Game is gona need a dungeon finder, it’ll be god awful for how difficult the dungeons are, but I can’t even get a guild to do them after they’ve gotten their armor.

Well dungeon items are pretty much just for aesthetics, since you can craft and buy with karma (easier now) max level exotic armors.

But the idea is not just for a dungeon finder, it would be for all and any type of group you are looking for.

The only people i normally see around dungeons or AC, and what about people that play later?
All i want in an option to say what you’re looking for… TA EXP. Done. Have the option to invite and request to partys – what’s the issue? Sick of spamming LA..

Yep, that is pretty much what the idea is. Hopefully it is not too hard to implement, the system they had in Guild Wars was a fragment of what they could potentially create.

Ya, it would more or less be an interactive list, that you can invite/message people from, as well as view the players who wish to do certain content, and the content you want to do as well.

I hope they don’t add achievements etc. to it, like they did with PvP, it seems rather pointless, although I can see where they are coming from, it entices players to use the features etc. more because things like achieves and shinies are attached to it.

I just realized that their “lost shores and beyond” didn’t include anything for grouping or community, in exception to the Guild bit.

Seems a little unfortunate, but I am sure they have a mile long list of things they are looking into that we will never see.

If it’s not going to be an automated dungeon finder, that makes the group and teleports you to the dungeon, there’s no point in changing the current LFG tool.

No more “inbetween” lfg tools, just make a proper dungeon finder so we don’t have to wait for an entire hour in LA to get a group for Sorrow’s Embrace .

No….that is the worst form of LFG I could think of, this does not promote anything other than “i wanna farm dungeons” mentality

the automatic kind of LFG caters to people who don’t CARE that they are in a group, they just NEED one to do the content, and couldn’t give 2 kittens about who else is on their team….they just wanna run dungeons mindlessly for tokens etc.

The current LFG feature is practically non-existent, so your “no point” argument is not really an argument, it is just simply: wrong.

Perhaps you should try reading the suggestion before adding your 2 cents, because that tends to just roll them down the drain.

Yes, larger parties would be nice, maybe limit them into entry from some areas, but I so NO reason to have a limit of 5 people in any area other than dungeons and sPvP…..we should be able to have unlimited group size in pve/WvW…

The only issue I could forsee with that, is that the server is near capacity and would not let in the entire group in.

I don’t think you quite understand how it works…although it is not yet fully implemented, it is more or less akin to the current “join in” feature for people on overflows.

Overflows are just other servers anyways, so it is practically the same thing, I don’t think guesting is tied in any way shape or form into the method of actual server transfers.

What bugs and tickets would be reported? You seem to have something else in your head, that may not be true, that is making you doubtful.

It might be with toughness, I am building into tough/vit. but the Wurm test, I was trying to use 2 weapons for the test and noticed that actually having my longbow equipped caused me to take aggro more than my hammer.

I doubt it would stop the “LFG” spam in towns, but it would lower it at least….

Your right it defiantly wont stop the LFG spam but I am betting it would dampen it by at least 60% – 75% and that in any game is a good thing.

And the people that stay in the major cities and spam LFG in Map are the same people that no matter what you did will only sit in towns and never do anything in a game.

It may convert a few, if they are people, and they are logically thinking people, then they would realize than even if they ONLY thing they want to do is dungeons, a LFG feature that lets you create parties anywhere for anything, means anywhere they choose to be is a central hub, and that may make them explore a little, even if it is just running around while they create/look for a dungeon party.

But i’m no expert on these types of people, so they may simply tunnel vision into the same ol’ and stand on some random pole in town with their chat box constantly open :p

Healing Surge Adrenaline. Secret Buff or Bug?

I don’t like the change at all. It became my favorite heal after I dropped Healing Signet, but with this change I can use the adrenaline gain before the heal to my advantage because it’s not there anymore.

Being a Tank with a Hammer and Mace/Shield I never have full adrenaline long so I can use my Adrenaline Skill stuns. Now I might as well just use mending

This doesn’t effect that….the only difference after the buff is that instead of giving 1 bar of adren, it gives full…where is the problem?

Aggro for Warriors

I’m not too sure how the aggro works in this game, but for me it seems to be that I am simply a magnet for all and any attacks.

My main is my warrior, most played, with my alt thief (also 80) right there behind it.

But as a warrior I notice that I take aggro….alot…from everything…all the time!

I can build glass…get aggro
I can build tank…get aggro
I can afk on the other side of the map…get aggro

In dungeons I have noticed this more and more as time goes on, I even put a test to it. Me and a group went into TA and used some random groups as a test, and for alot of these encounters, I never even attacked anything, or even went within 30 ft of the enemies, yet they will come running over to smack me in the face.

