This has happened for me too. I’ve only opened one chest and it was in bloodtide coast. This one was in Queensdale is it showed up holding SHIFT on my ele. I did not open it. On my necro, it was already open.
This is a fun one. When I crash and reload my sylvari mesmer with Greatsword (two hands) equipped, the last two skills are missing. I can equip an offhand (a torch for example) and have the first 3 GS skills, and the torch skills at the same time.
If I swap, it’s fixed, but I can use all skills. There is no animation for the casting of torch skills, but the greatsword skills animate correctly. All skills appear functional.
HDD 15 – 20 seconds to often >1 minute. Loading into the mists once was 3 minutes. I timed because I was typing in skype on a laptop at the time.
I have this every single time now after a recent update.
It happens even when Guild Wars is muted entirely. A program muted should not make noises period. On a couple occasions where I -was- playing with sound, this has caused my headphones/speakers to crack, and has been mildly painful.
This has been reported and commented on by devs in the past, but in case they care at all about players’ hearing and hardware:
It ranges from a loud, blunt POP to a metallic-sounding explosion and happens seemingly randomly. For me, it happens in combat, out in the world exploring, standing and running around in populated areas and alone.
I once got an extremely loud bang watching as a snowball thrown by another player landed nearby. Perhaps it happens when certain sound effects go off at the same time.
If you have video with sound of it happening, please post.
I was VOIPing with a friend once and he heard it from the client through my mic, asking “WTF was that?”
It’s really loud.

Does anyone have any experience with this? Or should this be moved to another forum?
Since the search forums feature doesn’t work for me, I apologize in advance if this is covered somewhere.
Can someone who bought and activated their game in the United States redeem a store-bought Gem Card purchased in Canada (currently from Best Buy or EB Games)?
Then that would be the case where you’re just sensitive. It’s like asking Google to only give you results you want to see. The game can’t tell. It just makes no sense. If you play an online game, you have to be prepared to play with all sorts. That should be bloody obvious.
To me, it just sounds like spite, which is sad.

Executing an event in a way that is not intended, providing infinite loot for players who choose not to play the game as intended, with the side effect of robbing players with the ability to play the game as intended… is the definition of an exploit.
Um… this idea wouldn’t work. You’d have one-sided conversations in guild appearing which would cause an equal number of complaints on the forums due to confusion. Two things: you can either work out your problems yourself in a public channel, or if the guild member is really really a “nuissance”… talk to a guild leader. Don’t expect an automated system to be sensitive to your social problems (not saying -you- are the cause of the problem, but if you’re needing to completely shut someone out from public channels, either you’re a little bitter, or you have a stalker, in which case there are other ways to handle it).
I vouch that it won’t be fixed. That it would cause more problems than it’d fix.
EDIT: When I say “fix” I mean “change”, as it’s obviously working as intended.
Pixelpumpkin is right, most combos simply don’t count for some reason. I got mine solelyby using necro wells I believe. Try different professions, and the stick with what works (or keep looking for something even quicker if you choose).
And the price of Fluff dye goes through the roof!
I wish Anet’s response team was the U.S. economies response team. Anet had it fixed within a day. Please note I understand it’s harder to fix the U.S. economy, I also understand the U.S. can’t just make goods out of thin air. The comment was meant as a joke, while also giving them credit for an excellent response any time something gets “out of line” on the market.
…To me the chart makes it look like one person listed the dye for 100x the market price to try to excite people, then halved it after it didn’t sell for a while. I don’t think there was any intervention. It’s a common dye…
Pets are not added directly from GW1, they are awarded after achieving a set number of points, attainable from any number of GW1 achievements or monuments. You can work towards unlocking the heritage pets in GW2 by progressing with Monument of Resilience (elite armour), for example.
The black moa is one of a few special pets in GW1 that will let you display it in the Monument of Fellowship, but it only counts as a single pet/hero towards unlocking awards, as per the calculator.
1 copper : 1 coin :: 1 gold : 10, 000 coins.
The inventory thing is misleading, however.
Spam reporting is not a good idea. Being persistent is different. I’m scared to even try this minigame looking at this thread. Fear =/= fun
I thought the official reply was rather unprofessional. Not even an “aware of this bug but don’t have an ETA on the fix”. Instead, it came off as sarcastic and belittling.
