I think if you want a good match you need to try less or let some of the guilds go… same thing that was said about JQ a while back. The reality is the tides have turned and BG has the best coverage at the moment and not that everyone else is slacking… JQ lost alot of asian and some N/A players for well known reasons and will probably take some time to reorganize. I just do not know how to say this without offending anyone but BG has a tendency to go extremely quiet when losing and be very loud when winning which might strike as the practice of boasting. JQ for example doesn’t strike me like that and hopefully BG will prove to be a gracious winner as well. The coverage it’s winning the game and nothing else.
Finally, I want to congratulate everyone, good job and good fights out there. BG congratulations for the first place it is well deserved and long overdue, you guys fought hard and hold it together, it is your time to shine!
JQ even though you come in second this week you have been a gracious winner and a rock solid T1 server for the longest time. All my respects! I am sure you will get everything back in order and make a comeback stronger than ever.
Needless to say while might be a bit biased there SoR just makes me proud all around the clock. SoR Asian Prime and all players N/A off time you guys are the best that I have ever seen, always show up and successfully fight against greater numbers for that the whole server owes you a big debt of gratitude. SoR N/A, there isn’t much I can say, you have earned your opponents praises and delivered it all.

You are totally spot on.

As we mentioned to most folks, SOR Asian Prime only had the numbers to hold 1.5-2 maps. We were really blessed to have the NA crew pop in from time to in the last month to help but we told them not to make it a habit to push PPT.

The chief reason was that end of the day, it’s a game.

And if the game was to chase after a number we knew we couldn’t reach other than playing longer and longer hours, it would become work. Then it would cease to be fun and soon after that would be burnout.

And worse after that would be losing friends we made in ts.zerodrama.org.

SOR Asian Prime will fight the battles we can fight. And the battles we can’t fight we will rest and leave the results in the hands of the Six Gods.

Confusion and retaliation were intended to punish their victims for lack of awareness. They’re like Empathy and Backfire from GW1. Confusion applies to an enemy, Retaliation applies to yourself.
The issue is that too many players are incapable of developing situational awareness and end up punished by these conditions. Instead of making these players adapt, anet nerfs these skills so they don’t have to.

Problem is games where player skill is required don’t pull in money anymore. The shareholders say nerf these things and make Arrow carts overpowered and the devs listen.

No and No. These two servers have perfectly fine North American timezone, and don’t need more.
True and fair people will advice servers other than their own.
My advice is to go Crystal Desert, they have bad NA and need a big improvement, or Dragonbrand.

JQ needs more wvw NA guilds. JQ is mostly a PVE server with awesome commanders who can win fights out manned. That’s how we have been #1. Our tactics on that server are superior. But, right now with all the transfers to Blackgate by HUGE ZERG guilds we can’t keep up. There rarely is a que on any map during any time zone. When there is a que it’s only 5 min.

Blackgate hasn’t received pure zerg transfers, JQ are just scared of not winning for the first time. All tier 1 servers are super zergy. Blackgate puts full force into one or two borderlands like today, but leaving other areas vulnerable. I admit, Blackgate has received transfers, so has Jade Quarry, but mainly SoR. JQ is in first place, I strongly disagree they need more people.
Servers with low NA courage would need the large NA guild much more than any tier 1 or even tier 2 server.

I would suggest Sea of Sorrows, good server and community with experienced players that suferred from mass transfers out to a certain server. They deserve a second chance. I am on SoR so not biased.

Ummn, in the last 8 weeeks BG finished 2nd, then finished 1st, finished 3rd a few times, then finished 2nd again. Does not seem the score remains as stagnant as you are trying to suggest.

Overall BG seems to be higher than sor.

Trying to see the connection between the post and the answer…
Since the paid transfers BG by far got the most transfers out of all servers…
They benefited from 2 server implosions like SoS and KN so the medal count should be higher.

If you are looking for a challenge now and help be a balancer you should choose SoR during those times(I play on JQ).

What should have happened and I think if it did happen we would have had 3 possibly close servers was all the oceanic/sea went to SoR and all the NA went to BG.

Had that happened this tier would have gotten and stayed interesting.

I completely agree and said that already. It did changed my perception about some guilds which supposedly were the best of the best and just took the easy ride.

While a huge SoR zerg is chewing away at one of the two keeps, all the northern supply camps regularly fall to the enemy…and stay that way for multiple ticks. NO one reclaims them except for PUGs. For the record, yes, I am on SoR. Yes, I have been engaged in WvW since the betas. No, I’m not mistaken about this.

If our “havoc squads” snicker aren’t reclaiming lost camps (they don’t) and they aren’t capturing enemy camps (they don’t), then what the kitten are they doing?

A-Net should really consider a complete ratings reset every 6 months or so. After awhile it is so hard for servers to switch tiers it just doesn’t make sense. Some servers will never get the chance to prove themselves against higher tier servers unless A-Net manually moves them like what happened with SF. Now SF is doing very well against the tier above them and was never properly rated in the first place due to a bad use of the Glicko system. A ratings reset every 4-6 months will keep things interesting in my opinion.

I don’t think it would be a good idea maybe within a tier apart at most, otherwise it would result in a complete wipe and a bunch of uneven matches which would bore or discourage lots of players. I agree something needs to be done so we get some diverse match ups.
