I can only speak for my own server – Aurora Glade – we may be near the bottom of the table, but its a numbers problem and not a skill, dedication, or commitment problem.
We are skilled players, hearty fighters, and if you are looking for a challenge I would recommend joining us. Given a few good men, we will go far.
Every problem I have seen, from hacked accounts to Bots has been dealt with.
I have no doubt its going to be a constant war, but one which Anet is taking very seriously.
If you dont find a guild on Gandara, then Aurora Glade has several good guilds.
We are a small(ish) server, but the community we have is generaly good.
Some active guilds listed on our community site – www.auroraglade.eu
The Glade is mobilising
What we lack in numbers we make up for in prowess.
My fellow AG’ians, if you havent already, plz check out the community site. Our Alliance for the WWW Guilds is growing, but we still have a long way to go.
www.auroraglade.eu
Folks, we have a dedicated community site now for all of Aurora Glade.
If you are looking for a Guild, on Aurora Glade, here is a good place to try.
And Guild Leaders, feel free to advertise your guild on the site.
www.auroraglade.eu
The site is really starting to take off now, not simply because I just joined, I am only one of 231 Gladians.
All Aurora Glade players should sign up here, its our site for our community, for our server.
Hi fellow Gladian,

Might be a good place to look
Hi folks,
I have wrote a fictional newspaper for the Queensdale area, the articles are inspired and based on the region of Queensdale and the city of Divinity’s Reach
I have tried to include actual game news and events, and wrote them in the style of an paper that might circulate in the area.
I hope you enjoy. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

I dont know if its the best MMO, but it certainly hits a lot of right spots for me, and nobody can deny it is inovative in certain designs.
I was recently asked by ex guildies if I was going to return to a certain other mmo which has just gone f2p, I replied GW2 is my home now
I would.
I have a pc at my work desk and tend to watch a lot of videos when I get sick of the radio. Although I mainly watch longer stuff so I dont have to keep clicking back on the screen
I got two rares, which I will probably break down for materials and sell the Ecto, so 40s + anything on the upgrade components.
Two exotics, sold one (an ogre slaying pistol) for I think around 60s, keeping the other as it is an armour piece I could possibly use.
Equipt the shell and of course the backpack.
Think I made around 1g 50s if I sell them all.
Nothing compared to the 5g I got for selling the Mad Kings Gown
Yeah I agree.
I spent a lot of the event trying to fight invisible monsters, and a couple of days back ran into an invisible army and promptly died in www
Hopefully they can address this problem in due course
Had a great time, loved the event.
Sure it could be better (lag fest at points), but for a start up game, things can only get better!
I read the entrie post, and gl to you sir.
I feel you have already made your mind up that you are not going to get a group, and are going to troll this thread.
I would advise maybe joining a guild and running with guildies or friends
If I have friends or guildies on and I get a game in 5 minutes, does that have any more or less sway than your own experiment?
Only had time to play two levels, but both of them I was VERY impressed with
7am… and you got nobody.. 7am.. ?
8.50am and still nobody..
Are you serious or trolling. What do you expect at a time where maybe 1% of the population is online?
Personally I log in maybe 9.30 and first thing I do is my dailies…
Howdy folks, I tried google for this but couldnt find anything so posting here.
I have a busy weekend and have been trying to do this event, but standing at a buggy npc for ages is not my idea of fun. I have Noll/Canach/Fahd still to do, but I honestly dont think I have the patience.
I am just wondering if there is anything amazing I would miss out on if I didnt get this event done. Please dont get me wrong, I am not a ‘carrot on a stick’ type of player, I enjoy the game and play for entertainment.
Does anybody know what the end results are? Can I still fo Fractels and the Island event at some point, even if I dont finish this investigation?
Thanks in advance
Swoo.. you are spot on with your point.
I posted something similar a while back when they claimed something was ‘based on player feedback’.
I’ve never been asked anything, and I get the picture that the feedback they mention is ‘he who shouts the loudest on the forums’
Such ‘feedback’ that destroys games….
Credit for Support
I remember a thread a while back that said they would be looking at ways to credit people for support actions in DE’s, as the credit award system is based on doing physical damage. Those of us who play support builds (and take time to res people) dont get credit as we are not contributing damage
Kinda spoils the event a little… Defend, then next day Retake?
So… we lose the defence then….
Well…

