…You’re more concerned about gear sorting than you are about the fact that we don’t actually have a working trade function?
I want “The Nightbringer” at a title. iCry
Both options are horrible.
“muh exotics no longer wurk omfg mah gear sux!”
There still is NO grind required to play the game effectively, exotics are more than sufficient to do every single piece of content this game has or likely will ever have.
“b-but Zanryu muh fractals”
Dailies will allow you to earn laurels, which will allow you to purchase various Ascended trinkets of your choice. I currently have full Ascended trinkets without having to actively grind them out because gasp I did dailies by playing the game!
“But I have to grind for exotics omfg!!! Anet sed no grindz!”
Exotic was meant to be something that would take a fair amount of time to acquire, however as has been a usual trend the playerbase was underestimated. In order to give people a thing to actually strive for they introduced Ascended. It’s not gamebreakingly stronger and can still be acquired by everyone, albeit a longer period of time and more effort to acquire.
tl;dr
Casuals stop crying about Ascended weapons and stop worrying about what other people have. The weapons are fine as is, just put in some work.
Or you know.. Anet could just make them truly account bound to give them one more factor that’ll make people want them. It’s not exactly gamebreaking given the time and money needed for one, and if you go through THAT much effort for a legendary you should be allowed to use it across the account on every character that can wield it.
It would be nice for old weapons to be available in a non-tradable form so as not to impact the market value AS much, and to also have new ones added. Halloween is my favorite time of year and I’m looking forward to some nice skins and events!
I just want Scarlet and Faolin to have hot lesbian plant sex and make Caithe watch.
…So in order to be a villain you have to suffer? In the same ways there are different personalities there are different senses of morality. Some people are just evil, despite whatever experiences they go through in life. Personally I enjoy Scarlet, she’s chaotic and is one of the few characters that seems to have life to her.
Just because a villain doesn’t fit YOUR personal idea of what a good villain is doesn’t mean they aren’t a good villain. She’s chaotic, a little unpredictable, somewhat playful, and definitely evil. That makes for an interesting and entertaining villain in my book.
Hey guys, just wanted to put up a vid of the Tequatl killing guild Overflow One defeating Tequatl, we’ve still got spots open so if you see us around at a Tequatl kill and want in feel free to shoot someone a pm or ask for an invite!
Not really, Evades and Blocks are also invuln skills, and they also get stuff built into them.
EP/BS both take up a utility slot and have long CDs compared to other classes skills.
And you’re comparing the class with the highest damage, HP and armor to classes with much lower base survivability. They have built in stuff because they NEED it. As much as I dislike thieves, I still see why they have all those evades and stuff. They have a low health pool and armor.
Because ANY class needs that many stealths and evades. Yup. Totally.
As the title would suggest, I need help with a WvW build and gear setup.
I have yet to acquire a second set of armor and am currently using a zerker set, which isn’t what I want for WvW. I’m having trouble coming up with the gear setup I’d like, so I’ve come to ask those of you more experience than myself for some help on the subject.
This is what I’ve come up with, would this be a plausible build to use in both roaming and large scale zerging (assuming I switch out my sword/WH for a hammer while keeping my GS). The build is 0/0/30/20/20 using Melandru Runes in the armor with Lemongrass Poultry Soup and Potent Maintenence Oil.
Also, how would this build hold up after the next patch, or rather how do you think it would? Thanks for any advice or suggestions.
God you people are spiteful.
It does my heart good to see a stealth class get a major nerf to that mechanic. For those of you complaining about a useless trait line… you do realize every class tends to have a PvE and a PvP build right? There are traits on classes that are useful for PvP or PvE, but usually not both as they don’t offer what you’d need in such a situation depending on your build or what your’e going for. Surely the other 4 trait lines of a Thief could be used for PvP and the stealth line could be used in a PvE build?
jajajaja?
