no?…nothing? keep the suggestions coming
Hell even a simple commander map ping (like normal map ping…but maybe a little flashier) to get attention to some areas :/
good plan, added 2 more to the list
Any word what-so-ever?
I vote that we have certain markers etc. that a commander should be able to use in order to move troops and teams into locations without having to spam map chat at them.
But also let Commanders manually appoint “Sub-commanders” or “Lieutenants” that can aid in the battle coordination.
1.) Lieutenants: These players would be manually assigned by commanders to be high-value individuals that can aid in leading teams, supplies and troops around in co-ordination with the commander.
The lieutenants would have their own sub-icon that would distinguish them as lieutenants. They also have some of the same abilities a commander would have for map markers and chat.
They are chosen and removed by the commander, so a gold requirement is unnecessary and they can be substituted when available. They are “temporary team leaders”
NOTE: Only 2-3 lieutenants can be chosen by a single commander at any given time. maximum.
2.) Commander markers: These would be simple icons place-able on the map to help players understand where they should and should-not be.
They include such markers as “Attack, Defend, Group, and an Arrow/Move marker”
This can better communicate the directions and locations that groups are heading, and moving to. Ex. A simple Move arrow to a camp, and group icon near the southern entrance of a keep can show that players should quickly take the camp then group at a specific area around the keep for an attack.
3.) Unique Commander markers: These are specialized markers given to commanders to guide their lieutenants, these would only appear to lieutenants and allow for a 10-20 character “text box” to describe situations.
Commanders will also be allowed to place Siege Icons to help choose locations and types for siege equipment to their respective troops.
4.) New UI Window that lists your Lieutenants and their group members (5 man squads)
5.) Chat color differentiate for Lieutenants and Commanders in chat window.

One of the most epic defends I have ever participated in, we (SF) held Stonemist right to the last strand of time we could against you guys (HoD) lord down, area was 1/2 taken, but we managed to pull it back!
Truley crazy battle friends!
Then they took it right after that
If by “right after” you mean 1 1/2 later….but we will be back!
The only area that gave me any form of motion sickness was the river-raft section….holy crap did that ever mess with my poor eyes T.T

I main my warrior in WvW…roam with GS / LB….have 0 issues
maybe its just not your playstyle
For a fully fleshed out Super Adventure Box stand-alone. Maybe even have some kind of “character import” thing that takes a character from your GW2 and turns it into a 8-bit version. Similar to the pre-character creation import that Saint’s Row uses.
But I can’t be the only one who would buy this as its own game….right?
1.) I love Jps, nowhere in my post did I say i disliked them or am bad at them, or anything of the sort, people need to quit putting words in others mouths, because then more people jump on that train and the thread quickly de-rails. I did all 3 Jps in Lions Arch, as well as all 3 borderlands, as well as a few on my list of “not yet completed” for achievements, and I got a grand total of ZERO coins.
The RNG is the problem, not the way you get the chests which have a chance of dropping a coin…stick to the topic and look deeper into a post before responding.
But, if it’s not and it is actual keys…how hard is it really to get? There’s 3 jumping puzzles in Lion’s Arch, and all 3 have a chance to get a coin and are easy to accomplish. I’ve done all 3 every day for the past 3 days and have gotten 4 coins from it. Plus 2 rares, and a few trash greens.
I’ve done nearly as many JPs lately, and gotten only one coin. That’s the problem with leaving it up to the random number generator to decide who gets coins and who doesn’t. It’s random, not fair. There needs to be a fair way to get them, as well.
Is it fair that a guildy got a Precursor out of a chest at the end of Arah’s Explorable mode and I didn’t on the same run? No. Is it fair that less than 15sec after capping a supply camp the enemy steam rolls our group of 5 with a group of 40+? No. Is it fair that other people have a Legendary weapon and I do not? No. But, that’s the thing…. This game isn’t fair, and neither is life.
There does NOT need to be a “fair” way to get them. No, instead there’s work, effort, and play. Sure, it’s a bit random, but the more jumping puzzles you do the better odds you have. This is the same for Precursors, boss loot, player drops, and so on. Even the Ascended crafting pieces for the back piece that drop in Fractals is random.
