Since the feature pack for a while pvp was better than ever, I always liked bigger matches and finding 10v10 games wasn’t so easy before the change, then for a time it became standard…. More recently however the only matches that appear that aren’t boring 5v5s when I check are these stupid rank farms! I have no interest in playing these as it defeats the purpose of playing at all, it has harmed the community & I’d like to see these gone and not have to keep hitting the report button, if Anet even pays any attention, perhaps not or they wouldn’t have existed in the first place! At first when the legit 10v10 arenas vanished I would grit my teeth and play the 5v5s to get my dailies and monthlies but now I can’t be bothered anymore, a pity as the dungeon tracks are lucrative, a chunk of my Ascended drops were from these! Yet that is the problem, these lowlives are exploiting this generous reward system leaving the rest of us that actually want to play proper matches stuck with 5v5s.
PvP was already a questionable chunk of the game in how well balanced it is, I never will call it sPvP seeing as it’s far from structured, newcomers to an in progress match will side with the winning team imbalancing the match further, the ‘autobalance’ is useless and just rewards the glory seekers by giving them volunteer credit so the outcome of the match is a win always for them! So aside from good sportsmanship there’s no reason at all to balance teams! Right now I’d be happy to even get 8v8 games like how it was before the change, congrats with the update, in the first few months you have destroyed PvP! Removing Raid of the Capricorn was a poor choice as having at least some underwater combat gave PvP a bit more variation, something it lacks, the TDM map however was a good addition, quite boring having these domination checkpoints in every other map… So Anet, don’t pat yourselves on the back for the feature pack just yet, you still have a lot of things to fix!
Well everyone I’ve been fortunate I missed out on major TP issues since the big update, on the whole it’s an improvement however the new traits UI sucks, what was wrong with the pull down system? Also the hero UI involves too much clicking, anyway about the TP. It’s a little slow to load at times though that’s no worse than it’s always been, the gamma issue still happens but worst is the 2 line prices still persists grr.
While Anet were faster by far fixing this recent issue with certificates, which I wasn’t affected by luckily maybe simply cos I wasn’t active during that time, I cannot say thanks as they have gave us no compensation for the issues over the last two weeks.
Oh and the new megaservers has only made towns become new LA’s in being overpopulated and slow to load argh but hey, let’s see what the free key gives!
(MBP 8.1, OS Lion I’ve had very few mac beta specific problems over the year I’ve been here so I have a hunch the beta maybe works best with 10.7 as it was made specifically for that OS, maybe we need a poll for what OS we run and how well the beta runs at least gives us some idea where the strengths and (many) weaknesses are for the beta, certainly not suggesting to change OS just for one game btw!)
(edited by Yifang.8260)
How did expose work? Also I take it you are avoiding mavericks for some reason hehe. $19.99 is very reasonable is cheaper than this game anyway! Half the price. Is an unrelated query but I am not able to decrease my bootcamp partition anymore yet I was able to last year, any ideas? I can decrease my main OS in the disk utility but it won’t let me make it larger though much of the bootcamp is still unused, hence why I want to reduce it.
Sadly the two line price bug still persists….
Same boat except my windows side is 160gb, think I should reduce that drastically as I hardly use it now. I also have 500gb total. Not sure if having less memory affects performance for an OS but it is recommended to have as much free space as possible. Yes a big reason I got this game was cos a mac version existed, I refuse to play windows only games these days unless it’s an older game I had prior to getting the mac.
Snow leopard would be 32bit if it’s 2009-10. Personally I much prefer Windows xp to 7, far more efficient, was closer to how the Mac OS ran in my eyes at least in being easy to use with less resources.
What about tiger? And you’d have thought tiger would have came after Lion as it is the mightiest big cat. Tiger was 10.4 right?
I had this after trying the workaround suggested to fix the trading post. We were told to rename the client, run a new installation and quit while the new client is patching, then delete it AND rename the old client back to its’ first name. I had that error message but a restart solved it and it hasn’t happened since. I assume it’s a registry error, it only happened to me with the renaming client thing. Strange as macs usually are fine without restarts after a change happens, unlike the inferior windows counterparts that need a restart for everything!
Was Snow Leopard the best? Lion is my main and I only became a main mac user in 2012, is pretty stable overall the OS itself has never crashed the way windows invariably will at some point. Do wonder why Apple releases new OS X’s so fast they exhausted the big cat list.
