SIlverwaste its just ridiculously hard and all the events fail and even the story achievements i cant get a single one done.

That’s odd. When I go to Silverwastes none of the events fail. I see people getting the Dolyaks to the camps, reclaiming camps, and so on. Just out of curiosity though, which story achievements are trying to get?

I don’t plan to step one pixelated foot inside any pvp map. Ever. I don’t care how “rewarding” they make it or what shiny they try to place in there to funnel more people. As far as the question goes, I think all game modes should be equally rewarding. It would fit into the whole “play how you want” moto.

I would love a solo option. Ive been trying to get Arah Story Mode done on my Engineer for months. But the game is full of Leet snobs that only want zerker warriors or what ever. Oh and lets not forget about the Path Selling Trend that keeps growing by the day.

Well, the offer is open if you want. The story modes can be duoed/soloed. Even arah story mode. I’ve done it before with a guildie.

@ OP, Are you on NA or EU server? If you’re on an EU server I could help you run the story modes. I don’t mind if people want to watch the cutscenes.

If I remember correctly, there are a group of char cubs ,either in ascalon or diessa?, that have an event tied to them. Some necromancer woman tried to kidnap them or something and you have to stop it. I can’t remember the full details but it’s something like that anyway.

Slightly off topic: In GW1,when you got Gwen as a hero, did you ever take her to see her mom in the UW? I kinda liked that little bit of story.

I’d actually like to see that too. It’s a bit of a drag to have so many dead players just laying there doing nothing except trying to coach the living players. Or the ones who do nothing but repeat “res res”.

I have to disagree with OP. Levelling still is fun for me. I have 20 characters and 18 of them are level 80, all except one I levelled by exploring maps, mostly the starter zones. I reckon if you’re looking to spend less than 100 hours getting to 80, then you’re looking to level too quickly.

Having said that, ArenaNet have provided this thing called a [Tome of Knowldege] which lets any character gain one level instantly. Also, every character on their birthday (both first and second currently) they are given a scroll which levels any character under level 20 to level 20. I am going to end up getting more of these than I can use, so I don’t understand why people complain about levelling being too slow, and I can’t understand what more players who do complain expect ArenaNet to do for them.

I had a long response written up for your post, but then I thought “It’s just not worth it” You probably wouldn’t get it anyway.

My only major dislike for this idea would be summed up in two words. Camera controls. More specifically, the camera controls in this game are……not up to par. I could see it now, hanging precariously from a cliff and all you can see is an outline of your character and the cliff.

That was what I was thinking, initially. Then we had Halloween, so I want to know why Dragon Bash was avoided this year.

I would assume because the first one was quite tied into the defeat of Zhaitan and as such it wouldn’t really make much sense to celebrate the defeat of an Elder Dragon in the middle of the Rise of another one.

While we’re at it, my ranger would like an actual blouse. Not some weird half shirt or quarter shirt, but a blouse. A pair of flats would be nice too. Not sandals mind you, but flats.

What I hope they do is to keep the real level cap at 80, then introduce some kind of secondary levels, perhaps as a secondary class. Telling someone “Your level 80 elementalist is no longer max level. Go gain more levels and then re-earn all your gear” is bad. Telling them “Your level 80 elementalist can now gain some levels as a ranger, and you’ll have the option of equipping medium armor and a long bow, if you care to gain the levels and earn the gear” is a LOT better from a player satisfaction point of view.

I’d like to see this and maybe have (what D&D calls) a prestige class. For example: You have a ranger, cross it with an elementalist to get something akin to an Arcane Archer. Or a thief crossed with a mesmer to get something like a Shadow Dancer.

We already have segregation of the community..they all make their own demands already. Just look at the demands between the “hardcore/elite”and the “casuals” We also already have arguments between who is and isn’t casual. Usually when someone tries to insult someone else. I really don’t care for the idea either way, just saying these things are already happening. So…yeah.

This is not currently an option supported in Guild Wars 2. I am however curious how you would see this functioning. Would it be some sort of keybind toggle, or something else?

In some other games they had the mouse rigged for camera movement. Mouse moves to the left, so does the camera. Didn’t have to press a button to move it, just the mouse. I think Bioshock had that (if you need an example). Yes, I’m aware it’s a different game. I was just using that as an example. I think it may have been hotkeyed but I can’t remember.

I started on NA server but transferred to EU server a few months ago. On the NA server, I found a lot more trolls and jerks. Once I transferred to EU, I didn’t run into as many. As far as lag goes, once support was able to fix my problem, I haven’t noticed any lag. My problem was my router btw. You can change regions, as another poster said, just pull down the drop down box during world selection and pick EU. Of course, you’ll have to pay for the transfer.

