Welcome IRON to SoR! I think a little introduction to N/A servers is in order. I can only say very impressive work and that you came to the right place.
Hopefully more will join.
so i was hanging out with JQ’s pve scrubs in LA, we came up the idea of creating the " server motto", sort of like the House motto in game of throne series, here is what we have so far.
Blackgate, once you go black, you never go back.
Jade Quarry, been here done that ( i think it’s very suitable)

Due to some unfortunate events, mostly my fault, I am now stepping down as the commander for RISE.Little did I know, my little 5 sentence troll post would become such a big deal in T1. If I would have known you guys take the forums so seriously, I would have never said anything. Back in T2, if I would have posted a troll thread, TC and FA would have trolled me back and it would have created laughs. That’s not the case for T1. Therefore, I apologize to my server, guild, and other servers that were involved. Just because I made a troll post and it “made my guild look bad” doesn’t mean my guild is full of trolls and trash talkers. Anyone who has posted unnecessary bashing or trash talking in any form has been dealt with. This was not forced upon me. This is my own voluntary action to step down and no longer command for RISE. Again, my apologies.
Honestly you should of apologized to the SoR guilds that you trolled, stay as a commander to set a trend and lead by example afterwards. Even though you say stepping down wasn’t forced on you kinda look like it was. Your own post shows that you still believe that wasn’t a big deal and even quote somebody else “made my guild look bad” proves that you were pressured into such action.
I mean, not to say that someone didn’t ask me to step down or what not; but it was ultimately my decision. Now whether or not people start PMing me in game or mailing me to talk me back into commanding, that’s not out of the window.
Thank you for clarifying that. This decision it is between yourself, your team mates and your server and has nothing to do with SoR. As you can see some people were deceived by your original post and decision which redirected their anger against SoR players and guilds.

Just like to officially welcome IRON from Desolation to Sanctum of Rall. Today(5/10/13) IRON announced that they will be joining us and becoming part of the family.

Two successful guild transfers. RISE to Blackgate. EMP/RE to Dragonbrand. Yes there is a lot of drama, just mentioning EMP transferring to Dragonband gets people riled up.
I know one thing, SoR needs to go…. NOW
If they don’t leave, they just going to get squashed like a bug like they always do. SoR is worthless in T1.
You’re out of your league DB, go back to your thread.
As it stands now, any of the 3 T1 servers would mop the floor with DB and send it weeping back to T2. None of those NA guilds you got were very good to begin with, and your NNK while it seems strong and big for T2 and below it is not big enough for T1. Maybe evenly matched numbers wise by SoR, but outmatched by JQ and BG without question.
Reign in that arrogance, you haven’t been tested yet. And if you are relying on those T1 guilds you acquired, then think again, there’s a reason they ran from T1 to begin with.
I’m all for smack talk, but I wouldn’t recommend taunting, you may regret it in the future. I know the team leads from CO, they resemble a lot of how I run my own ship. Mayoken and Dekar are two fine team leads. Dekar himself even being a pretty hardcore gamer and team lead. When he was in SF he was toned down from what he probably is now. If you let that guy lose on a roster and whip ppl in to shape, I highly doubt their grou kitten omething to be trifled with. Not to mention Mayo’s style of leading is pretty solid as well.
I don’t know about that but there is a saying…When the going gets tough, the tough get going…
In the case of CO core when the going got tough they jumped servers not once but twice, from SBI to Kaineng and recently to Dragonbrand.
I just call it as I see it.
Having said that I wish them the best and may the best win!
As I said, I wasn’t going to let CO die on Kaineng. Even the last guild, RE on Kaineng is getting tired of holding up the server and WvW for long hours. No other server appeale to us after many meetings with diff reps and our scout reports lol. We didn’t go to DB to roll T2 because we didn’t know we would. We went for their unique community.
Gratz to BG people you roxx keep it on long run ! And SoR fight to get rank 2 in T1 you have the chance to beat JQ now so get them before DB push to T1.

