and customers deserve to be lied to?
Sure you have the time to “test” it?
I call shenanigans. When you say “test”… you really meant LARPing, don’t you Jon?
It’s clearly a bug. If every ranger reported this error in-game… they might replace our traps with witches cauldrons
Too bad we can’t name spirits. Bet you can guess what I’d name my sun spirit, so that I can laugh when a light breeze one-shots it.
Time to save your own kitten Jon Peters. My drakehound has your scent.
I bet the 2 missing points were backpedaled due to “risk factor”. Too dramatic for one patch.
That’s funny Jon When can we expect the real patch notes?
Hm… Actually, Hawkmoon… If I were them I would rather be yelled at for a failed collaborative patch than a failed secretive patch where feedback is one way… Props
Keeping in mind they don’t want to be liable for claims that don’t happen. And also that the majority of folks need to calm down. Despite the fact that they want to deliver the patch with quality:
If Anet was an airport….
I’m hoping for:
Suicide Pet Bombs:
You can now stuff your pet with explosives and detonate them near enemies to cause copious amounts of damage. Also adds an AoE called “Entrail splatter” which blinds all enemies for 15 seconds while they look for rags to wipe off their faces.Or, alternatively a new skill for bears:
Bear Cavalry:
You hop on your bear with a rusty sword and charge recklessly to your demise while shouting obscene things.
Any way to combine these? I wouldn’t mind going out with a bang myself (in-game of course :/ )
Either that or add a rainbow coloured trail to my pets. Then maybe I would bother rezzing them (for the cases where it’s pointless).
Scars and Jeff, even if the maximum is not displayed, for example if it shows 6/10 – you will not get personal mail (ie everything except hearts) if you have messages with green stars. These messages, such as the ones from the recent halloween event, count toward your limit without showing up. It says 6/10 but if you have four messages green starred, you have to delete them as well
Was googling weapons with trails (cause I noticed some cultural weapons have them too) and found this. I love the idea. It would have to be something equip-able however. And another fear I’d have is players running on something other than a top-end PC. If this were implemented, it would be popular, and I can only imagine the havoc on our video cards if everyone in LA was running around spawning butterflies…. I really want butterflies now
I’m not going to pretend I have the fixes – let me know what the problems would be with these changes:
PETS:
Pets should attack on the run: Pets use natural weapons. How the hell is a pet supposed to catch food if it has to stop to attack it’s prey? Makes 0 sense.
Pets need to get out of the way of red circles somehow.
I find my pets inconsistently hardy. Sometimes they tank, other times they are one-shotted. If there is nothing left to be done about it, make the “My pet needs help!” bit play before they actually die :/
SPIRITS:
I love using spirits. Their passive and active radii should be a bit larger. No way should they follow you with 0 trait points. Spirits unbound makes their use viable in dungeons and higher levels. But if anything, an option to anchor a moving spirit would be invaluable.
WEAPONS:
Example of a weapon tweak: Serpent’s Strike, at launch, would create a nice arc around the enemy. Now, occasionally, it flips out and you wind up 5 yards away from your enemy with your back toward them, and striking at thin air.
Rooting: As much as I like to pretend I’m a barbarian in a rage, sometimes it’s useful to be able to stop attacking and get out of the way before you die.
I don’t use shouts, signets, or traps in general for two reasons: 1 because I’m told they are sub-par, and 2 because I personally don’t find them fun. That might change, but I have no suggestions thereabouts.
Recently transferred to visit my other guild and it worked out pretty badly. I’m looking for a short -term guild to RP with on the Gandara server until I can get back onto Tarnished Coast where my disability isn’t as much of an issue. I’m happy to do surveys/interviews etc. I’m not making messes of your personal plots, and will try to fit myself in cohesively
Anyone remember the weapon set shortcuts in GW1? I think they were bound to F1-4. Anyway, something like that – buttons in a corner that switch to higher or lower tiers of tools. The buttons could fade out during combat too.
A couple of alternatives: Automation which uses the lowest capable tool you have, or a context menu viewing your in-stock tools when you click “Gather” or hit F. Not only would it save money, but it would help to avoid ruining resources accidentally.
Submarine/underwater – kinda like the vestibule north of the bank in Divinity’s Reach!
