I don’t think this was meant to be a debate, only a clarification. The official text seems to read (a LITTLE ambiguously) that you have a rare chance from non-gemstore sources, OR you can simply buy them. Again, it’s ambiguous, but it reads like a rich coffer guarantees. Any actual experiences? Or maybe just a dev to quiet it.

It prevents players from having a complete set, apart from the fact the hat is the best piece. It’s an anomaly.

Same, in an overflow. Got the bonus chest, chest and event medal but no achievement.

How do I report this deeply upsetting guild name?
The guild name that appears in game, but is censored ironically here is re. tar. d Friendly [DURR]. It attacks those who cannot speak for themselves, and brings these threads from those who can.

Thanks Jason – I believe I probably had just relogged onto a different character, so I very well may have been previously repping, in a sense, the guild that was receiving the messages by mistake. I don’t think the member who informed me of the messages appearing was aware of which character of mine was actually speaking in their channel.

I was having a conversation within guild chat with one guild (me and 5 or 6 guild mates). The guild is a kinda of support community so I was sharing personal details. The next morning I get a message from an acquaintance in a different guild saying something like my behaviour was unacceptable and made some of the guild’s members extremely uncomfortable.

Turns out my posts in guild chat were appearing by themselves in another guild I was not repping. It appeared in another guild as though I was having a one sided conversation about mental health among other things. I was obviously not repping the guild at the time and somehow my posts were being read by their members.

I find this bug extremely disturbing, invasive, and unfair to players on the other side who have to deal with spam and discomfort.

My dailies today were different than all my friends on my server and only my dailies which are common to theirs (dodger, and events) will progress.

Only real men have the guts to wear pink. Also, a lot of gals dig guys in purple and pink.

I can confirm this happens on Ranger sword. Jason King, since you can’t use the double tap to dodge with ranger sword and you know this, there is no work around.

Now that’s a bug if I ever saw one. Were you able to actually leave?

I had a development yesterday. I was standing around, game muted, headphones on. I watched someone in the distance launch something (possibly a skill from the new town clothes outfit scepter) and precisely when it landed the clang went off. Not just this, don’t get it wrong, but it may be a hint.

It just and incentive…excuse me… a SOLUTION to gold buying/selling.

I agree Kandrick, and I regret it but that’s me too. I would not pug with someone with a legendary weapon. The exception to this would be people I know. I know a couple good players who found precursors in the Lost Shores event, and are working towards a Legendary weapon because of it. Buying a precursor isn’t a sin in my book. What frightens me is if these legendary listings were actually bought for what they’re listed. At one point the seller, I saw, could have crafted 4 more legendaries with the profits. All buyable legendary ingredients would be monopolised quite easily. 10000s of thousands of gold in profits after a couple generations.

Anyone heard something about the cogs? I have 200 left over. When I saw that I was excited because I thought maybe there’s another recipe coming. But it seems more likely because of the DR. Hm… I don’t want to come out ahead of those who lost cogs but I wish I could do something with them lol

I’m not saying you are this if you have one – I’m saying that with 4 legendaries on the trading post now, I will no longer think much of any character I see carrying one. It’s not your fault. The weapons just don’t mean anything anymore.

You do realize that Legendary gear will be more than just skins soon, right? They will scale to always be ‘best in game’ gear. When A-Net releases Ascended Gear 2.0, or whatever they will call it, your Legendary gear will step up to match it.