Amongst professional Snow Leopard is regarded as the best os ever made. It was robust and offered complete stability. For a musician or a graphic designer that was it, nothing ever crashed (unless pushed beyond memory limit).
Lion was a huge step down (specially after they messed up exposé and replaced it with mission control), they improved a lot of Lion’s problems with Mountain Lion but it is still a buggier os than Snow Leopard. Maverick is still full of bugs, one of them is the “super-slow-finder” bug where you have to wait up to 10 seconds for the content of a folder to show up.
I see, I missed out then, joined the ranks of the macs after the great Steve Jobs died, I named my mac after him to honour him as it’s a late 2011 model ^^. Snow leopards are amazing cats!
Sadly I also have a tp that’s in limbo, great fix Anet! 3 restarts, nothing and I will be displeased if I miss the promotional offers. Not liking the new UI for the wardrobe etc either, yet some of us do have a fully functional tp. Perhaps it’s the tp being buggy rather than the mac client this time, either way I’m taking a break as this is irritating. Games are meant to be fun! Did hope I wouldn’t need to check back here ever again, sure I am a dreamer…
Funnily just as I’m sending this the tp magically woke up so it may be a tp issue rather than a dud mac beta, at least in this case. Time to learn the new traits system, I have mixed feelings about it so far.
Kitten are you able to run the game with OS X pre Lion? If so that’s good news as the previous ‘fix’, which failed needed at least Lion, luckily which I have.
(edited by Yifang.8260)
Won’t risk it to be honest. I’ve seen posts where after trying to fix it manually their entire client stops working all together. I’m just going to hope that Anet patches it up during the update :L
Mine did but a computer restart fixed that, the fix isn’t instant may take several restarts of the game before the lion finally wakes up and commences trades again.
Aye worst is if it was working fine then later decides to not behave, especially when you are encumbered, I like being about to use this on the go but I have noticed games that have fixed trading posts and merchants in towns are far stabler.
Interesting set up Actinotus, perhaps I need to think about it, would perhaps cut down my fan grating, my mac doesn’t get hot as such but the fan noises are annoying. I was super unlucky in uni where I had a 6-8hr project corrupt itself (a Director movie/game) and even the backup corrupted itself. The lecturer was pretty bad and did not make any allowances on that…

to all those that Sarah’s rename/partial download/delete/rename is not working for:
first, are you sure you did it right? (you do not need to download the entire 20GB update)
second: what version of OSX are you running?
It seems like this works in OS 10.9 (Mavericks) but not 10.7 and earlier?
The wiki says GW2 requires 10.7 or later, so I guess that would mean that 10.7 is no longer supported?
Wrong it does still support OS Lion, be silly if it didn’t being called Black Lion trading post. 10.7 is Lion btw, which is what I’m on. The workaround may take some time but it’s not very complicated, be sure to hit cmd+q when the patching is starting, revert back to the old client (which may not work without a reboot as in my case)…
The tp fixes may take several minutes and game restarts to work too so it’s not a seamless fix, not sure why this fixes the issues we’ve had, Sarah said it gets us the new security certificates or something, accepts them or whatever, so good to know I’m not the only one who has seen some improvements with the newest patch, some optimisation at last seems to have found its way to the mac community!
Last year I was quite grateful we had an mmo of this calibre for the Mac, certainly grateful isn’t the word now, last year I had very little to say with exclusive Mac issues for the game (First gripe was not being able to use the mouse wheel but that was fixed after some forum digging), this year nearing the end of scarlet…. Even so I wasn’t really hit hard till the tp debacle.
For all users with a bad data package, highly not recommended for online gaming I can’t speak for outside UK but where I am totally unlimited packages are pretty cheap, my ISP has been excellent for the most part have had very few downtimes, their failure was delivering me a new router in 2011, 4 days to send out at all needed to remind them AND one of their agents hung up on me, their choice of courier, Yodel also sucked so bad, 2 weeks total waited!! Stuck at home during daytime for 2 weeks I was! Recalling that Anet doesn’t seem so bad now!
Bear in mind that there’s a good chance Anet is going to wreck something again tomorrow. And no bs please, Sarah. We’ve heard that “Thank you for you patience, we’re still working on getting the patch ready” million times, so no thanks.