2.) Nothing you listed is really playable content, it is an item, which has its duplicates in non flashy form as well, much easier to obtain, and hardly gated from you (you can buy the precursor if you so desired, so really everything you can get, except the clovers , to make a legendary is technically available to you.
And about the work and effort part, you can put all the effort in the world into completing as many world bosses, chest locations and jumping puzzles, you want…the point is: it is still COMPLETELY up to chance to obtain it.
Few Questions:
1.) Is the current method of acquiring Continue Coins the only way? If so, this is deliberate “content gating” which I don’t expect from you guys at all.
Leaving access to content completely to “Chance” is absurd, and hopefully you guys have the right mind to have another way to gain these coins.
Spending hours opening chests, not getting keys, and having no access to content that may not last that long is a good way to start kitten people off.
2.) are there any actual rewards for the adventure box? If so, this ties into question 1, and how it would kitten people off even further.
If the current method is set, this it is:
%chance to gain access to this content + %chance to get special rewards from this content.
One hell of an April fools joke if this is true. ha…haha….ha……..
THEY ARE PUTTING INTO THE GAME COME JANUARY/ FEBRUARY That is right they are putting in a LFG tool for the in game UI took me 2 minutes to search the forums to find a Moderator post confirming the application of this tool into the game.
….yep
It better still be in the process -.-
Anyone who played Guild Wars for any decent amount of time knows what this is, and cannot deny that it was, in fact, a good implementation of microtransactions.
And I implore Arena Net to take a look back and consider re-adding this type of content for Guild Wars 2.
For anyone who doesnt know: http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Bonus_Mission_Pack
To summarize the Bonus Mission Pack, they are miniature story missions that fill in and spread into various parts of Tyrian lore, providing new content for players, as well as rewarding players with unique and interesting skins.
To think of how Anet would implement this, there are just so many things they could possibly do.
Recreate missions from prophecies, nightfall, eotn, and factions to add, fill, and even create lore, while giving older players nostalgia, and new players information and that feeling of “brand new” while still being old.
Adding a vast number of weapon and armor skins, from the unique skins from the token rewards at the end of each GW1 campaign, to sought after skins found in the original Guild Wars and its Bonus Mission Pack, to brand new skins letting the creative designers in the company shine even brighter.
To parallel the “living world” of Guild Wars 2, with a more “history book” approach in telling players a story, I believe it would be a great addition to the games content archive.
Salvage is a decent one too, it would change the market slightly for raw materials, and maybe runes as well.
I should add a joke one of:
“Trader Savant”
Tier 1: Buy and Sell an item on the Black Lion Trading post
Tier 2: Sell an item on the Black Lion Trading Post for at least 25% more than its vendor value
please don’t derail this within the first few posts…I’m looking for some new daily/monthly ideas, im sure people have some
Remove this from PvE Monthly and put it in PvP where it belongs first:
Current: World Invaders killed
New: “Invader”
Tier 1: Kill ?? players in WvW
Tier 2: Kill 1 player in each borderland and Eternal Battlegrounds.
that wasn’t exactly the point of the topic…but w/e, it is valid to some people
Some of the daily/monthly achievements feel like either a contrivance or just boring…you want players to do new exciting things? and that was part of why these were changed…but really? “craft 10 items” is new and exciting? (I cant think of a way to make that exciting, so that one will always suck…)
How about (since you removed tiers from the daily/monthly) re-add a tier, but make it a “completion” tier. So there is the primary “do some stuff” then add a “do something special” to finish the tier.
I will use the current achievements as an example:
-Daily-
Current: 13 types of enemies
New: “Hunter Achievement”
-Tier 1: Kill 13 different types of enemies
-Tier 2: Kill a veteran [insert creature type here] ex: Ogre
Current: 10 allies revived
New: “Protector”
-Tier 1: Revive 10 allies
-Tier 2: Revive an ally while in combat -or- in WvWvW
Current: Dodge 15 attacks
New: “Light Footed”
-Tier 1: Dodge 15 attacks
-Tier 2: Dodge an attack that would otherwise knock you down or back.
Current: 20 Gatherings
New: “Refine”
-Tier 1: 20 gatherings
-Tier 2: Gather 5 of each type of material (wood, metal, plant)
Current: 5 Events
New: “The Meta”
-Tier 1: Participate in 5 events
-Tier 2: Participate in a meta event -or- reach the end of an event chain.