16 achievements gifts a quartz node. I believe the model is rewarded from the completion of a different, single achievement (perhaps finding all the crystals, I’m sorry I’m not sure).
I’m getting it again.
It happened on my guardian a few weeks ago when I was transformed by the skritt burglar. The clone appeared in the running animation, but without any weapon.
EDIT: It’s happened recently to me too.
What is most disturbing about this is that it has been bugged since launch, documented, and reported, yet they seem to know nothing of the bug and procede to place new content at the end of the JP.
Exactly.
Getting the same error, and frustrated as I got total d/c right at the last boss of COF P1, No loot…. also noticing that mobs aren’t dropping lesser and lesser loots =.=
Tat’s not the issue we’re describing, it’s simply an obstructing window that falsely states we could not connect. The first time it happened for me, I could not close the window. I restarted but still got the error, however I’m able to close it now every time I load. I find it unfortunate though if it’s affecting EB :/
This just started for me a few minutes ago, I get it every time I load but it has no impact on the game. It’s annoying though. I’ve made no changes to my software/internet settings, in fact, it started in the middle of a play session and hasn’t stopped, even if I close out the game completely.
There really is no good excuse for why these options don’t exist or why they come up short. Player’s should be given breathing room, and not forced to log off or play uncomfortably when there’s such an obvious alternative.
I’d prefer player housing to be integrated with the environment. The cities are huge for the most part, and there’s lots of parts that we don’t even see. I like to think my character already lives -somewhere-. He already has a home perhaps, it’s just not live yet. No need for additional environments, other than interiors ofc.
I think more weapons would be cool. Here’s an idea (similar to Sirendor’s but less game-changing). Introducing weapons which give dramatically (or less dramatic in some cases) different flavours to the class. Weapons from other continents in the world, even if we never see those continents. A new weapon for the necromancer from Cantha could imbue a ritualist-type feel, focusing more on souls and spirits rather than the physical body – WITHOUT the need for a new class. Giving warriors and guardians a javelin might be interesting. And what about giving rangers a scythe >:3 (of course weapons would not be exclusive to -one- prof, just to be clear).
15k is too much, but it would definitely had a bit of meaning and individuality to legendaries. Keeping in mind those with top achievement scores likely have the means to get a legendary if they don’t already have one or several :P It should be a goal that even casual players would be excited to -work- for. Maybe not a precursor, since they’ve said they’re adding a scavenger-hunt type of method to obtaining them, but definitely a gift or credits for a gift-vendor of sorts.
HoM is accessible by all players -grab a stone from a charr in LA. However there’s nothing there for you there if not for GW1. I like the idea very much though. Perhaps as part of the achievements revamp, a certain number of points allows you to restore the Hall partially, and gain access to the scrying pool. I like it a lot.
I like it :P

“Fools!” Doesn’t help.
Do indeed try to delete all mails, including green event mail, as that often counts invisibly towards the limit. Switch maps or relog, and be patient. If that doesn’t work, submit a ticket.
It happens more than half the time for me. Always. So technically, I call it a feature lol.
It is able to be completed without seeing the missing pattern?
Sometimes. Often the pattern shows but is wrong.
We had two groups of five going in to try the puzzle. Within five minutes of getting in after a 20 minute queue, 3 of them disconnected with a “serious error”, and were prompted to submit reports through the client.
Oh my goodness, why does Anet even let this runeset breathe? Serious problems, devs.
Bugged on Tarnished Coast still, needs it for the Cache
It seems like a lot of people are still upset over not being able to participate in the living story
If you’re a ranger at heart, you’ll know how to adapt. Ranger was a while ago admitted by Anet to be the most broken class. I’m guessing it’s going to stay that way simply because ranger has no designed role, and thus is prone to floating. To those who say your experience is ruined… the class was broken a LONG time ago. Don’t expect Anet to restring your bow for you; they’ve shown they find it too difficult.
I’m happy with the good changes they’ve made. Might not work with everyone’s build, but apart from the diminished pet dps, I see it as a move forward. Just… please fix the pet AI next.