As I expect too, if past records are to go by, usually several new builds are released within hours of the latest updates. This is no small update either, biggest to date for sure it sounds. The free repair canisters are kinda less useful now as repair costs will be a thing of the past, yay! Sarah did at least pass on a workaround that has helped at least half of us here so I give her some credit and I like the name Sarah mostly cos of the blonde from Virtua Fighter hehe
(edited by Yifang.8260)
The right amount of resources certainly hasn’t been met as it’s still an issue, though we did get a workaround 5 days into this mess, many users still cannot use the tp. Can’t say for sure how hard they have worked on it even if they are moving heaven and earth now clearly there was some weakness in what they did in the past or else it wouldn’t have become such a problem. Maybe they will get a bigger mac team in future and we’ll have a brilliant experience but that remains to be seen. Be useful if we knew just how many of the millions of Tyrians play the mac beta and how large the mac support staff are, at the very least we have a slightly better idea where we stand. If they are stretched too thin sure that’s no consolation but at least we can plan better for any future crises… 5days is enough time for a mini holiday, or people could have done some overtime at work if they knew it would take days for any simple solutions…
I don’t think some compensation is even generous in this case as I’ve been in several games that did compensate when servers were bad etc, yet to see this from Anet myself. I’d still rate this as my best mmo game to date despite some grievances, I’m not going to quit if we get f all as compensation but never underestimate the power of word of mouth, sure someone here said so what if a few of us leave cos of this it affects no one, well if they tell all their circle this bad experience it may spread and prevent some future customers for the game… We can forgive mistakes but how someone tries to make amends is what we judge and again I think people have been very reasonable here with their complaints, even the most heated posts I can’t fault.
Well I’d be in a better mood if not for the fact it took me over 30mins to get past yet another email authentication, a minute is usually enough, finally got past it just as I pretty much fill out a form to send to support… I merely wanted to just add this post but now I learned even the forums may require authentication from time to time?!
All in all though if we’re to keep playing this game we have still have some hope in Arena Net handling things better, we’ll find out soon how good this feature pack is. Hopefully I won’t need to come to the forum to report new bugs…
(edited by Yifang.8260)
At least for a few of us this recent patch has improved the game though it didn’t fix the tp issue, still faster loading and a slightly better frame rate is welcomed though is unfortunate pre Lion OS X’s aren’t able to play it.
You know… I start to doubt that the patch they released earlier today was a fake patch. For? To make them appearing as if they were constantly working over the weekend. That “oh we have tried so hard to find the solutions… and here goes your patch. What? It doesn’t work? That’s unfortunate…let me try harder”.
And I know this might be unfair to many Anet staff, but come on… who is treating us fairly when you have all the windows clients to take care with. Sorry Anet, you guys never convinced me that work has been done over the past weekend.
I think they’ve been working on it, it’s probably just a really weird issue. I’ve had idiotic issues come up when I’ve done my own programming where I know the codes works, I’ve reread the lines, had someone else read them, then I run the program and it works. But once I send my friend the code and he runs it, it breaks. I’m just really hoping for a fix by Tuesday. In the end, as I’ve said before, I’ve found other stuff to do like school work, normal work, other games, etc. But I know this is frustrating. At least we aren’t the ones that have to fix it.
Brings me back to my first project, I had compile errors no one was able to work out, not my lecturer or the best programming students in my year. One day by hitting the end key (Which doesn’t exist on MacBooks hehe) I found I had a huge space on one line, no one would notice as spaces are blank! After I deleted the big line of space (which was due to me leaving my book on the keyboard) the program compiled!
So far this temporary fix not only has my tp working albeit with that display error persisting the game seems to run better than before as well, higher fps and faster loading!
Oh goody, brand new problem.
Thanks to the update I can’t play the game period. The update requires OSX 10.7.5 or later. I’m running 10.6.8.
I know that technically we’re supposed to run 10.7 for the game, but up until just now running older versions worked just fine.
So, note for all older mac users: 10.6.8 is no longer a usable OS. Gotta go buy a new one.
You can upgrade to Mavericks for free.