Transmutation stones to give armour the look of town clothes (including those bought at the gem store)
Special armour skins and/or additional armour slots that are only for when swimming. (An alternative armour set, or a scuba suit/surf suit)
Underwear cut styles/prints (jockies, briefs, hearts, shamrocks, duckies)
I love pet costume ideas… but it seems a lot of work to customize each item for each model
Error Code - 1022:5:1:825:101 is getting really obnoxious

I started getting 1022, 3032 and 7 within 0 to 30 minutes since the build on the 7th. Played maybe close to 30 minutes total in the last 5 days. Seeing more and more threads like this.
All I can say is that you’re not alone, and that I hope the next build screws balance and skill issues for now and focuses on helping the servers to not abort us. I preordered knowing that there would be balance issues near the beginning. I didn’t preorder to experience GW2 through the forums.
If it goes on for much longer I might surrender my account for the time being. I just got some new sound samples an I need to clear up some 90 gigs of space. Plus I need money to try to visit my man in London.
I love this game and the community. But a life is looking a lot better than an error message.
Rogers High Speed here, Sin.
Poogy, is it possible this all could be account related? I’m confused at your post. Do your sisters use (a) different computer(s). The reason I say it might be account related is that I’ve tried the game on my desktop as well as my laptop and the same thing happens. I haven’t had a friend try their account on my comp or vice versa… I dunno, just exploring possibilities
Completely unplayable all of today. Disconnected at character selection screen or at best before my character loaded in the world. I was able to create a new character, but it disconnected as it loaded. Don’t know if the character even stuck. The client can’t find the server. /sigh
Djaswal and Hedgy, I can verify both of these…warnings. Sometimes my chat does update, I just can’t send.
When everything has been working for a while and it goes to crash, it shows everyone offline even though they’re using guild chat and I can hear them on mumble. (This happens without mumble too, fyi). If I start and there is an imminent disconnect right away – I am the only one in the guild. Once, a few people were in as well but they were listed as not representing. Interesting I think and hopefully it helps, but again it doesn’t seem like we’re any closer lol.
Keep calm and vigilant guys! If you happen to catch a break, ask your guild mates if they’ve had a similar problem and come to this thread!
Forgot to mention this but it’s probably generic behavior for a disconnect, but a few minutes before the severance, my chat stops updating and I can’t post. Yet I can still make progress and gain experience, even transfer maps. But like Mohawk says, when I do notice this and try to change maps or exit the overflow, it disconnects maybe 75% of the time. A couple of times I got disconnected after starting the client fresh, before my character loads in the world. At this point I’ve learned to just try again in 6 hours.
Trying to to sound like a prick, but were I in university or working, both of which I soon will be, I might be a bit more pissy. I know many of you probably count on gaming and the GW community to relax and socialize. Some people may even play with close friends or your partner. Not being dramatic, but I guess I’ve been left out of things enough in my life, and GW2 has been one of the more accepting ones. Please, Anet, don’t deny us of that. I can be patient, but for the sake of others… Sincerely
Kalvar and I seem to have problems which are more prevalent during certain times of the day – the same general time taking into account time zones. Can anyone else speak to this? And I agree it’s a strangely individual problem.
That’s funny, Hedgey, I’m only 40 minutes north of Toronto. I hate to say it but maybe there’s hope that it’s a geographical problem they can fix and not something fundamentally localized. I’m going to ask some friends and see if they’re having issues.
Everyone else, keep in mind that it’s still very early in the games lifetime – no excuse for Anet to put off looking into it, hint, hint, but with so much going on I think it’s only reasonable we put some effort into it ourselves. I’ll keep this thread informed of what I find.
Hi, I think I’ll piggyback on your post hoping it might attract some attention. I’ve had the same problem. I’m running the same specs as you except for the following:
ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5650 (with latest drivers of course)
20 mbs cable connection
Live Security Essentials with all permissions for GW2 enabled.
I used to have no problem with disconnects close to launch. Then occasionally after half an hour to 2 hours, I would lose the server. Now, I find I can’t keep connected for more than 5 minutes in the mornings (-5:00 GMT, North American server). The problem is MUCH less prevalent in the evening. In addition, some days I have no problems at all! (So to me it would seem strange for it to be my hardware).
Another possibility I thought of which seems to refute any correlation: The problem got worse when students went back to school earlier this month, so there are fewer sinks in the area in the morning than at night. I have no idea if that kind of influence is even possible, but I thought I’d mention it.
Furthermore, other mmos including GW1 are running even more smoothly in the last month since I changed cable plans (I used to get much more infrequent disconnects with GW1, but now? Perfect)
