$50 for the expansion is expected. Dunno what all the fuss is about.

It’s not JUST the $50… It’s $50 for the Expansion (without an additional character slot) and it includes the Core Game.

Thats the problem…. We already have the core game, we feel like we’re buying it twice and not getting anything to show for it.

Then your playing 50$ for the expansion and getting a free copy of a core game. Often you cant chose to not get a free thing in a bundle to drop the prices with out destroy the ideal of the bundle in the first places.

At this point most ppl who are complaining about this is more complaining that they are getting something for free.

Actually, they are not getting it for free. They will link it to their current account and the “free” core game will not exist. New players will be getting the core game for free.

Is that confirmed? I have a boyfriend that wants the game, while I already have the base game. I was thinking of getting it so that he could have the vanilla game while I get the expansion, but if that’s the case they’ve killed off a potential new player before it could even start.

I’m just going to make this short and sweet. (Just a word of warning: I’m strictly talking about PvE. I don’t WvW and I don’t PvP. I’m not talking about anything for those game modes; I know nothing about either game modes.)

Please, can we at least get an update on the eldritch abomination known as the engineer hobosacks? This thread has well over a thousand posts and ninety thousand views over the time span of nearly two years, and yet it’s been over a full year since there was any post regarding it.

There’s been plenty of suggestions on how to fix it, including toolbar icons like eles, changing the sacks into fanny packs, removing the sacks and giving the engie visually distinct weapons for each kits, or something as simple as giving us the ability to hide the kits like back pieces in PvE. With each update, you guys are adding more and more back piece skins, but you’re locking us out from using them, as engie is more or less reliant on kits to be viable.

Please, just give an updated response about it. The engie community will thank you, even if the response is “too bad, so sad”, as we will at least know not to expect it any more.

I’ve been on the lookout for a good guild to run dungeons with. I do like getting through dungeons, but I’d rather have fun doing it then being serious all the time. I don’t really have the speedclear mentality; I don’t usually use consumables, as i never remember to/care to bring them. I have plenty of characters (warr, guard, engie, ranger, mesmer, ele), and I know just about all of the paths, except for the dungeons I hate (see: CM, TA).

…wow. I wish i could say i was surprised by this, but after this thread existing for a full bloody year, i guess i shouldn’t be too surprised. And to think i was going to grab a few gem shop armors for my engie in a bit..

It wouldn’t break the racial story. As apoc said, all they have to do is reset your personal story down to level 2, remove and/or cut the XP reward in half. Maybe even remove the item rewards from a reset personal story.

And for cultural armor, just convert the armor to the new race’s equivalent; let’s say you’re switching from sylvari to human and have full T3. Upon using a race change consumable, it converts the sylvari T3 to human T3.

I’m sure all of this has probably been suggested before, though. This would be a challenge to make, sure, but not impossible or game breaking. And i know it would sell, because I’ve wanted a race change consumable for some time.. I rerolled my asura guard to norn because i got tired of the asura animations, and I’ve been wanting to reroll my human engie to asura for WvW reasons. I would much rather just change my race then have to reroll a character i already fully geared out in ascended.

They’re obviously cowering in fear of little miss perfect scarlet. It’s a bloody shame too, seeing as they explicitly said that there will NOT be any new zones or any new news about the ED for the rest of this year. And honestly, all they have to do is TEASE about a new dragon champ from an unseen ED (doesn’t even have to be anything major, they could do something like a different kralky champ flying over the black citadel once every couple real life days, or even icebrood being more aggressive in terms of gaining territory) and I’m pretty sure quite a few people will be suddenly hyped about the LS.

My timezone is EST, but my time on is usually sporadic. I have TS3 and a working mic, but can download really any VoIP program. My only real filter for a guild is I’m not looking for a more series dungeon guild or anything of the like.. I’d rather have fun running dungeons with people who aren’t kittens and don’t mind the occasional wipe or slip up then a group of competent players that shuns anyone that’s not playing a certain class or build.

edit: For what it’s worth, i forgot to mention that I’m on Fort Aspenwood.