The problem with Mavericks is it does not work or causes several issues with many older applications. So if you have several hundred or thousand dollars invested in software that’s not compatible with Mavericks, upgrading to it is NOT and option. But you can still purchase OS 10.7, and 10.8 at the Apple Store (for 19.99) and check compatibility with older applications like Photoshop CS 5, etc.. at roaringapps.com. This way one can check to see what they can safely upgrade too, without invalidating an older application they have on their Mac’s.
For me personally I had to purchase OS X 10.7 and have to wait to get the email key from Applestore to install it before I can play this game again. As I only have a few older applications that are not compatible with 10.7 (ones I rarely use now). But I start having issues with 10.8 and later for some expensive audio editing software, so that limits me at present (until I purchase a new macbook pro this summer/fall). And I cannot play GW2 now on my current 10.6.8 system until I get my email “delivery” of 10.7 from Apple.
The biggest issue I have with Anet on this, is the lack of prior notification to mac users of the mandatory change to 10.7 on this patch (before it was optional). A week or two heads up for us would have been really helpful for those of us using older OS’s to prepare for a patch occurring in the middle of a weekend.
That’s a very reasonable price considering how much those awful windows programs cost. (Not that many people actually buy them anyway) For stuff 2012 and earlier seems Lion is the most compatible of OS X though there are many free to play app games I cannot use on Lion which is a shame. As this is my first mac OS I’m reluctant to make the change to Mavericks either!
Again yes I think everyone’s in their right to rage here, I felt the same way rather just wait for when they release a fix that doesn’t need any hoop jumping but as what Sarah gave us was relatively simple I swallowed my pride and tried…
The misaligned text and prices still being split in two lines still persists, very irritating though better than a dead tp, even so very rightly said we shouldn’t be too grateful for was delivered. Having macs was meant to simplify computing, the GUI and all that came after but in this windows dominated computer games industry seems not…
Is an unfortunate troubleshooter for the current trading post problem we’ve had for the best part of a week, perhaps they should allow the old client to still work seeing as this new one did nothing to fix the trading issues anyway. At the very least Mavericks is free
Sorry to upset anymore Anet fan people but their testing is either subpar or just unlucky, just need to look at the Living story record where within the first hour or two, certainly first day of a new release new builds are needed to fix things. Disappointed the new patch failed to solve the issue but I was certain at least they do work in the weekends, after all during the Jubilee they did fix the tp on a sunday when it went down…
I was going to not bother with Sarah’s fix (Honestly, did it really take 4-5days to come up with this?) as the 15th is almost here but I did, renamed the game to Guild Wars Poo, highly fair under the debacle! I did as instructed, not only did I realise I need to start clearing space the original launcher no longer works! I did rename the game to it’s first name…. Luckily I did what is always expected of windows but usually unnecessary for OS X, I restarted the computer and solved! Except I noticed this appears in the console log
13/04/2014 05:10:11.372 cider: regapi failed: 1
Uncertain what relevance that has but GW2 boots up pretty well, map loading is much faster too for some reason, (except first launch the screen was stuck for at least 10seconds upon loading) as for the BLTP? xI could see my gem balance but nothing loaded…. I tried changing languages, restarted…. Third restart everything seems fine!
Thank you Sarah, was quite a straightforward workaround compared to the crossover or bootcamp, certainly faster than the 4-5hrs needed minimum to download the client I just wish you gave this days earlier! It’s been a pleasure getting to know more of the mac users I’ll be sure to add some names to my tyrian contacts list.
IMPORTANT – If you can’t launch the old client after deleting the new one try rebooting the computer, was needed for me at least.

Let people say their piece, it’s cathartic and if Anet is a good company they can turn calamity into triumph by how they deal with unhappy customers. Previous games I played they were generous in compensating players if a major fault occurred, on the flip side I didn’t like how I was dealt with when they messed up on later problems which was the very reason I left them. I done some programming myself though many years ago so yes I know how difficult a profession it is but as a consumer I can only sympathise so far, just as my home was a chinese takeout for over 18yrs, sure it’s unpleasant when customers complain at food taking long to prepare but I still get grumpy when waiting for food as a customer like everyone else haha!
Just to add I think people here haven’t aired their grievances excessively, it’s not a small problem and if this had been an issue affecting most windows users I am sure many harsh posts would litter the forums!
(edited by Yifang.8260)
It still makes sense to have the most recent post and a time stamp by it without having to enter the thread.