Used this test on the wardens prior to Tree battles, and they would endlessly kite around (as long as i didnt go too far) on me.

Used this in the jungle wurm encounter, every single red circle (their spit thing) came to me, even though I was just standing in the pathway near the entrance (or the log on high ground inside the room)

Used this on the pirate boss in Arah, and kited her for about 20 minutes while my team beat on her, following behind me.

Maybe I am just unlucky, but as a thief, guardian, or my ranger alts….i never get this.

Is there some built in hidden aggro mechanic for warriors?

"Land" Access to Southsun shores

It makes no sense why there is a road going there straight from Sparkfly, and you should technically be able to touch Caladon when you walk over that way…

but instead, there is a random area gap between Sparkfly and Southsun, and the area that is supposedly Caladon, is in fact just endless ocean when you look over that way.

Either someone messed up/forgot other zones existed around it…or this entire event was some intern project.

I’m totally against any LFG tool, everyone would be then in a major city jumping around waiting to insta-join something without any efford. I like the way it is now, if you want to do something you just can use the nearest dungeon WP and find someone. This is not hard at all.

for the 20-30 people around the dungeon, there are most likely countless more off doing other things, but they probably still want to do the dungeon as well.

I am one of those people, I like doing dungeons, but I don’t like standing in town/dungeon area spamming LFG, i’m around in various zones doing various things.

You have it completely backwards…

Update: turns out the bottom left corner of the dye slots for heavy Nightmare just do not accept Black dye at all

Bought a new piece and it will not use Black in that slot as well

This is a minor bug, but rather annoying for me.

It would seem the bottom left corner dye slot for the chest piece of heavy Nightmare armor cannot be dyed some colors, and simply removes the color and replaces it with dye remover when you try and exit the dye menu to apply the color.

The color shows in the window, and shows in the slot, but as soon as you try and close the menu and apply it, it vanishes

I don’t know what colors are all effected by this, but the one I am trying to use is Black (just standard “Black Dye”)

Basically: Flesh out the existing LFG system from the original Guild Wars

This is not for a typical dungeon finder mechanic, this is for something more specified and controllable.

Have a Menu/Window you can access that will let you choose from a few basic options (which become more specified)

Select: General PvE, WvW, Dungeons, etc.

And when you select the gameplay you wish to find a group for, it then gives you options that specify what you are looking for.

Example:

-Open Window
-Select “Dungeons” from the dropdown menu
-Window lists all available dungeons (that you are able to enter) and you select the ones you wish to run (via a simple “check mark”)
-This starts a “search” that uses the filters you selected to list (in pages) the users that are also looking to do the same content, as well as their class and level.

From this final search window you can invite people to your party, or attempt to join semi-built parties.

(there will be options for party leaders using this feature to disable self-invites, etc. to their party, for those who wish to build specific party types)

This removes the random aspect of standard dungeon finders (creating parties of random people IT chooses), and also opens up to the opportunity for players to easily build parties for the content they wish to do instead of areas they don’t.

EDIT: Also please restrict party size ONLY in party restricted areas (such as dungeons)

Other areas (PvE / WvW) should have a much larger, if not infinite, party size capability

I just got an email from Anet saying the EPIC NEW CONTENT is now live!

So if I had not been here for this event and just logged in now, what is there? I litterally can’t find any of this “content”

The portal isn’t functioning, and there is not much in terms of information into what we are to be doing right now, there is some “gather things” which…I don’t know, this event is off to a terrible start

EDIT: Also, related; compare the FFXIV cinematic to the actual quality of the fights in that game. Most bosses in FFXIV are dreadfully boring, as is the combat. Who knows how it’ll shape up after the revamp, but currently it falls very short of the epic feel in the cinematic. FFXIV is currently prolly one of the last games you want to look at when talking about actual combat design or fight mechanics.

Which is why I didn’t pull up a gameplay combat video, I also didn’t use it as an encounter example, I used it as a contrast to our own dragon Zhaitan.

Regardless of which way you look at it, Zhaitan is pitiful in so many ways, even compared to the concept art imaging of him in the beginning of the GW2 trailer.

Its true that is a cinematic, but game have found ways, and will continue to find ways, to add some emotion, fear, care and doubt into people’s minds when they start a boss battle, and when the battle is over, you feel relieved and accomplished in the task you completed…

Zhaitan’s fight….leaves you with absolutely nothing except slight disappointment, and during the fight…boredom, these are not the types of feelings a boos battle should be invoking.

Suggestions usually fall upon deaf ears around here though, but there is alot of previous examples in many other games they could draw inspiration from.