You should learn more about classes before posting. at most a thief will run 10 SA in pve, only for reduced init on stealth to maintain long term backstab rotations. otherwise no thief with half a brain would run SA in PVE, its a complete DPS waste and all it serves is to draw more agro to your thief. So SA is already useless in PvE, so lets make it useless in pvp also? good idea right jajajaja?
Huehuehue that’s not completely useless ehuaehuaehua.
Being able to stealth for over half a fight is complete garbage of a mechanic and anyone with half a brain would realize that. Thieves already have excellent dodge and access to blinds, oh and let’s not forget the teleports. The amount of stealth they have to go with that is absolute overkill. Some kind of nerf to it is more than welcome in my opinion, please accept my sincerest apologies that you can no longer spend most of your time in stealth.
Pfftbahhaahahahaha sorry, I couldn’t say that with a straight face. Ah. A thread of kitten thieves sure does brighten one’s day.
Ohh yeah I forgot about the infamous 30/30/30/30/30 thief build, with double trait selections, max dps with d/d, perma stealth with d/p, infinite teleports with sb, max evades and boonsteal with s/d (did i mention thief has at least 4 weapons swaps too). You certainly know how the game works
And for the record I dont run a stealth build on my thief, I find stealth more useful on my engi and mesmer
Someone seems upset.

With those big shaggy coats it seems like they would be native to cold climates.
You don’t get much colder than dead.
Oh ho ho! It’s funny because when something dies its body is no longer warm! And the Dolyaks are native to a cold climate, so they could be dead and it would be fine, oh ho ho! So funny!

In a game as casual as Guild Wars no weapon can really give a player the status of “good”. There’s good and bad players all around, and aside from map completion and a few dungeon runs you can simply exchange gems for gold to get a Legendary. I wouldn’t feel bad about running with a bad player wielding a legendary in the same way I wouldn’t feel bad about running with a guy with an ascended weapon that’s not good.
If Legendaries were truly hard to obtain, as in anything but time consuming, then I could understand holding Legendary users to a higher standard of gameplay, but let’s face it. Legendaries are just a time consuming grind that you can mostly buy from gem conversions if you so choose. Nothing to really worry over.
I get a fair amount of Powerful Venom Sacs, Vials of Powerful Blood, and Ancient Bones while farming champions in Frostgorge. Nothing super amazing, but certainly not too horrible of a rate, not to mention what I get from the boxes I open afterwards.
You might want to complain about SOME T6 mats, rather than lumping them all together. It sucks that you can’t get a whole lot with ease I suppose, but they are required for the most powerful armors and weapons in the game. I don’t imagine it should be a cakewalk.
With all due respect, I think you missed my point about “direct” vs. “indirect” drops. Champ loot does drop a moderately dismal amount of T6 mats, but, for starters, you have no control over what type you get.
Your point was that it’s difficult to get T6 mats via the direct method of acquiring them. I acknowledged that, and to be quite honest T6 mats have roughly the same value if we exclude Vials of Powerful Blood, even if you have no control over which you get you can easily sell them on the TP and buy what you want. A mix of direct and indirect methods. Obvious people are getting enough drops to supply the market with them, it may not be 10 or 20 in an hour of farming, but you do get them. Like I said they’re used for the highest tiers of armor and weapons in the game, should they really be THAT easy to get?
You can go directly farm coin and buy them, same effect really, though honestly that tends to be more effective than farming for mats alone. Farm 6g in an hour, or try to farm 2-3 T6 in an hour.
Stealth OP nerf plz
I’ve used the Hammer CC build (Hammer+Mace/Shield 0/0/20/20/30 – Soldier’s Amulet) and a Skullcrack variant (Greatsword + Mace/Shield 0/20/20/0/30 – Berserker’s Amulet). I use Superior Runes of Lyssa.
The Hammer build offers excellent team support but is lacking in the ability to burst, you can switch out the mace for an axe or sword but your ability to support your team diminishes greatly as you lose out on an extra block and your longest stun. In return you can gain mobility and extra damage, but the choice is up to you. You can tank a fair amount, but if you want to cause a lot of damage I wouldn’t recommend the build I use. It’s almost strictly for support.