Yes I realize this. I also realize their promise at launch that no tier will ever exceed the stats of exotic. Besides, I don’t PvP, and the slight difference in stats won’t matter much. It’s not worth the effort when I don’t like the skin and the prestige is lost. I can make much better use of the money investing in other and alternate equipment that I can use better with my play-style

ThiBash…. THAT WOULD BE EPIC. So much more rewarding and personal. It reminds me of a special type of weapon in a pen and paper I used to play. I love the skins of the weapons I have (some are actually cheap duplicates of precursor skins), and I work very hard to get them. The most expensive weapon I’m going for is about 35 g. The price to buy it ranges from about 5 g less to 1 g more than making it, but I’m gathering mats anyway cause I want to be able to say “I worked for this”. I’d love to undergo a series of difficult non-random quests – collect a few special items and do some kind of bonding ritual to upgrade my hard-earned skins to legendary status. The exotics I like are actually named as it happens… just a coincidence. Ah well, maybe I’ll just do that in RP :P

Indeed. That’s the one thing I respected because I’m a completionist. It’s not hard necessarily. World completion takes time though and I find it fun, especially with friends. Someone who buys a legendary without taking the time to play the game doesn’t make me angry – just sad. Everyone plays their own way, but when you forsake fun for a status symbol I just look the other way.

4 weeks – No response from ANet since they opened the ticket for me on the 23rd of November.

Lol what? If they are being placed at an omega price then don’t buy it….ur argument Is just silly. The sell cost is much higher? Maybe for mats that you can buy. But what about others… What is your value of 1.1m+ karma, or gift of battle, or world complete, or 300+ skillpoints…….just no.

I don’t think you read into what I wrote. I’m not complaining whatsoever that price is more than I would pay for. I wouldn’t consider buying a Legendary if it were 200 g. My point was that with the 9000 g or whatever, the seller could easily turn that into 4 more legendaries. My main concern was that this trade is either completing an out-of-game transaction, or encourages gold buying through illegitimate channels, as the manipulation leaves less economically-adept players in the dust. It’s a very legitimate concern. A couple hundred real-life dollars on the holidays through third parties… or hundreds of hours hoping to luck out? I’m very surprised after all the written abuse ANet’s suffered over market manipulation and the attainment of Legendaries that they’ve advised this phenomenon as “intended”.

So this is awkward… the second time I whisper anyone on a given session, it automatically changes the addressee to whomever I was whispering before. Example:

Whispering someone (1) normally for 10 minutes.
We end our conversation.

20 minutes later, I change the addressee and my whisper sends to the correct person (2)
The (2) replies.
I write back to (2).
My message goes to (1).

It’s actually been horrible. I’ve seen RL friends online and asked something extremely person to random strangers. I also made a suggestive joke to one friend that went to my other 16 year old friend of a friend.

Whispers are supposed to be private. The way they work (or don’t work) now is not acceptable.

Actually the forums are full of players who come to troll players looking for help, or to brag because of some complex or another. The forums are a bipolar spectrum of the actual game (including posts like those mentioned in the OP, and their elitist opposites). It’s a common phenomenon. It’s fairly lucid and helpful on Tarnished Coast anyway

Hi there!

I have a really great gaming pal who’s shy but feeling a bit lonely (absolutely hilarious too). We’re both looking for a Tarnished Coast guild which has an active and acknowledging guild chat and a tolerant environment. We’re both very real people with real lives we wouldn’t mind being able to share casually, and we occasionally have joking sessions which are 100% respectful but rather mature sometimes. A guild which has an 18+policy is preferred.

We come and go together, so although we are both looking for something long term, we apologize if it doesn’t work out right with either of us <3.

We pretty much (exclusively) PvE, but we’re not looking for a strictly PvE-only guild.
We often play together, but you’ll see one of us on as often as both of us. We’re doing this to mingle and meet people, not to suck on an established guild while we prance merrily about :P.

Then the Designer (remember him? ) in the new thread (in this thread’s answer) completely contradicts Alexandra Triplett. It would be nice if ANet got on the same page. It does indeed look like they made a mistake they’re afraid to admit.

In the popular thread here about the preview function being removed, a moderator who closed it mentioned a second thread… therefore they closed the hot one. I can’t seem to find the “other thread” to follow it. Can someone provide a link, since all the duplicate threads were answered by another moderator linking to the thread they just closed. I’m very confused. Also, any reason they didn’t merge it?

I keep my game muted for several reasons, but even when set to such in the options dialog, occasionally I’ll get an extremely loud, echo-ey metallic TING! in my phones or speakers I’d really like the game to be muted when I have it muted. It’s only when playing GW2. Anyone else?

