creating my first alt in this game for a different Personal Story experience (my only GW2 character thus far is a male human ranger with whom I’ve only recently completed the Personal Story with).

Would it still be worth it to try an alt or has the NPE pretty much ruined the experience?

A few days ago, I finished leveling a warrior to test out the NPE. My take on it is that’s it’s pretty hit and miss. You get crafting bags on some level ups, some gear to save a bit of coin. You can turn off the “nag arrow” if you like. The miss, for me, would be things such as vistas not appearing on the map until later. Skill point challenges not being accessible until a later level (seriously, at level 4 I couldn’t start a skill challenge). You get an offhand weapon at level 2 but can’t use it till a later level. These are just a few of my “nit picks”.

My opinion is only about the NPE. The trait revamp came before the NPE. I despise the trait revamp..so much.

Largos would be an option when Anet shifts their focus to underwater-gameplay (which doesn’t seem to be happening soon). When Anet improves their underwater-gameplay then there is the possibility of introducing Largos as GW2’s first race with a home-city underwater.

I’m thinking that if we ever get to “Bubbles” maybe that would open up the their home zone to us. Hopefully by then underwater combat will have a bit more tlc added.

Honestly, I didn’t care for Cantha…like at all. Inner city was a pain to navigate (imo), the armor was alright (my monk still wears her kurzick armor), the faction grind was..well, I’ll skip that subject. I loved my assassin and rit though. I prefer Elona over Cantha personally. I thought Palawa Joko was pretty funny.

All the other dragons have champions right? Jormag, Shatterer, was it shadow of the dragon that attacked the Pale Tree? Anyway, we faced what four or more dragons before we got the one we call Zhaitan. How do we know he isn’t just another “champion dragon”. Sure he looked different from the other winged critters playing flappy bird over our heads, but can we really say with 100% certainty that was Zhaitan?

Just a thought, nothing more.

At least throughout the Guild Wars series, you could (and still can) play any combination of class and race that you want.

I’ve always liked playing as a male human ranger in just about every fantasy-based game I’ve ever played, yet until WoW’s Cataclysm expansion six years into the game’s existence, humans weren’t allowed to be hunters (WoW’s equivalent of rangers).

I could be misunderstanding you, but in GW1 you could only play human as a race. No other options.

I think OP is talking about the chests that appear on the side of the screen. Like in SW, you complete an event and the chest is on the side of the screen that you need to click to open. I think he wants to know how many you can leave on the side of the screen before you actually need to open them.

Edit: Someone beat me to it. I’ve had a total of five on the screen. Three displayed and two after that.

I actually did the daily for today. The main reason was the pristine fractal relic for only completing one fractal. I went down to level one and rolled the ascalon fractal. I really can’t stand fractals, but if I can get a pristine relic for only having to suffer through one, then I’ll jump on that.

Dumb reasons huh? I might have some.

Norn: The voice. I can’t stand when one of the female norns catches fire. They sound like they just discovered the element. The run animation. I understand that since they’re so tall they only appear to run slower, but I still can’t get past it.

Charr: The only thing I like about these, are some of the people I met who operate them. I can’t stand their lore, I can’t stand how they think, or anything else about them.To this day, I still can’t finish the personal story.

Asura: I really can’t stand their attitude.

Engi: Too easy. It’s like fishing. Throw out a net, wait for a bite, then hit ’em hard. /shrug

Guardian: Also too easy. It also remind me of playing a warrior, only more……blue.

Warrior: I have one, it’s level 30ish.I have to force myself to play him. Too easy and they bore me to tears. Look, I’m swinging a sword…again. Of course, to be fair, ranger greatsword isn’t really that much better. Except the eagle and bear that pop up.

Since they’re account bound, my guess would be no.

I’d have to agree with this post. Last week I was in a breach, the champ thrasher, standing beside a ranger who was just hitting every skill he/she had that was off cd. I mean every one, even the LB#3.

If you knew anything about mobs, then you would know that Champions are immune to KB, so it doesn’t hurt at all to use LB#3 on those bosses during the breach, all it does is give an extra damage shot, a very low damage shot but it allows your other skills to recharge.

Hate to tell ya sport, LB#3 is the shot that makes the ranger go stealth. Point blank shot is number 4. And yes, I am aware of the neat little icon on the champs that says immune to knockback and such..I can read and your snarky attitude isn’t welcome.

I’ve been doing the world event chain for months now and have noticed that some folks playing the Ranger class have been using KB as a form of trolling, by knocking back content out of the reach of other players purposely.

Most likely it’s not a purposeful trolling, but either just “using all the available skills when off cd” approach, or knocking back enemies because they use longbow and feel better/safet attacking from distance (also, LB close range penalty).
The same problem appears with Mesmers (gs skill 5) and Necros (fear in many forms). Mentioning in say that scattering enemies away from melee players is not that good idea usually works, so you might try that.