The Skullcrack variant build I use, and it varies in the fact that I’m not using almost exclusively signets in my utilities, can still offer good support via Skullcrack as well as being able to soak damage with Counterblow, Shield Stance, and Endure Pain.
Both builds have the same utility skills slotted, I have Balanced Stance to stomp and keep from being controlled in team fights, Endure Pain to soak damage while supporting my team or ressing/stomping, and Signet of Stamina for passive Adrenaline gain as well as condition removal. I use Signet of Rage as my elite because of its short cooldown, great boons, and condition removal with Superior Runes of Lyssa.
Stop by my youtube channel to see them in action, I’m only rank 16 currently but I feel as if I do well enough. Hopefully you find a build that suits you, though the ability to swap between multiple builds based on your team’s needs would be useful.

According to the wiki Berserker Stance granting immunity to conditions for its duration is a bug. So why are we abusing bugs fellas?
Oh lawdy lawdy lawdy.
I use gw2TP.net as well, the art of flipping is simple to learn, the hard part is finding an item that you can effectively flip. In the week or so I’ve tried it out I’ve seen at least 5 markets become utterly worthless, though I do have them saved to see if I can make use of them later.
I ended up putting up an FS farming vid for a friend since my server uses a different route but I gave a link to yours in the description. Good luck with more videos and with the flipping.
… Wait, so people actually think one person should be able to resist two or more people’s CC for a prolonged period of time? What is this I don’t even. One person shouldn’t be able to sit there and mitigate damage/conditions/CC from two or more people unless they just have THAT much more skill.
Music and friends. Lots of both. You’ll get bored quickly without something ot make the game go by.
This amounts to “waaaah we can’t get to the champs fast enough so help us kill them before the people doing it for money/levels can!!!!”. Which is petty beyond belief. The routes aren’t hard to learn and if they need the champions they can very easily wait about five minutes for the train to reach them. You and your friends aren’t forced to farm, nor is the zerg forced to stop their farm. Everyone wins.
Of course, if you’d like to join the farm.. as I said before it isn’t very hard to learn the route.
I think the people who want to see a champion dead in less than 10 seconds are the entitled persons, not me.
Coming from the guy asking for champions to take longer to kill, not because he genuinely wants a challenge, but because he wants to make more money. Yeah, okay.
I wouldn’t mind if they took a few seconds longer, 12 seconds a kill is just.. disheartening. Though, to be fair many people are able to make it to the champions and kill them. I’m even doing it without a party. Turn your graphics down or get a new computer are your only options it sounds like. Sounds kinda heartless sure, but really if you can’t handle the game then why are you playing?
I think one of the more likely scenarios is we’re going to see a few “NERF TEQUATL IS 2 HARD PLOX” threads. You know, since a lot of people tend to request a nerf if they can’t beat a boss by spamming 1.
I’d agree they need to be buffed up a tad considering how easily they die to a large group of players, but your reasoning is just aweful. Is that what this game has become? Players driven solely by greed and the desire to make money as fast as they can? While I’ll agree making money is important that shouldn’t be the reason you suggest updates. Come on man, you’re better than this.
Also, pretty much what people said before. Get better gear for more damage so you can efficiently tag, turn your graphics to the minimum, and if all else fails get a new computer or go do the kiddie farm in Queensdale.
Oh lawdy
lawdy lawdy
Champion farming in Frostgorge Sound, it’s quick to pick up and very easy.
Honestly, it’s very well done, but I have an issue with it. It looks nothing like Tequatl. It’s a giant T-Rex.
Any time, saves me the trouble of making one haha. Good luck with your videos and channel.
When I found the love of my life. Our eyes met and we engaged in combat, and once I bested her she shrunk herself a bit and we’re now companions, lovers, and best friends. <3

WATCH YO MOUTH
What, I’m just talkin’ bout Quatl!