Unless you’re talking about the little blades on the back of your wrist instead of on the side, I don’t see whats bugged about them. I have them on my ele, and I honestly don’t see anything wrong with them. There is a slight clipping problem with the blades with the arah chest though.

edit: Oh, kitten . I just got the fact that you preview the light skin on your necro but yet it says “preview armor : light” like it was unusable. Odd. As i said, i have them on my ele without any problem. Probably a dumb question, but have you tried equipping them, or are you straight up unable to?

What I actually find as a exploit, however, is what is usually done with Colossus Rumblus on path 3: stacking on a point that is not reached by the big AOE attack.
I don’t know if Grast is properly working tbh (the method could be somehow justified if not), but it’s obvious that there’s a design flaw here that should be fixed.

Grast has been fixed for a couple of months now. All you have to do now is stack on him (grast) and have the guard(s) bring stand your ground and hallowed ground.

This has been happening for quite awhile. This attached photo was taken on july 24th of my grenade pack with jetpack peaking through. IDK how to reproduce it, but it happens A LOT for me as I swap between med-kit/grenade kits often.

afaik, it happens with any armor that has a particle attached to it while stealthed. (Hellfire, Radiant, Fused gauntlets, ect) Don’t quote me on it, but I think I recall having this issue with weapons that have particles (asuran T3 cultural greatsword mainly) as well.

It is a bug though.. If you look closely, you can occasionally see a texture file for someone’s face.

Count me in. I would love to be able to actually see my backpiece on my engie. :c

Just thought i would ask about this.. I just finished up completing world 1 zone 3 on tribulation, and after defeating the frog king, i didn’t get the achievement for completing the zone. I thought that I may get it when the time runs out and transports me to the bonus round with the cart, but I completed that and still no achievement. The kicker though, is that I have the token for completing zone 3.

Is this a known problem, or did i just done goof somewhere along the road?

They don’t despawn at all. And thats what screws everyone over. It’s nearly impossible to recover from the fight if the party wipes, which means you have to re-do the entire path just to be able to fight the tree again with a clean slate.

To make it available on time they need to have been working on BOTH the runs and have them fleshed out if not nearly finished meaning the items, content, actions, layout, backgrounds, NPC’s and any voice acting is most likely complete for both. Or at least on it’s way. Chances are we will get Evon’s fract at some point. Maybe not this year, maybe it will be revamped and presented differently but that lore is there and it kinda needs to be given to us somehow. Maybe we get a whole dungeon run out of it. Story and exp included! You don’t know.

Nope, he (grast) is working for me. I’m pretty sure they fixed it so the moment the howling king does the seismic attack, grast instantly puts the bubble up.

As for actually beating him, just stack near grast. When grast puts up the shield, use any stability skills (stand your ground, hallowed ground, Mantra of Concentration, armor of earth), or if you get knocked out of the bubble, pop any stun breakers while on the ground (shake it off, mist form, Cleansing Fire, ect) and run back into the bubble. Other then that, just dps him down and you’ll be fine…There’s not much else to the fight then staying in the bubble and dpsing him down.

Nothing wrong with you don’t want to do cof. What’s wrong is “you dont’ want other people to run cof”.

Except the problem is that its so fast that it trivializes the point of any other dungeon in terms of making money. Why run any other challenging dungeon that gives sub-par rewards when you can mindlessly farm a much easier dungeon path for ten times the reward? It forces anyone that wants to make a consistent amount of money to either farm it or be left in the dust.

And it IS a problem for everyone that wants to run other dungeons when the majority of the LFG posts are for CoF P1 speed farms.

(For those who don’t know, I’m referring to this spot, where everyone stacks, and because of the way the event works, enemies constantly respawn, resulting in a huge group of players farming countless risen for T6 mats and heavy moldy bags.) Sorry if this has been asked before, but I’ve been curious about this for awhile now, and i couldn’t find any concrete evidence about it. I’ve seen quite a few people say this is exploiting the game, a bannable offense, and I’ve also seen plenty of people say It’s not.

Now, I heard rumors about an anet employee tweeted about plans of nerfing this particular farming spot on the 30’th, but the person who said this also said that they conveniently couldn’t find the employee’s twitter account when i asked for a source.

I highly doubt that this counts as exploitation, but could we get an official word on if it is, just for the sake of putting it to rest?