At least we know the community is still very much alive and active for GW2
#alwaysasilverlining
The trouble I see is player greed.
People want all the bonus from flags that a big guild can give.
The actual system is fine. With a multi guild system you can represent specialist guilds and normal guilds. For instance I am in a social guild, but when I want to share a tag with a pro pvp guild I switch over, without quitting on my friends.
the guild shows that there are 320/500 members online, and your other one you are in has 20/120 then… well.. you can pretty easily figure where the average person will go.
So, you still say its a problem with the mechanic and not with the player?
Tell me the difference between a tradtional method, of accept and /gquit to join another,
And to answer your previous, yes I have been a guild leader (swtorguild.co.uk), same user name, at one point we had 250 members, which we whittled down to 60 actives. We then took those 60 activies and cut it down again to around 25 genuine active, social members.
Those 25 made the guild, those 225 we lost along the way did not. Players make a guild not mechanics
Its not the mechanics or the function that is at fault. Its the human element.
When Guild Leaders are obsessed with recruiting every stranger they meet just to get numbers, you can expect very little coherency.
A good guild takes time to develope
Queesndale run.. anti clockwise from Div’s Reach
Head into the cave and swing round the mine, that way. There are multiple events that have a chance of starting, and a variety of creatures (start with Bats/Golems/Harpies, move to the river drakes, scales, moas, onto Bandits)
Its not a server population problem, its a player problem.
The majority of people simply camp in Orr, farming.
Try posting in the Guild section of this forum, looking for a casual guild, in my experience casuals tend to play events for fun rather than farm.
First time I saw the Shadow Behemoth (Secrets in the Swamp, Queensdale) I was literally like WOW!
Good fight, especially for a starting zone and introduction to the game.
Fighting the dragon Tequatl was also good, but I kinda blew the awesomeness of the fight by watching youtube videos of it long before I ever made it to that zone.
Lacking? By what standards.
Measure it against the ‘traditional’ sense of endgame (raiding and gear progression), then yes GW can be seen to be lacking.
But GW2 is not that type of game, its a different breed.
The world is MASSIVE and the stuff to do is so long, it would take ages to participate in everything.
Hmm.. tough question..
I think the Centaurs are due to rise, Harpies could be good but they need to organise a lot, some of the other mini Factions (Inquest, Nightmare Court etc) could be a good fight if they ever get the power boost they need.
I know who I dont like fighting – the Human Seperatists in the Charr zones, kinda sympathise with them. Also killing Skrit feels kinda wrong…

Pure, dead, evil. You are doing them a favour putting them out of their misery, and your helping the cause by defeating the dragons minions.
8/10
Probably would have gave it a 9, if they had kept the pvp mini games lol
The game is literaly huge, but…
A lot of people need some form of ‘reward’, playing for fun doesnt seem to cut it at all these days. I feel you fall into this catergory, so it doesnt matter much what anyone will say, if you are bored you are bored.
Personally I would recomend pvp, especially www, taking part in epic battles is a real good brawl. Or, explore. Go places, especially around the edge of maps and mountains, the game has a lot of hidden areas.
You mention DE’s, go to a new zone and play ones you havent yet. With 1500 DE’s I find it hard to believe that anyone has done them all.
If you are stuck for players, add me and transfer to Aurora. I am 80 but play through lots of low regions all the time
Done everything, except the Clock Tower, I am no good at jumping puzzles. Once I feel I need a break from the new pvp, I will attempt the Clock Tower, while drinking lots of beer.. that way when I fail, I will at least find it amusing!
Yes! Keep both games.
Halloween was excellent, plz dont waste all that dev time and talent! Keep the mini games!
And.. on a personal note, plz release the Hunger Games event! I wasnt in Beta but that game looked great
I was watching a recent gamebreaker.tv video and they were discussing the ‘Halloween Chest’ debacle, and they happened to comment on the number of replies and views on a specfic thread.
And I thought, hold on, those numbers are not truely reflective of the issue. The problem is they include anyone just browsing, and anyone who replies, regardless of what they say/how they stand on the issue.
Thats a problem in general for this forum, we have no way of showing our feelings, or how much we agree with or disagree with the post. Instead by simply commenting on a thread regardless of the content, that thread appears to be ‘popular’.
For instance if I made a thread with the title ‘I hate GW2’ could have 500 views, 49 replies saying, ‘I disagree, I love it’ and 1 person saying ‘Yeah I hate GW2’, but it would appear to anyone skipping over that the thread was negative and had support.
Im not against people posting real problems by any means, but I am tired of logging in to the forum, and seeing the titles of all threads negative at the top, and if I want to add my voice, for or usually against, it simply bumps the thread back to the top!
It would be nice to see some kind of rating, so I can avoid troll posts
Logged on this morning to new events in Queensdale.
Thought to myself, I love the way this game is going!
At level 47 where are you going that costs so much!?
I can only imagine you bob all over the map using WP’s. Try walking instead.
I am level 80 and tend to use WP’s only to move to zones that are far away Lions Arch to Malchors Leap for example (costs around 2s).
But as for costs, honestly, kill stuff, one decent fight and thats your WP paid for. 5 minutes gameplay tops
Sorry if there is a thread on this already, I looked but couldnt find one.
Plz keep the pvp games after Halloween! Change them in some format if you have to but keep them available.
I hear a lot from the Dungeon runners crying for more dungeons, but dont forget about us casuals who enjoy mini games.
The design and dev time has been spent, dont just discard all that good and hard work.
PS. Plz also release the ‘Hunger Games’ from Beta. I never got a chance to play it, but I watched the videos and it looked great.
Looking good so far! Thanks guys, keep up the good work!
I gave the forums a wide berth while this event started as I expected a whole lot of complaining.. now I see the fallout, and well…
Do these people never think?
I used to buy a lot of ccg when I was younger and on each pack, the approx odds of pulling a special card where clearly stated. OP is perfectly right, all this could have been avoided by simply stating ‘The approx odds of a BLC containing a Halloween skin is 1/25’
No doubt you have seen it – two NPC’s locked in a fight to the death between each other, regardless of player interaction as you walk by, and I got to wonderig if this is constant even if no player ever sees them. Will the AI/game/NPC’s fight constantly or is it only triggered when a player is in view?
I wonder because some of the things I have seen…
A Risen Brute, attacking a rabbit. Will the rabbit die everytime it spawns?
Two children in a snowball fight, both children threw the snowballs at the same time, knocked each other down, stood up, threw again, repeat. Off peak when there are very few players (2am), are these children locked in a perpetual snowball fight?

