Due to a sudden shift in work schedule, I can’t run with my static group any more.
Because of this, I’m looking for a raid guild/group that runs raids early morning or afternoon (9 AM to 4 PM EST). I’ve killed all bosses plenty of times from wing 1 to wing 3, as well as all w4 bosses except deimos (320 something LIs), and can play most roles.
I’m pretty laid back about everything, and not real strict about what people run, as long as they get the bosses downed in a timely matter. Hell, my old static group ran a minstrel ventari rev to help with prot uptime and kickflip absorption on matthias before the recent rev buffs.

Yes this works as you describe it. If one of your equipped sets has an empty slot the game will substitute with an available weapon on the other set, in this case your sword.
Since the game internally checks what weapons you will hold after swapping, it will trigger the sigill because you will have your sword afterwards, as well as either your shield or your focus. You won’t need a second sword.

Do weapon swap sigils have to be on the weapon you swap to, or can it be on the set you swap to? IE, can i put a sigil of concentration on my sword for chrono, and swap between shield on weapon set 1 and a lone focus, on weapon set 2 to proc the bonus?
Just tried a fresh install for gw2 as well, and still no dice. The only way i can play is to launch the -repair shortcut every time before launching.
edit:creating a shortcut and adding the -32 command line seemed to have fixed it for now.

Worked perfectly before today’s patch. The client loads, and boots into what i assume is character select. I hear the character select music, and i can press enter, causing the music to stop playing, as if i selected a character. I can still see the GW2 cursor. I can hold down M1, causing the cursor to disappear, like i was spinning a character around.
This happens for both 32 bit and 64 bit clients. OS is windows 10 64 bit. I have tried -repair on both 32 bit and 64 bit versions, and it does fix it for a short amount of time; but after i close the client and relaunch after a successful boot, it reverts back to the white screen problem.
I assume this has something to do with the fact that 64 bit client just came out of beta.. does anyone have any ideas to get around this?

Obviously I go into this knowing that some players will be very upset. That’s why it’s such a tough decision.
Ankdarkwolf, Darkmikau, Ballads, Spira, Caerbannog, Cysgod, you each posted a variant of an accusation I’ve seen many times over the past few months on the forums, something along the lines of, “AN shipped half an expansion with HoT.” I take issue with that. We shipped a new region full of content, a new mastery system, gliding, guild halls, a new profession, nine new elite specializations for existing professions, and more. Then we shipped precursor journeys for existing legendaries, and said, “We’ve been working hard on new legendary weapons, the first handful of which will be introduced in Heart of Thorns, with more to come in subsequent updates.” While I fully get that you’re disappointed today, this is not about us shipping half an expansion pack.

you’re right. You shipped 30% of an expansion. We’re still waiting on: legendary backpiece, fractal leaderboards, third raid wing, legendary armor, all of the new legendary weapons, the wvw rework (which btw, congrats on killing WvW; everyone was telling you in the wvw beta that the new maps were terrible, and it would backfire completely if you launched them as they were), the scribe rework, so it wouldn’t cost a left arm and your kidney, You killed dungeons completely, making sure the ONLY REASON to ever run them is, ironically enough, going for a gen 1 legendary weapon. And while not promised with HoT, you need to work on new fractal instances, rework on most of the fractal instabilities.
The story in HoT was complete garbage; it had the biggest deus ex machina that i’ve EVER SEEN, and the ending just YELLS of of a story that met the chopping block just so you guys can release the expansion early. There’s all of the bugs that you have yet to fix, like the entire instance of hearts and minds for example, as well as all of the looped map events.
This expansion is the VERY DEFINITION OF AN UNFINISHED EXPANSION. I don’t know how you could EVER think that it’s a finished piece of work.

are..you serious? Anet straight up LIED about the new legendary weapon releases. They said, and i quote, “we will be releasing new legendary weapons in small groups at regular intervals until the full set of sixteen has been added to the game.” It’s been FIVE MONTHS since HoT dropped, and they’ve given us THREE. It’s been what, TWO MONTHS since they released the first set of weapons? And now, they’re adding ONE new weapon (not even mentioning the fact that only TWO CLASSES can even USE shortbow), and then say that they cant be bothered to make any more, and instead want to focus on the LIVING STORY? How about anet actually produces the content that we PAID FOR?
And yet, here we are. Still getting black lion skins, gliders and outfits that they’re proudly selling in the gem shop. It sure looks like they’re down on manpower. Anet, and by extension, GW2, is nothing short of a joke now.
tbh, i’m pretty sure this is grounds for suing them for false advertisement.