Maybe, a few but please do not say all. Love how people make judgements on server they have never even met in battle. Wait a month and the dragons might be in T1… There is no rush for us as you can see by our slow progression up the tiers… We are nothing like a bandwagon, yet.
The slow progression you speak of is due to glicko not by choice just saying lol. And multiple guilds coming to JQ LA to recruit is low you seem respectable I would talk to them about it personally as it reflects badly on the server as a whole.
Wow … Go look at millennium again under Dragonbrand … LOL. We sat in most tier we went through for more than one week often times not even winning that tier… So this due to glicko thing is just laughable..
You do know how GLICKO works right? Because of how you guys are winning you are going to be required to win by more every week to maintain your rating gains otherwise starting next week you will gain around 15-20 then after that you will LOSE rating for not increasing how much you win by. To be honest, if DB wanted to get into T1 faster you messed up. You should have won the first week, taken your 70, won the 2nd week taken you 50, then LOST this week to lose around 30, then won next week to win back 70 for a net gain of 40 instead of 30, then won the week after for another gain of 40. Which would have brought you to 80, and then you grind out the last 30 ELO. As things stand now, you will hit glass ceiling next week and then you will be in T2 for a long time now unless one of the T1 servers implodes(if you want to history see BG v SoR v IOJ, where BG sat in T2 for 11 weeks until SBI imploded).

If i was from SoR doing this, i would definitely use SoR as the guild tag, because i know a majority of people would always directly assume that since the guild tag is SoR, it can’t be from SoR. If i was from JQ doing this or any other server , i would still use SoR because the blame is directly diverted to BG then. Ever heard of reverse psychology?? Moreover, if he had used some Guild Name, then it might have been a bit difficult to find out about his origins. But since, he is directly coming on with a server name, it’s pretty much obvious what his intentions are from using that name as his guild tag i.e. to divert the blame to BG in both of the possible scenarios.
I’m surprised you would use reverse psychology. By definition reverse psychology is often used on children due to their high tendency to respond with reactance. Besides of the exception to the rule, nobody would use their true identity to commit a crime.

Let’s be honest, here’s what happened. WM/MEOW/etc transferred to BG and started fighting NA/OC/AZ timezone and got wrecked. Jang and co seeing they couldn’t compete changed their schedules and started logging in en masse for EU TZ which was dead for the other 2 servers.
Whatever may come out of Jang’s mouth, 2 things are clear: 1. WM isn’t in it for the “challenge”. and 2. They don’t have the chops for T1 combat.”
I would only say, he that is good for making excuses is seldom good for anything else.
Let’s not put SOR out of the picture yet, they can and does have an impact to the fights/scores in T1. Anything can happen!
I don’t wanna flame-bait or anything but look at the PPT distribution. SoR had equal PPT to JQ and BG during NA time which is their strongest time on the field. Sure, they can impact the scores but that would be all. SEA time, we all know how it will go down.
Just to clarify how the system works, JQ and SoR N/A start way less behind and are fighting to take over T-3 fortified towers and keeps. If BG N/A would be as strong as SoR’s they would maintain the ppt score gap throughout the N/A time as well.

If you ask any sensible SoR member, everyone will agree that we have gotten transfers, and we’re quite thankful for it. All of our friends in TSYM, AFS, HIRE and so on (I can’t recall everyone off the top of my head, I’m sorry! ) are valued members of our community and WvW strategy. I think the idea of bandwagoning simply comes from the volume of transfers; when SoS disbanded, Blackgate got what was perceived to be a much larger influx of guilds than SoR, hence the “stacking” accusations and whatnot. You cannot deny that your WvW capacity spiked as a result. Similarly with Kaineng, Blackgate received multiple guilds in one go, while SoR has received a number of guilds over the last few weeks in a more spread out manner. The difference is simply whether your WvW population increases in spikes, or incrementally.
As far as SoR donating gold: I listen in to our weekly WvW strategy meetings on TS, and the one thing that gets repeated and stressed every week is that we will not offer gold to other guilds. Should they choose to come over, we will be glad to run dungeons and help other guilds farm for gold, and I’m pretty sure we would also have folks who simply donated gold. However, I think that on principle, this is different from “buying” guilds. I’m sure we can accommodate transferring the last remaining members or whatnot, but we wouldn’t simply say “we’ll give you X gold to transfer,” nor would we meet demands of that nature. Our belief is that you should come to SoR because you want to be here, and if you aren’t willing to put in the time (to acquire gold) to immigrate over, then I’m not so sure how strong your commitment is.