-Monthly-
Current: World Invaders killed
New: “Invader”
Tier 1: Kill ?? players in WvW
Tier 2: Kill 1 player in each borderland and Eternal Battlegrounds.
Current: Monthly Events completed
New: “Seen it all”
-Tier 1: Complete ?? Events
-Tier 2: Complete the meta event in each races starting zone.
Current: Intrepid Explorer: Find jumping puzzles
New: “Platformer”
-Tier 1: Complete ?? jumping puzzles
-Tier 2: Complete [insert puzzle name here] (different puzzle can change every time it is in rotation)
Current: Complete ?? Fractals
New: “Fractured”
-Tier 1: Complete ?? Fractals
-Tier 2: Reach the end of 3 rounds and defeat a fractal boss.
Now please, I don’t really want to see any “this is bad” or “this is good”, valid feedbad is desired.
And if you have any suggestions for FUN daily or monthly achievements, list them here, who knows maybe they will be added!
What we need now are interesting things to do, not some mundane simple task, that is so easy or boring to do that the daily just simply becomes “routine”
Hopefully we can get some new one that get players exploring the world, fighting new creatures, entering new zones, etc. etc.
The concept is already partially implemented in the form of the downscale system, it just needs to be expanded upon.
Once a player reaches 100% completion (probably the best achievement to use) they will get the option at character selection to “refresh” their character in New Game +
This resets the map uncover, skill points, hearts, etc. but does not change your character itself.
You keep your max level, gear earned, etc. (so you can still go do dungeons, and play with friends anywhere)
This simply undoes the “singleplayer” aspect of the game so players can progress through it again.
Some additions that may work with the system are:
– New 100% completion legendary materials (Gift of ???) allowing players to get closer to their legendaries
– Resetting the story, allowing players to make new decisions and gain rewards from story paths they could not get from their first playthrough (Vigil, Order, Priory)
– New end-game “tokens” for exchange to 1 exotic stat item, and 1 unique skin item for each new game + completed
– Perhaps reworking non-power based statistics (magic-find) into a passive buff a player gains when completing each 100% completion (removing magic find gear)
– Possible “game-modifiers” when players enter new game + that add new, interesting, challenges to playing in lower level zones.
This allows players to re-experience the content on a character they want to play (for players who aren’t altaholics) and gives some rewards for playing through the game and experiencing the zones again.
Just look up the Wiki on the Traits.
They state the exact cooldown there.
That doesn’t help when you are in-game, you can use the ability, but you aren’t going to be fighting, and counting to 90 at the same time so you know when the cooldown is going to trigger.
Depends what your weapon sets are, Tactics is for shouts mainly, and the other you can use for hammer, shield masteries etc., but both give beneficial stats.
If you are suffering from condition issues, health is great since toughness really doesn’t help against.
I use V for arms to give a considerable damage boost just in a single trait
And use shield, turtle’s traits in defense, so that is pure tanky/defensive
and use shout traits and empowered from the tactics line since my build revolves around it.
So Defense would aid you if you dont use shouts, tactics if you do use shouts.
dont expect to deal the same damage if you plan to go tankier, I run full Power/Toughness/Vit gear with soldiers runes, shouts, GS and Axe Shield.
I can deal sufficient damage, but the most important part is staying alive and aiding teammates.
It is personal opinion but “big numbers” are not actually needed in the game as much as you think, it expedites the killing process, but against more than 1 enemy (or a boss) it is a battle a attrition where dealing consistent damage over a longer period of time will prevail.
It is a case of deal a ton of damage and suffer from downtime (cooldowns or…death)
vs
Dealing medium/high damage but applying it constantly to a target with little to no downtime.