Anyway…this sorta grew into a bit of a rant. Tl;dr: Balance in this game has the vision and resolve of twitch plays pokemon.
i… i dont think i could ever think of a more apt analogy of anet’s balance team, or just anet in general.

how about fixing the absolute train wreck that is hearts and minds? it’s a buggy mess; there’s no motes to reset achievements, there’s no anvil in the instance, so if you’re doing migraine and don’t have repair canisters, you’re pretty much boned. so many things can bug out, like canach not losing his damage reduction after being hit by his shield during the last phase, mordy spawning rifts off the platform, rifts not removing the invuln buff, the updrafts during the gliding section just straight up don’t work very often, you name it. In fact, i just recently discovered that during the mordy fight, the clones don’t have their conditions purged after hitting 10% and the rift opens. This results in the rift not actually switching them to your team, meaning mordy takes 0 damage and is immune to condis.
It’s been like this since HoT launched, and AFAIK, there hasn’t been one SINGLE POST from anet, talking about the plethora of issues this instance alone has.

This is merely a clarification of rules that already exist. Griefing is and always has been punishable. Anet wants players to report any form of griefing, not just Star Wars griefing. Why would you think otherwise?
because plenty of people ran around and spoiled HoT’s story. They didn’t get banned. I personally know a few people who actively did it, and they’re still playing to this day. If anet isn’t going to ban people spoiling THEIR OWN GAME, why would they ban people spoiling some movie?
so, leeme get this straight: instead of reporting and banning instance hijackers or genuine map griefers, you want people to report other people who spoil a MOVIE that’s not, in any way, shape or form related to GW2, to CS so you can ban them.
uh, really? are you really sure THAT’s what you should have CS be focusing on? Actually, There’s an idea! You guy’s didn’t ban ANYONE when they were trolling in map chat by spoiling HoT’s story. Why didn’t you ban them?

Calm down a second. an anet employee had said that this is a bug, and that they are looking into it.
With that said though, i really do hope they don’t take longer then a couple of days to fix this.. this is quite literally a game breaking bug if the bugged spirits are the ones that spawn during world eater.

It doesn’t have anything to do with allowing you to play the way you want and so I’d like to share some insight into why we made the change.
We’re actually perfectly okay with players not interrupting a break bar. However what we’re not okay with is having all the deadly mechanics of the encounter removed during this period. Honestly that’s really just an oversight on my part in how I built the encounter. This was the most simple change we could make that was relatively low impact.
If you don’t want people to use his channel as free makeshift DPS phase, why not change it so he still does at LEAST the teleports during the channel, and keep the auto-break at or around 30 seconds? for a good dps phase during that, you have to kite the seekers away (cant use ANY hard CC, except for single target fear (necro DS/RS 3 and knockbacks ranger LB4. you also have to be mindful of mesmer TWs, as slow will do a good amount of damage to his bar), keep up the rotations from each segment of the arena all the while dodging/mitigating the AoE’s damage. Now, with all of that going on, you would also have to worry about teleports AND the potential of having vale in a bad section when he auto-breaks, causing a circle to spawn in a lit up segment of the arena.
Or perhaps give him a stacking buff that grants some form of stronger retal that lasts ONLY during the channel, so you can still get some fair amount of damage off, but you have to be really mindful of you and your teams health.

SW farming or play the TP. Anet actively shuns any form of making money through playing the game, instead opting for AFKing in cities while attempting to flip things, or doing brainless actions, like farming SW breaches + VWs.
you’re putting WAY too much thought into this. I’m willing to bet that anet just rushed the story because of some stupid reason, and added too many fragmented plot points and lore inconsistencies.
What about how every dragon has a weakness? we starved zhaitan to the ground, destroyed his army production site, and cooked him alive by firing LAVA at him after CUTTING HIS TAIL OFF.
And then there’s kralky: snaff forcibly grounded him via mind control, which let plenty of people wail on him. At least until logan happened.
Now, i’m no expert. But being the victim of such a severe guerrilla-tactic attack and then was shot at by lava, or being attacked by a group of people while being rendered completely immobile isn’t exactly a specific weakness unique to a single dragon.