First, sry about that I can speak English very well. So I can write wrong or rudely.
Second, Reason – why went to BG.
- first of all, I really sry to KN. we had worked in KN for 4 months but we were dying coz boring battle, not good combination server, and guild’s betrayer etc. so I wanted to go EU for training but we couldn’t coz some reason. So we had to choice 1 battle server.
1. There r many WM’s betrayer is composed +10 NA players who I trained in SoR and they kept talking bad about WM. How can we go to SoR? And many KN player went to SoR coz maybe they want big Zerg.
2. I had received many threat as Mail and whisper from SoR. There r many gentle recommender but there r many rude man. Teatag? About that I was really angry. Even nowadays I have received many threats everydays. How can I go SoR?
If u want to blame me about moving, first, u should to blame them.
3. I had collected data about T1 for 2 weeks before we move. It’s many different about i have heard. I saw BG have worst PPT half of day and server was dying. They is wiped from big JQ and big SoR floater. Also I saw from early Asian zone to lately Asian zone BG 4 borderland didn’t have Que coz they didn’t like to play this time.
4. I always want to play with other Korean. But we always didn’t. So I decided to play in BG’s other Korean for not much remaining my last playtime.
5. WM’s member applied and wanted.
Third, Don’t worry I heard someone saw us about big zerg. Haha. I have seen many liars and mouth coward for 10 months. We always play about 10~+15 at prime time- honestly we don’t have prime time just work 24hours and we just have 50 members. But I have seen always moving big Zerg enemy afraid dying and they laugh to us. If we r bad, don’t talk about us. We r just small guild like battle.
The ultimate measure of man is not where he stands in moments of comfort and convenience, but where he stands at times of challenge and controversy…
Oh man have the last few pages been ugly… trox should have not started all this (because honestly, I do not agree with him), but lets just cut the bullkitten and play the kitten game, eh?

Thank you for the most intense and fun 20 minutes of WvW right there in Lowlands.
Great fights there and i think both servers enjoyed that fight, even though we lost :-)
Always thought there isn’t enough WvW population for 24 or 27 servers and it would be a good idea to just reset and have 6-9 servers for N/A and same for EU dedicated for WvW only and rest for PvE/PvP. That would make the WvW servers pretty much equally or closely stacked.
Keep the paid transfers between WvW servers and free transfers to and from PvE servers.
That should also free the servers resources having to deal with only that specific part of the game.
The sad part is that some have realized that the game can be redesigned in their own image, just complain enough and it will eventually lead to a nerf.
They did manually change Sorrow’s Furnace rating a while back though. They have shown the will to act in similar situations before. A new temporary system wouldn’t be that much of a hassle to implement. I just hope they listen to us. My fear is that I will not be able to enjoy WvW for a very long time, that’s also why I went on here to get our concerns across in a polite manner.
Not to discourage you but keep in mind that quite a few N/A T1 servers (HoD, SBI, SoS, IoJ) have suffered the same faith and Anet did not intervene…
I was thinking that it might be useful to have a thread allowing the players to brainstorm and come up with suggestions and ideas on how to prevent PvDooring enabling the WvW game to focus on player interaction and strategy as opposed to who has best coverage.
I realize that this is not the only problem with the game mechanics and this specific topic is well known and keeps coming up but I think it is beneficial to focus on one subject at a time compiled in one thread.
Keep in mind that with enough positive player support we could motivate and help ANet to make some changes.

BG ascension of tier bracket to #1 = new king

No one is getting a big head on BG. All this does is validate what we have been saying all along . FOO was JQ wvw dominance . They will be missed
Regarding no one I’d agree with you but then we’d both be wrong. I think FOO and JQ in general will just reorganize and come back even stronger. Hopefully SoR gets some SEA/Oceanic players as well, we need the competition to keep the tier balanced.

I think the idea of bandwagoning simply comes from the volume of transfers; when SoS disbanded, Blackgate got what was perceived to be a much larger influx of guilds than SoR, hence the “stacking” accusations and whatnot. You cannot deny that your WvW capacity spiked as a result. Similarly with Kaineng, Blackgate received multiple guilds in one go, while SoR has received a number of guilds over the last few weeks in a more spread out manner. The difference is simply whether your WvW population increases in spikes, or incrementally.