I seem to be one of the few who are happy with the patch in general for rangers. Sure, they still need to touch up weapons other than longbow, but that doesn’t mean they won’t. As for pets, I don’t see the big idea, since the AI is far from reasonably functional still – they’re going to have to keep looking at pets regardless. Better weapons and AI in the future in exchange for a bit of pet damage? I mean, when my raven died from falling damage yesterday, I stopped caring what this update would do for pets. It’s a step forward to creating a working ranger.
Disclaimer: I didn’t say pet AI was fixed YET (afaik it wasn’t touched). Only that the fact that it wasn’t makes pet damage irrelevant so far as yet.
I like the longbow buff and spirit buffs (including trait changes for spirits). Makes rangers better at their original design.
Thanks guys! Although it’s less powerful (and less consistent :P) than I’d hoped, that’s not terrible, especially considering the trait changes for spirits supposedly coming today… not that spirits are yet much in line with other utilities
I remember when spirits had an internal countdown that limited their effect being granted to every ten seconds, and it was bugged and then fixed. I noticed that (I guess for a while) that they introduced a new item in the tooltip “Effect recharge 10 seconds”.
Please tell me this is per ally. Having an active chance to apply the effect to every ally individually all the time >> having it apply to one ally every ten seconds? If so, it’s broken again.
Event mail may still be counting invisibly towards your mail total. In the past I know that 7/10 showing, with 3 event mails meant you were full, regardless of the fraction shown. I only mention this because this always seems to happen around events.
I know that the button is orange because it is a deal. When the deal is over, that button will disappear as with the minis in your purchase history because it is no longer available at that price. The buttons are actually hot links to purchase items you’ve bought before, it’s letting you know that it’s available again for a limited time.
Hope you get your crystals, either way.
I assume they had all the info they needed to fix it then :o
One of the threads I was following was moved to the “exploit reports” sub-forum, as pmed to me by a dev, but the link the message gave me to follow up on the thread led to a 404… where is the exploits report thread my comment was moved to?
1. Did you have fast ground targeting box checked under options? (F11)
This makes any AoE spells land directly at your feet/location instead of giving the radial that can place the spell at another location within range. If you have that option checked, you would need to be almost directly atop the NPC you wanted to use it on.
Fast ground targeting was not checked. I tried using the box on top of the 4 NPCs of the stage anyway, and they did not scan.
2. Did you receive a tassi box and the event UI (upper right corner) updated?
Upon receipt of the box, the event UI would display text to use the kit on the specified NPCs.
I received the tassi box but the event UI did not update. Even after being able to scan the four NPCs on the stage (see below) the UI still showed “Talk to Marjory Delaqua” for the entirety of the instance.
3. When you have the tassi box equipped, are you using the #1 skill to bring up the radial for targeting the NPC’s that will prompt the conversation to progress the story? If you use just the [F] Key, that will only bring up a generic conversation and not progress the event.
I was using the 1 skill.
4. If the event UI updated after receiving the Tassi box, when you scanned the characters did the event UI update again to cross their names off the list?
N/A, it did not update.
5. Before you left, was the event UI updated and had you speak with Kiel to end/complete and you received rewards?
N/A, it did not update, however I was able to collect my rewards (see below)
6. If you left earlier before the event completed and were able to get back in, did you destroy the tassi box from your inventory to receive a new one that would progress the event and allow the scanned representatives to relay their conversations about the events that happened?
I did leave early several times and was able to get back in to watch the story from the beginning 4 times. I destroyed the tassi box each time. On the fourth tassi box, the event UI did NOT update, but I saw the red stars above the scannable NPCs for the first time and was able to complete the instance blindly without help from the UI.
Thank you, that seems to have worked (deleting my kit a couple times until it worked).
I talked to Marjory in the Scene of the Crime instance and she gave me the box. The quest info remains “Talk to Marjory Delaqua”.
I am able to scan Mai Trin -without- a red star above her head, and initiate the Marjory dialogue. After Mai Trin becomes suspect, it still says “Talk to Marjory Delaqua” who offers no new dialogue options and there are no red stars on any of the NPCs on the stage.
Scanning them does nothing. I’ve tried the instance 3 times, thinking it might just be bugged, but it seems my Living Story is stuck.
So a trait actually makes the skill worse?