That extra 300 toughness/vitality you can get from the trait lines is actually quite impressive (and the traits help too ofc)
It is really hard to give build advice to people since they all want different things, and some of those things are nigh impossible to achieve (for ex 30k crits with HB but toughness/Vit statted gear/traits just doesn’t happen)
But I will throw my 2 cents in there:
I run a 10/0/20/30/10
Full Power/Tough/Vit Armor
Runes of Soldier
GS with Sigil of Air (or Fire)
Axe (Blood) and Shield (Bloodlust)
Healing Sig, FGJ, Shake it Off, On My Mark, Sig of Rage
2-3 is my max, 4 maybe in WvW….probably not 5+ though
No, and instant teleport random group dungeon finder is the last thing any mmo needs -.-
Well, a instant teleport is needed in any type of dungeon finder. If you are one that stands in LA or in front of a dungeon entrance, that is your own choice. I rather do other things and when the party is ready, just get teleported in that instance.
There are many things to discuss about how to “apply” for a party and I will not discuss it now, but i completely support the instant teleport to location feature IF you have that location unlocked: meaning that a lvl 35 character can’t go in a lvl 50 dungeon untill that dungeon becomes available to that character.
Instances should NOT be server based, but global
The problems I see with that argument are basically this: It is a LFG tool, not a Dungeon Finder, Anet needs to make grouping more accessible for all types of content, not just dungeons, it is a more global feature rather than a tacked on function for dungeon goers.
The other is the “I like to do other things” Yes…and? Go do those things, like explained in the OP, the feature is global and can be accessed from any zone, meaning you can be creating a party from anywhere containing people from anywhere else.
If you do not have the dungeon waypoint unlocked then you shouldn’t get a free ride there (imo) and if you do have the waypoint….use it, it isn’t a huge cost (even though people love arguing over that)
So with the global feature and having waypoints already in the game, I don’t see any reason to have instant teleport and random grouping other than people being lazy or cheap :/
I actually like it, I don’t use it for spying, but when I kill someone and they stay there without WPing, I tend to think “they must be calling reinforcements” and I sit there patiently waiting and smiling, knowing more fodder is approaching
don’t look at it in terms of the weapon itself, rather than the utility it provides:
Leap, Immobilize, Cripple, Bleeds
vs
Ranged Cripple, Vulnerability, Small Leap, Higher damage
so it all depends what you need when you are playing.
A proper dungeon finder is what this game needs actually.

The current plan is for this test to run through the end of the current matchup. At that time we’ll go back to the previous culling setup. Please note that this is a trial of an interim change to culling. We are at work on a more comprehensive solution and that effort has not been impacted by this test. The point of the test was to determine if the community would prefer the new method while waiting for the more comprehensive fix. More details about the change can be found in the “New Culling Trial” thread which will remain stickied for the duration of the test.
Why not just create an instance, in the game world, that you can ask (in big fancy yellow letters) people to enter to test these things, if it is impossible or difficult to do internally.
Even if it is just a square room with controlled variables so you guys can actually test this properly.
Get a specific amount of players in each instanced room, maybe test NPC and object additions, etc. etc. etc.
Im sure the community would be more involved in a test, if it was actually a proper test, rather than us being the mice in a maze, where we are trying to play the game, but being tested by the ones “behind the scene”
I’m sure you would be amazed at how many people would probably take time out to test this for you.
This last attempt at a culling fix has made things exponentially worse, is there a way you can QA this stuff before it hits the live servers?
At least revert it while attempting a new fix, and roll them out over time, but if they really do break things further, please undo the changes.
If you actually scroll down on the Wintersday site page, you can see that each DAY Tixx is in a different city, not just a 10 minute fly over.
It is absolutely horrendous now….insanely frustrating, before this patch it was not so bad
One thing is that fire and rage definitely do not trigger each other’s cooldowns.
They in fact do, if you would like to test it yourself just use the Heart of the Mists, activate the Sigil of Rage, then swap to a weapon with Air/Fire
be careful using the word definitely, unless you are positive, you should not speak in absolutes
You will notice you will not get an air/Fire proc for 45 seconds (Rage CD)
Hmm.. The last time I tested this, they did not seem to interfere with one another, but testing now supports them doing so. Likely I was insufficiently careful when testing previously. My mistake.
They like to stealth update things and give players minimal information on these types of mechanics….frustrating
but that still brings me back to my first question in the OP
Also, on a similar topic, would it be worth the 5-6 extra gold to run Sup sigil of fire over the major variant (only 2s) with a 10% decrease in chance
(edited by Zietlogik.6208)

Currently I am using Rage on my Axe, Paralyzation on my Shield and Force on my Greatsword
But have never really thought about Sigils much until now.