I would throw my hat in here as well, however, I’m on EU server. I do keep odd hours though and if you feel like saying hi, if I’m on, feel free to add me.

I hope they bring Lunatics Inquisition back. The only “pvp” I actually like.

You know, when players use terms I don’t like (like slang for homosexuality), I am told ‘language changes, deal with it!’. Now I say the same. I use the term ‘toon’ to mean my character. With it, no one has to look twice to see if I say char or charr. To me (I’m 50 years old, been playing longer than a lot of you have been alive), it is simple, to the point, and it works. I don’t have a ‘main’ to have an ‘alt’. It was ‘toon’ long before anything you like was even thought of.

I remember my husband getting ripped apart for using ‘toon’ in a post. His entire post was disregarded, and all comments were attacks because of that one word. How pathetic can you get?

If I have to deal with your slang, your text speak, your misspellings, and everything else, you can deal with my ‘toon’. If you can’t, then, maybe you need to go make your own game, play a single-player game, or learn to deal with it. If that is the worst problem you have in this game, consider yourself lucky.

Work on a new Magic deck. It’s been a few since I played. I’m thinking something along the lines of a mass destruction deck.

I seriously doubt any of you have tried leveling a character after these changes. Its never been this easy before and if you vets are truly worried about leveling an alt you should be overjoyed. You can do it quicker than ever. I suspect a large portion of the crying is really about key farming becoming more tedious. If you create an alt and somehow find it to be harder because of the skill gating…you just cant be helped. Are you saying you prefer the leveling to be slower but more involved? For me I just want to get my alts to 80 where they can be of the most use to me. I can do that quicker now. I dont need to experience every little thing Ive done 20 times before.

Take a look at the story journal and see what level is required to do the next step in your story. If you’re just starting out then it’s level 10.

I just tried to level an an alt to test the new updates. I have to say, I hate it..a lot. I could’ve beared with it but the level locked weapon skills just kills it for me. Tie that in with the trait overhaul and no…just no. I could only make it to level six before I deleted the character. I don’t plan on leveling another one either.

Oh, and underwater combat skills..level 8………..

If you press g it’ll show you the location of everyone in the guild, including you. I have noticed that if any of my guildies are in an overflow server, it will list the location as overflow.

The most I do now on Gw1 is solo UW for ectos then sell them if people are still looking for them. Not sure about the feather farming anymore. I also haven’t tried a challenge in years. If you would like, I could try to assist in game. I’d need a few to get back in the swing of it though.

How about contribution meters? The more you contribute to the event, the more the meter rises and the more you get at the end. So, if people afk all but the final shot, they rob themselves. Just a thought.

In the last five minutes I crashed to desktop three times in a row. This has been happening now for a couple of days. It has happened in multiple areas of the game, at different times in the day and while doing numerous things. (i.e. from doing a dungeon, heart,de or just standing in town and chatting). The arenanet log is attached.

I for one would not like this. I don’t like PvP or WvW and I really don’t like the whole dueling thing. Last thing I want is someone to spam a duel request while I’m fighting a mob or trying to get a vista “just cuz they can.”

Happened way too much in Rift and I’m very glad it’s not an option here. So..no..just no.

Hmm..I would probably just log on and do what I do normally. I’m not going to get in an uproar over a game that I don’t have to pay a subscription for. That’s just me though.

Dungeons: One Howl from a boss in AC stroy mode. (yes, story mode..not even joking) and two exotics.

Random killspree: A few rares over the course of a week

Champs: One exotic and mostly green and blues. (The green and blues are everyday, the exotic was a one off so far)

World bosses: When i did them, all i got were greens and blues. I haven’t had the inclination to want to do them. I also treat the three headed wurm and that teq thing like the black plague.

Exploration: Completing Frostgorge game me two exotics (seer’s if i remember correctly) a transmute charge and 40 orichalcum ores.

I’m not really a hardcore grinder or anything, I just play to have fun and goof off.

Mystic Forge: 200g, I think it was six exotics total and the rest were rares. (This was maybe two weeks ago)

I’d like to throw my bugged seed into the arena as well. Last patch it was the cultivated seed, now it’s a pet seed. As you can tell from the backpiece in the screenie, it’s not ready for that step yet. It was in my bank during the update. Just in case that makes a difference.

I don’t pvp, in any form. Simply because I would rather not have someone stroking their epein in my face. That and all the commanders seem to know how to do is type in caps, I even avoid them in pve. If someones is a commander that’s in a group with me, I’ll leave. I can’t stand people that try to ruin another persons fun just because their ego is more important.