You can use the pvp locker to preview skins, or search the web, there are a few good sites that preview all the armours in the game.
Depends on what you are after really, I wanted plate for my Guardian, so most of my armour is Karma vendor skins (had to treck all over the place to collect them lol)
Agreed. A lot of stuff isnt meant to be solo, and some stuff clearly is not solo
But the majority is.
But the game is far better with a social crowd, so anyone who needs help, please feel free to add me ingame, and if you want to transfer to Aurora Glade, we can party toghether!
Last post here, as I dont like to get dragged into discussion with peoples whose minds are already made up…
With the exception of World Events, most Dynamic Events are playable solo. Even some champions can be killed solo.
In any other game that requires ‘group’ activity, be that 8 man raids or whatever, its GROUP activity. You may as well complain to the Football Federation that you cant play football by yourself.
Maybe try..
Saturday Night, 0230 still drinking beer in the club
Sunday, lunch time, waking up.
Honestly 0730 on a Sunday morning and there are no players on? Who would have thought that…
Dynamic Events, especially some of the Meta Events, which can lose if you dont have the players.
My personal fav – Malchors Leap: Citadel of Eternal Radiance. Off peak
With a handful of people, you can greater appreciate the events design, and combat and the need for speed is far better for immersion
Only you can answer the question of ‘Is the game for you’.
200hrs in and I am just beginning to appreciate how epic the game is and having trouble finding the time to pvp and www, which I love.
I think the beauty of the game lies in the no subscription and its constant development. Take a break, come back for Halloween, take another break and come back when you feel like it.
There is no pressure in the game
Firstly let me say, Im tired of all the negativity and trolling, if you dont want to contribute to this post, please move on.
Having just broke my 200hr mark, level 80 for a couple of weeks, with 30% map completion I decided to walk out of my comfort zones (playing the DE’s I like, in the areas I know) and explore other areas, and…. wow, the game is sooo much larger than I had imagined!
So, with just the basic 25 zones, and from an explorers frame of mind, how many hours do you think, theoretical, it would take to fully explore and appreciate JUST the pve in GW2?
By this I mean, participate in all the DE’s and Meta Events, explore all the vistas, poi, skill challenges, hearts AND all the hidden/unmarked areas and caves.
My guess is 502.
500 for the content, and 2 hrs to climb random mountains and high places, to marvel at the view!
I believe you can get Seraph armour through Karma vendors.