I may as well just run it on bootcamp, which I can’t be bothered to do. I have windows 7 ready and all.
Methinks someone’s frustrated with the downtime on tp and is lurking on the forums to pass time hehe.
You and me both I guess. Maybe I should post my recommended reading list for the weekend. May I suggest , “A Year in Provence” by Peter Mayle. It is a great read about a Brit that moves to Lubéron, France to live life in southern France. It is witty, fun and entertaining. When I was stationed in Germany my girlfriend and I took a trip to southern France and went to some of the places he described in his book. It was great fun. Or if you want something a little more gritty read “Less Than Zero” by Brett Easton Ellis. An interesting look into 1980’s lost generation casual nihilism. Or watch the movie but it isn’t as good. Happy reading.
I been france many times never more than for a week, I happen to be a Brit myself, France isn’t a place I plan to live… I have various books ranging from dinosaur books to fiction, I met my favourite author Raymond. E. Feist in 2006! Pity his stories haven’t had the mmorpg treatment (or tv and movies, it would dismantle Game of Thrones and Tolkien) sure I’d tag along! Off to play another game that never gets out of beta, this one’s a 3yr beta! We had various 0.9s and was logical to assume version 1 was coming but nope they made versions 0.10s grrr
Got a note back from the team. The fix hasn’t resolved the issue, so we’re still working on getting it working. As soon as we know more, we’ll update.
Ah, typical Anet. Prehaps running GW2 via crossover is the right way to go…
Let’s give CC Danicia a break. At least CC has taken some time to post here. I don’t think CC has ultimate control over what happens with the Mac client and is just trying to be here as a voice for Mac customers. It is better than what we used to have which was close to nothing heard ever from Anet. So I’m glad CC is here even if we still don’t have a fix.
No never once did I take it out on them, sure is a hard job bringing bad news but someone’s got to do it sadly. What would be nice if we can directly talk to support in game, at least we’d get some feedback quicker.
Don’t know what you’re talking about recent user there’s been plenty of constructive messages here, if this issue had affected most windows users I very much doubt their posts would be very professional
What I wasn’t even quoting you? As far as, “sure is a hard job bringing bad news but someone’s got to do it sadly.” I don’t know if you have been around this forum as long as I have but having any news, good or bad, is fairly new over the last few months. We spent a long time completely in the dark. Here is an example:
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/support/mac/WARNING-Mac-forums-no-longer-supported-byAnet/first
Didn’t say you were singling me out, was just saying I never raged at the CC and yeah I have some idea. I did read that thread actually, I luckily had little reason ever to come on the forums before Scarlet Briar, when she came a pile of bugs came with it though not mac exclusive ones. Methinks someone’s frustrated with the downtime on tp and is lurking on the forums to pass time hehe. Gone are the days when my beta client was running more smoothly than my friends on windows, perhaps cos they use inferior Operating Systems ^^
Is a non issue for me if people were hacked as my billing details aren’t provided but a broken tp for me is

I’m afraid no fix today their attempt failed
I got 0 credit for any of LA’s JP discoveries last time I tried.
They should make a real Mac version or this sort of thing will happen again.
Quoted for Truth.
I doubt this is ever going to happen. Pretty sure the only reason we got a Mac Client in the first place was that the only additional cost would be the cider licensing and the occasional developer time if something breaks (as in this situation). Unless they believe that a real Mac Port would get them a whole lot of new customers, I just don’t see it.
Edit: This is all OT though.
Seeing it or not, it’s something we’re allowed to ask for, we should expect, and would find foolish not to clamor for. The way it was presented was that the game was native for mac in all the ways they tried to attract us to the game. It was a lie of omission and one they alone can put right. It’s a matter of supply and demand. We DEMAND they SUPPLY us with a Native Mac Client.
At no extra cost seeing as we already paid to access the game!

This latest problem is related to changes our CDN providers made to protect users against http://heartbleed.com/ – the Mac client doesn’t deal well with HTTPs certificates changing.
New Mac build should be happening soon with a fix for this.
This is what I should have said, no I didn’t say the tp security has been compromised due to heart bleed.com.
If so Sevi you’re ahead of us most mac users can’t even load the exchange UI, not been able to since tuesday.