I think I’m going to try playing without Beats, see if that helps.

Now almost everytime I want to preview something, I have to exit the game. I thought developers and designers wanted to limit these kinds of interruptions.

I guess we’ll be seeing much more ping spam in /say, as instead of previewing something, one will have to relog and subsequently copy the code from GW2DB.

Save up your mats, and 400 two crafting disciplines. I couldn’t do it fighting either. I’m physically unable to make it through a sitting that long (not to mention my laptop would melt the wood desk).

I request some clarification in many achievements, but specifically this one.

Bring it back. We know all artists are picky about their work, but some of us really like to play dress up

I realized today while swimming with a clothie friend: The whole point of introducing underwater content was the panty shots. I mean, really, let’s be honest.

Got my first exotic drop today from a level 10 Marsh Drake in the swamp in Queensdale tonight. It was kinda funny cause it was with a Rune of Grenth right in the Temple of Ages. I felt blessed :P

Wondering if anyone else has had funny experiences similar to this. Either with drops or something that seemed a bit divine lol

After a while, they stop running now. After a while with no kills, the mini map pings all remaining dolls

Second screenie (same thing but with downed skills)

“Buttons” means skills, reviving, pet skills, looting, or opening chests.

I have no lag whatsoever, no rubberbanding, and chat works without a hitch. I just can’t do anything except run and avoid attacks. Downed skills are also affected. Also, my chat log is depressingly funny regarding this (see screens).

Clicking skills just cues them, as imaged. (Seems I can only attach one screen, so I will post my downed state subsequently). Even though my pet can attack, it follows I guess that since my attacks simply don’t function I shouldn’t be allowed to loot what they drop for me :/

Luckily, I did get my toy materials, though I’m guilty I couldn’t help my guild mates.

PS: It was fine in the dungeon yesterday.

I was aware of the texture issue, but that’s no reason to disable functions that are still useful! I’m really confused at this call, Anet. It serves no constructive function, just makes previewing less useful.

Ah, sorry bout that. But here’s why:

They use movable Do solfege where Do is the tonic no matter the major scale degree.
As the sixth scale degree is raised in Dorian, the correct name should be “Li” not “La” and the 7th (“Ti”) should be “Te”. There’s their mistake.

EDIT: So I finally checked it out – they got the 7th degree right, but “Me” for the third degree isn’t standard. It’s always been “Mi” regardless if it’s a major or minor third in my experience.

It should read do re MI fa sol LI te do.

Re to re is actually the Dorian church mode, which happens to be what the Guild Wars theme is written in :P It’s the same as a natural minor scale with a raised 6th degree, so it doesn’t sound as sad Used a lot to imitate Medieval or Celtic folk music.

It’s obviously a bug. It serves no purpose than to otherwise force players to log out in order to appreciate the armour friends ping, or test armour for their other characters. It fixes nothing and only causes inconvenience.

So in the new patch I can no longer preview most armour to see if I like it… it’s really inconvenient to have to relog to view a piece of armour a friend pinged for a drop, and my friends can no longer comment on my armour or give opinions

Please fix this wonderful feature soon lol

Wow. That’s harsh. I’m not bragging, but here’s how I do it: Ranger sword plus Dagger, endurance recovery trait, and a sigil of stamina. I have 4 evade skills (including one 2 part chain), accelerated dodge bar, and my dodge refills completely every time I kill one of the brides of chucky.

Either get some evade going, would be my suggestion, or get some decoys. For example I also have 4 spirits and 2 bird pets (my raven and a tropical bird) following me (spirits unbound + runes of the pirate, Yarr!). At least this option works (unevenly, I suppose) for Rangers, Mesmers (clones), and Necros (minions). I’m not sure what other profs have at their disposal.

Doesn’t matter though, it sounds pretty silly to be overleveled and still be whammed by dolls… it is kind of a silly season though :/