Hey everyone, I have an update regarding the availability of raids.
Due to the issues we experienced yesterday with the Enhance Squad UI and with further internal discussion, we have made the very difficult decision to keep raids turned off for the remainder of the beta weekend.
We are continuing to investigate the issues and also looking into options that would allow us to get more testing on these features before we release.

Anyway, this change was long overdue. One skill shouldn’t have had such a huge impact.
But now I do hope we get changes to make Conjures more worth slotting. Earth Shield stun break would be a good start, followed by AoE effect when a Conjure is summonmed.
huge impact on what? PvE? That is only 1/3 the game, screw PvE. It destroyed it for WvW and most importantly sPvP. It was an absolute risk to take it in sPvP and now there is zero reward for being rooted.
Pve is much more important than both www and pvp, 50% nerf on 4th skill is very good, but they should nerf 5th skill because it makes boss battles very stupid.
Lol, good one. Name a single paid tournament for PvE? Compare twitch viewership for sPvP to PvE channels. Yeah, more important my kitten .
which side of the game has more content? how much content is pve focused on the upcoming expansion? how much pvp content is being added in the expansion? how much more people play pve then pvp?

As the title says, I’m looking for an active guild that regularly does dungeons and/or fractals; they don’t have to be the guild’s main focus. Having a VoIP server and guild missions would be a plus, but I’m just mainly looking for a chill place to run dungeons that aren’t up tight about “the meta” or efficiency.
currently have 13 80’s spread across all classes. I know how to play all classes decently well (truth be told, I don’t really play thief, as it’s a bit boring for my taste). Currently in EST time zone, and I’m usually on either earlier in the day or later in the evening.
The infinite tools really should be an account unlock you can spawn as many of as you want, but then Anet would lose the sweet, sweet whale money from the fools willing to buy a set for every character so obviously we can’t have any of that.

honestly, i would buy a full set right now with $$$ if they were like the zenith skins. but till then, i refuse to buy any of them
looks like they also broke the predator aura while wielding it. footsteps are still there, but the aura doesn’t show up consistently post-patch. :/

But the OP was saying guild chat should be open for him/her to use, and if it were open for him/her to use it would be open for the rest of his/her guild as well and thus guild chat would not in fact be empty.

He’s right, sharing what we see could make for a lot of good word of mouth for the class (with the opposite also true to be fair)Revenants can’t represent guilds, because then they’d be able to place items in guild banks, which would circumvent their current “No Trading Post/Mail” restrictions to keep them from moving items from their soon-to-be-deleted inventories into the wide game world beyond.
It’s something they might work on in the future, but right now that’s why you can’t represent a guild.
lol thats an absolutely terrible excuse. no rewards, no progression, no guild. Its like every reason for playing the game is removed.
except this revenant test isnt made for progression, but rather to TEST the revenant and for anet to get feedback about the revenant.

- you removed the animation of grenade barrage with legendaries. please revert this, it’s very very very very very annoying and i miss my grenade animations of the predator. we already have less animations with legis, don’t take us the few we have

You can clearly see the aura on my engie, so the barrage effect is just straight up broken.

They did say that prepurchasing the expansion before release would give you an extra character slot.. if it’s possible, all they’d have to do is convert the beta character slot to a regular slot.
Would be a hell of a reason to buy the Expac though…
That it would. It would actually be a pretty interesting choice if they choose to release revenant early in it’s whole (minus the elite traitline, for obvious reasons) for those who prepurchase, under the condition that they make it painfully obvious that there’s going to be a lot of potential balance sweeps for it.

it’d be nice, but that’s simply not going to happen; mainly because they’re still in the process of making the revenant. they have another trait line to reveal, i’d assume some weapons to reveal, and an entire elite specialization to reveal. not to mention all of the balance testing they’d have to run for the traits and weapons, as well as the rev’s interaction with the 8 other classes.