I could get friends to be my trader but is a nuisance on both sides, I’d want to know the prices of the items etc wouldn’t just be buy and sell this…. A temporary solution would be if Anet gave mac users an unlimited storage box at least till the fix is done, that will self delete a while after login, the grace period should be reasonable, not 5mins!
Perhaps I’m too untrusting I don’t even mail things to friends when I am short of bag space. Just to add one alternative to keep playing GW2 without worrying about the tp is PVP, you get very few items there and most of which can’t be traded! PVP does get boring after a few games though I only do them for achievements as their dailies are quick and easy.
(edited by Yifang.8260)
If I was rich I’d be developing my own games as we speak but would feel the fire of complaints as well so I’d maybe be a little more sympathetic to Anet then hehe. I could and should be working on that now but you know how it is, always easier to do ventures if you have capital to begin with but then if you do you can afford to be lazy… Vicious circle of life eh…
Guess you can just make extra guilds though many items are account bound so it’s a temporary solution as well…. Good idea Trogdor, take this time to catch up with non computer related stuff, better to make use of this downtime than having more disappointments, what a week….
They need a better tp system for sure, the Black Lion trading company or in this case Evon Gnashblade as his company is wrecked right now should operate as a fixed post that doesn’t require whatever nonsense the tp needs (which has severe stability issues as long as I played it, best case was how on GW2’s 1st birthday it went down for maintenance!) That way it will cut down on the volume of trading down all over Tyria and I assume there’s benefits to a fixed tp location as other mmorpgs I played only allow network trading from towns and their stability was 100% in my time there.
I love being able to use a tp on the fly for sure but man we’ve been suffering with a weak tp for a while now is frustrating even before this recent problem, as China’s set to join this game very soon and multiply the game’s community size Anet you have a lot of improvements to make if you want to win over the world’s largest country in populace, pretty sure a lot of them are mac users as well.
(edited by Yifang.8260)
It would help if the most recent poster of a topic isn’t just displayed but also when they posted is as well to avoid people thinking an 8 month old thread hasn’t had more recent responses
It’s still April 11th. I’m sorry you live in the Europe, but this game runs on West Coast time. It’s annoying for me as well; honestly I wish they would run on GMT, because the resets are on GMT, but sadly they don’t. Of course the PC gets a fix quicker; there’s way more PC players and PC actually has a native client. I feel like none of you are thinking about the time zones before you post. It was one thing when no one was answering us earlier this week, but now they finally are and have said they are working on it.
It’s almost heartbreaking to see the length people go to defend a company, even now when it’s not “morning April 11th” anywhere on this planet. Wait.. they didn’t say earth time did they? Hmm.
IKR! What’s with the “teacher’s pet” angle?
Anet undercover maybe? I find it hard to stomach as well especially as a customer is always entitled to complain and in this case more than justified to. Furthermore I’m sure the company has a competent legal team to defend them anyway so avid defenders of them here need not waste cyberspace as it doesn’t benefit the community in any way. Venting out frustrations in a forum hasn’t fixed the issue either but again that’s within our rights particularly when there is a fault with the product. I do hope the patch comes out before this update, which I also am part dreading as no major update has been seamless (in most mmorpgs come to think of it) but at the very least at least we have been told they have a new build, did they forget to upload it I wonder… Silly commercial choice as the weekends are prime time for sales.
Will check back later of course, in the meantime nice to get to know more of the mac community, albeit not under the happiest circumstances.
Thanks for the update, I’m afraid this makes me even more cross, as this issue has persisted over half a week now it’s fair to give us some compensation. I won’t quit if the people in charge choose not to however for sure it will tarnish this game’s reputation. Been meaning to ditch mmorpgs for a while now at least for a long time, I did for most of 2012, for sure is a plus with offline content that won’t ever let you down the way online stuff may.
(edited by Yifang.8260)
What’s happening here…? TP layout is all messed up since yesterday. Fonts are too big & bold and things are overlapping… Restarting the game won’t do anything.
Mac beta

At least we have an idea why it’s happened
For mostly mac beta users the tp has been down for 3 days now, I have access to picking up money but nothing else. I read it is related to heartbleed.com, so it seems it isn’t only a mac issue then. There is little your friend can do, is out of our hands. Sadly we are missing out on a few sales, what timing.