I would go as far as translating a turn-based battle into a dynamic one.

Having items that spawn around the “arena” that could be used to do different things, items that cure conditions, or heal an ally, or stun enemies (like a more fleshed out version of the “rocks” you find lying around dungeons, “rocks” that do various different things)

And instead of a singular boss, have the boss split into pieces (arm, leg, torso, etc.) that you can target and destroy individually (like a fleshed out version of the current meta dragon fights)

Destroy the bosses wing, makes it unable to fly and use airborne attacks or wing attacks (prevents a boss “stage” from occurring), destroy its arm (left and right) to prevent it from casting certain skills (maybe left arm casts heavy damage skills, right arm consumes enemies to heal), destroy its head to finish the boss faster, but leaves its damage and healing capabilities…..so risk/reward type of boss battles

And for the record the ONLY boss battles in GW2 so far I have found interesting are the ice corrupted from the CoE sub path, and the Eye fight from near the end of the story…

We got so hyped up over how these ancient powerful beings awakening lost continents and causing great devastation, but it really, REALLY does not show…

Somehow I doubt Zhaitan caused the damage we see, the Arah battle proves that, it just does not add up….he doesn’t have what it takes, hopefully the dragons we fight in the future are actually a threat, and don’t just cling to a tower and yell at you to stop pelting them with rockets.

I saw the trailer for the FFXIV server shut down (they needed to destroy the world because they were shutting the servers down, so they did it in trailer format)

Bahamut puts Zhaitan to shame in terms of threat / kittenery / and just overall fear and emotion that would be attached to a creature that could cause something like this.

Please make us fear the dragons at least a little bit, our current format is too cliche, sometimes it is better not to be the nerves of steel, afraid of nothing, type of hero.

Distance is what we need, as nice as some vertical rendering is (which it is) the “bug” we have for this dungeon is just much better.

If you drain out the water its a default 3 point map…hows that interesting …

well underwater combat is just terrible to start with….replace sharks with some land based animal and really its not a huge difference, just less annoying.

There are a few things I can think of that may make this map pretty interesting:

1.)Remove the Waterfall and Quarry capture points

2.) Instead of having a control point in Graveyard, change it to be some sort of stand, that you need to bring an object to to control…maybe a flag, so lets call it a flagstand.

3.) Have the object (flag) spawn in each base, and require a player to bring it out to the stand in order to capture it, that sounds strategic!

4.) Incentivize the objective of Killing the enemy lord in the base. This gives players a goal to work towards rather than an arbitrary tally score!

This opens up routes for players on the sides of the map to travel and covertly go for the objective, as well as a central objective for the main force of the team to fight over, when control of the center point has been established, this allows the team to try and push forward and attack the enemy teams base!

This sounds familiar…I don’t know why, but oh well! It would be FUN!

for my Asuran Warrior, going for TA then Arah.

At first I thought TA looked kinda “meh” but after trying out some dye combos, I found one that literally makes my character look like they are a skinless monster, kinda disturbingly sinister looking

quick and easy fix, ya, too bad this bug has been around since launch…so regardless of how easy or quick it is, it seems to be very low on their priority list.

We have story mode, we have explorable, how about an “infinite mode”?

This is more on par with the dungeons in GW1, that had multiple floors/levels

If this engine is capable of randomizing environments I can see this being insanely fun if you can have completely randomized floors.

Have various entrances hidden around Tyria that have limitless floors for people to explore.

These dungeon crawls will have no waypoints, so if your group fails, you need to exit and start from floor 1, but to make this actually work, the difficulty would be more in line with general PvE events, standard enemies with veterans mixed in, rather than the ridiculous 5 veteran, 3 elites type of encounters in current dungeons.

I don’t know about rewards though, perhaps karma and gold per floor, increasing with each floor you clear, maybe a chest. New delver achievements for reaching X floor of certain crawls.

Or maybe even LoZ style, where every 5 floors increase difficulty, and each floor has a different variety of enemy to change your tactics.

How is this against smaller groups though, this is effective against a large number of unsuspecting enemies, but me and 2 others I normally WvW with tend to find stray groups, cut off people trying to get to zergs and supply camps

I wouldn’t ever want to see the chests drop outrageously good items; the fact that they’re the only known way to get the Black Lion Salvage Kits is iffy enough.

you can buy BL Salvage Kits directly in the gem store for 300 gems last I checked…

I’ve got 7 BL Salvage kits just from zone completions

Also, there were no Halloween skins for weapons in the first game either, so you can’t even try to compare that, you got hats, and in GW2, you ALSO get hats! o noes!

They are adding new things on top of what they had in GW1, while keeping the same principle.