I have been seeing alot of people saying Air/Fire on GS, with bloodlust (or another stack based sigil), Force or another non-CD based sigil (so it is not affected by Rage/Air/Fire)
But there are plenty of great sigils for warriors…..but the vagueness of the CDs and the lack of information given on shared CDs on certain sigil families (like weapon-swap, etc.)
Based on a different site I was looking at: http://www.guildwarsinsider.com/sigils-heightened-focus-berserkers-power/
“Rules:
If you use Sigil of Rage, your remaining sigils should be Force and Bloodlust.
A stacking sigil should never be combined with another stacking sigil.
An on-swap sigil should never be combined on the same weapon set as an on-proc sigil.
An on-proc sigil should never be combined on the same weapon set as an on-proc sigil.
An on swap sigil should never be combined on the same weapon set as an on-swap sigil (the one proccing is randomized). Leeching can miss.
Example combinations:
Fire / Blood + Bloodlust
Air / Force + Bloodlust
Force / Rage + Bloodlust
Blood / Energy + Bloodlust
Nullification / Bloodlust + Blood
Force + Fire / Force + Blood
Force + Water / Bloodlust + Water
etc… Many combinations are usable."
But this was posted in Sept, and some things have changed a little bit.
Is there a sigil set for weapon sets so far with warrior? Like “If you use GS / Sword+Axe you should use…” type of thing?
Instead of another “pls add this” thread, you should try…i don’t know…actually adding a suggestion?
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/suggestions/Global-LFG-UI-and-Feature/first
They have already stated they have it planned, but nothing is stopping you from trying to throw out positive ideas their way…your post however, lacks that completely.
It is still just another localized area for people to stand around looking for a party though.
I love doing other things, dungeons, explore etc. but this would force me to go to the lobby to find a group, pretty much like how it currently is (stand outside the dungeon, or stand in LA)
There needs to be a more intuitive way of grouping that doesn’t involve cramming people into the latest hotspot to look for a group.

I have yet to get a response yet, same as every other topic thus far -.-
The other signet also give only 90 Toughness, the Guardian one is the only exception:
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Signet_of_Earth
- Passive: Improves toughness.
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Signet_of_Stone
- Passive: Improves toughness for you and your pet.
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Dolyak_Signet
- Passive: Reduces incoming damage.
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Signet_of_Judgment
- Passive: Reduces incoming damage.
All of those should get a 10% damage reduction.
Read the wording.
Those very clearly state that they improve your toughness.
Dolyak and Judgment are seperate. They are meant to reduce incoming damage for people playing a heftier style soldier class.
whoosh that is the sound of the entire thread’s discussion going over your head.
They are meant to reduce incoming damage for people playing a heftier style soldier class.
there is no “they”, only the Guardian’s signet gives an indifferent damage reduction (%10), whereas Dolyak gives 90 toughness (definitely NOT 10% damage reduction)…just like the signets he linked.
So they made one of the lieutenants a bit stronger? its a step in the right direction, still hoping for an update for Zhaitan, and a nice surprise when it comes time to fight the rest of the dragons.
I have still yet to find any sufficient information coming from Anet about if they are planning on anything for grouping and community
Some areas of the warrior are underpowered, but alot of the warrior is, in fact, balanced.
It is just unfortunate we are pigeon holed into those areas to be effective
I heard there was a reddit entry from someone who talked about it, but I couldn’t find it
Maybe we can get an actual response from anet, either forum or blog about what they are planning for community and grouping features?! maybe?!!
…nope lol
Maybe we can get an actual response from anet, either forum or blog about what they are planning for community and grouping features?! maybe?!!
It can take ages, maybe in the AMA someone will bring the topic up.
I would love to see some actual variety in WvW, even outside of maps
It seems fun on paper, but impractical in execution, if the enemy does not die, or has loot, then it is a complete waste, they either lose their pathing, or you will be stuck in combat until they die/find their way back up.
I say the more control the player has in the group creation, augmented by an in-game system, the better it would be. Auto-groupers are good for lazy people, but having more control can simply create a more enjoyable experience for everyone (unless you are an elitist who only wants r9’s in their party, but they pay the price of waiting a long time to create one)