Yet the trading post has suffered for 3 days is unusable for many users, primarily mac beta users
70% at most the tp will work consistently in my experience without a need for a restart, not great odds if my mobile phone or broadband provider were so poor I’m lynch them. As selling stuff on the go is very important in this game and is unique as I wasn’t able to do this in other mmos I played it is a real nuisance when it doesn’t work. I’m a hoarder and don’t have the biggest bags either, inventory management has always been my bane for over 20yrs in games hehe. In the defence of this beta I’ve not suffered too much compared to the average windows user I’ve been able to keep up with most Living stories and what not so I’ve had my fun for the £29.99 I spent on this. To date the only online game I ever paid for!
To add I haven’t ever needed to do any fancy debugging to keep the game running fine so for the vast majority of the hours and hours lost to this title it’s been great, do hope when this finally is out of beta we will see a vast improvement, I can’t play the game at minimal settings as it’s ugly but I must for the harder Jumping puzzles as I’m quite bad at them ^^, an extra 5 fps really makes a difference

So I guess Mac users miss out on this:
Free Bank Access Express

Not like it is a mega huge free item, but we are left out either way as these free items are usually one day only.
At this point no major loss as I got the deluxe edition thankfully before this debacle
But the rest of us are out of luck. Sure it isn’t a huge item, but unlike our PC friends we don’t get one because we play on Mac.
Is an injustice, think anet should mail whatever we missed since this issue emerged, assuming they can tell who has it affected.
It’s harmed the BLTP mostly for the mac beta, been an issue for 3 days cannot buy or sell anything

At this point no major loss as I got the deluxe edition thankfully before this debacle, though not at an attractive gem exchange rate… So I will have free bank accesses for 3 weeks on every character past present and future. I often wasted the 1 time access items anyway as I’d automatically hit the esc key and waste it by mistake hehe.
A handy utility tool to use is the Console, reports everything that goes on behind the scenes, was able to work out when faults were not on my end for other games, which is useful to know. I’ve been a mac user since late 2012 but am no expert either, nevertheless will say they are far easier to use than PCs!

well… hope they fix it soon, bc windows isn’t going back on my imac.
Fricking windows partition trashed the osx part of my harddrive too much last time.
had kittenload of troubles getting it back restoredI still have the partition, does it damage the HD? If so I must consider removing it pronto! SWTOR is generally vastly inferior to this anyway except they have a reliable trading post (That’s rooted in specific areas unfortunately)
It corrupted my partition, spend full day on trying to get a clean install of osx, did finally succeed
I really hope this isn’t the same story for mine, I will for sure backup important stuff if I ever remove the partition. If this does happen I’d have to get Mavericks, at least it’s free for now but am happy with Lion.
If it’s not exclusive to the mac beta this tp problem isn’t affecting enough users to warrant a quicker fix sadly or we’d see a down for maintenance quaggan

It happens to me at the strangest times, I rarely crash in the middle of a big engagement however during the aftermath or a quiet moment I may crash, less frequently in recent times but was very common after season 1 of wvw.
Big offender is their over fancy map that pans all over the place, I presume it is very wasteful with resources that may force crashes. Three nights ago we fended off blob after blob after blob even two blobs at one time in Eternal Battlegrounds, they kept assaulting our keep like ants…. I managed 3-4hrs of sporadic kittenaults without crashes but the final assault, which wasn’t a big one I crash… strange.
Don’t try any drastic fixes just yet guys as the fault seems on their end, I’ve never done the numerous fixes and at least till this year my client was as stable or even better than the windows client.
My 2 cents is the game has been pretty poor in stability throughout the Living story cycle, worst of all after Scarlet appeared, especially the marionette. I cannot ever agree that having a beta label excuses lack of commitment to the customer. If it was a free to play game then yes we can’t complain, to a point anyway the user always is entitled to express their opinion as far as I’m concerned. I’m sure the company has plenty of lawyers to defend them so ANet defenders in forums are quite redundant.
I still recommend this title over anyother mmorpg but I would also be honest and say exactly what its failures are and there are many. I was hoping we’d have less bugs after Living story has ended but seems not to be the case, despite the numerous issues that emerged new builds were released frequently to counter it.

This irritant problem is now minuscule seeing as we can’t even use the tp now as of last night! As we are reminded often with life, if we think things are bad they can always get worse ‘/\’. Perhaps merge this with the BLTP issues thread