WE CAN DIG IT
I think Zhaitan and Tequatl had a little under the desk action going, what kind of dragon says “sweet cheeks”? I fully support gay dragon rights, but I’m just sayin’ man. I think Tequatl’s acting up ’cause Zhaitan dumped him.
Nice guide for Queensdale, though personally I tend to stay away from the more well known champ runs since people will likely already know how to do it and if they don’t it’s easy to pick up in game. If you’re going to make them though I’d recommend showing off the Frostgorge Sound farm as well.
I think charged lodestones were ridiculously out of sync with the prices of other lodestones. I think a reasonable price is somewhere in the range of 1 to 1.5 gold. I applaud Anet for increasing the supply of them.
Why should they? The drop rate and the # of mobs in game that drop that specific lodestone are probably the same as any other lodestone. Drop rate/supply is not the contributing factor to Charged Lodestone’s price.
I reckon it is largely based on demand, considering the numerous, highly-regarded items that use Charged Lodestones.
You may want to pay only 1 to 1.5G but there are many more buyers out there who are willing to pay much more than you do, and the suppliers are more than happy to sell to them.
It’s the same on the opposite end of the spectrum though, some people may only want to sell them at 3g or higher but there’s a large enough amount of people that are content with getting a smaller amount of money for their lodestones. Prices change, for better or for worse it’s just what happens.
Or you know.. let the people that are willing to put in the work to farm like maniacs reap the rewards? It’s not a broken amount of gold/hour like Deadeye and everyone has equal access to it. The zerg doesn’t prevent you from playing normally, in fact one could argue it somewhat helps in keeping your zones champion free as you explore. In FS you have a large group available to do Jormag since they tend to want to get the chest from him too.
I don’t like how some of the people in a zerg behave, nor the mob mentality, but I don’t think the main method of making money for most people should be nerfed into the ground like that in a game that probably already holds the title of “Most Things Nerfed”.

I’ve been getting roughly the same rate of drops.
It’s just as much Anet’s fault as it is the player’s. Prices are driven up by the laws of supply and demand AND the greed of the playerbase. However, on Anet’s side.. well. They give us these ways of money making that players take advantage of, and they are able to do it for so long and it’s so efficient that once it’s removed it leaves them at the top of the food chain and anyone that was unable or didn’t know about it can’t compete.
The Liadri fight itself was good as it was. The only bother in it was the rifts, which bring a frustrating element of randomness along.
Ditch the rifts and she’s a good scripted boss that you will defeat after enough practice.
EDIT:
Though I get your point Zanryu, I still think the rifts are not fair, especially when you have classes which do not have easy access to stability or evade.
Every class has access to stunbreaks. If you pay attention and see the rift spawn be ready with it to get out and continue your fight. If not the rifts, then something else will need to be at least somewhat unpredictable.
I’ve beaten Liadri and I can honestly say it had absolutely nothing to do with player skill. I basically kept feeding tickets to the Ringmaster until I got lucky with 1. orb RNG and 2. being able to find safe spots in P2 because the red circles are nearly impossible to see.
Any encounter that relies on RNG and visual limitations as heavily as this one does as a means of “difficulty” is not indicative of skill whatsoever as far as I’m concerned. I wanted a real challenge and instead I got this. It was a very poorly designed fight and by far the least amount of enjoyment I’ve had in GW2.
Have you read any guides in how to deal with her fight phases? You can also turn off Post Processing to remove the ‘blind’ effect she randomly chucks at you. The aoe circles that 1 shot you follow a fixed pattern everytime you fight her. Knowing what you’re getting into is half the battle. Understanding how the red circles pattern work will give you less trouble than you would’ve had. Oh and the cosmic rifts spawn at the same places too during phase 1 :p
Turn off Post Processing? That is cheating! ..and not how the content was supposed to be played it also wasn’t meant to be watched on youtube or any other site. you were meant to figure out how to do everything all by yourself otherwise they would have told you in game.
Now I agree with those who are saying she needs to be fixed! As others have said she isn’t based on skill but luck and if you want challenge that is what the Gambit NPC is for! This is a very poorly designed fight that is designed to be unfair instead of challenging. If everyone keeps trying to disagree with those who say this needs to be fixed then you will only get more crap like this in the future. Liadri needs to be fixed as many are saying. camera sucks doesn’t even work right on the balcony before you enter. Notifying effects on the ground need to be made more obvious. Come on it is a metal grated floor..90% of the animation isn’t even there. One shot mechanics are completely lazy cop out instead of designing challenge into the event. etc.. etc.. Please fix Liadri and when you bring her back don’t take away the mini like you did with the Moa races!
There has to be some form of RNG in it or, as I’ve already stated, people could simply learn the rotations of her attacks and take her down with zero issue. This is the entire reason we had people farming Deadeye, because his attacks were predictable with very little margin of change. It was a boss you could do with muscle memory alone, requiring no skill past the initial learning how to do it phase. Without some kind of significant RNG factor (the Cosmic Rifts) Liadri would be in the exact same boat. It can be very frustrating, but killing Liadri is possible. It wasn’t intended as something just anyone can do. It’s something only those that are skilled are able to succeed in, and if you’re unable to complete it then you have to either get better or just deal with it.
Basically, when it comes to getting your precious mini.. it’s time to put up or shut up, and if you’ve got nothing to put up, shut up. Don’t whine and moan.
hi guise meet mai waifu
In all seriousness though, aside from changing the color of the AoE circles the fight is fine. If the portals weren’t RNG then it’d be far too easy to learn the pattern and kill them. In fact, the first phase is easily a 90% success rate as the white portals that spawn aren’t RNG, nor is the pattern of her AoE. Kill the rift, go to the portal, wait for the AoE, count three seconds, dodge, collect your Orb of Blazing Light, go straight north and throw it at Liadri, continue north as the AoE starts count to three and dodge. Now imagine having the entire fight down like that. Just no. There has to be some kind of RNG element to it or the fight can be learned in and out and require no real skill or reflexes.
The mechanics, though very annoying, are fine. It can be done. Just change the colors a bit. (Though honestly I had no issue seeing the red circles.)
See, I love that. Taking damage or holding a point don’t contribute to your score, when really if you’re sitting there being a bunky mofo you should be awarded for taking the kind of damage you’re likely to take. I remember a game I had with some elitist who trashtalked everyone on my team and I called her out on it, and after the game (which we lost) I had the least amount of points because instead of going and trying to damage everything I was holding them off points and taking on more than one of them in multiple situations, resulting in far less kills than my teammates. Apparently my lack of points meant I did absolutely nothing to contribute.
It’s arguably easier to stand on a point and hold it, especially if you’re a bunker guardian and enemies don’t focus you anyway – in fact you get ignored most of the time in team fights. Isn’t it appropriate for the role that takes more active gameplay and decision making to be rewarded with more points?
Let me put it this way. Damagers on your team must worry about 1) killing opponents while 2) surviving, plus 3) supporting teammates, and 4) controlling the rest of the map. Bunkers don’t worry about killing, they don’t need to worry about surviving, they don’t have to even move anywhere on the map, they just support. That’s all they need to care about. Therefore, they get rewarded points for supporting. It just makes sense.
I’m not saying those taking active roles should be rewarded less points, but a key point is that when bunkering if you do get focused, and in my experience it happens a fair amount, there should be some system in place to award points for damage taken. In the same way it makes sense to get points for actively fighting and killing opponents, doesn’t it make sense for someone who’s sitting there taking the heat off his team to get points as a reward rather than to get nothing?
Did you win or lose?
Actually its almost worth losing to hear everyone blame each other and whine about everyone else being noobs.
I stood and guarded a point the whole game, never lost it. My team mates all zerged middle point and beaten every time. However because i had lowest score i was the reason we lost!
